This is a 3.5 star review. I mean it's Panera: free parking, free wifi, lots of options, back open with longer hours, relatively yummy and healthy fast food. However, I've noticed a decline at this location...not that clean, not that serious, always someone new at the register. A few other changes: no more light up pods for food so listen for your name to be yelled. They don't ask your choice of chips, apple or bread, so go back and get what you want. May mess up your soup order or not let you know the salads can have more than one kind of greens. There's no discount for taking chicken off salad and when did ALL of the salads get chicken anyway...idk maybe it was me but it was also a weird visit. I like patronizing local establishments but this was more of a gentle a reminder that I have most of these ingredients at home.

No care preparing your food. I'll post a pic below. There were a host of bugs that were flying all around the food due to a sewer problem, we were told. That means all of the bugs that were flying around the food and landed on the food were sewer bugs. I ordered a balsamic salad. It was absolutely gross with the bottom part of the lettuce in my salad and look like bugs initially and later to confirmed they were in my salad. After asking management, why were the bugs all over their uncovered food we were told that corporate disallowed coverings or plastic wrap over the food. We were told that renovations were pending.

I'm enjoying the squash soup and new margarita flatbread pizza Tables are spaced apart Some tables are folded up and pushed to the side so that is space between the remaining tables for social distancing I felt comfortable and safe The squash soup is very tasty and hearty. Really good winter soup I ordered the bowl size The margarita flatbread pizza is nice and cheesy Glad to be back here again

When Panera Bread first started, a lot of people enjoyed it because of the pick two combos. Choosing a half of a various options was a great concept. Other cafes and restaurants now offer it as well and they generally have better selections and better flavored food; so for that reason it's been a while since i've been to Panera. I generally only return in the fall/winter because that's when they have the autumn butternut squash soup. This vegetarian soup is delicious with excellent flavors and pumpkin seeds added for extra flavor. Overall, it's a great fall/winter soup One thing I did notice this time is that usually when i've ordered pickup it's just placed on the shelf and anyone can come and pick it up, but this time it was behind the counter (not sure if it was a change or because i was late in picking up my order)

Typical Panera food, in the dirtiest, poorest run Panera I've ever visited. When we walked up to the order counter, one staff member was there. She left after the person two ahead of us ordered. We waited, along with the party ahead, and a couple new arrivals behind us. Finally someone walked out from the back and asked if we'd been helped. Once we ordered, I inquired about the .99 bakery add-on. She said I could pick out anything from a nearly empty case. When I pointed that out to her she said that I could have a cookie... from the bagged cookie display that was sitting with the back of the bags facing the customer area. How difficult would it be to face the display towards the customer? Order finally in, we looked for a table. The one we wanted was recently vacated (I saw a party there when we walked in), so I inquired if it had been sanitized (Covid appears to be alive and well in 2021). A gentleman who appeared to be a manger assured me that they sanitize all tables between guests, then asked me if I'd like it cleaned again. Thankfully I let him do it because we didn't see a single table cleaned the whole time we were there! Oh, filthy restrooms, too. If all Panera locations are this bad, they won't survive the pandemic.

tripping hazard from un-repaired ceiling leak

So disappointed in Panera on Vets in Metairie - who's minding the store? Who gives a hoot? Do i really have to give one star?! Don't expect a receipt when ordering from the kiosk, and don't expect someone to even call your name when your processed Cisco/Sam's frozen entree level meal is ready. From hazardous perils when you walk in (Vets entrance) to sticky goo around drink station to dirty dishes to bathroom funk, it's just unbelievable ! If you like eating in an environment that would make a frat house look tidy, go for it - - otherwise BEWARE!

The temperature was hot in the place. For goodness sake, it's June in Metairie and you serve soup.... turn the air conditioner temp down.

I ordered the shrimp pho and was pleasantly surprised. The broth was light but still packed with flavor. It didn't feel heavy, but it still hit the spot. They were generous with the shrimp. They were a good size and there were plenty of them. I left full and satisfied. The space itself is cute and tucked into a tiny strip mall, nothing over the top but still a nice vibe for a casual meal. Service was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The only downside was that they were out of quite a few items. The staff mentioned it was because we came on the later side of the early evening (around 4 pm), which felt a little early to be running low, but not a dealbreaker. Overall, a solid find and I'll return the next time I'm in town.

