POOR I repeat POOR customer service. After waiting in line for what seemed like a really long time, I approach the register. I give the cashier my order. It was a pretty simple order. A cup of coffee, a large soda, a cobblestone muffin and a carrot walnut muffin. The cashier rings up the total, turns around, puts the cups on the counter, leaves again to get the muffins which he puts in a bag (we were planning to eat them at a table, but he didn't ask), then throws them on the counter. Blankly he stares at me. I handed him my credit card, he swiped it and then handed me a receipt. No thank you, nothing. I get to the table and realize that I've been given the wrong muffin. I go back up to the counter, call it out to the guy. He takes the wrong muffin, exchanges it for my carrot walnut one. Again, no apology, nothing. I would not return to this particular location. read more

This Panera is where our girls always want to go when we make a Costco run in Leesburg. I've been to several Panera's and typically it is a routine visit - coffee or bagel on the run, quickie dinner of soup/salad to avoid the Golden Arches once again, or a quick free Wi-Fi hit when on the road for business. The Leesburg location for the last couple of visits has been less than stellar in their customer service or consistency in food. I know what it takes to run a 7 day a week retail food operation as I owned a similar type of business for 10 years....so don't prattle on about problems finding good help, the economy, etc. because my eyes will glaze over and I'll be asleep in about 2 seconds. The products are ok, again nothing stellar but the bagels seem to make the kids happy and so we keep going back. Our experience last night, after Costco of course, was painful to say the least. The register clerk was nice enough - good greeting, repeated the order - but it went downhill from there. A toasted bagel/cream cheese and a roast beef sandwich, lemonade a soda and a dozen bagels to go....sound difficult? Well, evidently it was ... a girl from the food side came over to "help" and took over packaging my bagels - I began with the ET bagels, 2 in a separate bag please, and went on to 2 blueberry, 2 choc chip, 3 plain, 2 sesame, 2 cinn crunch. I like my ET packed by themselves because who in their right mind wants the multi mixture of seeds, including onion and garlic, messing with any of the others?? She certainly was not paying any attention, even with the register guy tried to point out what I had requested. Needless to say a little attitude reared its ugly head on her part.....I got my ET in a paper bag, the rest of the order was in a bucket type package. Cool, we got the food and drinks and headed off to the table. I'm not sure what made me look, except I know the gal filling the bagel order just wasn't "into it." Lo and behold I was missing 3 bagels...so of course I had to go back to the counter to fix my order, and it happened but with a very unpleasant counter clerk who basically threw the bagels at me. Needless to say, we all get stressed, or hate our jobs, or are just unpleasant in nature.....but learn to deal with it. Most of all management in these retail shops need to help the staff learn to deal with it....and if that isn't happening, well my favorite saying "the fish rots from the head down." I came here on a Sunday morning for a meeting. It was around 10am and pretty quiet, but by the time we left around 11:15, it was really crowded and quite noisy. I'm not sure if the ordering process here is unique to this Panera but I have never seen it anywhere else. We ordered at the counter, were given a "buzzer", and our food was actually brought out to our table. That was really convenient so we didn't have to interrupt our meeting to go up and get our breakfast sandwiches. The coffee was fresh during this visit. I particularly enjoy the Hazelnut blend. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches of the same variety, ham/cheese/egg. They were served hot, and were tasty enough (although quite small) but not something I would ever go out of my way to order unless, for example, I was having a meeting at a Panera and wanted breakfast. Service was friendly both at the counter and tableside. The location is also quite convenient if you plan to do outlet shopping at the Leesburg outlets across the way. read more

This is, by far, THE WORST Panera Bread location I have ever visited. If the whole chain was this badly run, Panera would no longer be in business. A few comments about this visit? - 21 (twenty one) minutes waiting in line at 5pm? Seriously? Where was the manager? This is dinner time at a Panera next to an outlet mall ... shouldn't dinner be 'all hands on deck?' 21 minutes is absurd, especially with just 5 people in line ahead of me. - Both kids PB&J sandwiches had approx 1 teaspoon (that is being generous) of peanut butter and jelly on them. I had to go back to the counter and have the sandwich maker add PB&J. - My turkey sandwich was a mess. Presentation matters, right? Yes it does. The bread pieces were all mis-matched/facing different directions and all the cheese was on one side of the cut. This was an awful looking sandwich, my 5 year old does much better (because she cares!) - Pastries were stale. Not one but 3. Something fishy is going on here ... - Finally, and most importantly ... The place is filthy. FILTHY! I don't mean "busy dining room" kind of filthy ... the place is covered in grime. There were bread crusts and wrappers all over the floor. I ordered my food on the app for curbside pickup and i didn't realize that the restaurant closed sooner on sundays so i was a few minutes late to pick up. I went to the drive thru speaker phone and a very nice lady answered and she was kind enough to give me my food, even though the restaurant was closed for the day. Sadly, this is the worst Panera around, but it is the closest to me. Their ability to monitor and react to the flow of customers is poor at best. Regardless of the time a day I find that there is an extended wait to order. Be it 3 people in line, or the usual case, 15 people in line. The cashiers and "helpers" lack any sort of sense of urgency. Additionally, when attempting to grab the attention of a worker behind the counter, it quickly became apparent as to his inability to hear me, he was jamming to an iPod in one ear. If I had not already ordered I would have taken the extra 7 minute drive (shorter than the wait in line in leesburg) and went to the Lansdowne Panera. This should be anyone else's decision, and mine going forward for when the urge for a Panera meal. read more

