Customer service could be improved. I ordered from the menu and what I wanted wasn't available - that ticked me off but that's not all... I tried to order 3 more things and they didn't have that available! WTH?! The food is good, the price is high, Panera Bread should consider on doing some lunch deals or something. My order was never received because the manager "Bill" wanted to close early. He told me that a driver came to my house and he clearly did not. Every time I called for an update they said it was on the way. The final time I talked to him he said that he had cancelled the order because they were about to close and he didn't have to work tomorrow (memorial day). I told him how unprofessional that was and he said it was very busy and next time to come get it myself. I was appalled so I went over to take care of it myself and was locked out. I went to Panera last week for lunch. The chicken avocado melt sandwich had zero flavor, the chicken meat looked like it has changed and something right out of a can, the "melt" wasn't even warm and had a cold bites throughout my small half sandwich, it was also missing the Chipotle sauce. The black bean soup with it was literally just black beans, so I paid $3.99 for a cup of warm black beans, again no flavor, very bland. And the baguette was so hard I couldn't even tear it apart, seemed as if it was yesterday's bread at best. Honestly I wish I could rate this 0 stars. It is worth the drive to go to the one that isn't a drive through nearby on cemetery road. I have probably eaten at this one over 10 times, never, ever, have they had what I wanted. It will be 3 pm and they will be out of BREAD. IT'S PANERA BREAD!!! They never have the bagels you want, always out of bread, and always forget something if you go through the drive through. Also, they short you on your sandwiches. I used to love coming to this Panera , however I've had more and more problems and this last visit was enough for me. As I was waiting in line for my order a young woman , I believe her name was Devan , who was wearing manager apparel was yelling at employees and then proceeded to be condescending towards myself when I asked if everything was in the bag. Now that attitude would have been tolerable if everything had been in the bag. It's a good thing I knew to ask due to my previous visits . I know it wasn't much but as a GM to see a employee of a store act like that and be on a management team floors me. I went through the drive thru and ordered a hot caramel latte. I waited for 10 minutes at the pick up window after paying for it. I might as well have waited at the Starbucks drive-thru line of cars. When I got my drink, it was COLD as if it had been sitting out for hours. Mind you that it was given to me in a hot cup with a sleeve. So, naturally I was expecting a HOT drink, NOT a cold one. I went inside and told an employee and she promtly got a manager and she asked me if she could remake it. I told her she could and she said she would bring it out to me herself. Someone else came out and said "hot chocolate remake?" Holding a cup in her hand. I told her it was actually supposed to be a hot caramel latte. After waiting for it again, she finally comes back and says "here's your caramel latte" I took the cup and left. It was hot, but it was not a caramel latte. It was just regular hot coffee. When are the supervisors of this location or the District Managers of this company going to understand this location needs a TON of work? Do they notice the ample amount of negative reviews? I always seem to go through the drive thru due to the fact the place is ALWAYS dirty. It's truly difficult to find a table that is somewhat clean. The drive thru is as much of a chaotic mess as the actual restaurant is inside. If the employees were not busy speaking amongst themselves having a wonderful time at work then maybe they could get their shit together at least once. I ordered a you Pick 2, which in itself is overpriced, my salad was thrown together with 2 parts topping, 1 part lettuce. I was given a literal spoonful of dressing which was not even apparent when mixed into the salad. Who taught you all of portion control? Ridiculous. Following, my turkey avocado sandwich was blessed with a literal HALF of an avocado, not sliced, just plopped in the middle of my sandwich nor was it even a ripe avocado so the taste was extra bland. Minced turkey is the worst idea for sandwich meat I have ever witnessed while working in the service industry. The tomatoes were savagely cut into goopy pieces that saturated the bread. For almost 6 dollars for HALF of a sandwich, I am besides myself. The portions are shrinking, the consistency is non existent, the quality is complete and total shit. GET. A. WHOLE. NEW. STAFF. AND. This Panera is awful I have gone to the drive though a few times and they take Forever. It wouldn't be so bad if I couldn't see them all just standing there talking for 10 min before they even acknowledged I was there. My husband and I decided to go in and eat a few days ago and when we went to get our dranks there were GNATS all over the drank machines. When we said something they said yeah someone should clean that and gave us something to drank from the drive though machines who knows if they were clean or not. I finally got my food and had to ask for a new spoon because the one they gave me was filthy the guy had to look for a clean one. It is no surprise people get sick from the food here. The girl could not get my order straight, I was charged for a bagel I did not order, you had to ask for knives for your spread, my order was to go, you had to ask for napkins. Ok, so this PB is close to me. But, I just cannot do it! Three times I've gone to this location and three times I've seen. Poor hygiene. Person handling money at the drive thru also handled food (kept the same gloves on. But today stole the show: the lady went to get my sandwich off the rolling oven thing but before that with her bare hands she pushes trash into the receptacle. I mean, literally took her bare hands to push the trash down then proceeded to get my sandwich. No gloves, no washing her hands. Nothing. I asked for a refund. But here's the thing. I love Panera as it offers healthier fast food options, but this location is TERRIBLE!! As stated in many other reviews, the tables are frequently dirty. More often than not, they are out of something at the drink station (i.e. napkins, butter, lids, etc.). Today, however, was the most shockingly awful visit ever. I was there right around 12:30 (peak lunchtime). There was a line, but that is to be expected. So first, the mother of one of the cashiers is waiting in line, and once the worker notices her, she proceeds to abandon her cash register to come around the counter to hug mommy and proceed to chit-chat. Meanwhile, the other cashier (possibly a manager) calls me up to the counter to take my order. At this point, the other worker is now back at her register and mommy is at the counter. As I'm standing there, she asks her daughter if she can take a break. Umm....NO! It's the middle of the lunch rush, you twit! Fortunately, the daughter seemed to have more brains than mommy and told her that she couldn't. At this point, I have now placed my order, and before I have even paid, the cashier waiting on me says, "I'm going to the bathroom." and LEAVES THE REGISTER! So now I'm just standing there thinking, "Did that seriously just happen?" Fortunately the other cashier saw what happened and finished ringing me out. I then sat down and waited for my food. I got a bowl of soup. That's it. A. BOWL. OF. SOUP. It literally took 14 minutes to get my food. This location has been going downhill for a long time. I'm pretty sure the homeless woman that stands in front of Meijer could do a better job running this place. I think from now on, I will go out of my way and go to the Mill Run location. read more