Though I am…read morehappy to get a chance to be the first to review Vintage Garden Kitchen on Yelp, because this is an absolute *gem* of a business, and everyone in the world needs to know about it. Yesterday afternoon, I saw a tweet reminding people to place orders before 4pm, because today (Wednesday) is the day they deliver - yes, that's right, deliver! - their jars of amazingly delicious, healthy, vegetarian-friendly, locally sourced, and [insert list of superlatives and synonyms for the word awesome] soup. Straight from their garden, via the kitchen, to your door. Thanks to the reminder on Twitter, I placed my order online yesterday afternoon for four pints of soup: Fiery Shiitake Mushroom and Barley; Moroccan Chickpea Stew; Rustic Vegetable Bean; and Vegan Lentils and Greens. Each pint comes in a re-usable mason jar, and when you collect six of those, you get a free pint of soup with your next order! Brilliant: it's savvy (saves the business money), and green, and convenient. There's so much win here that I'm having a hard time putting it into words. Long story sort: The Vintage Garden Kitchen is an Arc Enterprises Company, meaning that not only do they provide amazing food (AND DELIVER IT TO YOUR DOOR!), but also, in doing so they provide employment for adults with developmental disabilities. (They're one of the businesses run by the nonprofit Arc of Greater New Orleans.) I've seen the garden where they grow all the food that is used to make these amazing soups, and it blows my mind that food this fresh, this nutritious, and this beautifully convenient is available in New Orleans. But wait, it gets better: their food is shockingly affordable. A half pint of, say, Moroccan Chickpea Stew feeds 2 people, and costs $4.99. The minimum order for delivery is $15, so for four pints I paid about $22.00, and it was delivered the very next day. How. Awesome. Is. That. Seriously. They deliver every Wednesday between 10am and 2pm, and orders must be placed before 4pm on Tuesday to ensure delivery. They deliver to 70001, 70005, 70115, 70118, 70119 (yay!), 70124, and 70125. Again, the minimum order for delivery is $15 (so, approximately three pints, or two quarts, blah blah math and stuff). They take credit cards, it's easy to place an order online, and you can also order in two other ways. Either pre-order for pick-up (and you can come get your soups between 8am and 4pm M-F), or if you don't want to pre-order, you can simply stop by during business hours. Walk-ins are welcome, too! So...yeah. Amazing, amazing, amazing. I'm so glad the Vintage Garden Kitchen exists. I highly recommend you give them a try. Then you, too, can write your very own rave review of this freaking awesome local business. Well done, Vintage Garden Kitchen. Well done. And THANKS!

Once I got settled in, I looked at Yelp for a recommendation to eat. I was near so many great places to dine but Pho Michael won, despite the negative reviews. I was greeted warmly when I entered and allowed to pick where I sat. The feel inside was interesting, as Michael Jackson was playing but the decor reminded me of an Asian restaurant. It was clean though. I ordered a sweet tea which they add a sweetener when you order it. I won't get this again. I ordered the spring rolls with shrimp, which many reviews called them small. These rolls were so big they could almost serve as an entree. They tasted so fresh and the peanut sauce accompanied them well. For my main dish, I ordered the pho with filet mignon. It's one of their popular dishes so I figured it would be okay. When they placed a steaming hot bowl of pho in front of me, I knew I had a made a solid decision. I added a tad of hoisin sauce along with the sprouts, basil and jalapeños. The beef broth was sooooooo good as well. Only regret I had was a smaller portion wasn't offered. I ordered the smallest size available but it was so much. I tried to eat it all but couldn't lol. Service was top notch, as my server and another gentleman checked on me but didn't hover. This is a place I would visit again no matter where in New Orleans I stay.

I went with the half oyster po-boy and gumbo combo. The sandwich turned out pretty well, with a good amount of fried oysters that were clearly cooked fresh rather than sitting for a while. Pretty good bread too. The gumbo was a disappointment though. I guess I've spent too much time on the bayou down through the years, because anytime a bowl of gumbo shows up without a scoop of potato salad in it I'm disappointed. Worse still, this gumbo was flavorless, bland and completely lacking of spice. Were it not for the dark color, I would have not been able to tell the difference between this and the sort of store-bought gumbo that comes from a can. The server kept an eye on me and my drink of choice, so props for that. Also, beware going to the restroom here, as the door doesn't seem to lock.
