I have eaten there too many times to count. However, recently they have changed the way they grill their paninis which turns them into hard inedible sandwiches. They no longer use the panini press. Just eyeballing it will tell you that it's vastly overdone. Recently, our family was there for lunch and ordered our favorite chicken frontega and was shocked to discover this new process that they now have. I brought the sandwich back to the counter hoping to see if they could switch it with a better version. The lady at the counter was rude and the staff inside made a comment about how I was going to "feel their love" in the next serving. I ignored the comment and brought the sandwich back to my 10-year-old for whom it had been ordered. A day later, my son was violently sick. He's never been that sick before. He was the only one who ate the sandwich that I got remade and he was the only one who got sick. Coincidence or correlation?! I'll let you decide. This place was recently revamped and it's really nice and chic now. The place has plenty of seat my space, you can come here order food and enjoy the ambience while you work or enjoy company. You can order on the kiosks and they bring your food right to you. The servers are courteous and more than often you get asked of how's everything. Overall, great experience! read more

Food poisoning 4/16/19 at 12:15 pm. I got food poisoning from the broccoli chedder soup at this NJ location. 2 Hours after eating at this Panera, vommitted and passed out. Paramedics/ambulance was called while at Princeton University. Soup obviously was not stored correctly or mishandled. Taken to Princeton medical hospital by ambulance. Their black bean soup is pretty good, but the bathrooms STINK. Be sure to use the bathroom and wash your hands elsewhere. SInce this aspect of the restaurant was not what I expected, I did a little survey of general cleanliness. Most tables were not being cleaned, and the floor was not pleasant to look at. I looked for a manager on duty, but no one wore a badge announcing that fact. I want to eat in an establishment that is proud of its cleanliness as well as it's tasty food. I've got mixed feelings for this Panera. My wife and I eat there most Sundays for lunch, and we enjoy the food. I've tried many different sandwiches and have found them all to be tasty. The side bread is generally that perfect mix of chewy middle and crunchy crust that I love. The French onion soup is consistently good. Although this Panera has some very busy times, it's usually possible to find a place to sit, especially in the warmer months with the patio outside. It's a decent atmosphere for a casual lunch. Unfortunately, this Panera suffers from poor service. The cashiers are pretty consistently apathetic. I understand that it may not be thrilling to work at Panera, but there is no friendly interaction with customers, no speed in taking orders, and they generally make you feel guilty for taking their time by wanting to order something. Also, the fountain machine routinely runs out of Pepsi, so beware. I like this Panera, and it's good for the food, but don't go if you're already feeling down about yourself. :-) read more

Panera is my go to "fast food". They typically do the rapid order and in 10 minutes my food is ready to be picked up. This particular visit my order was not ready nor did Panera see it in their system . Mike was so helpful, nice, and had great customer service . I come to Panera occasionally for a bagel and a latte. My favorite bagel at Panera is the cinnamon crunch, full of sweet crunch brown sugar bits and cinnamon. I prefer to use my own butter or cream cheese so I'm usually in and out. The service has always been friendly and quick. The lunch and dinner rush can be a little overwhelming. Try coming during off hours to avoid the crowds. read more

