I ordered mine with pepper jack on Dutch crunch bread, no onion no tomato, paid for bomb sauce on side- does not come on sandwich. I hesitate to give restaurants a bad review, especially in today's economy, but I have to be honest and share my experience. Unfortunately, the sandwich did not meet my expectations. They handle the money and transaction and on the day I went she was handling the breads with her bare hands. Placing them in the oven to be heated and then continuing back to the register dealing with money and all. When the breads were done she would only then use tongs to take them out. Why not do the same when putting them in. I know sometimes ur busy but it's gross to see you handle money and all and then touch the breads. Will I go back, I'm not sure. This establishment has two less patrons. My friend and I came here for lunch today and saw the special of the day listed for $10 plus tax. It was for a tri tip sandwich, a drink, and potato salad. I've eaten here many times before as it is very close to my work. The special was a little bit pricier than I'm willing to spend on a sandwich (I don't typically order a drink etc) but I decided to give it a go. The sandwich makers were pleasant and made my sandwich quick. I got to the cashier who quoted me and my friend $11.91 each. We politely explained that the a-frame sign posted said ten dollars plus tax and the receipt showed 8.50 for the tri tip, 2.50 for the potato salad, and a free drink, which is $11 before taxes. The cashier kept stating it was "ten plus tax" and it took us multiple times to explain to her that the subtotal before tax was ringing up at 11 and not 10. Eventually, she said "ok" but did not make a move to remedy the situation. When I prodded her a little bit further, she said there's nothing she could do about it. She asked if I wanted potato or macaroni salad, and I asked for potato because it's my fav. My friend and I were dissatisfied with the false price advertising and the rudeness of the cashier. I reluctantly paid because they had already made the sandwich and I was in a rush. I know it's just a dollar, but it's the principle of it. To make things worse, the tri tip was fatty and bland which was disappointing because I usually love their sandwiches. When it came time to eat the potato salad (the only thing I was looking forward to at this point), it was a mixture of potato and macaroni. Nothing against macaroni salad lovers, but it's just not my jam. I went up to the counter to ask for potato salad and they said this was all they had. I sadly went and sat back down. When ordering, you have the option to fill out a little card with what you want and hand it to any available employee to make your sandwich. How convenient! I ended up ordering an MGM Grand since it sounded like it had a ton of meat (pastrami, roast beef, salami). Ordered on sourdough with pepper jack cheese and all the veggies. Sandwich had generous portions of meat and boy did it pack flavor. Matched with the banana peppers and red onion, it hit the palette just right. This little gem of a sandwich shop is located in the Rockingham Plaza. I frequent this place when I go out for lunch since it is less than 5 min away from where I work. I'm surprised that some of the past reviewers have experienced bad customer service here because I've had nothing but a good experience. All the workers are courteous and orders are always accurate. The owner, Robert, is always friendly and recognizes his frequent customers. I love coming here on Tues or Thurs when they have tri-tip!
