My feelings are mixed, Panara Bread. I hate you because you're a chain, your sandwiches can be rather sloppy, and the menus are riddled with caloric information (I don't want to know! Ever!). However, I love you because you're uber-convenient, reasonably tasty and you have yummy Republic of Tea teas. I will continue to frequent this location as it truly is the only option for decent food in the area of the 'konk that I like to call Strip Mall Drive, where there is absolutely nothing - NOTHING - but fast food and super-store chains. This Panera Bread needs to shape up. Regardless of the time you go, a Panera Bread should be clean and efficient...not much to ask for, right? However, the last few times I've been here after 8pm this location has been an utter disaster. Twice they got my order wrong (I had to call and ask for a refund as they forgot primary toppings on my salad) and last night when I took my salad out of the bag I got avocado on my hand as they must have placed the salad box down on the counter where they had sliced the avocado. It took too long to get my salad and then I got slimed by avocado, not very pleasant. Typical Panera but I should say that the management is on point. It is made obvious that they care for their patrons and are ready and willing to make things right. I find this location to be extremely busy all the time, but even more so at the linch time rush. I recommened ordering in advance for pick up, otherwise you spend the majority of your lunch hour standing and waiting. The parking is mediocre, minimal to say the least. I like this Panera. I mean it's always super busy anytime I go but the wait can't be more then 10-15min for hot fresh food. I'm really into the tuna sandwich no onions, turkey bravo sandwich and cheese/broccoli soup. If you do a you pick two then you get a half sandwich and a salad or soup(save money that way). The portions are just right on with everything. Also you can't go wrong with mac and cheese. Creamy sauce and soft noodles. This happens to be one of my favorite places to go out for lunch. Their options are both healthy , tasty and filling. I've tried multiple things on their menu and some of my favorites would be the turkey smokehouse panini and the bbq chicken flatbread. Both are just amazing. The first is made with perfectly smoked turkey , bacon , cheddar and tomato ale mustard. The second made with onions , Fresh spinach , bbq chicken, smoked Gouda and melted mozzarella. Absolutely phenomenal. I also enjoy the low fat lemon chicken orzo soup, tomato soup and Mac & Cheese. The cinnamon crunch bagel is not so healthy but a delicious treat to have. For drinks I really enjoy the low- fat wild berry smoothie made with the same organic yogurt I use at home. Affordable and clean eating that someone will enjoy! read more

The kid and I stopped in here for lunch before a pre-paint trip to Home Depot and, honestly, I had fairly low expectations, since my last few visits hadn't been very good. The food is the same, but the service yesterday was absolutely amazing. I ordered with Linda and after telling me my total, she offered to bring my lunch over. I thanked her and said I'd just need to grab a high chair. No need, she said, she'd grab one for me. I have no idea if this is policy or not, but it made my afternoon. It was certainly above and beyond what I'd ever expected at Panera or, for that matter, pretty much anywhere that isn't a sit down restaurant. She checked in twice, to make sure I had everything I needed. I can't express properly how grateful I am for this. This alone will certainly make me a repeat customer. I provided the following as feedback directly to the store, but it certainly deserves to be repeated here. It seems issues like this are not uncommon recently. I placed an online order at 5:52PM and was notified that it would be available for pickup at 6:02PM. I arrived at the Seeking location shortly after 6PM and found that the order was not on the shelving as it has been in the past. I stood around waiting, noticing others come and go - including at least three other to-go orders. I approached the bar area to ask if anyone was working on an order with my name on it, and was dismissed with a "it'll be ready in a minute and we'll call you." Waiting around another 15 minutes or so (it was now 6:28PM), I caught a woman return to the bar area from the shelving area in the back of the cafe. I went back there to check and my order was finally available - but it had a note to see a manager as one of the soups in the order was not available. I walked around to the front, spoke with someone who appeared to be in charge - and she was able to complete the order with an alternative soup. When I noted the 25+ minute delay, she simply responded with "have a good night." Annoyed, I got out to my vehicle and called the "Feedback" number on the receipt. I was quickly connected with someone who verified a zip code, listened to a quick version of the above, and said that she would "relay the feedback" and it was clear that would be that. When I got home I found that my panini was soggy. So much so, that upon opening it - my finger went through the top of the bread. A bagel from the order wasn't even toasted and everything aside from the replacement soup was cold. I've been to many Panera Bread Locations and they are pretty consistent. What made this location different was the manager, Monica. At 10pm and even having participated in a 5k that morning, she was as fresh and friendly as if she'd just walked in. Customer service like hers never goes unnoticed and I hope upper management realizes what a gem they have in her. She made a consistent experience exceptional. read more

