We recently moved to this area. We have always ordered the online take out from Panera Bread, but since moving to this area we have been extremely disappointed. The first two times our pick up order wasn't ready at the time it was promised. The third time I decided to add an extra 10 minuted before picking up my order, and they forgot our bakery item. We went a fourth time with a very large order and they finally got it all right, but I scolded my husband to check the bag before leaving, and we are not that type at all. I placed a catering order with them for a future date and am keeping my fingers crossed all goes well with that. I may call them to make sure it doesn't get fudged up! read more

Under-rated. I will say that the way I rate is based off of my expectations for the place. Example, a medium priced chain restaurant with hot meals. I would give a 4 /4, for meeting my expectations as readily as I would give a Michelin rated famous restaurant for serving something really fabulous. There are a lot of Paneras and Panera like franchises (Au Bon Pain, etc). I've found though this particular Panera has been pretty decent. While the waitress staff have been mixed. They have hired a lot of workers to help during heavy hours and this store gets a lot of activity around lunch time. I come here and pick up the you pick twos (approx $7.00 after tax). My favorites are Broccoli Cheddar soup and the Chipotle Chicken. The portions of the sandwich halves are pretty big so it's enough for a regular whole sandwich (about the size of two fists). The toasting is quick. The regular breads are also nice but a bit pricey. They last a while. I would recommend this place for a quick meal. I have not had any issues thusfar from eating here. read more

The reason for my low review is the EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful manager, Gary Ford. Our food was delivered to the wrong address and he declined to give us a refund and rudely hung up on us on the phone. Tried to order on line as usual, but site kept returning us to the map. So called in order. When I explained we weren't able to order on line, personal taking order remarked other people were able to. He was impatient when taking our order and never asked if we wanted chips, apple or bread with order. Turkey chili was more like soup. Avacado in chicken cobb salad was brown and lettuce was not fresh. Don't think we will be ordering from Panera in near future even though we are regular Friday customers! read more

I thought that Panera's soup and gas-log fireplace would be just the thing on the cold and rainy day that we visited this restaurant. As I walked in I notice that the fire was not lit (a bad omen). While standing directly in front of a register to order, the person behind the counter looked past me to ask the people in back of me for their order. After taking their order, he left the station. Then the only other person taking orders then left her station. Finally, the young lady came back and took our order. When I paid for our order, the credit card reader prompted me about leaving a tip. I had never seen this before at any Panera, and I don't think it is appropriate for a self-serve restaurant. I declined to add a tip to our bill. We took our pager and waited for our order. There were few other customers in the restaurant. After a inordinately long wait, I inquired about our order at the pickup counter. The person at the pickup counter asked for our pager number and said that he would take care of it. We finally got our order, and it was fine. I'm confident that we would have waited much longer if I hadn't inquired. There was another lady waiting at the pickup counter when we made our inquiry. After we had finished eating we noticed that she was still waiting. When we were leaving, that lady was back at the order area trying to get information about her order. I've always liked this chain's food for lunch. I would give it four stars for the food, but the service at this particular Panera is terrible. read more

I make pretty large online orders (10+ meals) for work and because I knew it would take a while, I chose pick-up time for one hour later. I go in 5 minutes early and they tell me it'll be 10-15 min. We have a set lunch time so I don't have much time to spare really, but still waited anyways. The order doesn't come out until almost 20 min. after my pick-up time. I am aware that lunch time can get busy but I put in the order way ahead of time. It should't take over an hour to put my meal together. Or if it won't be ready, have someone call to let me know. Something. The guy hands me my order and says "thanks for being patient." The end. I think wording here is very important and that was a poor choice. That honestly does not sound like an apology. On top of that, I realized when I arrived at my office that they forgot a meal. I had to drive back to get it. This is unacceptable. Prices are not cheap here. Like someone else mentioned (that corporate obviously does not care about), Panera is not fast food. Therefore, patrons should be getting better service. That's what we're paying for. read more

