It was chilly outside and we were fighting the crowds while Christmas shopping. We wanted a place that was casual but cozy. Panera Bread is the perfect place to eat on a cold winters day. The restaurant has an inviting feel, with lots of booths and tables to tuck into, and with cozy fireplaces to sit near. I avoided the pastry case which is always so tempting. The delicious shortbread cookies were calling my name. I had to ignore them and walk away! I ordered the Thai Crunch salad and Cream of Chicken and Rice soup (an unlikely pair, I know). The soup was warm, thick, and delicious with large chunks of chicken and lots of wild rice! The salad had a tang to the dressing that I couldn't put my finger on. It wasn't my favorite but I made due. It was the soup that was exactly what I needed! A clean location with friendly customer service and a great selection of delicious goodies to choose from. No Bueno! I placed an order of a bakers pack this morning at 7 !! I come by after work to pick up my bagels and they told me there's only THREE, yes 3 bagels left. If I knew they wouldn't pack MY bagels and pass it out to other people I wouldn't waste my time!! At least CALL me and TELL me my bagels are gone so I don't have WASTE my time. Thanks for nothing. If you sign up for the My Panera card you can get free food offers. It's a great place for carb loading, like their wonderful soups, breads, sandwiches, and pastries. A nice treat is their broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl. Their lighter options, like salads are amazing too, like the chicken and Fuji apple salad. I love Panera but this location in particular is great. The seating area is spacious and plentiful; I've never not found a seat during a busy lunch break. The service is great, everyone is attentive, and everything is fresh. Wi-Fi available as well as outdoor seating. If you've never been to Panera, I strongly suggest that you try one of their savory salads; my fave is the chicken caesar salad. Also try the Mac n cheese at least once. It's hearty so you might catch the "itis" from consumption. Lastly, this is probably one of the places on earth that serves diet caffeine Pepsi. read more

Not being a bread-lover, it's surprising to me how much I love Panera. I guess that's because they offer so much more than bread! This is a great place to meet my FH for lunch, since it's in between our jobs. The atmosphere is nice, and the rapid pick-up feature allows us to order and pay ahead of time and just pick up our food when we get there- awesome! We both love their pick 2 menu, because there are SO MANY choices to create your own lunch. I love to get the Fuji Apple salad with a 1/2 sandwich or flatbread and add a fruit cup as my side. This comes out around $10 bucks without a drink, so it's not exactly cheap, but it is tasty and relatively healthy. Plus it fills me up! Each item is priced individually, so you can make your combo come out cheaper if you desire. Plus, with the myPanera rewards, I get rewards for coming here. Last time I had a free baked good, and this time I earned $2 off my Pick 2 (score)! The downsides to this location are mainly the parking lot where it's located. It is full-on crazytown at lunch, and you are as likely to hit someone as you are to find an open spot. But, I will say it's worth it. Plus there is outdoor seating which is awesome. My only other complaint is that the last time I was there, I picked up my order and looked for flatware. It's not available, so you have to ask behind the counter. When I did this, the guy said, "It should be in your bag." While I agree that yes, it SHOULD be in my bag, I couldn't tell that it was. He literally sat there and waited until I pulled out everything from my bag to confirm that NO, there was no silverware or napkins in the bag, before the handed me a fork. WTF?? Dude, don't be an ass! Will the entire company go bankrupt if I get two forks?? He shouldn't have even asked, he should have just handed it to me, transaction over. I had my hands full already and then took another like two minutes to get everything BACK into my bag so that I could go eat. This seriously did not sit well with me. -1 for lousy customer service. Other than this, I recommend Panera. It's tasty, has a good variety, and rewards its customers; all things I love. read more

I love it when a place with "bread" in their business name runs out of bread and has to make a sandwich with an alternate bread. I waited about 5 minutes longer than my lunch date to get my lunch. There seemed to be some confusion between the sandwich artists. My sandwich was really good though - I had the Sierra Turkey. The chairs are comfortable and the place was nice and quiet with only an occasional "pling" from other patrons chatting on msn. This location has free wifi. read more

