I really like this Panera location. It's smaller and tends to be on the quieter side. It has a few tables tucked into a nook so you can escape from the hustle and bustle if its busy. I have had a couple issues with to go orders though like getting a toasted bagel with butter only to find a cold bagel or no butter. Recommend checking your order before you leave. read more

I have been to Panera Bread a bunch of times but I guess I've never done a review of them - at least not this location. I was having lunch with a friend and we were in the area so we chose Panera because it's always good. Same thing today. My friend had the U Pick 2 with soup and Turkey sandwich. I had the Turkey chili with a baguette on the side (it comes with it). The food is always very fresh tasting here - never had a bad meal from breakfast and coffee , lunch with soup or a dinner with salad. Solid choice! read more

I especially like this one because the kiosks for quick orders are located right when you walk in but nobody ever notices them so you can cut the line and get your order before anyone else. I also like how the setup is with 3 different areas to sit. I'm not sure I've ever had any problem in a Panera bread. They are pretty consistent regardless of which location you go to. This time, I just popped in for a bagel and a cuppa coffee. Of course I also got some sort of egg soufflé because it looked delicious in the window. It was indeed very tasty. In terms of the food, this place is hit or miss. The first time I had the mac and cheese at the Greece location I loved it. Came here (Gates) and they sold me some cold bacon mac and cheese. I noticed they had locked the doors before 8:15 on a Saturday and discouraged us from sitting down to eat. While eating the macaroni in the car before catching our 9:00 movie, I discovered only the top layer of macaroni was coated in the cheese sauce so I guess they just poured it on top and didn't mix it. The sauce seemed like it came right out of the refrigerator, ice cold. If I must eat non-dessert items here I get the mozzarella grilled cheese sandwich with arugula, sun dried tomatoes and pesto with a balsamic drizzle. Who can mess up grilled cheese? I only come here to pick up my pastry rewards. This location has sold me very underdone chocolate chip cookies in the past so I avoid them here, I never bother with any of Panera's other pastries because they are too doughy and lack depth. I enjoy Panera's cookies but this time I had the almond croissant since I saw it's a new item. It was extremely delicious. Crunchy on the outside since there are toasted almonds on top and the marzipan on the inside makes them super soft and chewy on the inside. Five stars for the marzipan. read more

Tried out the Panera $29 family meal deal here! I ordered through the Panera app and chose the Greek salad, quart of broccoli cheddar soup, 2 half chipotle chicken avocado melts and 2 half bacon turkey bravos! It also came with a whole French baguette as well! We picked it up curbside and only waited about 10 minutes which was wonderful! They give u all the silver wear you need as well as little paper bowls and a ladle as well for the soup! It was was wonderful for the 3 of us to have for dinner and still have some leftovers for lunch the next day! You can also upgrade to add cookies as well which we might do next time. We love Panera. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because it's pretty darn expensive. But that being said, the food is good! My favorite is the broccoli cheddar bread bowl. My only complaint is there is too much bread bowl and not enough soup. I never finish the bread. Salads are good here, sandwiches, etc. Nice pick 2 selections for lunch or dinner. I love to go for their Mango Ceylon Tea & Broccoli Soup. The place gets really busy around lunch time. It's nice in winter to seat near the fireplace, but very hard to get that spot. I've tried their Chicken salad sandwich and it was good with cranberries. Also the Mango frosty on warmer times. Their pastries are a try & taste. Most I don't care for. Once you do get into the eatery, service goes pretty smoothly. 99% of the time your order is correct. Good place to go for fast, healthy-ish salads, meal bowls. There's a reason why this particular Panera is higher rated than most in the surrounding area. I think this one gets it right all around. It is not overly crowded like other frequented Panera's in the greater Rochester community such as Brighton (Monroe Ave.). This means that there are shorter wait times, more attention paid to detailed orders and better customer service. I have been frequenting this location for years and we enjoy their food. read more

The last time I visited a Panera Bread was probably at least ten years ago and I was not impressed. This visit, however, was quite the opposite. The décor was modern and intimate for a chain establishment, including a nice fireplace and some nooks and coves for privacy should you desire it. I like the fact that they offer most menu items in a choice of sizes. It enabled me to have a cup of soup and half sandwich without having to take much of it home to rot in the refrigerator. I had the corn chowder and a half portion of the Chipotle Chicken Avocado sandwich. Once again it will be difficult to order anything else on subsequent visits, because it was just that good. The Café Mocha was on a par with the better known coffee shops, which was a nice surprise. I'm glad that there is a Panera nearby. We certainly will be back frequently. read more

Panera is a casual baked goods restaurant who features breads, bagels, paninis, soups, salads, and other tasty treats. You can place your order personally in-store, or use one of their online ordering options: order from your table or order for rapid pickup. If you use the online ordering for rapid pickup, which I often do, your credit card will be charged and then you can pick up your food in a handy paper bag on the rapid order pickup shelf. It's quick and easy, and you don't have to wait in line or spend 10 minutes trying to explain a complicated order. Certainly my preferred way of doing things! I often get a couple bagels here. Their bagels are of the thinner, breadier variety than the NY-style boiled bagel, but it's still good (though not as good as that kind). The bagels only cost $1.05, and that includes up to 5 butter/margarine packets if you so choose - might be the best price in town for a buttered bagel. My favorite Panera item is the BBQ chicken flatbread, which features a tasty barbecue sauce. The chicken noodle soup is nice and comes with plenty of noodles in a pipping hot, flavorful broth. I wish they offered Italian dressing for the salads, but you'll have to settle for a Balsamic Vinaigrette if you're looking for something Italiany. The panini I tried was decent, but it only had grill marks on one side. Finally, the desserts are varied and delightful. The fudge brownie is my favorite. Panera does a very nice job customizing your order, which is easily accomplished if you use their online ordering system. I haven't had a bad experience there yet. I am a huge fan of Panera but I try avoiding this one. The staff isn't always the nicest, minus the manager. The manager treats it like a real restaurant. He clears tables and askes his guests how they are doing. He is a sweet man. I also avoid this one because of the surrounding town. It attracts a lot of delinquency. So I went in. No, "sorry for the inconvenience", nothing. They seemed like they just wanted to get me out of there. I ordered half sandwich (turkey avocado BLT) with a bowl of brocolli cheddar soup and a piece of baguette. My favorite part about this location was the kiosks in the front where you can order your food on a tablet. Sometimes I get overwhelmed in fast food restaurants when I'm expected to quickly make up my mind, so this made it easier for me to decide what I wanted and check out all of my options. There were 3 kiosks available to order on. After you have placed your order, you take a buzzer to find out when your food is ready. You can get your food from the window by the kitchen once your buzzer rings. If you don't want to stay and eat at Panera, you can also take your order to go. Take-out orders frequently missing things or not omitting things that were requested to be omitted; I've had the former happen at least 3 times there, and the latter happen at least once. There have been several occasions when we have gone in, usually about and hour or two before the "dinner crowd" and had them tell us they were out of a number of things.