I typically love Panera and this was my first time coming to this location. I had black bean soup and the we're out of baguettes, so I had nothing to dip in my soup. My friend had a roasted turkey BLT and her tomatoes were frozen. I also noticed that the names for the bakery treats did not correspond with the bakery treats. The mac and cheese was good as usual but over all the service of this Panera was not great. read more

I usually enjoy Panera for healthy fast food. However, today Panera failed. $10 for tiny half of a sandwich with a strawberry poppy seed dressing salad. Bit into the chicken in the salad and it was frozen. The dressing container barely had a 1/2 tsp of dressing. Very disappointing! read more

Went there at 9:00 am on a Sunday to get 2 souffles for my parents. They were completely OUT of souffles. Came back at 9:30 to try again - this time they had 3 left and by the time I got through the line, they had 1 left - a bacon & spinach (last on my list of choices - I had wanted to get an artichoke & spinach and a ham & cheese). I bought the 1 souffle left & decided to get an Asiago Cheese bagel also. They actually had to go in the back & check to see if they had any left - they had 3 & I purchased 1. They should know by now what their most popular items are and they should make SURE they have enough to get through breakfast! There is no excuse for running out of these items at 9:00 am. The 1st time I went there, I purchased a spinach & artichoke souffle and while I was waiting on my specialty drink, another cashier sold the souffle to someone else. They offered me a bacon & spinach souffle (which was so-so) and a "free" cookie - I accepted it only because I was with friends & didn't want to hold everyone up. Get ORGANIZED people! Can I give this 0 stars? I Called Mill Run location to reserve their meeting room for a luncheon. I was told they don't schedule that room during lunch hours. WHAT?? I told her I was bringing approx. 20-25 ladies in for a luncheon and that every one of those would be BUYING their meal. She double checked with the manager and he still wouldn't do it. Today is the last day I eat a Panera salad! I used to get their salads twice a week, Asian Chicken, Thai Chopped, and Spinach Power. Ever since they switched to the new to go salad boxes they have been robbing people on their salad prices. I didn't mind paying $8 for a full box of salad but now they give barely enough to cover the bottom of the box. What a rip off! It's not just the Hilliard Rome location, it's all of them. I sent a complaint into Panera itself because the amount of food they dole out for the price is absurd. For less than $8 I'll go eat unlimited soup, salad and bread sticks at Olive Garden. read more

This is truly the worst Panera I have ever been to, but I still go there frequently because it's near my house. A couple of weeks ago they were out of napkins...AND clean silverware (yes, it's true - no clean spoons for the soup so they gave me a plastic one!) The coffee is rarely hot, and frequently the coffee pots and cream pitchers are empty. You have to ask for them to put out fresh coffee. Recently when I was there on Mother's Day weekend, the restaurant was FILTHY. Stuff all over the floors and tables (even behind the serving counter.) The coffee and drink stations were also very dirty. I even went so far as to email someone at corporate, and asked them to please get this location some attention! They said it's a franchise store, so they can't do all that much, but they said they would try to get this store some assistance. Too bad. It's a great location. Overall, we really like Panera food and we love the idea of a drive thru which this location has. However, about 75% of the time we go to this location, there is something wrong w/ our order: mixed up main dish, wrong sides, something missing. Recently, my husband went thru the drive thru and ordered a sandwich. When he got home, he announced, "I hope you like it with a humbo!" (this is a term my family used when we were kids to denote the "end of the bread"). I laughed as I thought he was kidding, til I came out to the kitchen and saw it. No joke. One side of the sandwich was the bread, the other side was the crusty old humbo. I couldn't believe it. Did they think we were feeding our pet squirrel? What employee putting this sandwich together would think that this is acceptable? Unbelievable. We called to talk to manager, he was very nice and agreed that this is not how its supposed to be done. Husband always complains that they are out of the self-serve coffee or it is cold. This place has been open awhile, long enough you would think to iron out the kinks.
