Sometimes we come across people/businesses that still have a heart, and show kindness despite the trying times we live in. when I came into this mountain Mike's, there had been a mistake on the order of a small pizza, and it wasn't thier fault it was mine. I had been in Sacramento navigating a family emergency with my daughter hospitalized and us very far from home. when the mistake happened, I took the pizza and went to the car, opened it and realized my son wouldn't be able to eat it. I broke down crying outside, and this is what I mean, the owner not only noticed, he came up put a hand on my shoulder gently an encouraged me to come back in, despite crying and being a wreck. he offered to remake the pizza, no charge, and went even further to ask if there was anything he could do, I shared some of our story, and he asked me how many were in my family, and if more pizza on him would help. I graciously thanked him, declined as one was enough, and just asked for prayers for us all. I asked him for a hug in that moment because as a mom, life gets sooooooo difficult and draining and scary, and as a mom I try to be strong for my kids, but sometimes it's too much. the human side of this gentlman was above and beyond. I'm sorry I took this long to write this review but I knew I had to. I don't know your name, or why you didn't just walk past me that day? but I thank God you spoke with me, and solved what felt like a huge problem in the moment. If I could leave a review of 0 stars I would. I have ordered before plenty of times from here without an issue. And the one time I ordered and had a problem with the food being overcooked I was treated as though I was being dishonest. The single handed worker at night overcooked my pizza, wings and breadsticks. When I called to explain my dissatisfaction I was told that I could get a 25 percent discount for my next meal. I asked for a manager name and was told they have no manager that works there and I asked to confirm why that is and was told because there isn't. Buyer beware because I purchased here regularly and received the type of treatment that a customer shouldn't receive for bringing a legitimate complaint to their attention. When I visited the next day ask for a refund I was told that I was a lair and the employer that helped me that's day lied about me calling the night before to make the complaint. I was questioned as to what I did once I purchased the pizzas and why I was wanting refund after showing photos of the food burnt. The place is full of people that are obviously using and loitering and it is a location for even mountain mikes that I have never seen as bad as this location. Did they get new owners at this la Riviera location? Went yesterday for lunch and it was horrible! This has always been my go to location and had always been excellent! Yesterday, pizza had hardly any toppings and very little cheese. I am so disappointed! Store was in a disarray. Not clean. Will have to now go to the fair oaks store. If the la Riviera location continues to be cheap they will definitely go out of business at this location. So sad! read more

Half way through the pizza and noticed a pink tint on the underside of a piece of sausage. One of my kids probably ate some. I like my steak medium rare but not my sausages. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!! I suspect new ownership, as this used to be a good place to watch a game and have pizza and pitchers. Worst pizza experience EVER. Smelly, dirty and filled with storage of inappropriate items in common areas. Staff were inattentive and insulting. Video games were broken and out of order. Drink machine had flavors out of service. Seems like new ownership (probably foreign) - Who's trying to cut corners to make a buck at the expense of quality. I ordered a pizza to pick up at 3:50 PM. The manager was just putting it in the oven as I arrived. He would not grant a discount and proceeded to have a casual conversation about football with another employee as I waited 15 minutes for the pizza to cook. The pizza was pretty good. It doesn't taste like cardboard like some of the cheaper chain pizza places. They are a bit on the pricey side. $40 for one pizza and a few chicken wings is too much. We gave up trying to order on their website. It took longer trying to figure out the website than it did calling it in and picking it up. They told us 1/2 hour to pick it up, but in total it was more like 50 minutes. To be fair, we ordered it an hour before they closed. They did not accept cash which is fine, but they might want to tell you that before you go pick it up. But if I'm rating the pizza. It was good. read more

I wish I could give zero stars but I have to give 1 star to write a review. We ordered a thin crust pizza, over $50 with tip. Pizza arrived 45 minutes later and looked great but then we discovered it was not thin crust. I have diabetes and can't have all the carbs, so we called to report the mistake. We were informed that they would bring a replacement but that they would collect the old pizza, so now we're talking an hour and a half to wait for our pizza. The manager then called us back to very rudely confirm that the first pizza would be collected. When the replacement arrived the delivery woman was also rude and the pizza looked awful. The pizza was slid to the side of the box and it didn't have enough toppings. We were extremely disappointed with the so called customer service and will never order from here again. read more