I went to get an order to go for lunch at 3 in the afternoon and was extremely disappointed. My boyfriend got a steak panini and a French onion soup. We left with our food and when we got home, we saw that only 1/4 of the panini was covered in meat and the rest just nothing but bread (not even cheese). This franchise went from wonder to ugh since it opened. I used to make excuses to go to Panera to ogle the gorgeous, wholesome food and mount-watering, baked goods. Now, the food doesn't even look good when you get up close and personal. My latest meal prompted me to write a "that does it" kind of review. I haven't dined here in awhile because the food got pricier while the quality and presentation seemed to go downhill. The first thing I noticed is how expensive this once-affordable eatery has gotten. I was hopeful that this would be a sign that possibly the quality and portions of the food had gone up as well. Ha! I ordered the tuna salad sandwich and received a thin spate of mushy mess between two stale pieces of bread. Where's the tuna, you penny-pinching morons? I know the place has a moron for management because while I was standing and waiting for my food, the manager was loudly berating his staff for eating while working - right in front of me! Double-ugh! The one star is for a worker who cheerfully offered to take our unsightly plates for us when we finished our food. The manager kept walking by. He should have stopped and asked how he was doing. But would you have expected that sort of thoughtfulness from management after reading this far? Have gone to this location several times. The staff is always polite and welcoming even when it is a busy weekday lunch hour. Some favorites of Panera in general include: black bean soup, vegetable soup with pesto, Asian chicken salad, Thai chicken salad, tuna salad sandwich, Cuban panini, Napa almond chicken salad sandwich. I recently tried a soba noodle bowl with chicken and it was yummy. Perfect size with a side of baguette. And I absolutely love the strawberry poppyseed chicken salad. Wish it was around all year!! Losing one star because of cleanliness - always seems to be a lot of crumbs on the floor! Second star lost because the bakery area is rareky well stocked. read more

I used to visit the Panera in Wayne often when I worked out there. This Panera pales in severe comparison to that Panera and the General Manager should take notes. The only reason I came to eat here was because I was meeting up with some girlfriends to a quick "hey, how are you?" night. First of all, the staff isn't very pleasant. When I ordered, there was no please, thank you, nothing. I had to present THEM with my Panera card, nobody asked me for it. Tip: if you don't like your job, find a new one. If you have personal issues, leave them at the door. You are here to serve the public, at least look like you somewhat enjoy what you do. They also got my order wrong, which, I later realized was why it was more expensive than I thought it was going to be. They also didn't ask if I would like desert, offer anything else.. nothing. When you go to Panera in Wayne, and you show them your card, they make it a habit to say your name.. "Thank you Sue, we hope you enjoy your lunch/dinner. Come see us again." Some kind of pleasantry that makes you WANT to come back. Second, the food is just awful. The only thing palatable was the small 3" piece of french bread I got on the side. I asked for the Pick 2. I went with the basic chicken noodle and a big kids grilled cheese. It was supposed to be a half sandwich and I got a whole one. The soup was luke warm and so salty I felt like I was drinking sea water. It had little to no taste other than the salt. For all I know, it was dish water and not chicken broth. The big kids grilled cheese was awful. It literally tasted like I was eating the side of a box that holds musty paper. ONE single slice of orange cheese between two pieces of super stale white bread, pressed down in a panini maker. It was so hard, I literally had to hit the sandwich with my fist to break it apart and then dip the pieces in the salty sea water to make them somewhat easy on the mouth to eat. I was honestly afraid I was going to break my tooth. I'm guessing they don't do quality control in their kitchen. I will gladly steer clear of this place and either go to Plymouth Meeting or Trooper Road. Not worth my time, energy or hard earned money to eat here. read more

If you've been to one Panera Bread you've been to them all. Their sister company Paradise Bakery out in Scottsdale, Arizona is far more original, fresh and interesting. I did enjoy sitting by the fire in a leather chair while waiting for a friend to arrive, but other than that it's the same old experience. read more

This Panera is one of my favorites I'm a very picky eater but the food and staff here have never disappointed.

