We needed a place to eat breakfast and came upon Panera Bread. The address given is not quite right, because when i put it in the GPS, it takes you somewhere else. This by far, the WORST Panera I have ever been to. As we were trying to order and ask questions, the cashiers responses were very obvious that she could care less about being there. After placing the order, we received the beeper to alert us when it's ready...except it never goes off. 20 minutes after placing an order for a soup and grilled cheese, we go up to the counter. Our food had been sitting there for a while, cold by the time we checked. Apparently, calling my name for the order as if I was standing 1 foot away is all they do. Since I was sitting at the front of the restaurant, there was no chance to hear it. After finally getting the food, we realized the cashier never gave us our drinks either! TLDR; cashier could care less if she had the job and our food was left on the counter because apparently no one knows how to inform customers that aren't hovering at the counter that their food is ready. read more

Poor customer service and mediocre food. I visited this Panera during the middle of the afternoon and was appalled by the experience, Panera is generally a high quality chain in my opinion but I would avoid this location. During my visit I had the strawberry chicken salad with a cup of soup while my friends and girlfriend ordered a similar assortment of U Pick 2 items. A rude comment was made by the staff during this visit and when brought to the managements' attention there was no response. If you are in a pinch the food here isn't bad but don't expect consideration as a customer, there are plenty of better choices in the area. Awful service, dirty and couldn't get what I wanted! After standing in line for 10minutes while watching the people behind the counter figure things out I finally get to the register only to be told they don't serve breakfast sandwiches after 11am. Really? First, this isn't even noted on the menu and second, the lunch menu is off to the right where it can't be seen! I ended up getting nothing. My mother in law orders the hazelnut cream cheese only to be told they no longer carry it. Meanwhile it's still clearly listed on the menu. My girlfriend orders a blueberry bagel which had 4 blueberries. Add cream cheese and an apple juice and $5? Crazy! We all sit down... tables are dirty, floor disgusting! Panara Bread, Hyannis has just lost a customer for life! After purchasing a loaf of Tomato Basil bread we noticed the top had a sweet topping baked in to the crust. Not what we expected so I called the company and asked about it and spoke to an employee who didn't go out of his way to explain anything and said we could bring it back and get a new loaf. We are 20-30 minutes away and made the trip back. My husband tried to speak to Frank but he rushed right by and said he was on break, talk to someone else. His reply was, but we spoke to you. Frank didn't care. No customer service. Long story, finally the baker came out and explained that all the breads had this topping. Thanks Frank, for not checking this out and having us waste an hour coming back for nothing. My husband is furious and will not go into the Hyannis Panara ever again. I happened upon the Panera on Route 32 in Hyannis. My wife and I had just stayed at the Holiday Inn just down the street. First, we tried going to the IHOP in the same plaza, but were irritated that there was a 20 minute wait...for IHOP???? Really??? We then saw the heavenly sign of Panera!!! And a sandwich that should be l/2 of one? No more Panera for us! This Hyannis one is particularly disorganized and the bathrooms are pretty tired too. Been eating here for a while and it has always been good. However, a week or so ago, I got my usual bagel sandwich for breakfast and the bacon was rancid. I chalked it up to a one time thing. Until I got the same thing today. I took a bite and the bacon was so disgusting, I actually got sick from it. I called to let them know and the woman on the phone was apologetic, but unhelpful. Way better to get food from here in the evening. Whenever I go at lunch it's packed and messy. Later in the day there is a more chill vibe and you seem to get more food for your money. I feel like at lunch I get jipped on the amount of baguette and salad I get. Second time at this Panera in about six months. This place is looking pretty rough, same cracked tile near the register I saw a year ago. Employees at the registers treat people as if they're bothering them. I ordered 1/2 grilled cheese and a bowl of soup. The bowl of soup arrived with a skim of something on top and the sandwich bottom was much bigger than the top, making it impossible to pick up to eat. The cheese had run out of the "sandwich" and hardened on the sides so there was almost no cheese on the sandwich. This place has been nearly empty the last two times I was there. I remember when the line stretched to the door and the food was fresh and hot. Where is management? This place was a gold mine at one time. Now it's just tired with unhappy employees and subpar food. My boyfriend and I have eaten at Panera in the past on our trips up to Hyannis. It had been a while since our last visit, but we had decided to grab some breakfast this morning. We ordered two lemonades, an orange juice, a ham and swiss souffle, a harvest salad, and a chocolate pasty. After sitting down with my food, I found a blond hair on my pastry... and neither my boyfriend or I are blond. Then when my boyfriend started to dig into his salad, he found hair in that. I took his salad back up to the counter to get new one. While we were waiting, he started to remove the sticker label on the orange juice, there were multiple hairs stuck to the label! That's three products with hair in them! Needles to say, I couldn't take a bite of my souffle without thinking there was gonna be hair baked in. I was horrified that they weren't more sanitary by making all employees working in the vicinity of foods and pastries wear hair nets. Even though the manager did apologize, I know it had to have been her hair on my pastry as she was the only blond in the area and the one who picked my pastry and plated it. 0 stars... This is the worst Panera I've ever been to. I'm never coming back. I love the food, but after my last experience with the employees i had to throw out my food. I went in at LEAST half an hour before closing, there were a few other parties in there some still eating and people behind us wanting to order as well... But when I went to order they said very rudely that they couldn't make what I wanted because don't you know were closing.. I'm not very confrontational at all I'm a 19 year old girl who has worked in the restaurant industry and I understand how much it takes to close a restaurant.. I was put on the spot, made to feel uncomfortable... So I got the only thing he could make... I got my salad and I was disappointed when I looked over and the other people who were behind us got the Mac and cheese that I wanted.. This made me very upset and angry that I lost my appetite... I should have just left and not given them any of my money because I ended up just throwing out the salad I felt so uncomfortable. The people that work here are lazy and rude. I wouldn't want to give this place my money ever again and I advice you don't either. you close when it's time to close not a half hour before... Badly under-staffed and disorganized, bad place to grab a quick breakfast on the way to the ferry. Stopped in first thing on September 24. Got half our order quickly, realized a few minutes later that they'd lost the other half of the order. When I brought this to the attention of the lone food prep person, she didn't make it a priority to fill my simple order even though I was the only person waiting at the counter. Instead she continued working on a take-out order for which no one was waiting. Then she sent me back to the front of the store to hunt down the manager and find my fruit bowl. I went to this panera bread hoping for my usual fuji apple chicken salad, but it was not to be. The size was smaller and not at all worth the 9.99 for this dish. My husband returned to the pick up spot to report some ingredients were missing from his salad which they promptly threw in. Another customer approached to comment they got the wrong salad and was told the salads were downsized.l Dont know if that is happening everywhere or being tested in certain locations. Bad news. Wow where can I begin. The experience was horrible. Ordered to go a large steak and cheese sandwich, large mac and cheese and a Chicken Panini. First, there was no cheese on the steak and chees which wouldn't have been too bad but there was less than an ounce of steak. The only thing in the sandwich was some onions. It was horrible. The Large mac and cheese was at best a small to medium and the Chicken Panini was just passable as a sandwich. Ordered a whole Panini and got a half. Don't use the rapid pick up option. I have used this option on several occasions, always hoping the next time they'll get it right. The bagels are always fresh, but the service is TERRIBLE. The order is rarely ready when I get there and the last time (and I mean it will be the last time I order from this location), I was huffed at during the entire process. There is no excuse for this behavior, I order a day early and pick up the next day for very early meetings. This restaurant is in dire need of some managerial oversight. Rude, unprofessional, service staff is unacceptable and the fact that they make minimum wage or thereabouts does not warrant poor customer service. read more