As an office that regularly orders lunch from restaurants in Leesburg, no place screws up as colossally and consistently as Panera does. Not only do the employees refuse to acknowledge that they make mistakes but they also refuse to amend the situation. The Panera Bread in Leesburg has the all around most friendly and kind team working there. My daughter (6) attended one of their Baker's-in-training there tonight through her Daisy Troop and it was such a hit that I came home to write this review (and I really never write reviews). I just wanted everyone to know what an awesome experience it was. The each got really nice cotton/canvas baking hats and aprons. They taught the girls about food safety and cleanliness, and about the changes the company is making to use whole, fresh, real ingredients. The staff really takes pride in the food the cook and bake. The girls got a behind the scenes tour and hands on involvement in some of the most popular bakery items. They learned about food storage, food prep, safety, etc. Then the girls got to sample some of the food, which ended up being a full course meal of sandwiches, soup, and salad. After than they got to decorate the cutest cookies with lots of fun toppings. Finally the girls were sent home with a BAG FULL of baked goods and more samplings! I am just so impressed with the effort and generosity of the staff! We were already customers, but now we are just a bit more loud about how much we love Leesburg Panera! read more

This is truly the worst Panera. I wish an executive would see how this place could be improved and actually run properly. It simply makes no sense that during a breakfast rush the cashiers have to take orders, ring people up, get bagels, get pastries, make smoothies. Why can't other employees be assigned these tasks? At any given time, the line will be out the door and there will be no employees at registers because they are all too busy slicing bagels...something is not right here. Last weekend I ordered two bagels, and it took about 20 minutes to get them. Even the employees were confused why the order took so long. Perhaps Panera should implement some sort of electronic system so simple orders don't get lost. read more

I have been ordering from this Panera since the onset of the Pandemic. Time and time and again between this year and the last I have had issues with my orders. So this review doesn't come after one bad experience but many. We are continually having issues with missing items, items without the listed ingredients, items missing companion items (i.e. no dressing with the salad), items that clearly have been sitting somewhere and has lost quality (i.e. frozen drinks are delivered as liquid), etc. One time there was a hair in my sandwich. The Panera associate brushed it off saying these things happen (!!) and that everyone appears to be wearing a hair net now. After a while we began to call and ask for a refund or a replacement item be delivered. Often times the door dash driver is blamed but sometimes the door dash driver tells us s/he picked up all the items that were available. And on top of it all and what pushed me to write this, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get through to customer service. The phone rings until it hangs up on you. And if you try to call door dash to resolve the issue, you will spend quite a bit of time on hold or getting bounced around until they tell you the merchant (Panera) is responsible anyways. And then you're back at square one where Panera won't pick up your call. read more

Food is absolutely great and the atmosphere is great aswell. One thing I do find disturbing however is seeing an employee use a broom to sweep off crumbs from a table. Disappointed in this Panera. I ordered several items to go and they messed up an item and left several items out. I noticed that they gave me the wrong item, so I went back in and had them switch it. The man working behind the counter did not once apologize. I then get home and realize they did not give us any of the chips or bread we were supposed to get. Every Panera I have ever ordered to go from has someone at the counter checking the items and marking it off on the receipt. The girl who gave me the bag simply taped the receipt to the bag and handed it to me. I'll be going to a different Panera from now on. read more

At 11:45, my co-worker and I ordered Panera, the sandwiches were not in the bag. We called the mgr immediately after realizing mistake and was promised a driver would deliver sandwiches but 2 hrs later (and two deliveries to this bldg), still no sandwiches. 2nd call, the mgr couldn't find the order so he was reluctant to make restitution. Seriously! Who lies about a 1/2 of a Panera sandwich. At 3:30, the sandwiches were finally delivered. Next lunch, Jersey Mike's or Primo Hoagies. That's my future "pick 2". read more

