I LOVE Panera Bread and I love that they opened one up so close to home off of Zinfandel but the management at this store is very cold to their customers and I have noticed them being rude to their hardworking employees while I've been in their store. One of the managers I've seen on multiple occasions being rude is named shannon or something like that. Management needs to be good to their employees so that they can provide even better customer service to their customers and uplift the vibe of the store as a whole. read more

Finally got around to ordering lunch from here and I will say that their online ordering system works very well and is convenient. On the other hand, their food is really not good. Had soup, turkey chili and a sandwich. The soup and chili just tasted like pre-made re-warmed Campbell's type offerings which I'm sure they were. The sandwich (panini) was just kind of greasy and salty. There are too many better options to bother with this place unless you're in a hurry for some reason. read more

This location has pleasantly surprised me! The employees are always smiling, and happy to greet us. It is always very clean, and the service is always prompt. The one time there was a mistake on my order all I had to do was call, and Crystal a manager there told me that the next time I come in my order would be on them. From now on I think I will take the 25 min drive to the sunrise location instead of the 7min drive to this location. This is not the first time my order has been messed up but I wanted to give them another chance. I went here last night with my two year old we're both sick and thought some soup might make us feel better. I ordered a you pick two with two bowls of broccoli cheddar soup with a baguette. She loves the Mac and cheese so I also ordered a cup of that. She's not a fan of the baguette so I asked for chips. When I got home I noticed that the bottom of my entire bag was soaked with butter. Please start filling your salad dressing containers to the top. I'm so tired of all these half filled cups. Nothing worse than a dry salad with barely any dressing. And also when I ask for avocado on a large salad I would expect a good amount. It's always hit and miss with this place. Panera's food is always top notch! Unfortunately, I've ordered several times at this location (on Zinfandel in Rancho Cordova) and mostly always they mess up the order. It's a very busy location so I can understand an occasional mistake but I have learned not to leave the drive through or the counter without opening my bag to check everything is correct. Worse thing ever is when you drive all the way home to find half your meal is missing! Also, their drive-thru seems to take forever! I once waited 15 mins for soup with no other cars in front of me. Was wondering what they were doing in there!Other than that, Panera does have some delicious soup, chicken and wild rice is my favorite. Friendly staff! Lots of options on the menu including sandwiches, salads, soups and bakery items. If you can't decide what you want go for the "Pick 2" and you can have 1/2 sandwich and soup or 1/2 salad. The potions are good too. The 1/2 salad is huge, always feel like I am getting a good deal there because the portions are so big. The Green Goddess salad with Chicken, bacon, eggs and avocado is really good. You have to try the soups! The Chicken and Wild rice is great and the Potato is great as well. The atmosphere is inviting as well, great place to meet friends and relax while having a meal. However, it can be frustrating when you go for dinner and they have run out of items such as a type of bread or soup. I usually rush into this Panera location between 6 and 7am, in a bit of a caffeine starved daze, on my way in to work a 10 to 12 hour shift across the street. I usually order the exact same thing each time: either a jalapeno cheese bagel and reduced fat cream cheese, or a cheese pastry (aka DANISH, but whatevs.) There's nothing special about my order except it's always fresh, and everything tastes great and ME LOVE CARBS. But the reason for the review is all of the employees who have ever rung me up, handed me my food, or interacted with me here are AWESOME and that is a BIG DEAL in food service. ESPECIALLY at like 6:30 in the morning! I can barely form a coherent sentence at 6am, let alone smile, be funny, provide fast, friendly service, and remember someone's name and order. In particular, Annie stands out as the best customer service I've had in a restaurant in a long time- I hope Panera management realizes how fabulous she is & that being that on point that early is a gift not everybody has! In short: I'm never disappointed in my service here, OR the food. read more

In general I love Panera Bread. The locations I have been to have all been clean, great service and friendly workers. Then there is this location. I meet a friend at this location about once a month for dinner because it's convenient for her. The first couple of times I thought maybe the servers were having a bad night. The last time we went I literally listened to two employees sitting at a table (presumably on a break) complaining about everything including co workers and the manager. This went on for at least 20 minutes. They were sitting in the back of the restaurant but I was clearly sitting within ear shot. Last night we were there again. As I'm waiting for my food I hear the employees behind the counter making food talking about how other places drinks are better than theres and once again complaining about their jobs. It's obvious they don't want to be there. Several times employees walked by our table and never even acknowledged us. Now I know they are not "waitresses" but other locations all at least ask if they can take your tray. The tables are also dirty on a regular basis at this location. It just seems like a lazy staff who are unhappy are bringing down the feel of this whole place. read more