A fantastic product, with unlimited coffee and teas when your there - can't say that about Starbucks. Plus if you the type that likes to study away from home, in at a coffee shop, you can just buy that one cup and use the free WiFi. My personal favorite is the Turkey Artichoke Panini, but they've changed that up a bit. In the glory days, they used to have read onions baked right into the ciabatta bread and offered Dirty Chips as a side. They're mixing things up now by adding some delicious red and yellow peppers - but I still miss their old offering. This place is healthy, and not void-of-carbs healthy, but good food without all the extra fat and sugar. You get a quality product, and although it might be upwards of $10 for a meal, it comes out fast and doesn't bog you down with grease and deep-fried, bagged, salted food. Daily they have a find selection of soups, always a vegetarian option available. The bread bowl is a particular favorite of mine, with a whole loaf of sourdough pumpkin-scooped to make room for steamy, cheesy goodness that is French onion. Just a personal favorite aspect of Panera, all of their coffee comes from Costa Rica. I lived there for 3 years, so I'm partial to the quality of fine-roasted Tico coffee. Pura Vida! read more

I keep trying to come here to get a healthy lunch and work some but the food is pretty pricey and the internet is so slow it won't load the most basic of websites. I'm happy to pay a bit more for food if I intend to sit and work somewhere but then I need the internet to at least be functional. Unfortunately if I want just healthy food I can get it somewhere else for a more reasonable cost. This is the Panera closest to my office. Always good and friendly service. Everything I've tried here is good! I also love ordering online and every time I've done it to this store the food is waiting for me when I arrive, which is usually very shortly after I put in the order. The rewards you get with MyPanera are usually awesome too. I've been enjoying my daily free coffee this month! One star off for having made a mistake on my order before. It must have been the time of day that I came here... during lunch of course. It probably took me 30 mins from the time i ordered to the time I left here (to go). It was just so ridiculously crowded. The service was okay, rush and efficient but almost no customer service really. I'm not often in Sacramento, I just happened to be working there one day and my co workers wanted Panera. I've not had any complaints about any Panera Breads and am usually happy with their service.. it must have been an off day/time. read more

It's pretty pathetic for a restaurant with the word bread in its name to run out of bread CONSTANTLY. They run out of the baguette they give you for a side, the bread bowls, the bread that your sandwich is supposed to come on...oh but they're not partial to running out of bread, they'll also run out of the soups and they either run out of lids for drinks or they're not diligent enough to replenish them. And then they expect you to play the same amount for your substitution riddled subpar meal, no effort to make up for it. read more

This is one of the larger Paneras I've been to. I go to school out in Natomas so I often study with classmates at this Panera if the school is closed and we need to work on something. It's got tons of room to have study groups in which I love. The food is great and the staff is very friendly. Getting into and out of this area can be troublesome especially if you go during a busy time but that shouldn't deter you from coming here. Make sure you get a MyPanera rewards card too so you can get rewards when you visit. read more

Wifi is free but limited during 'peak' hours usually around lunch and before dinner although I don't feel that they get that much traffic to limit wifi use. Food is always good for a quick bite. I got tomato soup and a vegetarian sandwich. It's decent. The food is 3.5 stars. Yet I gave 4 stars since the place is spacious with lots of seating (I even saw a few comfy chairs!)... I'm used to working in cramped spaces at Starbucks... I'm pretty sure Panera has free wifi. I made a mental note to come back here on days I need to work on things away from home vs. Starbucks. I ordered a Fuji apple salad with no chicken add avocado because I'm a vegetarian. First off there was hardly any avocado so I added my own avocado poured the dressing and started to eat and found little pieces of chicken. As if some one poured dressing then realized and pulled out what they could but left the little pieces. At this time it is 7:45 I live 15 minutes away. I tried to call and no answer it took several times to call before they answered. At this point nothing can be done because they are about to close. Gosh! This place has really bad reviews... Now I know why... I always wanted to go to Panera but never had the chance until today... I only had $14 and some change... I looked at their menu and OMG! the prices of sandwich is so high... I got a turkey artichoke panini, cup of french onion soup, iced tea and chocolate chip cookie for $14.17. That is a lot for 1 person. I went over my budget... The french onion soup was very salty and the bread it came with was super hard... The iced tea was just ok, it was suppose to be raspberry iced tea but I could barely taste the raspberry... The sandwich was big but didn't have enough spinach artichoke spread and had red onions instead of caramelized onions like the menu says... The sandwich is suppose to have Asiago-Parmesan cheese but not enough of it. The only thing that was good was the chocolate chip cookie. How sad is that? I will try this place again to see if today was just off day... Or what? read more