I was here for breakfast while waiting for stores to open. As there was quite a lot of people we ordered customised breakfast sandwiches and coffee from the booth. It came out fast and was really tasty! The staff was super nice. My parents are visiting from Spain and the waiters were very friendly with them. We even got a free pastry! The only downside was that the light roasted coffee at the prep station was a bit cold. Definitely will come here if I ever shop again at Leesburg outlets! read more

First time here. Made a last minute, walk-in, large carryout lunch request thinking I would have to wait forever. The cashier and manager came out together and took my rather complicated order. Food is good, but not great. Wifi is just awful. A tin can connected with a string to the internet would be faster. Unfortunately for restaurants like Panera, Internet speed is what a lot of mobile professionals look for. I've been to two Paneras in Leesburg and this one twice. Both are painfully slow. So, I will be looking for another restaurant that can accommodate my need to both work and eat. read more

As a fan of Panera, I am shocked and appalled at how utterly nasty this location is. It is 3:30 p.m. On a Sunday and surely someone HAS to recognize the need to clean...tables are nasty (we were one of four parties that I saw cleaning their own tables); the Ladies Restroom is anything but ladylike and the floors look like they have not been swept in days. Makes you think twice about eating here! I bothered to mention the condition of the store to the cashier (only person who actually appeared to be working) and got "Oh, yeah...we know!" Seriously??? It pains me to give this bad review but this place has really gone down hill. It took us 20 minutes this morning to order and get our food. And there was only one person in line ahead of us. Other workers walked by, including managers, but the woman at the counter was the only one helping customers and she was slow and talkative. Even when the customer ahead of us left, she started working on a call in order and didn't take ours for about five more minutes. The place is also getting worn and dirty. I come to this location very often and I get great service every time. However, my latest visit left a sour taste in my mouth. I had ordered a Mac and cheese bread bowl. Now, I don't know if this is all the time or every location, but every time I have gotten a bread bowl with soup or something they always fill the bread bowl all the way up and is accompanied by a smaller bowl of extra soup. But this time when I got my meal, the bread bowl was filled up barely even halfway. I took one bite into it and it was straight up cold. Not even lukewarm. Cold. My friend offered to take it back and have them fix it, so I let her. She then comes back with it and said she told them it was cold and there wasn't enough in there and asked if they could add more and heat it up. The worker gave my friend a face as if she didn't believe her, but took it anyways and stuck the bowl into the microwave. I will say, I don't know how they make their Mac and cheese, but sticking it in the microwave seems very tacky to me. Nothin'; but love for this place! Actually, I've been to several Paneras in NoVA and have yet to eat a bad meal! I can't actually have any of the sandwiches due to wheat gluten problems, but love how customizable all the salads are. They taste good, and incorporate choices that make me excited to eat salad again! And the Pick 2 soup and salad combination provides a full meal that doesn't leave you feeling bloated or weighed-down. My only suggestions would be to have gluten-free sandwich choices - or better yet, lettuce wrapped ones; and a make-your-own salad option. I also like that you can get a full meal for under ten dollars and the self-serve kiosks are nice, Wish there was a way to use cash with them, though. read more

Food is always good but the service is awful. Every time Ive been in there the staff is different people and short staffed. Ive ordered online multiple times and almost 75% of the time there is something wrong with it. Whether it be missing a yogurt for my daughter or not taking off red onions off a sandwich etc etc. i understand when your busy it can get crazy however when I usually order online there is NO ONE there as far as traffic. Just this morning it took them an hour to heat up oatmeal. They were short staffed on a Sunday morning? Lots of "sorry about the wait" or "sorry about that" flying around to customers. First time at Panera in years. Both me and my sister ordered our food to go. The order did not come out as expected and Jill, a worker, went above and beyond to help make our experience memorable. First, she immediately brought my sister a full salad after realizing that the half salad she ordered was the wrong one. Then my sister noticed her pastry was not in the bag and Jill offered her to look and pick out any other pastry she wanted. She was able to fix our mistakes while also managing to run all the food! The simple errors were undoubtedly forgotten after the excellent customer service we received!! Great experience !! read more

As much as I love Panera in general, I would give this particular one a zero stars if I could. They failed to deliver a catering order made several days in advance. It was my daughter's birthday party and I had a playground facility booked for a limited period of time. When it had been about half an hour and food wasn't arriving, I called. First, nobody was picking up. When they finally did, I was put on hold for 30 minutes! An arrogant man who didn't even bother introducing himself dryly told me the order was on its way. No apology, nothing. We were already very much behind schedule with the party and I was getting upset. My husband jumped in then and ended the conversation by canceling the whole order and we got food from elsewhere. We were refunded but that hardly compensate for a screwed event and the utter lack of professionalism and manners on their side. I am extremely disappointed and definitely will not be going back! read more
