I come for the sheer convenience. The food is good the service is okay and the location really works for me. I am able to grab a healthy snack from here while on the go, but I wish some things would stay on the menu. The bagels here are good and the best deals for a bagel are in a Tuesday if you get a bakers dozen. The smoothies here are okay, but don't compare to your true smoothie shops. Additionally if you have a big appetite you might want to order a snack on the side. read more

Panera has some great bread, baked goods, and soups. The bagels, sourdough bread, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, clam chowder, and French onion soup are all good! I've been eating them for years. I really like their turkey chili. It makes a delicious hearty meal served in one of their bread bowls. I think I'm one of the few people who eats the entire bread bowl. That soft fresh sourdough soaks up the flavors from the soup and tastes delicious. I love it! The only thing Panera doesn't seem to do well are the salads. They're small, over priced, and kind of dull. I would stay away from them. The location is good and there's decent parking. The store is clean and comfortable. There's plenty of comfortable seats. There's even a fire place area. Panera also has good coffee and free refills too! read more

Haven't visited Panera since the pandemic began and my hubby wanted some soup. The cafe was empty, 1-2 customers besides the two of us. Our cashier was very helpful, we were indecisive in terms of sandwiches or pastry (well heck we ended up ordering both!). Chicken soup, almost croissant, chicken sandwich on asiago cheese bagel, and and everything bagel with cream cheese. Our food was hot, perfect for a cold morning. I want to be a fan of the juice blends and despite the nutrition info being disclosed (sugar grams), they all taste bland unfortunately. My bagel sandwich was delicious and I enjoyed it over two meals, with Panera's kettle chips (that I am obsessed with!). I enjoy the croissant the next morning with a cup of hot tea. I have been coming here for over 2 years now, every Tuesday for take out lunch to meet w/my husband at his job. And William is the kindest, most friendly staff member I have ever encountered. He knows the customers by name, he interacts w/us. He's always Johnny on the spot to help w/any need in this establishment. I really believe that I keep coming back more so because of him then anything else. The prices are getting higher & higher, food is insane, and the people making our order don't always get it right. However because of William, he does whatever he can to fix any issue. I feel like Panera is BLESSED to have William as their front line customer service agent. I know I am.. Never thought I would be writing a bad review of a Panera but here it is. Had an order delivered today that should have been pretty simple: 2 bowls of tomato soup and 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. The soup was so acidy tasting that we couldn't eat it. We have had this soup many times before and it never has tasted like vinegar but today it did. The "grilled" cheese was even worse. It was unmelted cheese between 2 pieces of bread with no indication whatsoever that they were "grilled." No butter, no grill marks, no melted cheese. Total cost including delivery for this inedible mess and $46.00 and went to the trashcan. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the order was right. read more

This place is notorious for not having the ingredients for the meals they have on the menu. I have been here 3 times and always out of this or that ingredient, so you can't get what you want. Management here either doesn't know how to order the proper amounts of supplies or corporate is trying to dump this location. read more

This place is always a great option and feels like home. I walked in and placed my order. They actually have a pick two option where you can get two menu items like a soup and a salad and pear them together. When I order food here, it's always fresh and they change the items out for the season which is pretty awesome. I love the fact that they have so many other options for drinks except for soda and panera bread does great things for the community. The employees are always so friendly and there is always a place to plug in your laptop if you need to get some work done. The last time I was there I actually ordered a summer caprese salad, and broccoli cheddar in a bread bowl. It also came with an apple side. They actually used a very fresh tasting balsamic on the salad which was a nice touch and gave it a different flavor from every other salad that i've tried in the neighborhood. I will always be back for more! Its so close to my house and always a good experience at this place. It's a little more pricy then the average fast food place but still so good. read more

I placed an order through Rapid pick up, it was ready when I got there and I grabbed it to take it back to work for lunch. When I got to work, I was upset to find out the soup was only filled 3/4 full. Their prices are on the high end at $6 for one soup, but I've always been satisfied until today. I think it's unacceptable to get a partial product, especially when the prices are not 'economic.' I am not sure if I'll be returning, and I'd recommend to anyone else using Rapid pickup to double check your order before leaving. read more