2 adults and a child went for breakfast on Mother's Day and ordered drinks, a fruit cup and two breakfast sandwiches after ordering 3 other items that we were told they were out of. After about 10 minutes and $19 paid we received two half sandwiches with eggs not cooked through and way too runny (and yes we ordered over easy) we debated not asking for our money back but decided it was too close to robbery via mal-service. We asked for a manager who responded prompt and polite. She refunded all of our money and apologized thoroughly and then gave my wife and child a long stemmed flower as a part of the apology. My food took a while to come out but there was a line to the door so I was prepared for the wait. The food was great and also the customer service. If i could give no stars I would. We had a catering order for 40 people... not only were they over an hour late for the delivery, I tried calling the store with no answer for 30 minutes... finally when I couldn't get ahold of anyone I drove to the location to find out where our order was. When I walked in and asked to speak to the general manager she sent another team member to handle my issue... after some conversation about the issue I started to voice concern about why I couldn't get ahold of anyone and why no one had reached out to us to let us know what was going on... then the actual general manager came out... I don't know why the general manager would send another team member to deal with an irate customer but she did... then when she wanted to talk to me she was soooooo rude!!! Like I did something wrong!!!! Totally unacceptable - we will never order from them again. If you were smart you wouldn't either!!! Worst Panera experience EVER!!! First time they didn't have my Rapid Rack order ready for pick up and tried to say that I didn't even order it so I had to show them my online order but by now of course they are out of what I ordered. Second time with Rapid Rack order and again not ready at pick up time with only one on the shelf listed under Asiago Focaccia. Not what I ordered. Manager Debra was not apologetic at all and continued to say that my order was in the back but didn't go get it. What she didn't realize was that other employees had already told me that they didn't have anymore in the back. And rather than suggests something else she could get me, she basically called me a liar and told me to leave that she was done talking to me. She had also told the employee that was originally helping me by calling the Folsom Panera to see if they had any in stock to stop what he was doing and help other customers. What kind of CUSTOMER SERVICE is that?!! She should not be in a Managers position and I would not want someone like her representing my company!! DO NOT GO TO RANCHO PANERA!! If I could have given fewer stars I would have. My co-workers and I decided to give this new place a try since there are very few decent choices for places to eat in Rancho Cordova near Zinfandel and International. This is a horrible place. It took 40 minutes for us to receive our lunch after I complained twice and our order was wrong. We certainly will not be returning. I rarely patronize this particular location mainly due to lackluster customer service. The few times I have gone to this location, especially at the drive-thru, the staff working at the window didn't exhibit any enthusiasm in serving their customers. I found this very disconcerting; however the food was always delicious. Yesterday, I was in the area and I decided to swing by for a quick bite. I was pleasantly surprised when I encountered a very friendly, helpful, and cheery voice over the drive-thru speaker. When I arrived at the window I was greeted in the same manner. I was so impressed that I had to alert the supervisor / shift leader on duty of the excellent customer service I just received. I would like to give a shout out to Alicia at Panera for her demeanor has encouraged me to return to this location. As far as the food is concerned, I had the Southwestern Chicken Flatbread which was very delicious and due to Alicia's recommendation, I tried the Green passion power smoothie. It was refreshing and filling. I hope this location continues to hire / train positive customer service representatives. The Rancho Cordova location is horrible. It takes on average 20 min to receive an order at drive through with nobody in front of us. Each time we go we are hoping for faster service. Once we get home we find our order is all messed up. Tonight I ordered a Cobb salad. I ended up with a salad with olives, parmasean cheese, onions, chicken, tomatoes and 1 Italian dressing and 1 vinaigrette. I'm so sick and tired of this service. It's been 3 years now and it's not gotten better. Anyone you ask in Rancho Cordova will tell you the same thing. Most of the business this location gets is not from people who live around here because we know better. The poor people who come here are use to great food and great service from Panera and expect that at this location. They need to do something about this service because it would be nice to feel enthusiastic about having Panera in our neighborhood. From what we heard, this is a training center. I've been here many times now and here's my two cents. positive thing about this place is there's never a line, so I never have to wait. not sure if that's a positive thing or not actually. are people not coming back? anyhow, they always forget to add my cheese to my soup. always. literally never gotten that right. when I go to ask for it (when I dine in) the crew walks by like they don't see you, so they don't have to ask what you need. I know they saw me. they looked at me from the corner of their eye from down the line. they do it every time. it's pretty disappointing that the manager/shift leaders do it as well. big no no. the crew is very social though. with themselves. when they don't look at me from the corner of their eyes, they're enjoying the conversations they're having with each other. whatever it is they're taking about is good too. they're laughing their butts off. they not concerned with customer service at all. I've never gotten my order the way I've ordered it. there's always something missing or something on my sandwich that I asked not to be there. tomato, onion or something on the side. whatever it may be. I don't even bother to have it corrected by them. no point. even though I hate onion and tomato which does affect the taste of the sandwich even though you take it off. that being said, I love the broccoli and cheddar soup. french onion is pretty good too (when the cheese is in it). ciao. read more