Every year I try Panera to see if food has improved. Unfortunately it doe s not. Love the place and their bread is fine as are some of the pastries. Too bad the food is outrageously priced for over salted skimpy portions. I got the 1/2 flatbread and soup combo. The price is not really posted so the $9. + price shocked me. It was worse when I examined the flatbread. Less than 1 oz turkey, 6 limp baby spinach leaves, 2 cranberries. Some sauce. I hope I can post picture. My cappuccino was almost all milk. Normally I'm a big fan of Panera. Their online ordering process and pick up is perfect when you have little time to spare. This location however gets only three stars because they don't seem to care about the goal of this service. My order was nowhere to be found upon arrival and I had to repeat it 3 times in order for them to find it or prepare it. To make matters worse, when I got my oatmeal and berries order home, the oatmeal was very watery and there may have been only five or 6 pecans in the whole order. This was always a well run Panera with good service and food. However, in the last year or two something has gone drastically wrong. The service is just awful. There are times I've walked in when it's slow and no one will walk up to the register and take my order. Even after multiple employees walk by and see me standing there. I often order take out from this location and I would say almost every time I pick up the order it is wrong. In most cases once you get the correct food order it is good. I would say in the past I would order from this location at least once every two weeks if not more. Now I rarely go there. The poor service and constant mistakes are ridiculous. I don't know if this is a franchise but the owner needs to fire the managers and retrain the staff. And this is coming from a once regular customer who really liked ordering from here because the options in this area are limited. read more

I get pretty much the same thing everyday, a half salad and a hot tea. First off, the price is absolutely ridiculous, $10+ for a hand full of salad? Ok. The next issue is the consistency and the fact that there is none. It's either I get five bites or the pack it full or screw up all together and forget crucial ingredients like the chicken in the chicken salad like some kind of sick ironic joke. By the way, be prepared to find a nice strand of beautiful luscious hair every now and then like a nice bonus. This location is disgusting. I used to frequent this place but it has become nothing more than over priced stale food. Walking in there was a woman who had an issue with her catering order. The registers in front of the menu were closed and we had to order over at the bakery counter which made it difficult to see the menu. (It was 5pm, prime dinner time). The restaurant was the least busy i've ever seen it. We got our food in a timely fashon, and the cook was the only reason I gave this place 1 star. He was amazing, friendly and efficient. There were dirty tables, trash on the floor, empty napkin dispensers. The (what I could only assume was the manager due to his attire) came out and saw all of this and just went back into the back, never filling the empty supplies. Never helping the solitary cashier on the register or acknowledging customers. The soup was gelatinous, the rolls were hard and they were out of baguettes. My green tea tasted like watered down grossness. For paying 70.00 for my family to have sandwiches and soup, I can't say as though I will be back anytime soon. Oh and they discontinued the salad I liked because they couldn't make it "clean" bit they sell Pepsi products. It must be the "clean" Pepsi version. More healthy I guess???? read more

I have eaten here 5 times for lunch with my beeoch and the first two were very good and the soup and a half sandwich was very good.The 1/2 size sandwich was the size of almost a full sandwich made with say arnold bread slices.Well the last 3 times eating the same sandwich it was 1/2 of the 1/2 which pisses me entirely off. If an establishment can not plate the same quality food or portions it's saying something about them.It's to bad they started cheaping out,because the foods tasted good. read more
