I came here for a mobile order as it was on my way to work. The location is in a somewhat sketchy strip mall in Ranch Cordova. Outside and inside the store was clean and up to the franchise standard. My order was ready on a couple minutes. I had to return as I had left my cell phone behind. The server had noticed it and put it away until I came back. I also got one of their desserts, the Tastykake and I refused to share with my man because it was so good with some oat milk, haha! My Husband loves Jersey Mikes and it's close to our house so we have gone to this location many times throughout the years. The food and customer service USE TO BE great. My Husband and I went there the other night and I wished we hadn't.. The 2 young men working there had the enthusiasm of a sloth. Absolutely no greeting and if by chance they did actually greet us, I didn't hear a thing because their heads were down the whole time. The young man who made our sandwiches, didn't make eye contact and when speaking to us had the most uninterested, monotone, annoyed voice. The only time he actually made eye contact was when I asked if I could have cheese on my BLT and he looked up with an irritated look to tell me it was a charge. By that point I was over his rude customer service and responded with an attitude which was wrong in my part cause I should never let anyone affect my mood in that way but it happened lol Anyway, I will gladly drive to a location further out than to deal with rude, annoyed workers! This is not a review that I wanted to leave. I went into this place last night. I've been coming here for years. I love the sandwiches that they make. Normally get a number 13 and add ham to it. Last night we came in ordered our sandwiches had a young kid (Allen) working behind the counter making our sandwiches. Before he started making our sandwiches I noticed that his co worker who has made our sandwiches many times before had to tell him to change his gloves as he just checked out someone and had touched items. No issues there because it was before he touched our food. He started slicing the meat when the phone rang the both were busy making sandwiches when Allen stopped making our sandwiches to answer the phone normally not a problem but he wedge the phone between his shoulder and head to talk as he went back to making our sandwiches as he was on the phone. Now I'm watching him do this he touches his hair and shirt and the phone then proceeds to start cutting more meat without changing his gloves. His coworker Adam is think his name was quietly tells him to stop and wash his hands and change his gloves as he just touched his hair shirt and the phone. Allen ignored him as we watch him pull new meats out and starts cutting them when Adam told him again to change his gloves. One would think you would understand that he was trying to save the store a potential nightmare report to the health department for various health code violations by Allen. But all Allen did was escalate the situation by arguing with Adam about why he had to change his gloves. Did this kid not get the basic food safety training that goes with any fast food job? When I spoke up about his not changing his gloves and pointed out the HACCP violations he was committing and how he had cross contaminated the other meats he touched and put back. I was told to mind my own business I was like your making our sandwiches it is my business. At that point we walked out of the place. Went to and sandwich shop. I don't think I can go here again if he is working would be to concerned about food poisoning or something from his mishandling of the food. I hope they fix this concern as this is was our go to sandwich shop. It would have been a 1 star review but Adam saved a star for them I wish I could give him a 5star rating separately from Allen's 0 star rating I wish I could give. I've seen all the reviews, I've heard all the good words, so I walked in for the first time asking to myself, "are they really worth the hype?" I walked out with a resounding yes, yes they are... The restaurant was bright and clean, and everybody was very friendly. I decided to have the original Italian, Provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami, and I had them leave off the pepperoncini because I don't care for it. I had it with lettuce, tomato, onions, oregano and salt, and their "juice" which is red wine vinegar and oil. Wow! I had the parmesan roll, which was was soft, fresh, and you could definitely taste the cheese. the veggies were also fresh, and you could tell that the meat is extremely high-quality, with generous portions. Just an absolutely amazing sandwich all the way around. This was not a " subway special." For a chain, they are absolutely right up there with my favorite mom and pop deli. Because it was my first time, they also gave me a free davids chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was tender, moist, with lots of delicious chocolate chips. very good. For a medium sandwich and a soda, I paid just north of $12.50. Yeah, a little bit more expensive, but here you definitely are getting what you pay for. I will be back to try more things. It was just " ok" but flavorless. The other, a BIG KAHUNA, I took home to serve my client for dinner. I asked TWICE , " no jalapeños or peppers PLEASE!! , " ok they said. But it's like mayhem there at the counter. People picking up, people turning their back to get this get that,,, I understand you have to turn a profit. But again, no one listened. No one. At the moment, it's looking messy and confused, but give it a few and they'll be like clockwork...like the other Jersey Mike's Subs chains around. We ordered our sandwiches online. And after around half an hour, we went in to get our order and it wasn't still ready. In fact, it wasn't even started. The staff were busy with the current order line. But it didn't take long for them to process my order once I told them the order details. The price is affordable...same price structure across all the Jersey Mike's I have been to. I've visited this location a few times and I have nothing but good things to say. From the very beginning, the employees introduced me to themselves and seemed super happy to serve. Happy employees = happy atmosphere and happy customer! I'm a vegetarian. In a sandwich shop, a vegetarian diet isn't usually accommodated because of all the cross contamination. While some cross contamination is unavoidable, the employees are very gracious and clean the work area and cheese slicer once I ask them for the courtesy. That alone earns this 5-star review! So, let's be honest, I am cheap, but I love good food, so this is always an issue-lol! So my daughter grabs a cookie and she says no worries.. you get a free one, it's a cookie for a rookie!! i was like ok I like that! So now to the location, it's off the beaten path which is nice because you're not fighting for parking like by chipotle! It's cute inside and not too big nor too small. Now for the food- i am used to subway (im cheap remember lol) and my GOD, this sandwich was just so much better I can not even explain it. The bread was better, the condiments seemed fresher and the meat was hands down a different quality. Think like prepackaged meat vs fresh cut! Everything about it was just delicious, even my picky toddler loved it and ate her 1/3 of the sandwich plus of course her cookie.
