They even have a private room in the back, where you can find people study in groups or just play table games; you won't find this in the Nassau street location. Do not come here. I was charged $3.49 for a water glass, then argued with by manager with illegible name tag. I paid with debit card and was refused cash back. Had to get credit card refund in 5 to 7 business days. I was also overcharged in other areas of menu to double the price of what the same order cost yesterday. The manager was rude as well. I declined all overcharges and asked for full refund. Again 5-7 business day wait for refund over $20 dollars. read more

I love the strawberry salad and it's only around for the summer. The veggie sandwich has changed a bit. The peppers are spicy so skip those if you aren't a fan of hot foods. Hummus is no longer cilantro flavored but still a great sandwich. read more

This Panera Bread is located right off Rt1 in West Windsor, NJ, Nassau Park Shopping Center. You all know with all the changes, they accept mobile orders, in store pickup and I also believe they will still bring it to your car when you arrive, you may want to just double check that though. I went for my normal Fuji Apple Chicken Salad with extra chicken, extra avocado, extra onion, no tomatoes and extra dressing. Very unhappy with the service & the food. Starting with service, it wasnt busy at all, maybe 15 customers and not a single napkin holder had napkins. The trash areas where you dump trash and plate/silverware had a mountain of trays like no one had collected them all day. No lids available for cups and faulty equipment for soda machine. Next onto the food, you can taste the quality deficits. To pay nearly $17 for a salad that is clearly a smaller portion than what we are accustomed to, with poor quality ingredients. The lettuce was not crisp, there was very light portion of chicken, (and i was not paying like $4 for more chicken) massive chunks of iceberg lettuce, and to top it off, the fruit cup I received was literally like half empty. I was not impressed, frankly disappointed in the lack of customer service, quality, and lack of cleanliness. It appears that management here have let their quality standards drop significantly. Every time I break down and return to Panera I feel like an Olympic marathoner testing my endurance just to get my hands on a sandwich and a tepid bowl of soup. For starters, I don't think I'm going to do well in a contactless, kiosk driven world - especially when human assistance comes in the form of a pitiable front-line "monitor" whose only function appears to be assuring me that my food will appear momentarily when we both know he has no clue as to it's whereabouts. Adding insult to injury is their constant upselling of cookies and gluten free gluten while I cool my heels waiting for food that is apparently being grown and harvested in real time. Like I said, miles to go before I eat. For all of their pretentious yapping about being "clean and sustainable" Panera should set their utopian aspirations a bit lower, like producing an order in less time than it takes to rebuild a transmission. Racism or pure laziness? After waiting 10 minutes in line behind one woman, the cashier gives me an attitude. But I let it slide, after all you're the one working for $8 an hour... not me. So After receiving my order which specifically said "no pickle" due to my allergy..... there's a pickle on my sandwich. This has happened 3 times at this location, so I go back in and ask to speak to the manager. The manager apologized and said he'll make it himself. So he "re-made" the sandwich......and left a nice little surprise in it. Not even bothering to go back for a complete refund which I should've gotten in the first place. I've been here several times in the past, but my Most recent visit was here for dinner with a friend. We came in around 8:30 PM for dinner. The cafe was fairly empty and quiet which was nice. I find that this specific Panera has a very nice ambiance and spacious seating accommodations. Both my friend and I placed our orders in the screens in the front of the cafe. I ordered a "You Pick Two" meal consisting of a half "Spicy Thai Chicken Salad" and a half "Frontega Chicken Panini." I switched out the chipotle mayo for white bean purée, which I an a huge fan of. I also ordered with a side of bread. Overall my meal was tasty, and I found that the sandwich portion was generous. I've had past issues where some sandwiches are made very inconsistently in size. However, this time my only issue was the taste and quality of the baguette. The baguette at Panera is a favorite of mine. However, this time the outside was very hard and tasted over cooked. Overall, my experience was good. The server who brought out our meals was friendly, and the orders were made accurately. I would recommend this specific Panera to anyone looking for a good cafe. read more

Came back here a few days back and the quality was quite a bit lower this time around. Food took quite a while and wasn't particularly tasty when it was finally ready (my wife's tuna sandwich tasted slightly sour and my chicken sandwich was a little flavorless) and the organization inside was kind of confusing. There were no obvious places to stand and they had walled off most of the restaurant, so people had to walk near each other to grab food, exit, etc. Not sure if I'll be back, as it really didn't hit the spot this time. read more