The place is just so corporate and streamlined and using your ATMs at the counter and it just doesn't seem like a personal service at all. And the food is all right it's nothing special to write home about it's not enough to fill you up for a lunch it's good for maybe a young lady who's off shopping then needs a bite of a small convenient meal in a posh place then that's what Panera is good for working guys need not apply read more

I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza, but instead got just a pepperoni pizza. I got half way through my food and found a black strand of hair cooked into my food. I felt so sick. I tried to call this location several times and was not able to get through. I would recommend anyone to eat at this location. read more

This location used to be my favorite to stop by at after work. However, I came today to get my go to sandwich but was unable to even place my order due to my disgust when I saw a RAT ON THE SODA MACHINE. I approached the counter and informed the manager over what I just saw, all she did was apologize but did nothing about it. I am DISAPPOINTED. This location NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN. The lines were long when we got in but using the kiosk fast order was such a timesaver. The food is consistent with all other Panera visits. Kids ordered the mac & cheese and devoured it. I got the creamy tomato soup which is always tasty. And half sandwich which was just the right amount for lunch. The place was clean. read more

DISGUSTING!! This was my go-to Panera, and it makes me sad to say goodbye forever, BUT this place is DIRTY!! I also got sick later in the day, but I'm not certain if it was the food or seeing what I saw that did me in!! (Please see photos.) I called corporate and found out that many Panera restaurants are franchises!! I had no clue, but now it makes sense with the inconsistencies between stores!! The Auburn store is a franchise as well, but it is top notch!! Anyways, corporate took my complaint and that was my last communication with them. Pretty disappointed in our lunch today. Came in got a pick two salad and half sandwich. How can any business justify giving you this much meat on a $7 half sandwich? Not only does this location charge more then the other Panera's, when We complained the response was it looks like it's 2oz, they did remake for us with an appropriate serving for a sandwich but it's just pathetic customer service. read more

I frequent Panera often, usually to study. Not my ideal spot, but granted they have food. I need substance if I'm exhausting my brain for a prolonged period. The food consists of your typical sandwhiches, salads, soups, and baked goods. It's relatively healthy for the most part, but the options are limited. I like the chicken kale salad, the cobb salad, turkey avocado sandwhich, and the cubano sandwhich. The mac and cheese is okay and so is the tortilla soup. This location is often busy and sometimes it's difficult to find parking. Outlets are extremely limited too. I haven't had a weird experience here until the other day when a random guy got a little too close in my personal space and asked if I wanted to take a walk and talk about it. Anyway long story short, be aware of weirdos even when you have your earphones on! read more

Steve M and I were there on the same day (10/6/2021), same time, so I will echo his sentiments in stating the curbside service is not reliable at all. My husband had just gotten out of the hospital a few days prior and I wanted pick up some comfort food... I needed to find a place that was quick and offered curbside service because I didn't want to leave my husband home alone for long. Panera offers curbside, yet the closer-to-me Panera on El Camino Ave closed its doors so the next nearest was this location on Howe Ave. I figured I could order online, and time my drive so that I'd get to the pick up area just as it was ready. As I was nearly there on my drive over, I got a text that my order was ready, I parked in one of the designated parking spots just outside the front door, checked in, turned on my hazard lights per the instructions, then waited... and waited. After ten minutes went by, I then called the store and had no luck getting to a person. It really wasn't that busy inside and I could see staff members behind the counters, and didn't see any big lines, so I really don't know what was up. After over 15 minutes of waiting and unable to reach a person by phone, I went inside and another person ahead of me was all upset because she did not have her order either and had to get to work. As the person helping her tried to determine what happened with that order, another staff member assisted me, grabbing my bag that was sitting on a nearby cart with other orders. I had paid online so had added a tip (which I regretted) and headed home. The bag was too small so it ripped, then fell over in the car on the ride home. When I got home, the sandwiches were not carefully wrapped at all and the soup portion size wasn't great for the size of the cup. While it could have been an off-night, I surely will not be going to this Panera anytime soon. Curbside shouldn't have been available as an option if they weren't able to follow through. The whole time my car's hazard lights were flashing along with Steve M's car next to me I kept thinking "no one sees these flashing lights?" Boudin SF is nearby and is way more reliable with way better over-all customer service so I'd rather go there than chance it again with Panera. read more