The location really is good, nestled between Target and Wegmans. The lines move VERY quickly and even though it looks long, it doesn't take very long for it to be your turn. I had the cream of tomato in a bread bowl, and it was delicious, and NOT spilling out of the bread ( I hate when I lose soup like that...). Back a couple of years later (I'm nothing if not forgiving, especially if a location is convenient) and, once again, I find the most poorly trained (or poorly staffed or poorly motivated) Panera store in the world. I've been to SO many of these, and they have ALL served me better and more efficiently than this Nassau Park Blvd. location. First off I will admit despite the issues I have with this Panera Bread location I have come here several times and most likely come here again in the future. Not because of anything other then the convenience when in the shopping center but also the decent prices. I've never been all that impressed with this particular store. The staff behind the counter never seems all that thrilled to be there and can seem a little annoyed by the fact they have to take your order. I've never had a rude encounter with anyone but they just seem very....uninterested. As for the food it can really be a hit or miss every time I go there. I've gone in on a monday afternoon and ordered a bowl of soup and maybe a bagel and been pretty satisfied with the order then go in on wednesday for brunch and ended up tossing my meal in the garbage half way through the meal. If your getting pretty hungry after a shopping venture in the shopping center and are in the mood for soup or a pastry, give this place a shot. This is by far the worst Panera I have ever been to. The last 3 times I have been there for lunch it has taken me around 30 minutes to get my food. I feel foolish even admitting that I went back twice more after a 30 minute wait but I really do like most Paneras and I kept hoping this one would change. Kudos to this Panera location for its upgrade! Its got a much better look inside while still making the same quality food I enjoy. I love how Panera seems to have found the perfect balance between self serve and full service dining. I order at my own pace on the pad, sit my pretty self down, and the food comes straight to my table. (how do you know?!?!) And just when im wondering what to do with my empty plates, someone appears as if by magic and asks if they can take it all away. I used to like coming here after school. Love their cuban chicken panini and chipotle chicken sandwich. Both are very flavorful. Their soups are overpoweringly salty I can never finish even half of them without having to down a glass of water. They are very generous with the rolls though. A couple times I finished them and they gave me more. The salads are nothing special. My favorite baked goods are the toffee nut cookies and the bear claw. Amazing! Overall, the price is alright and the food is good but nothing to rave about. read more

I've stopped by this location about 3 times now and I've never been impressed. Once, I came to pick up bread and the staff seemed very aloof. I thought maybe they were uncaring because my order was so small and to go. Then, I've come back to have dinner with a friend on Saturday night and once again, the girl who took my order wasn't cold but wasn't friendly either - which is fine, but she didn't ask me for my choice of side and simply punched in 'baguette'. Then, the girl making my food was a little bit incompetent - I asked her if I could have a whole grain baguette with order number xyz and she looked at her computer and asked me my name. Then, she said fine. As she was about to grab my piece I politely asked if I could have an end piece and she gave me two middle pieces. I didn't want to be annoying so I just grabbed my stuff and was about to walk away when another employee stopped me and gave me an end piece. No one was really friendly at all. Today, I ordered a house latte. I asked the girl how many pumps of 'stuff' they put in normally,then asked her to just to take it down a notch and she made the most nasty, bitter cup of coffee I think I've ever had. It was so bad I just couldn't drink it and had to go back and ask another person to make me another one. This time, I didn't mention anything about not making it too sweet and what I got is pure sugar. Apparently, there is no middle ground around here! At Starbucks, I can ask for 2 pumps rather than the 4 that goes into a medium latte...I tried this here today (the girl said they put in 3 pumps normally so I said lets try 2) and it didn't work out. This Panera Bread is always crowded at lunchtime because of the location. If you don't want to wait in a long line get there as close to 11:30 as you can. The line to order moves quickly but then you wait forever to get your food. The food is ok, pretty much like every other Panera. This location is dirty! The bathroom looks like it is at best surface cleaned and hasn't had a thorough scrubbing in about 5 years! Gross. The tables are ALWAYS dirty so if you want a clean table you have to wipe it yourself. Some of the staff look a little grungy. I saw one guy with long, bushy dreadlocked hair and all I could think about was him getting it in the food. They should require staff to wear their hair up! read more

Stopped here today after shopping at the nearby babies r us. Nothing but great things to say from the second I walked in i was taken care of and greeted warmly. After ordering my food was prompt and perfect it solved all my cravings considering I'm 38 weeks pregnant food makes me insanely happy throughout my stay everyone was so accommodating and kind. I will definitely make a 20 minute drive out of my way to stop by again. Great job Panera of West Windsor everything was fantastic !!! read more

