The staff are constantly changing here even prior to COVID-19. Today, the staff was rude. Other staff standing around doing nothing. Yet, online orders are backed up with a cook, two employees, and manager. I ordered online. No one ever brings out to your car for curbside unless you're caucasian. If you're another ethnic group and order online, you have to come in and get yourself. Marking that you're here in the app upon arrival does nothing. Some people do work and don't have time to sit and wait for someone to decide if and when they want to bring the items out to you. Being rude and prejudice to customers doesn't make me want to come back. Hopefully, others will follow suit and NOT support this location. The food was good the cleanliness of the restaurant was poor. Dirty floors, booths, and bathrooms. The bathroom floor was covered in filth with dirty grout lines and tiles, the carpets were dirty, the booths were surrounded by dirty walls needing a paint job. The ceiling tiles were stained as if they experienced water damage. No one wants to eat in a dirty environment. I wish I had taken pictures of the place to post. It was nice and clean and bright inside, as well as cozy! I was pleasantly surprised when the cashier informed me that I get a free bagel every day through out the month of October! I picked the pumpkin spice, of course, to usher in the celebration of fall! I ordered a yogurt with fresh berries and a egg white, turkey, spinach breakfast bagel! Absolutely delicious !!! So if you want a little more than just the standard Starbucks, I highly recommend Panera!!! It's a healthy and heartier alternative!!! The food is on par with other Panera Bread locations. You get what you pay for (especially compared to fast food restaurants), and my meal had great quality and flavor for the price tag! I ordered a bowl of french onion soup, a Caesar salad, a cinnamon caramel crunch scone, and some plum ginger hibiscus tea. Checkout using the self-service kiosk was straightforward, and most of the food items had customization items I may have otherwise missed. The entire bill came out to around 13 bucks - not bad at all for the volume of food! The french onion soup was savory, with just enough cheese and croutons to balance the dish out. The complementary baguette, while tasty on its own, was the perfect utensil for finishing out that last sip of brothy goodness! The Caesar salad was crisp, presented neatly, and the ingredients seemed to be proportioned out well. Just enough dressing to give that signature Caesar flavor, but not enough to drown out the nuances of the parmesan and romaine! My drink and dessert complemented each other well; the more delicate flavors of the tea played well with the more direct sweetness of the scone. I loved the texture of the scone (the pieces of apple and caramel baked into the dough were a nice touch) and was pleased that it wasn't too dry. The entire meal experience was satisfying. I was surprised to see staff members bringing food directly to our table. A nice touch, and I haven't seen that in a Panera before. Staff members were friendly and accommodating. I agree with what some others have said; tables and seats were a little dirty, and I had to clean a table myself before sitting down (crumbs and residue from a drink), but it wasn't so bad that I was wigged out by it. This is probably the only reason I'm not giving a 5-star review. Overall, a great experience and a wonderful lunch. A perfect (and mostly healthier) alternative to fast food! I bought a Ice Tea, however when I got to fill my glass, I noticed they had Acai Berry Ice Tea unsweetened. So, I decided to go for it. I am a real tea fan, so this was a chance to try something different. I will say, in all honesty... I did not like the taste. This is my first time in tasting what the Acai Berry is like, and I will tell you... I will not drink this again. I thought I was drinking medicine and it was NOT good. It may be an acquired taste, however I do not want to take the time to acquire the taste... so I will go back to the Old Fashion Lipton Tea...! I tried the Thai Chicken Wonton Bowl at this Panera today. Considering it cost me $8.79 and 1300 mg of sodium, I was unimpressed. It was bland! How does that even happen with that much sodium? That's what I get for ordering "Thai" food from a Panera. :) I'm still rating them well because everything I've had has been either good or okay. And the things I like, I get often and am never disappointed with the quality. The service has always been fast and friendly. Though I do sometimes leave $8-10 poorer with a "still hungry" husband. Good: Mediterranean egg white sandwich, avocado/egg white/spinach sandwich, Greek salad, bagels, broccoli cheddar soup, Mediterranean veggie sandwich, Fontega chicken panini, the flatbreads (if the equivalent of fancy toast is enough for you for lunch) Edit: Thank goodness I checked out the inside of my breakfast sandwich before I bit into it, or I would have gotten a mouthful of runny egg yolk. They have the nerve to ask you to tip them when you order (you clear your own table) and over the last six weeks (I go every Thursday) every table is either dirty (crumbs and sticky stuff on the table top) or they have actually wiped the table top and brushed the crumbs etc into the seats. What is wrong with people? Are they so lazy that they don't think about pushing food into the seats where their customer sit? They throw the bagel in a bag with a tub of cream cheese, and put your toppings like lettuce and tomato in separate containers. If I could give this location a zero I would. Everything we had was wrong or bad. All three of our breakfast sandwiches were on the wrong bread and one had an over easy egg when scrambled was ordered and was printed on the receipt. The hot chocolate tasted like warm milk with a hint of chocolate flavor. The cappuccino was likewise heavy on the milk and light on espresso. We managed to get one sandwich remade but were out of luck on the others because they were out of brioche bread..:a little detail not shared when we placed the order. Lastly the receipt boasts a accuracy policy that claims all orders should be correct and if not, they will be corrected and a treat provided for the trouble. One part of our order was corrected with a rather gruff attitude and nothing offered. This is clearly a badly managed location. The manager, very rudely, told him that they were not participating in the program. The man behind my husband was a Vietnam veteran and asked the manager why they weren't participating. The manager responded that they weren't required to participate so they opted out. Shame on you Short Pump Panera! I also splurged with a cinnamon crunch bagel, which probably undid the healthy aspect of the salad. Lots of choices in pastry type treats, all of which look pretty good. This is the second time I have gone to this one because I was hoping the first time was a fluke. It was not. They are SLOW. I waited more than ten minutes for something I know they microwave and there was no one in front of me the entire time. I love the food at any Panera and this one is no exception. I do have a few problems with this location though. Their portions are not even, sometimes I'll get a huge baget and sometimes my baget will be tiny. I've also had problems with the bread bowls being different sizes as well. 3/5 times I go after 8pm they are out of bread bowls which I think is unacceptable. This location is open until 10pm so it should serve bread bowls until then. I even mentioned this to an employee once and she got very impatient with me and stormed to the back saying "I need a break!"