This was my first time at Panera to order food and I got the Pick Two deal with a panini and mac and cheese. I also got a mango smoothie for a drink and all of that came up to around $16 which I thought was kinda pricey, especially for the amount I received. The food was made pretty quickly and it was nice and hot but they barely put any meat on it and the side of bread they give you, you could tell it was just sitting out because it was cold. The mac and cheese was really good however. The service was pretty good and fast and I like the big space for seating. read more

CHECK. YOUR. FOOD!!!!!!! By the time I came home and taken a few bites I realized (only because it fell out of the sandwich) that the avocado they used WAS BLACK!!!! The avocado on all the sandwiches were gross but one was particularly bad. Love the employees here! They are very enthusiastic, friendly, welcoming, fast and efficient. I like starting my day off with a lot of positive energy...it can be quite motivational for a non-morning person like me. Five stars solely for the staff and service! I've been here 3x in the last week. Luckily for me it's between home and work, making it a perfect a.m. pit stop. Their coffee is fresh (they mark what time it was brewed), strong, and extremely hot (be warned). Tuesdays you can get a dozen bagels for $7 (guess who's popular at work on Tuesdays?). The souffles are baked fresh and served hot before 8am. I've only had the bacon/spinach. It's like a quiche with a very flaky croissant crust. I thought $4 might be a little pricey, but it's so good and fills me up like a meal and not as heavy as a bagel with cream cheese. Speaking of bagels, the cinnamon crunch is to die for and so is the roasted vegetable garden cream cheese. Not together of course, but those are my favorite flavors. Tip: Sign up for the Panera rewards card. Discounts and freebies are earned quickly. read more

I'll admit that I usually find myself visiting a "Panera Bread" location more often than not. The reason being is that it offers a lot under one roof; you can enjoy a hot cup of coffee, surf the web on your tablet, smart phone, or laptop (with free wi-fi), indulge in a full breakfast or lunch meal, try one of their salads, or treat yourself to their desserts and baked goods. Additionally, "Panera Bread" usually offers plush seating for reading/studying as well as tables for dining at many of their locations. This "Panera Bread" location is conveniently located on Howe Ave. in the Arden-Arcade area and is only a stones throw away from the American River Bike Trails. It is, however also one of the busiest locations in the area as I've never come here at any given time when I wasn't waiting in line with no customers. However, I come on a rather odd time and day which was a Sunday evening around 7:00pm. Fortunately I was able to order within 2 minutes as I knew exactly what I wanted. I try a healthier alternative to my usual meat-eating diet and try their 1/2 sandwich, 1/2 salad combo (for $8.99). The sandwich that I chose was the "Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich". It included their exclusive Peppadew piquant peppers, feta cheese, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and cilantro jalapeño hummus on their soft tomato basil bread. I then pick the "Fuji Apple Chicken Salad". This salad includes their all-natural grilled chicken, mixed greens, romaine lettuce, vine-ripened tomatoes, red onions, pecans, Gorgonzola cheese and apple chips with a white balsamic apple vinaigrette. My sandwich & salad comes is ready within an astounding 3 minutes; one of the quickest meals that I received at any "Panera Bread" location. Since I take it to-go, the guy asks if everything is in the bag. I say yes but mentioned to him that I ordered a baguette instead of kettle chips. However he gave me my baguette and said "keep the chips"! This was good customer service in my book as he admitted he made a small mistake. Once I get home, my sandwich is loaded with flavor. The Peppadew peppers with jalapeño hummus really delivered that extra spicy kick that packed a punch. And the feta cheese complete with fresh veggies delivered a nice crunch to my sandwich. As far as the salad, the portion they gave me was huge! Almost enough to be classified as a salad entree. I loved the dried apple chips blended in with the moist chicken, Gorgonzola cheese, and apple vinaigrette dressing as it had an authentic taste that is not noticeable in many of today's salads. And best of all, I was so full from the sandwich/salad combo, I didn't eat my baguette and kettle chips. Fortunately, I was able to make my lunch for the next day with that! I'd have to say, "Panera Bread" has gotten better over the years. I've had a few not-so-good experiences in the past with the service and food but this location has been consistently decent as of late. I would avoid coming here during peak hours (8-10am for breakfast and 11am-1pm for lunch) unless you do want to wait in line for awhile. It can be difficult reviewing a chain restaurant but this location does a fairly decent job in what they do. read more

