I went into Panera to grab a quick meal. When walked in I saw the line extremely long because there was only one cashier. I finally got my order taken and I went to grab my food. I waited over 30 minutes for my food; people who had ordered after me were already receiving their food. As I was waiting I noticed the only working waitress eating at the same time she was serving seated customers. I also noticed that she took the time to socialize with coworkers. After almost 45 minutes of waiting for my food I got into my car and opened what was the wrong sandwich. I went back inside to get the correct sandwich. After I spoke with the manager and employee starting cursing at the manager and the manager did nothing about it; it almost seemed like she was scared of him! This experience has proven that I will not be returning. read more

I like the food, but the service is horrible. This place will literally have a line out the door and only one person on the register taking orders. The rapid pick up is never ready on time and if you order a drink they have to make they don't get started on it until the rest of the order is complete. When I think of an easy lunch, I think of panera. I love their half sandwich, half salad combos. The Asian chicken salad is delicious, light and refreshing. I am a fan of just about any of the sandwiches. You can choose from three sides: Apple, chips or bread. The bread is a dense, delicious carb bomb and pairs better with soup or salad so you don't feel too heavy when you leave. read more

So I ordered dinner online for my family and had it to pick up at later time. I chose to pick it up at 7:10. We got to the panera at 7:20 and our order was not even ready or made. In fact we had to wait 30 minutes. I tried to call and the phone just rings and rings. The order online and pick up time is a JOKE! Used to be really good like 10 years ago. Slowly went down a bit. The portions got smaller and the food seems put together more lazily. I don't go here anymore for those reasons. My son got a "grilled cheese" and it just looked like lightly toasted bread with toasted cheese on top. The bread didn't even stick together and the cheese didn't melt. Great place for lunch. The soups are premade but consistent and perfect for a quick lunch. The salads all have fresh ingredients. I have tried pretty much every sandwich and they are all tasty and a little better than what you would expect from a chain restaurant. My only complaint was my last visit I did the pick two (half a sandwich and half soup). I chose soup and sandwich (turkey bacon and avocado). Half a sandwich which was smaller than any other half sandwich I had ever had there and was $5.88 for half a sandwich (two bites), overpriced!! All other half sandwich's are like $3 and change. One small slice of avocado does not constitute $2 increase. read more

It's the only Panera Bread in the area and thankfully it's of decent size. I had the soba noodle broth bowl which was great. Can't speak of the coffee or pastries but seems on par with most other Panera's. The lines can get long at dinner time, but due to the limited dining options in the area, I'm not that surprised. read more

Nothing wrong at this restaurant. We stopped here twice in the past two weeks and enjoyed both visits. The food is good as long as you read the fine print to know what you're getting. There is one good customer experience that you don't get at other locations. Since there is always a line, once you place your order you get a number and you can go to a table and they will bring your food to you. No need stand waiting for your food at the counter. Fresh, pretty fast even when there is a huge line almost out the door (every lunch), and pretty well priced. Like that you can choose your sides. Soups and Mac & cheese are a lot salty. Coffee is acceptable. The pastries usually are pretty awesome. I almost always get the half Greek salad and turkey sandwich. Sourdough bread I think is the best around! I tried the Rapid Pick Up for the first...And last time. I haven't been to Panera in years bc of the prices, but am tired of greasy fast food. I ordered a sandwich, drink and cookie, the only think that was in the bag was the thrown together sandwich. I obviously noticed the missing drink right away and had to juggle to get it myself, but I didn't notice the missing cookie till I left. Worst chain I've been to. The lady manager was very smug. The employees were generally your typical staff at any restaurant. Not above and beyond but not rude either. Very dirty. I've noticed a lot of manager changes and that's never a good sign. Get the old managers back.. Been going to this Panera regularly to grab dinner and coffee/bagels while studying. While food and service has been mediocre, couldn't complain until now, since they offered a decent place to study. Today I walked in during lunch time to grab a bite and study for a few hours. Immediately upon walking in, I received glaring eyes from a manager (who I later learned was a regional manager). His unbroken stare and judgement followed be around the store as I looked for a seat. I decided to wait in the enormously long line for a bit while tables cleared, and as one did, I went to sit. The line was growing by the second, and moving at a snail's pace. I decided to pull up my computer and order using the "Order from my table" feature. After not even 2 min of sitting, I was approached by another manager who rudely says, "you can't sit if you're not ordering anything." Already taken aback by the lack of customer service, I kindly explained that I was in the process of ordering from my computer, and even showed the manager my computer screen as proof. The manager responded with, "Oh yea? Well what are you going to order?" ...EXCUSE ME?! I was shocked and surprised beyond belief that the manager convinced himself that what I was thinking of ordering, was his business. I remained kind and professional, and he proceeded to tell me that the gentleman that was staring at me since I walked in was his "district manager" and that he had a problem with me taking up space in his Panera. On a positive note, most of the other employees(non-management) is often very kind and helpful. read more

The food is just like any other Panera, but they are ALWAYS out of items. If you order rapid pick up your food won't be ready when they say it will or they haven't put it out so you still have to wait on the line and ask for it. Service is iffy one day it will be someone pleasant the next day someone rude. read more

