I had the perfect experience at this Mod Pizza location! The friendliest staff and absolute best customer service! I have severe food allergies with gluten and was nervous about whether I'd be able to eat safely. Marissa (who made my pizza) was incredibly kind and thoughtful, and went out of her way to make sure I felt safe about potential cross contamination. She took the toppings from fresh unopened containers without me even having to ask, and checked with her manager to see whether the cauliflower crust would also be gluten free for me. (Her manager was very kind about it too!) I'm accustomed to having a lot of difficulty getting people to take my allergies seriously when eating out, and they made this experience so easy and lovely. However, the thing I am unhappy about is the cheese. When I ordered online, I noted that I want the cheese under the toppings, like a normal pizza. They always default to putting the vegan cheese on top, resulting in it all sticking to the lid of the pizza box and your toppings sliding off and sticking to the roof of your mouth when eating it. It's very unpleasant. Despite asking, my request was ignored. It's a shame that I won't be able to order ahead in the future. If you aren't short on time and don't have any special (yet reasonable) requests, you'll probably have a good experience. read more

I love Mod Pizza! It is my favorite pizza by the slice in this area. It reminds me of 5 Guys for burgers bc at Mod you can put AS MANY toppings without the extra charge!!!!!!! How awesome is that? And the quality of the pizza is great. For $10.83 you get a big size for 1 person that really can be shareable with 1 other person. The smaller pizza is the "mini" for $8.83 which is a 6 inch. The Mod is and 11 inch. I really like all the options for toppings such as artichokes, basil, cheeses, and different veggies from the garbanzo peas, corn, zucchini, you name it they've got it! This location was a bit busy as one of the employees mentioned they're under staffed. However, that didn't stop them from putting a smile on their faces, greeting the customers entering the establishment, and still keeping a positive attitude. So keep it up Mod staff, I will continue to come and support! Next time, I will try the desserts! They also have an array of different juices which I forgot to snap a photo. This is undoubtedly my #1 favorite fast-fired pizza restaurant with Blaze Pizza and Pieology as my runners up. But something about MOD that sets it apart from the rest is that their pizza is not only tasty but also less greasy. And their Marionberry Lemonade beverage is a refreshingly delicious way to pair up your customizable pizza creation. MOD Pizza currently operates in 29 states around America. The location I am focusing on is at the Howe Bout Arden shopping center in the Arden-Arcade neighborhood of Sacramento. I am no stranger to this particular location as I have been to a private Yelp event here (back in 2016) and have eaten here on many occasions since then. Parking isn't that difficult to find as I have never had any issues while normally parking directly outside of the business. I ended up dining here around 8:00pm during the evening of Friday 6/10/2022. Since it was still a very warm 94°F at that time, I definitely decided to dine inside. I also noticed that this actual location does not offer any outdoor seating. However, the overall layout of this place is very spacious with a sizable seating area, a large wall displaying photos of peoples' experience at MOD pizza, a self-serve fountain drink station, and two public restrooms. The ordering process is very simple as you tell them what type of pizza crust you'd like as well as the sauce, cheese, spices, veggies, and meat. Since I enjoy variety in my pizza, I decided to go half & half. One half was their signature "Dominic" (white sauce, asiago, fresh chopped basil, red onion, sliced tomatoes, mild sausage) while the other half was their "Mad Dog" (mozzarella, pepperoni, mild sausage, ground beef, red sauce). I also added several scoops of Ricotta cheese on my Dominic while loading up more sausage on the Mad Dog. What I like about MOD Pizza is that there is no limit as to how many toppings you're allowed where the price doesn't increase. I've even witnessed customers put layers of meat on their pizza to make it look more like a pizza skyscraper, lol. After placing my order, it is ready within 7 quick minutes. The pizza itself was piping hot and delicious. And the "Marionberry Lemonade" is in a class all by itself and it had that sweet and tart flavor to it. As I mentioned, since this is a fast-fired pizza, the taste was not greasy while being absolutely delicious. The veggies and meat were fresh while the crust was crispy while not being burnt. I also noticed the staff all working together and communicating within one another as a team which made the entire process simplified. All in all, "MOD Pizza" was an exceptional experience and worthy of a five-star Yelp review at the Arden location. I have also been to a few other of their Sacramento-area restaurants (Roseville & West Sacramento) and both of those locations are just as good. With that said and done, this company is doing it right by training good people with an overall excellent experience. read more

I've never been to a MOD Pizza before but have been to plenty of similar build your own pizza places. The concept here is pretty much the same. But I didn't know entirely what kind of sauces, cheeses and toppings they had because nothing was labeled, so it was a bit hard to tell when I was walking down the line picking my items. I wish they had everything at least listed out on the menu board or labeled at each station, like other places do. To me, the only difference here was the crust. It's thinner than thin and flatter than flatbread. It's probably better calorie wise but I do prefer a thicker crust. They had a thicker crust upgrade but I wonder if it's just a regular crust at that point. The ingredients were pretty loaded although I would've liked more meat since I only picked ground beef. The ricotta was a bit strange because they just put a few giant dollops but I just had to spread it out myself. My favorite part was the balsamic drizzle at the end. Overall pretty good pizza but nothing super unique so I'd probably still continue to go to Pieology or Blaze over this one. read more

Pizza was great, as usual! The girl making our pizza (didn't catch her name) was so friendly! She genuinely seemed like she wanted to be there and asked us how our day was all the while correctly and quickly making our pizzas. It was about 6 pm on a Saturday so I expected it to be more busy than it was. We were able to find a table with no problem. I used the ladies' room during our visit, and it was clean and tidy. It probably helps that you need a pass code to open the door. We will definitely be back and hopefully the same friendly girl will be there! read more
