chicken strawberry fruit green salad. Don't get!
    Silvia S.

We ordered delivery for Mothers Day. We thought it would be better than trying to go to a restaurant. We ordered two Corn tortilla soup that were very tasty. We also ordered two chicken, strawberry salad. What a disappointment as you can see from the pictures there is no chicken, only 3 tiny pieces of strawberries, one blueberry, and one piece of pineapple it did have plenty of lettuce. We asked for two dressings which were included one upside down. We also ordered two chocolate coconut macaroons (yummy). It's been at least 9 months since we tried Panera again last time we were given small side salad for large/regular at the same size. Well we tried again. Never again it's just not worth it.

Had a great experience here. I ran into an issue with my order, but the team (Aaron, Ivy, and Frankie) went above and beyond to help me out right before closing. They didn't rush me and made sure everything was taken care of--even making sure I got my order after they had already closed. Really appreciate the effort and customer service. Highly recommend!

Chipotle Chicken, & Avocado on Ciabatta Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice Soup - and a fruit cup but they forgot my French baguette
    Sophia D.

Bought the ciabatta chipotle chicken sandwich along with the fresh fruit chicken wild rice soup and a baguette and their quinoa chicken salad. The sandwich was ok really salty, i didn't receive my baguette was disappointed about that was looking forward to dipping it into my soup the soup was pretty tasty along with the fruit but that salad was super delicious. I door dashed my food so didn't go inside but i haven't eaten at panera bread for awhile and now i remember why i recommend that salad for sure but if you have a good sandwich suggestion i wouldn't mind trying it again.

I'm not a huge fan of Panera Bread, but my daughter has been asking for weeks to stop in for dinner. We finally went last night and I'm glad we did! This location is on Capitol Ave so parking is iffy since it is mostly metered. The inside is pretty big - it was clean with lots of tables. They are strictly a to-go location (meaning your food is boxed up) because they cater to the downtown lunch crowd, but you are welcome to stay and eat there. We ordered the Kids Grilled Cheese Sandwich, the Kids Turkey and Cheese Sandwich, the Toasted Italiano and the Cream of Chicken and Wild Rice Soup. Everything was really good - I really liked the Kids Turkey and Cheese Sandwich - it had no condiments on it, but somehow was not dry. The soup was also light and flavorful - the sandwich and soup portions were huge, I ended up taking half of both for lunch today. I can't really comment on the service since you order at a kiosk and then they call your name to grab your order - the food did take longer than expected to come out though. Overall, Panera Bread is save choice for a more healthier option. I'm sure we'll be back soon!

    Catering box lunch

Every so often, I'd get to attend a lunch seminar or meeting where there's catering and sometimes it'd be Panera Bread doing the lunch and it's usually pretty delicious. So it's just a boxed lunch, but it's not bad, as it comes with a sandwich that's quite big, a large cookie chocolate chip in this case, and a small bag of chips. I personally do not care for their store branded chips because it's made with vegetable oil (seed oils are bad for you), but the cookie is quite delicious. On this occasion, I picked the avocado chicken BLT sandwich and it was yummy! While the bread is just their sour dough and it wasn't that great, it was soft, but the crust wasn't crunchy, it was quite chewy. The fillings were generous though, with quite a bit of fresh chicken not like deli meat processed chicken, and then the bacon in there is good and thick although it was no longer crunchy if it ever was, and there's some avocado in there too to give it a creamy taste. Finally it does come with a pickle which I don't care for so I give it to my husband, hehe. I've not been to this location, but I understand this is where the catering is from because it's closest to our meeting place. Most Panera locations have been good and have a nice ambiance with warm lighting. Overall, I like Panera Bread, although I prefer other sandwich places better.

This is a big box for the contents within. It could fit a couple of sandwiches and more sides.
    Jon W.

I recently attended an event where lunch was provided and Panera was the caterer. I picked the avocado chicken BLT sandwich over the turkey amongst the 2 meat choices as it sounded better and it did taste good. However, I think I prefer the bigger and heartier Mendocino Farms sandwiches more and they usually include a side salad and chips or a cookie. Service was good from the catering staff who dropped off the boxes of lunches, they are usually polite and organize the boxes nice and neatly. Finally, because I didn't eat at this location, I can't speak on the ambiance, but at other locations, Panera Bread restaurants usually have a chill and relaxed ambiance.

Their ravioli is pretty famous and reminds me of an upgraded version of the nostalgic soft, square beef raviolis that I grew up eating. If you don't want to commit to the entire box of take-home ravioli, you can buy it by smaller tubs from the deli. After 20-30 mins, your sandwich should be ready for pickup. The workers there are so friendly and provide great service. They genuinely seem to like their jobs. We got one guy helping us out from one end of the deli to the other end and he was so patient and happy the entire time. There was a sweet lady handing out cheese samples as well. Everything I tried was so delicious. I especially loved how thin they slice the charcuterie meats where they are translucent when held up to the light. Can't wait to go back for their fresh pastas and homemade sauces.

Needless to say, I was completely disgusted. Finding hair in food is one of those things that's hard to get past, especially when you're almost finished eating and realize you've already consumed most of it. Were these chips hand-carved by artisans somewhere? Blessed by monks in the moonlight? I'm genuinely curious. The bun, however, was enormous, so the overall experience was like eating a fluffy bread pillow with a whisper of sandwich somewhere in the middle. Honestly, the sandwich felt a bit like a mime, the idea of a sandwich was there, but the substance was invisible. I even wondered if maybe the fillings weren't hungry themselves. By the end I felt less like I had eaten lunch and more like I had participated in a sandwich-themed illusion. Sadly, it looks like I'm Togo's-bound from here on out. The workers have always been helpful and answered any questions about the menu or even helped with recommendations. The ambiance isn't anything special. It's like most sandwich spots with tables, chairs and a restroom for customers. You're probably not pulling out your laptop to do any work or catch a vibe there unless listening to music and sending emails in a sandwich restaurant is your thing. My go-to order is the Amuna's Tuna on Dutch crunch with everything on it except jalapeños. If you're feeling a little lucky, you can get a combo meal with chips and a drink. They also sell big cookies. You also get a nice caramel apple sucker candy with your order. For starters, Ike's has its own way of doing things: plain mayo is not their thing. Only way to get plain mayo on a sandwich is to get lucky that there's a smidgen still left in a jar in the fridge after they prepare their house spread. They mix GARLIC and gawd knows what else for spices to make their Ike's sauce, so allergies beware. They offer plain mustard, but not plain mayo? For seconds, the sandwich bread is not up to the challenge of holding together the mountain of fillings inside. Pics prove my point. I want to eat a sandwich with my hands, not a plastic fork (or a shovel). And I don't want to wear it, not in public. Proportions, people! One size does not fit all. Now, in fairness, the meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato were fresh, chilled, and flavorful. However, IMHO $2.00+ to add equivalent of half an avocado is robbery when a whole avocado is $1 in the market. Fortunately I arrived when there wasn't another person in the store so I was able order up a plain ham and cheese sub with L, T, and A. The counter person was patient as I attempted to navigate the menu board. I communicated my wish for a simple sandwich and it arrived, albeit ridiculously overstuffed and above my budget expectations. Props for kindness and understanding. My first visit to any shop is always testing how well they do basics. So far, I'm not an Ike's fan. I'm no newcomer to sub sandwiches. At 82, and being a Massachusetts native, I've been a sub girl for at least 75 years, ever since I could wrap my fingers around the perfect sub roll.
