I ordered the Rachel for an entree, and my partner ordered the Sharona. I subbed the chips for a side salad. The salad was tangy or tart, almost bitter. I didn't mind; I thought it was quite good. It is a lot of acidity if you are not expecting it. The Rachel was fantastic, except that the coleslaw had some onion bits mixed in. We are not onion fans in this household. Ha The Sharona would have been a better choice, as I much prefer pickles to oniony coleslaw. My partner said she really liked hers. We had half a sandwich each for leftovers the next day, and shared the leftover chips, since I finished off my salad the night before. The sandwiches heated up exquisitely in the oven at 325°F for 15 minutes. I felt that Susie's is a definite hidden gem, and I can recommend it to anyone who likes a well-made sandwich. It's pretty obvious from my picture that this wasn't some hefty, super stuffed and loaded with meats/cheese hoagie. It looks like a normal 6" hoagie. Not worth $11 for it, in my opinion. I'd rather spend $16 at Stanley's or $10 for a full-size at Mr. Submarine.

They make a beautiful sourdough country loaf that is fantastic to bring home, slice in 1/2" slices with a sharp bread knife, put in a gallon freezer bag, and freeze for amazing sandwiches and treats during the week. Try a Spanish pan con tomate with one of these slices slightly toasted, with a rub of garlic, salt, and good e.v. olive oil, and you'll be happy as a clam. (What does that even mean?) Or use said previously frozen slices as a dessert treat with your sleepy time tea, toasted with butter and good local raw honey drizzled on it. Bathrooms are very clean. Next up, I will go early to sit down and eat there, trying one of the incredible looking breakfast sandwiches and/or salads that folks seem elated to be eating.