Positives- the salads were fine (hard to screw up salad) the team was helpful in replacing a baked food that my wife wanted. The team member on expo also was helpful in making sure everyone was getting their food- my wife and included. This is the only reason we aren't giving 1 star The negatives: We ordered to eat in the restaurant and they packaged our food to go. This could be an honest mistake but we wanted to eat out of plates and bowls, not waste a bunch of paper packaging, extra plastic. Additionally I get the impression our food was pre made, packaged and not made to order. Pretty much the team did what was convenient for them at the expense of the customer experience. Our sandwiches were gross. Wife ordered a chicken sandwich that came out tough, dry and the roll it was served on felt and tastes stale. I took the "turkey" off my sandwich. It was slimy gross looking and the texture was all wrong. If this was once turkey it wasn't by the time I got it. Don't eat here. They serve "For Here" food in go boxes, with no silverware (yes, for a soup) and you'd have to really beg for one. The person in the counter give an attitude that his kidney is asked. Placed our orders at 12:50 thru kiosk, there we no order chips so you could only put your name in. We waited 45 minutes for our orders. Restaurant was filthy. Table had not been wiped down, we had to do it ourselves. Used dishes stacked up at bus stations. Soda machine was out of Dr. Pepper & Pepsi. No Agave Lemonade, coffee was not fresh. Silverware that came with our food was not clean. We had to ask for plastic utensils. The friendly woman verified the address from my receipt, and then gave me the muffin. She told me that she would have them make the latte and then she would bring it to me. This was first time eating at this Panera location after their massive renovations and I was a huge fan of new ambience - a modern, bright layout with lots of white and wood decor. It felt like a trendy cafe instead of a large-chain eatery! I was also a fan of their new self-ordering iPad stations, which made it easier and quicker to personalize your meals and pick up a buzzer. After you place the buzzer on your table, the workers will come out and serve you your food, which was also a nice surprise. However, I wished I liked the food as much as Panera's new design concept, especially with their new menu items and more vegetarian options. But, I ended up leaving underwhelmed. We got the classic mac and cheese, and quinoa broth bowl with egg, and the new caprese sandwich. Their mac and cheese is always delicious and is one of my go-to meals when eating at Panera. However, I wasn't quite as satisfied with the quinoa bowl and caprese sandwich, both of which I was trying for the first time. The quinoa itself was good but I felt as if the miso broth was too lemon-y and sour. The first couple bites were good but the tangy broth grew overpowering after awhile. Additionally, the caprese sandwich was kind of flat and greasy, and didn't taste as fresh as I was expecting. Honestly I think Panera should stick to their classics - mac and cheese and their ever beloved tomato mozzarella panini, a fan favorite for vegetarians everywhere. Listen, I get it, we are in a pandemic and want to be safe. You refusing to have a cashier does not make us safer. It forces us to go to the kiosk and wait in an enclosed space with other people because they are so slow or don't even work. This is the 3rd time now. So I take my kids in for what I hope is a super fast dinner. Grilled cheese. It's going to be so quick and easy. Well, there are two kiosks, with 2 groups hovered around it wondering why they don't work. There's no one in sight to help them. 10 minutes into this fiasco, it took us 5 minutes to plead with the kid to allow us to order at the cashier. Finally, we convinced him they were broken. Ahhh...20 minutes in, I finally get to order (mind you, I was next in line when walked in). Well, when I order the grilled cheese, the kid behind the counter courteously (I know it's not his fault) that the only bread they have is tomato basil. Sorry, my kids haven't acquired the taste of basil yet. I'm out...20 minutes of my life I'll never get back. But on a side note, you are Panera Bread! How do you run out of bread? So we headed over to Wegmans to just get them pretzels. Wouldn't you know it, they were all out of pretzels, and every other type of bread thanks to the Hurricane. Girl at register didn't give an "f" about the customers when question was being asked because all she cared about was going on her break ( this was on 1/5/17 at 8:05 pm). There was a woman who was screaming at the top of her lungs outside one day. We notified the manager multiple times and told her to call the police. I also added a note that stated I was allergic to nuts ( can be seen in the attached photo). After I was delivered the salad to my table, I was almost half way done with my salad when I found a pecan. I asked to speak to a manager, not realizing the lady I was speaking to was the manager, & told her that I could've died if I had eaten the pecan, she then gave me another salad & a refund. Aside from a sometimes quiet place to read, work and the like, this Panera has really gone downhill. It wasn't that uphill to begin with, but now it is just awful. I would've given the place one star if there were no places to sit and work or what have you. The food is not like it used to be, I ordered a simple espresso and it took them a while to get it done and by the time I came and asked, it was cold. No one buzzed my pager or anything, I am very disappointed with Panera. The one in Princeton was just horrendous, poor management, poor service overall. No wonder the Panera on Nassau street closed down. I wonder how long this Panera will last if they maintain that kind of low level work and morale.