My personal favorites were the pad see ew and Lao pho, the noodles in the pad see ew were delicious and I always like eating this as fresh as possible so the noodles are steaming hot. The pho broth had great flavor and I loved that this Lao version had tomatoes in it. The meat in the pho was also delicious. The pineapple fried rice is a customer favorite, but didn't blow me away. I tend to like savory and spicy more than sweet and savory, so this could by why. The Green Curry was a bit too thin for my preferences, I like a thick curry. It was tasty though and I'm glad I gave it a try. I've driven past this spot countless times but somehow never made it in, until now! I stopped by on a Saturday before noon, and the restaurant was pretty quiet, with only a few tables occupied. The interior is modern, clean, and well kept, making it a nice spot for a casual meal. After looking over the menu, we decided on the Pad Thai with Shrimp (medium heat) and Panang Curry with Chicken (medium heat). While ordering, our server also recommended the Pipo Salad, essentially their take on papaya salad. They offer it Lao or Thai style, and we went with the Thai style with mild heat. Once the food came out, the first thing I noticed was the portion sizes, everything was much bigger than I expected, especially considering the reasonable prices. These are definitely portions that are easy to share family-style. The Pipo Salad had tons of flavor, and I really enjoyed being able to taste the vinegar and fish sauce. One thing to note, though: I ordered it mild, but this ended up being the spiciest dish on the table! I'd say the heat was closer to a medium, while the Pad Thai and curry were much milder. The Pad Thai was solid. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the flavor was there. The Panang Curry was good, although I personally wished both the Pad Thai and curry had a little more heat. Luckily, our server brought out some condiments, including Thai pepper fish sauce, which was excellent with the curry and gave it the extra kick I was looking for. Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving Pipo Ramen and Rice a try. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and there's a good variety of dishes I'm looking forward to exploring on my next visit. My only real complaint is that the spice levels seem a little inconsistent. I wanted my Pad Thai and curry to be spicier, but at the same time, I didn't want my mouth completely on fire. Hi, I'm you're average Panera Bread regular. I sip my coffee and sit by myself at a booth for four with my laptop and I do whatever it is I can do to look and/or feel important in front of other people, because that's the only way I can feel good about my life. It doesn't matter what I do,...sometimes I do my taxes, sometimes I work on the novel I started 22 years ago when I was in college, and sometimes I just sit there with an intellectual NY Times bestseller on the table, closed, with the cover facing away from the table so that everyone can see how intellectual I am, while I hide behind my laptop with my headphones on surfing youtube. Take your antics elsewhere. I'm glad you have a conscience during the lunch rush when little Billy and Sally are standing with their single mom by the soda machine while their food gets cold, hunting for the next person to grab their laptop and leave. Theres plenty of seats at Starbucks so go be with your kind. Theres no room for any attention-grabbers when all of us honest patrons who actually pay to support the free wifi you're sucking up can't find a place to enjoy our meal. Panera Bread, I love you. Keep up the great food, but hire a bouncer. read more

I have visited this Panera location over 100 times since it was built in 2005, and I've seen it change significantly over the years. The menu has expanded to cater to more diverse tastes, which is great, but the prices have increased while portion sizes have shrunk, diminishing the value proposition. Recently, I spent $45 and found the portion sizes to be disappointingly small. For that price, I could have gone to a full-service restaurant. The service was also lacking; the register attendant and the manager were both on their phones, and the manager at the front counter seemed preoccupied with a spreadsheet, possibly related to scheduling. His attitude was terrible and weird--if he's busy, he should go to his office. On a positive note, the ambiance remains pleasant with comfortable seating and a cozy decor. However, the decline in service quality and value for money is frustrating. I hope these issues can be addressed, as I've had better experiences at other locations. read more