I have a serious gluten intolerance, it makes me very sick to my stomach and I've been told not to eat it AT ALL by my doctor. I ordered a salad that was supposed to be "safe" according to their website, so I didn't bother to make a note on my order about being gluten free...it shouldn't matter at all with the salad made with it's usual ingredients. Well thankfully I was paying attention because I found at least one wonton noodle, which DOES have gluten in it. Now tell me why that's in a Fuji Apple CHicken salad? You may not think it's a big deal to accidentally add an ingredient in your salad but you can make people seriously ill this way. read more

They scrimp on the salads, even the lettuce! When I go to have it made, they dish it out right in front of me and I am lucky if the bowl is 3/4 full-with toppings. Then they put dressing on top of the salad which smushes it down to half a bowl. When you say something to workers, they get all annoyed and won't do it. I have to complain to HQ every time and sometimes they issue me a credit. If they would do it right in the first place, they would probably make more money. When you go to a restaurant, the salads are overflowing so why pay $10 for a $5 meal? read more

If I could give this Panera a 0 star, I would. I work about a mile away from this Panera, so I (unfortunately) have been here quite a lot. Lets say I've been here 50 times. Well 47 of those times, my order has been screwed up. They forget things, they make special orders totally wrong. They constantly forget the chicken in my salad. They forget pastries. They even once old me that I didn't place an online order. When I showed them my email receipt! Mind you, I have complained a couple of times, and never have I been offered anything for it.They just come up with an excuse. So, today I ordered an Ancient Grain Chicken and Arugula salad. I love everything in the salad, minus the pumpkin seeds. So I ordered it without pumpkin seeds. I went online before I ordered to double check what the ancient grain blend is. I found it is a "blend of ancient grains" obviously. A mix of barley, farro, and some other ancient grains. Well, I get to work and my salad has no grapes (which comes in the salad) 2 dressings (when I ordered 3), walnuts and sunflower seeds (which are not mentioned anywhere in the description). So, I leave the dressing at work, and I go back to Panera to just ask them to put grapes in it. I get there and ask the general manager if he would put grapes in my salad. He looks at me like I have 5 heads. I tell him there are supposed to be grapes in the salad. He looked at my receipt and started to tell me I asked for it without grapes. I said the only thing I asked for it without is pumpkin seeds. So he gives my salad to one of the employees (who I might add, has been rude to me on several occasions.) Then I asked the manager if the ancient grain blend was a blend of farro and barley. He said yes. Then I asked why there were sunflower seeds and walnuts in there. He told me that was the ancient grain blend. Last time I checked, sunflower seeds and walnuts weren't in the description of the ancient grain blend, nor are they even grains...Then the woman says (rudely) "umm, did you see that she removed the gravy" (i'm guessing she meant dressing). I'm sorry. I thought I PAID for the dressing. Also, I asked for 3 dressings and only got two. So really, I should've been asking for more, but I didn't. She adds the grapes and I leave. When I get back to the office, I noticed she must've thrown the actual ancient grain blend in there too because it it was on top of the grapes. So, I will be returning to this Panera one more time, that is, to get this rude woman's name. Clearly she was not just having a bad day, because every experience I have had with her has been a negative one. It is a shame, because every other Panera I go to, I have a positive experience. This is the only one that is negative. I do have to say, there are two cashiers that are always pleasant and helpful. One is a male but I forget his name (when I go back, I will find out his name too, I have written positive reviews about him before) and the other is a female named Octavia. Every interaction I have had with these two has been a positive one. I understand that the food business is tough, and I know how busy Panera gets at lunch time. But it is ridiculous that my order is wrong 94% of the time, and I never receive an apology. read more