Overpriced and basic. Turkey, avocado, and bacon on some thin sliced white bread. The bacon was cold from the refrigerator and I thought they would've had some nice Shabbat a bread or some type of artesian bread for as much is this half sandwich cost. And I paid almost 7 dollars for a half sandwich. I feel like Mr. pickles does better than this. I've been to Panera two times in three years and this is why. Never disappointed with my Panera experience, Tonight just chill'n with a cup of coffee; but a couple of weeks ago I watched a Panera employee give a young homeless man a free meal. He was just sitting in a corner of the room trying to keep warm and out of the rain. He was a young white male of 26 years old or so. She saw him as she cleaned tables and asked him if he was hungry. She knew the answer, and he said simply said yes. She said that she was going on a break in a few minutes, and that if he waited, she would bring him some soup and a piece of bread. You could see the gratefulness in his eyes. She brought him the soup and bread and topped it off with an fresh whole apple. I said nothing but after he finished his soup he spoke to me and asked if I was OK. We had a short conversation and he said he was just glad to talk to someone. I hadn't thought of a homeless boy being grateful just for having an open conversation with someone in a restaurant. This wonderful, big black girl behind the counter had inspired me with her generosity and kindness. I decided that if she could afford a meal for this young man that I could give him enough to cover at least his next few meals. I would like to thank the employees at Panera and let the owners there know that they hired well. As I left, the young man said he was full and asked if I would take the apple. I said no thank you, you keep it. He insisted that I except his gift. That apple sat on my counter at home for a few days before my kids and I cooked it and severed it over pancakes. Love the food, but I've been twice now and my order was messed up both times. The first time I ordered soup in the sourdough bowl and a Greek salad. I got soup not in the bowl and a Caesar salad, and it took at least 20 minutes. The second time I went through the drive-thru and service was fast, but they did not include salad dressing. Frustrating when you don't realize that until after you get back to the office. On the plus side, they didn't charge for my soda. read more

I love Panera and eat at multiple locations in and around Sacramento. This was by far my worst experience. I placed an order online and when I got there my order was not ready. I patiently waited another 10 minutes and finally approached the cashier to ask about my order. She went to go check and then informed me it was not ready because they were out of dinner rolls and asked me what I would like instead. Once my order was ready I picked it up from the counter and it was missing an additional item. I asked the cashier, she then informed me that they were out of that as well. I received a refund for the unavailable items and an insincere apology. I was not offered a special treat for my incorrect order although that's what is stated on displays and on the receipt or any other type of coupons for a future visit. read more

As many times that I've been to Panera I've had the worst experience ever. The dining area is always dirty. Chairs pushed out, tables not wiped down. I went there an hour after they opened and went to get lemons for my water. There were only 3 in the lemon tub and they were soggy!! Umm they just opened an hour ago what happened to freshness and stocking up prior to opening?? My following visit I order a large soup and a grilled cheese sandwich 13 later is what it cost!! I asked how much for the grilled cheese sandwich and I was told $6.89. I screamed $6.89 for that very small grilled cheese??!! Panera is way over priced!! I could have gotten 2 fresh chicken teriyaki plates at I Teriyaki for the price I paid at a Panera.. Needless to say I will not be eating there anymore!! read more

They seemed very very very busy getting some catering orders ready. If you're just going to do catering, do that, but don't pretend you are also a great place to stop for coffee and a bagel.