Well this is another chain that is trendy and in general is good but the problem is portion/price ratio. The food is good the atmosphere is nice, trendy, casual and small. The menu is interesting but you can find something you'd like to try. the "Bread" is often tough so I like to get things 'toasted'. The selection is versatile and even things like the soups and bakery goods are nice. I don't eat here often but once in a while. The staff is pretty good and like other retail places it's hit or miss when it comes to attitude. read more

Vegetarians watch out!!! My wife has been a huge fan of Panera Breads for several years. It is a treat for the kids when we are out and about and always good for a quick bite when nothing else is near. While I did observe in many towns that the overall cleanliness of Panera locations has faded and that the appearance is often that of a now older, less cared for restaurant, I have still enjoyed the food. Until last week, that is. My wife's vegetarian black bean soup was filled with mushy bacon bits and I am not sure how many of those she ate... after years of not eating meat! The waitress excitedly informed my wife that the mystery ingredient was indeed bacon, until she saw that my wife was fishing it out of a vegetarian soup, which left her somewhat embarrassed. She was kindly offered a different dish but she is now questioning the cross-"contamination" of foods at that location, the respect of dietary choices/restrictions of the customer, and her overall trust in their listed ingredients etc. To me personally, this was a matter of disgust but to many others this might be a matter of serious allergies or even religious restrictions. I only like 2 or 3 things at Panera, but the things I like I REALLY like, so I order there a lot. My only complaint with this location is the inconsistency. Sometimes the salads are normal, sometimes there's like 3 lettuce leaves and a POUND of chicken. Today my sandwich that I've had tons of times before had barely a half a slice of cheese, and the egg white was twice the normal size. Sometimes I get 2 dressings, sometimes 1. I actually had to take a salad back once because they made it wrong, and the replacement salad container was only half full...and that's the small size! It's the only one close by, so I will keep coming here, but I really wish they would buy their staff some measuring spoons or something. read more

Very understaffed. 2 people at the register and the line is literally out the door. I waited online for 15 mins, and then an additional 20+ mins for my food. When I asked the runner what happened to my food he responded "a bunch of other people are in front of you". Oh ok. I told him my vanilla cupcake tasted off and he said "yeah I don't like it either." This place refused to serve me Mac and cheese at 10:30 am because pouring the Mac and cheese from the plastic pouch it comes in and heating it up in the microwave is too difficult before 11am. Considering I've never had this problem at other Panera's I will go for lunch elsewhere and never return to this location. I guess my money doesn't matter. read more

1/9: Had dinner in Middletown Panera. Ordered a chicken and kale salad and a tomato soup. The salad looked sort of lacking in content, but tasted ok. The bread was so hard. Ouch. Restaurant is pretty cool. My first time & my experience was great. As i read the menu almost every employee asked me if i needed help just to make sure i wasnt just standing there being unhelped. This darkskin girl i think her name was Nicki or Nichi she was very nice & helpful at the register with her suggestions. She asked me what i like in my sandwiches then helped me order the perfect meal which was delicious by the way. I believe i had the bacon turkey bravo with the broccoli cheddar soup... AMAZING!!!! Did i mention they bring your food to you when you dine in? I had the sweetest girl she told me her name was Mimi bring me my food, & she came and checked on me about every 10mins to make sure everything was ok with me and i was enjoying my food, she even got me a cup of water since i didnt get a beverage. i just signed up for a "My Panera card" which the cashier suggested so i could get a free pastry on my next visit. I love panera bread but this one is by FAR the worst panera ive ever been to. It took me about 45 mins just to get a soup & a salad, & when I finally got my food there were several blonde pieces of hair in my food, i was automatically disgusted. Like I literally pulled out like 3 strains of blonde hair from my soup. I seen most employees wearing a hat but the 1 employee i saw with blonde hair actually did not have a hat on. Im not sure if she was a manager but she had on a colored shirt so I assumed she was one. I asked one of the employees if i could speak to her but when the employee came back he came back with the manager who told me his name was Jim. Jim was really nice but wasnt really much help. He asked me if i wanted another soup but at that point i was so disgusted i didnt want anything. I said no so he then said ok & gave me a refund. "OK" was all i got. I felt like he should've tried to figure out who's hair was in my food so she could tie her hair up properly, or at least make sure everyone is wearing a hat or hairnet, like that was seriously disgusting read more

The reason I am giving this store a 1 is every time I order to go there is a problem. I do not get complicated items but always something is missing or not properly prepared. Today I entered at 12:45 PM my order check no. 343628 was taken at 1:05:23 PM and I picked it up at 1:30pm ...seriously. One Italian combo sandwich, nothing else 25 minutes to prepare and hand over. I got home and no chips and no peppers which makes the sandwich. Over the years I used to get large onion soup-no more. Always a problem whether no cheese or dumped in before soup or container not secured. In past I have received wrong sandwich or a half and this is just one item Check your order as best as you can they are very careless with orders and slow. read more