My visit here was spectacular. Their food was great! Wait time wasn't bad either. The renovations really made the place stand out, and where it's placed made it even more enjoyable. For example, it's close to Target, Michaels, and right across the street has even more stores to go to. I really enjoyed being there. I felt like their service got ten times better since the last time I was there. There was someone holding the door for me, and they even took my plates! Usually, I would have to take all of the plates to stand, but they kindly did it for me. I loved how helpful and kind they were. I saw smiles on mostly everyone there, which became contagious. Overall, I definitely would keep coming. I recommend that other people should try this place as well. read more

Went there 9/1/18 at 6pm. Restaurant was only 25% filled. Employees were horrible. Cashier was in training and not ready to operate on his own. Wrong items were rung up. Dining area is filthy. Tables are dirty with liquid and sticky. Garbage on floors. Beverage station was disgusting. Spills, trash, some beverages empty. Took over 10 mins. For food to arrive and it wasn't busy. Of course there were errors. Sitting there and we see gnats flying around our heads. People are walking by trying to find a clean table to sit at. The whole time I am watching the staff stand and talk. Finish dinner and go to the trash receptacle and the counter is stacked high with dishes, cups and silverware. What a total disappointment this place has become. I ask to speak to a manager and a 20 year old girl arrives. She has no idea how to handle a disgruntled guest. Very poor management. This place and it's workers are not only inconsiderate but just flat out rude and disrespectful. My friend has Ciliacs disease and she can not eat gluten so she specifically said no croutons when she ordered but then they gave her crotons so we had to go back and make them make her a new salad. The lady who was giving out food didn't understand she had an allergy and said "next time write no croutons" even though she did that pior to receiving her salad. They also messed up my order with 5 things missing from my salad. It's honestly not that hard to make a salad and follow a person instructions or needs due to a health condition or a request. After my friend received her salad she specifically asked for the fork not to be put in the bag with the bread and they again did not listen and the worker proceeded to then tell my friend after she asks for a new fork that she already has one not remembering that she has an allergy. Redesigned and pretty in a Contemporary Farmhouse way. Food is made to expected restaurant specifications. Problem is that the eating area was filthy. My tabletop was sticky, leatherette chairs had food and crumbs caught in the seams. The rug and tile needed vacuuming and scrubbing. Yes, patrons do notice. The ladies room was worse. We ordered take out and when we got home he discovered his turkey sandwich had no turkey *AND* I discovered my chicken salad had no chicken! So basically, I paid 16 bucks for a salad with only lettuce and a sandwich with only lettuce and tomato. When I called, the manager he said, "Wow. Do you know the odds of that happening?! I come here on a regular basis for dinner (like, approximately once a week). Love their steak and blue cheese salad, and the butternut squash soup. Staff and management is always friendly, and service is fast--my food is usually ready by the time I've gotten my soda. Can be busy, but it's also a huge location, so I've never had problems getting a table. Plus, NJ is the most densely populated state, so everything is busy. Close to Wegmans (which is also busy) and Target (ditto). read more

Overall, I like Panera but this is the absolute worst location. I come here pretty much every weekend for breakfast bc it is the only convenient place on my drive down to visit my mom. While contemplating my one star, consider the fact that I love Panera Bread as a chain. That's how bad this location is. I don't know how the franchise deals with quality control, but it needs to seriously reevaluate this one. The staff I've witnessed could care less about their jobs. Coughing directly into the bread they are so famous for seems to be a tradition. Orders always seem to be wrong and the waits are atrocious. I asked for a different kind of cheese on my sandwich. When the employee making my sandwich forgot, I, holding my tray, politely mentioned it. She then, without even making eye contact, placed two cold cheese slices directly into my hand. I'm not even kidding. Adding insult to injury, my sandwich was a warm panini. My cold "hand cheese" was not a welcome addition. The icing on this not-so-fresh cake (or, in Panera lingo, "pastry")? My friend got violent food poisoning from their broccoli soup on my next attempt to give this place another chance.