Today I had worst experience with Panera. In general I love this place always tasty food, good price, nice staff. When we came today to get delicious chicken soup, cashier said they dont have soup, and it will be ready in about an hour! WTF? Okay...shit happens... So we ordered chicken panini and some pastry. When our panini was ready we found out it was super extremely salted! On our complain to staff, that this food is not eatable 'cause of salt, they said "we didn't put any salt in it..." OMG! I dont give a damn what you put in it, and what not...just do smthn. So then some girl propose to make 1 piece without salt and let us try if it's okay... By the time she returned to us with panini, we finished with pastry, and was kind of full...and canceled everything. It's first time I got so bad time in panera! guys u could do so much better! Very disappointed in this place , I came in on Tuesday to order a dozen of their frosted heart shaped cookies for valentines dau an event pick up time was suppose to be 4 , but did tell her I would p just pick them up on my way to dinner to meet a group where I would be needing these cookies . When arrived the clerk couldn't find the cookies , asks manager , who also doesn't know anything, as I than started to get upset than the manager comes to help and points out I shouldn't be getting upset, really I ordered a dozen cookies , which you did find order placed in the computer but they were not made and now have no time to go and scramble up anything else for this group , and I'm not suppose to be upset really!!!!the manager did offer other things, none of which I was interested in, very poor system if you ask me! read more

What can I say? It's probably the best sandwich chain around. Compared to subway, Mr.Pickles, etc. etc. There's something for everyone here, they have a wide array of soups, breads and specials. I liked the free wifi and the atmosphere for web surfing. I think this location is better suited for groups and meals than a hangout lounge, but all in all, I was very satisfied in all dimensions they offered (Coffee, food, aesthetics) I give 4 stars because of the lack of consistency in their product. I selected the Rigatoni, Five Cheese Marinara, and a total of four Italian Sausages. The pasta dish was satisfying and tasty. I also enjoyed the never-ending bowls of flavorful soups. I was going between the Pasta e Fagioli and Chicken & Gnocchi, because they were both so delicious. The server during my dining experience was Cena. Her hospitality was beyond amiable, kind, and attentive. She ensured that I was taken care of as a guest and handled every single need in a quick manner. The interior of the restaurant was inviting and clean. I loved the entertaining music played throughout the restaurant. The price point of the food was reasonable. Parking was quite easy and accessible. Olive Garden Italian Kitchen is literally one of my favorite chain restaurants. I will be returning to this specific location in the near future.

As soon as I walked in the lady said I took 3$ off for your sauces. I thought wow that was nice because they're literally 84 cents each. She proceeded to run back and forth getting various sauces she brought 2 marinara and 4 ranch. When I got home I noticed there were no dipping sauces for the churros (which taste like literally nothing without the icing they're just bread with cinnamon not sugar). I had assumed she put it in the bag because from where I was standing the bag was already sitting open on the counter. I immediately call and tell them I want a refund. For all the churros and a guy says they can only refund the sauce. I say okay, I'm getting in the car and coming back with the churros I need a refund for all the churros lol. He said the manager was no longer in and I'd have to wait until tomorrow. So I call the next day and a different guy says they're going to give me a refund and hangs up abruptly and I think okay awesome. That's all, problem solved! No. Later in the day I get a call and the person is the woman who handed me my order initially. She tells me I'm going to give you this refund but I specifically remember telling you we had no sauce for the churros and I gave you 6 ranch to compensate??? Which wasn't true she gave me two marinara which I assumed came with the cheese sticks and then the 4 ranch I paid for. Now that makes no sense, why would extra ranch make up for not providing the sauce for a dessert. If I understood I was getting dry cinnamon powdered bread with no icing I would have asked for a refund immediately. Plus why would a company call you after they've already given you a refund just to argue with you about what was said and done. Finally to top it all off after I explained everything written above about what she provided me she kept repeating that I was mistaken and she gave me 6 ranch to make up for her not providing the icing. Then she said it one more time for good measure and decided to hang up on me. Super weird unprofessional behavior. I've lived next to the location for 10+ years and I've gone there maybe twice. Not too sure I'll go back after this such an odd experience for how much I paid for mediocre food.

I guess we were doing dessert before regular food that day and I'm here for it-ice cream was pretty good. The spicy chicken sandwich was served very hot and was pretty tasty. Nothing groundbreaking here-Chick-Fil-A has really good sandwiches and are very satisfying in a pinch or otherwise. The service at this location was stellar-the food was high quality and I wouldn't hesitate to come back whenever I was in the mood for a solid chicken sandwich.