So we use this location for work catering, probably 3-4 times a week. They are always on time if not early! When i mess up they help fix it quickly and the People that work there are amazing!! So patient and kind and willing to work with whatever requests (Reasonably of course). The food is always Delicious and served with a smile!! The Delivery Drivers are always on time or early and they ROCK!! We love this Panera! read more

Horrible location. Do not go there.!! They have curbside signs out. I ordered the from the app, checked in when I got there and waited for nearly 20 minutes. I finally called the number and the girl was snooty and said that when they have time to send someone out to curbside to deliver food they will and why not just come inside. I went in and found them not even busy, my order had been ready for a while, was set in the pick up area and was now cold. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE CURBSIDE, DON'T ADVERTISE IT AND HAVE SIGNS OUT and then have the gull to be snooty with someone who just waited patiently for you to do your job. I am officially addicted to the french onion soup. O m g its delicious! The staff are always super friendly and helpful. Occasionally the order will come out wrong but they are always happy to fix it in a hurry. I've never been to this Panera location but I figured it's convenient for when I get off work @ 6:30am to pick-up simple breakfast for Father's Day until we celebrate later. Placed my curb side pick up order 2 days in advance w/pick-up time being 7:10am. As previously mentioned, I got off work @ 6:30am & arrived early. They didn't opened until 7am & my pick-up time wasn't until 7:10am so I waited until 7:05am to pull into curbside parking, located my email & clicked on "I'm here". However I didn't put on my hazard light as suggested for faster service. It's now 7:20am & finally someone brings out my order. She apologized for the delay, I say it's ok & I take my coffee & 1 bag she brings out w/my order. I quickly check my order & I'm missing all my bagels. I'm annoyed now because I have to go in. Yes, I could've called & have them bring it out but that meant I'll be waiting who knows how much longer just for bagels. So I lock up & go in. Cashier welcomes me & tells me she can take my order on the first register. I quickly explained I had a curbside order, it was just brought out to me & that I'm received everything except all my bagels. She asks me, "Are you sure?" No, I'm not sure. I'm 7 months pregnant, placed an curbside pickup then decided I feel like walking in after my order was brought out to me so see if I can get 5 additional bagels by saying I didn't receive any in the first place! Seriously, they opened @ 7am. Other than 1 other customer, there was no one else. How do you mess up a simple order so early in the morning? Then to top it off, I get home & all my sandwich's are cold like it's been sitting out for a while... ok I can warm them up, no biggie but my wrap was crispy & hard. I tell my husband the coffee is for him but I can't guarantee it's any good. It's was supposed to have Almond Milk & Cane Sugar but it was just cold brew, straight black coffee that looked watered down & no ice. This is a reminder why I do not agree (yet I still give people the benefit of the doubt & tip ahead for service) when asked for tipping amount. I think I might have come in at just the right time (right after the initial breakfast rush and before lunchtime) as I didn't run into as much trouble as other reviewers have. I was helped right away and picked up an asiago bagel, two souffles and a hot chocolate to go. The bagel and souffles were packed up for me quite quickly but the hot chocolate took about ten minutes to come out. Odd. This my favorite place to study and the food is good too. In fact, I drive out of my way to come here. I'm comfortable, I never feel rushed, and the staff is generally pretty nice. I always get the you-pick-two with a smokehouse turkey panini and whatever sounds good to me in the soups -- usually black bean. Hey Panera, where's the mushroom soup? :( If no black bean, I like to get the macaroni and cheese, even if I know it's a bit much. With your you-pick-two, you also get a choice of side. For me, it's *always* the baguette, preferably the whole grain for the lovely texture. Even better is when the bread is hot. I need to figure out when that is, so I can time my visits. :) My other must-have here is the frozen caramel. It's a sort of coffee-based drink, but is so sugary that most of the time, I don't notice or mind the coffee. Yes, I'm one of those weird people who doesn't like coffee. The advantage of this location is that there are a decent amount of plugs for your laptop if you know where to look. I have my favorite tables (as I'm sure everyone else does.) Sometimes I watch them like a hawk so I can swoop down when people leave. No, I'm not going to tell you where they are. Ooh, I'm feeling like I need Panera right now. I wonder if I'm going to be able to resist. Willpower melting. Excuse to go there to *study* for change of scenery getting stronger. Yes, this is a chain. But it's also yummy. It's a place I feel comfortable at, and that's important to me. On the wi-fi front, one person mentioned getting kicked off after a half-hour. It's the same in other Paneras, or at least part of the time. The deal is that you only get a half-hour between their peak times, which seems reasonable because they want to make sure people can also come in for lunch and get tables. I usually time my visits so that I have enough wifi time -- say at 1:30, or even better, earlier than that to keep myself from screwing around too much on the internet instead of studying. read more