I have been a long time customer of this Panera. I don't know what's going on over there but in the passed two months I have ordered numerous salads and every time there is something missing;either chicken on my salad or dressing. Friday I spent my entire lunch break driving back to pick up my dressing. They are under staffed and slow Management is lacking in all aspects. This morning will be my last time going to this Panera I did an online order for my office this morning and went to use my code for 50% off my order and it didn't work So I called and spoke to a girl. She said you have to do all orders online So I explained that I had but couldn't use the full 50% off online. She said well you have to do it online. I said I just did and it wouldn't take my code. I said can I please speak to a manager, she replied i am the manager. Then explained its no actually 50% off. It's 50% off of the maximum of $25 My order was over $60. PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have been a Panera customer since it opened. I buy their bread and pastries. Unfortunately I often buy lunch there also. I have had problems at every location. Their sandwiches are awful. I paid $10 for a steak and cheddar sandwich and a small iced tea. I do not get lettuce and tomato on my sandwiches. Because there are no vegetables disguising the meat I often find there is very little meat in the sandwiches. Last summer I bought a lobster roll that had a funky smell made me sick even though it had hardly any Lobster in it. Yesterday was another disappointment. I will never learn. Not so great. The staff is less-than-pleasant. the lines are long... the food is mediocre... there's never anywhere to sit... Everything is wet for some reason. I got a smoothie once and it was made from some weird liquid that came from under the counter - certainly nothing fresh about it. If you're getting takeout, it's a different experience. Usually decent service. Unfortunately not so much today. I probably would not have bothered to review them based on today's service because they are usually ok. It's 12 noon on a Friday and management has one cashier on the front counter. Apparently someone called out. One manager behind the counter helping prepare food(Gary) the second manager (Adam) placing stickers on bags(to go orders). I'm sure that ls extremely important. Adam doesn't appear to care that the line was long and Eliot was offering great service to two older ladies that required more time(great job on your part Eliot). To the management team I would suggest jumping on and off registers to help when the line gets backed up. While you are helping at the front have the staff members that are bagging the meals place the stickers on them. It's just my opinion that a costumer in front of you should take priority over a computer order. Yes I will be back. You probably would prefer that I don't come but I enjoy Panera. I also have no doubt that you know exactly who I am because I I asked you about it and your attitude was poor. I don't think you liked me voicing my concern. my wife is a huge fan of panera but today/4/23/17 was absolutely horrible!!! it first started with the cashier/ rude,ignorant & sloppy then we received our food/ my bagel was like a rock due to the fact the toaster was broke so the cashier grilled it/ big mistake.. then the coffee area had 4 selections that all were 2to 3 hrs. old & cold... then, my wife gets her pick two salad that had no dressing or apples.. the whole experience sucked!!! i should have went to the gem.. no stars from me!!!! read more

If you like coffe, fireplaces, books and other nerdy things....then this is the place to be. I like to go there and wear my nice dress slacks, rock a tie, sweater vest and my tweed sports coat. I even broke out my specs and chess board for this trip. When I got there, luck was smiling on me because the couch near the fireplace was not occupied. So I quick ran up to the counter and ordered a large coffee (you have to pour your own), a bagel with lemon butter (they don't have lemon butter but I ask everytime and then settle for jam) and a raspberry scone. Then I quick ran over to the couch near the fireplace and set up my chess board. Then I filled up my coffee and picked up my food. Unfortunately, no one came over to play a game of chess so I wound up sitting there and playing against myself for a about 45 minutes. Then I figured I should leave since it was getting pretty late. Also, I was prepared to talk to a girl tonight but none came and sat down near me. If I go again I'm going to talk to one and see if she likes chess (or if she's drinking a coffee I'll ask if she likes coffee since she probably does since she's already drinking one...then I can talk about that and then maybe bring up chess and offer for her to play a game near the fireplace). read more

This Panera bread is awful. I've gotten charged wrong here and their food is never good. The sandwiches are soggy or burned. Customer service is terrible here. Today I ordered a panini and there was a hair in the box it came in. I threw it right out and what a waste of money. I also ordered a decaf latte which I drank and now feel like crap. Whether the person who made the coffee was mad I specified decaf twice or maybe she just forgot...either way it wasn't decaf and now I have to spend the rest of my day with a headache and feeling terrible since I'm very sensitive to caffeine. Thanks pandera worker! Next time I'll drive out of my way to go to the one in conshohocken if I really want panera bread. read more