Incredible find! Very welcoming friendly service from the moment we went in. Ordered a white garlic sauce based chicken mushroom and red onion pizza to go with the garlic bread bites. Whilst we were waiting we had an incredible Californian cider Berry/Hibiscus. The service from everyone there was so friendly we wanted to stay and not do take out! Ok first off? I have no affiliation with this pizza place but I typically read reviews before I try a new restaurant, and I have to say most of poor reviews for this location are reeeeeeediculous--and more importantly have nothing to do with the actual pizza. Which is really, REALLY good. The pepperoni pizza is seriously amazing: the pepperoni curls into crispy little cups of joy. No flat, average pepperonis here! In addition, the texture is just perfect. I want to try the other flavors but it's just so good I'm not sure if I'll get the chance! The ranch dip is also very solid. Get the cute heart-shaped pizza if you order around Valentine's Day! I was very impressed with the service, the guy I spoke to on the phone was very polite, and the delivery guy was also great, calling to let us know when he was almost at our location and found our door right away even though the address is a bit confusing. My husband and I order from Mountain Mikes every week and I'd love to give this location 5 stars but lately the quality has been going down. We always get an order of their garlic cheese sticks and the garlic part of that item has been lacking. It used to be this wonderful burst of garlic flavor in every bite but these last few weeks it's been extremely bland. It just taste like plain crust with cheese on top. I hope they fix this or we'll be moving on to a different location. read more

STINGY LUNCH BUFFET THE SIT-REP (Situation Report) I need to emphasize that this review pertains ONLY to the LUNCHTIME PIZZA BUFFET option and does not encompass either the TAKE-OUT service pizza nor the EVENING dining-in experience. This pizza venue is exactly halfway between where I live and where I work. If for some reason I have to jet home to pick up a forgotten item (usually a case file I was working on the night before and need that afternoon), this venue among several in the Sacramento State University area, is in a convenient location to get off on the Power Inn exit and grab a bite to eat. THE FARE So I actually feel terrible about writing this review since it is my first TWO STAR REVIEW. But you know? If a food establishment lacks CUSTOMER SERVICE CONSIDERATION and is STINGY on the PRIMARY PRODUCT that is being offered, then it is brought on themselves. First the one POSITIVE: the pizza is DECENT. In the pizza-universe, I rate it better than DOMINOS, and about as good as Round Tables (but Round Table has a much better buffet-service logistic at work, and I look to the KEIFER road Round Table as a model of a very workable pizza buffet). As far as pizza goes, I like Zelda's and Giovanni's much much more. But last time I checked, neither has lunchtime buffets, though Giovanni's has a great $6 two-slice & soda lunch special. So you do the math and calculate your "hunger"-quotient. But back to the review at hand.... So the NEGATIVES now: three weeks ago the Tuesday before we descended into the Thanksgiving Holiday madness, I am one of the few members of a skeleton crew left to work at our State Office. I stop by, not with a whole lot of time on my hands to get back to work (only 25-30 mins really to sit and eat), but I delude myself into thinking that a BUFFET means that food is conveniently put out in quantity to satisfy the hunger needs of the ALL OF THE PAYING PATRONS. Apparently this establishment did not get that memo. A pizza buffet by definition is a "BUFFET", which means if you have an advertised lunch time special for a lunch time crowd that you already KNOW is going to have significant numbers of people attend, you shouldn't be caught blindsided or act "surprised" that there are so many people coming to eat at your restaurant between the times of 11:30am to 1pm. Ergo, you should be PREPARED with ample supplies of pizza for the patrons to eat. NOT HAVING TO WAIT 5-10 mins before the NEXT pizza or two pizzas arrive, and that are quickly dissected and dispersed. This is why in my experience CHINESE BUFFETS are far superior eating scenarios than PIZZA BUFFETS in terms of COST, in terms of VARIETY, and (not insignificantly) in terms of TIME. If you are sitting at your table, waiting for the establishment to bring out even JUST one or two more pizzas, but have to watch the other patrons descend on them (like VULTURES upon a meager carcass of roadkill), and then there is hardly anything left for you to grab, you are not getting either your money's worth or using your time efficiently. Just by way of comparison, when hitting the CHINESE BUFFET, there never is a lack of variety or lack of quantity, which makes you wonder about most pizza establishment's business plans for the BUFFET-LUNCH, since the preparation of just a select number of kinds of pizzas is definitely not as complicated as the preparation of the tremendous varieties & quantities of food that a Chinese Restaurant has to prepare. [I will leave it to your own deductive-minds to sort out the business plans, business ethics, personal dedication to professionalism to compare and contrast the management and staff teams of those demographics that predominantly run each varied cuisine-themed establishments.] THE LOWDOWN If I'm in transit on HWY 50, if I've been to the Chinese Buffet earlier in the week, if I have more than 30 mins of time to kill, and if I have a case file to read while waiting, and if I have a pizza craving I just can't get rid of (and if the MOON is in the 7th House, and JUPITER is behind MARS), then I MIGHT go back.... read more

Then the useless staff said they lost...our pizzas? Thanks a$$holes. They offered to make another but the guy that came from the back had black spots of dirt on his hands. No thanks. The refund hasn't gone through yet by the way.