Something I learned when I was in Missouri. The Panera chain is from St. Louis, and is called the St. Louis Bread Company there. The colors, menu and store image are the same, just the name is different. Just got back from lunch here at Panera with Amazing today. I ordered their new Salmon sandwich on Croissant, White Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese and Creamy Tomato Soup. Service was excellent. There wasn't much in the way of clean tables at prime lunch hour, so when I went to ask for a towel to clean off an empty one, the girl I asked came around and cleaned one off, and I mean right away. By the time she was done, our food was ready. Lightning fast!! Which is great when you're on a lunch break. With only two hands and three trays, another girl helped me take the trays to my newly washed table. Amazing loves her Frontega Chicken Panini, and reminisced over the Cuban Style Pork Panini she loved so much from years ago. The chunk of salmon in the middle of my croissant looked like it should be used as bait for fishing guppies. Either that or my croissant was just too big. A few bites from my cavernous maw went without fishy goodness. The salmon was cooked well and the sauce compliments the taste perfectly. I'm not sure I would have designed the sandwich with Applewood Bacon, but it is on there, and in true Panera style, it was overcooked and so hard and crunchy I thought I had found bone in the salmon. There would have been no way to tell the difference. The soup was as good as you would expect it, well seasoned and perfect with the bread. I order this soup and the Macaroni and Cheese because the two tastes put together are something that put me back to childhood. Simplicity of flavors a mother would serve with the complex seasonings of a corporate chain chef that I as an adult appreciate. The problem though, was the Macaroni was overcooked... yesterday... then microwaved today. My White-Hot Cheddar Macaroni Mush took forever to cool and was just the absolute wrong consistency with both the cheese and the pasta. The flavor in the cheese though was spot on. I'll be back. Put the Cuban Pork Panini back on the menu and Amazing will be too excited for words. read more

Granted my first review was over 3 years ago but we gave this locale a try again about a year ago and have gone back numerous times since. Better employees, better service. Possibly under new management? I love their chopped chicken Thai salad. Low cal and very tasty. That's pretty much my standard when going to Panera. Unless it's for breakfast which is usually a bagel or a quiche. There's always room for improvement so it doesn't hurt to give an establishment another try! :) read more

I LOVE this panera. Plenty of outlets to plug your computer into, plenty of seats to sit in, so you can use their wi-fi to your hearts content and not worry about your power running out. The people here are reaaally nice too. I go often when i have a midterm or final to study for. They even know me by name now, haha. YUM! Great caterers. I've been a fan of Panera's since eating at their restaurants, but now that I work for a business that orders a LOT of lunches, I've taken advantage of Panera's easy catering service more than once! Breakfast wise, the bagel pack is a great deal. 2 spreads come with every dozen, so if you're ordering A LOT, you end up with a lot of options which is always great. The people at my work go crazy for the cinnamon crunch, so don't be surprised if those go fast. The plain is my personal favorite, maybe because I'm boring, but it's still super delicious. I've also ordered muffins from here and they're great as well. Lunch is where they hit their stride. Personally, I love me a bacon turkey bravo sandwich. It's amazing, the sauce is amazing, and it's SUPER filling. Catering wise, the pack is a great deal. 5 sandwiches cut in half, salad, cookies, chips. Everyone gets a little of everything and leaves full. I always get the BBQ Chicken Salad, which is definitely worth the $5 extra. I ordered this pack for lunch today and people were thrilled. In the mall alongside Target, Old Navy, B&N etc where we used to shop regularly. So a good place to grab a bite after sometime of shopping. There were a lot of school kids here when we went, seems like a local high-school hangout.