Ok. So we all know why chain restaurants suck. After hearing about it only dozens of times, we get it. But what about when they don't suck? As far as I'm concerned, total wank aside, I'm a firm believer that any business regardless of being chain, franchise or privately owned, is only as good as the individuals who work there. Take Dunkin Donuts as a fabulous example: in one infamous case over in Warwick, there's a Dunkin in the Stop and Shop, a Dunkin in the parking lot of the Stop and Shop and -another- Dunkin across the street from the Stop and Shop. Despite being a stone's toss away from each other, they severely vary in quality both food and customer service wise. In the case of Panera, I've experienced the good, the bad and the in between at the various locations I've been to. In particular this spot is one of my favourites to eat at: clean and conveniently placed on the same strip where I conduct 80% of my weekend chores, their food is consistently fresh, delicious and made to order. I've never had any issues with customer service or a mixed up order. I absolutely loved it when they made pizza! Yum. Their Asian chicken salad, full of cilantro and citrus goodness has always been one of my favourites: when all else fails, I make a run for that plus a wholesome wheat baguette. Their bakery goods are always great and as far as chains go, slam the hell out of Dunkin Donuts, Honeydew & co. Coffee wise, not so much. Their iced green tea and other sugary concoctions are a happy guilt trip and a half but their bean based drinks are pretty mediocre especially their iced coffee (which is a toss up, at times being a watery mess). On the condiment side, their balsamic vinaigrette is the most delicious dressing like, ever. I'm a huge balsamic fan and man, nothing comes close no matter how many, chain or ma n' pa shops I've tried. I'm always itching to snatch up a bottle to bring home when available. To add, while many of their "healthy" items are chock full of calories and naughty fats, it's simple to kick some of the gunk out. For example, lay low off the spreads and sauce, replace the oily cheese bread, get your dressing on the side and go for more veggies. It's not brain science, peeps. Just good 'ole fashioned substitution. Check out Panera. Arguments aside, it's infinitely times taster, healthier and fresher than McDonalds, Burger King or Wendy's. Wonderful. read more

If you and your friends are feeling indecisive and you want somewhere to eat that is relatively low-key, Panera is great. Like most chains, the place can get rather busy. However, their is free wi-fi and once you find yourself a place to sit, there is no rush to leave. With this in mind, it's a nice place to sit down with friends and catch up without having to worry about waiters interrupting conversation or overstaying your welcome. As far as food is concerned, I would recommend their broccoli and cheddar soup; it's creamy goodness. For lunch or dinner, their Sierra Turkey sandwich is good. Because I go there so often, I have perfected my sandwich and it is the following: Sierra Turkey sandwich on ciabatta bread, pressed/grilled, with chipotle sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Sometimes, you need to get extra sauce on the side. I would recommend the half soup and sandwich combo. If you are going their for breakfast, their bagels are lovely. They also have a nice sun-dried tomato spread that is a good pair with the whole wheat bagel. For beverages, I like to get the chai tea. On a warmer day, the chai iced tea or the green tea are also delicious. If you're feeling indecisive, you can just get a fountain drink and they always have plenty of options: rootbear, brisk, coke, etc. For deserts, they have really good smoothies, cookies, and scones. I personally like the toffee cookies and the cinnamon sugar scones. read more

First of all, most paneras are the same. This one was huge. The set up was a little weird. They do have the order yourself kiosk which we didn't use because there was no line at the time. Food was great. Just what we asked for and the girl at the counter handing it out and taking the pagers was helpful. I got a green tea which I didn't like at all. My home store has wayyyy better green tea. This one was weird. We sat outside and killed some time in the sun before running more apartment errands but it was nice. Beautiful day. This is definitely the worst Panera ever. I've gone twice in the last month or so, and both times were painful. The first time, it took over 10 minutes for the person at the register to figure out how to ring in my flatbread. Then, when I picked it up, it had the wrong kind of meat on it and wasn't toasted. I went back to the pick-up counter, explained the situation to the main guy, and he took the meat off of my sandwich (that had already been on my table), PUT IT BACK IN THE INGREDIENT BIN, slapped a ball of different meat on my sandwich, and sent me away. Ignoring how illegal that is, they're supposed to give you a free treat when they mess up...I didn't get a free treat. Fast forward a few weeks. I order a chicken salad sandwich to go, see that the same guy is working behind the counter, get home, open it, and notice that there's a half of a scoop of chicken salad in the corner of the bread, and a half of a leaf of lettuce and some unripened tomatoes thrown in a pile, all squished lopsidedly between two soggy pieces of bread. I visited this Panera last night, I hadn't been there in a long time, mainly due to trying new places and they always seem crowded at lunchtime, but my friend loves the place and we decided to go there for a quick dinner out. I was sad to see my favorite Panini was no longer on the menu, but it happens and they had some other salads and sandwiches that looked good.. I chose the Pick 2, soup and sandwich combo.. my friend had the new Turkey and Apple sandwich and I tried a bacon and turkey sandwich and we both got the winter squash soup which we tried first and devoured it! It was that good. Next time I go back, I'm just getting the soup! The sandwiches were very good though, the bread on mine was a little too thick for me, but it was perfect for the sandwich and delicious as well.. my friend loved his sandwich and devoured it in about 30 seconds, too fast to ask for a bite or get a picture of it, but anything that's eaten that fast has to be good! We also got the pumpkin shaped sugar cookies as an add on for 99 cents, their cookies are always good and the frosted sugar cookies are my favorite. Even though I make them at home all the time, I have to get a cookie when I visit a Panera. After the soup and salad, I was too full to eat that cookie or the bag of chips that came with my meal.. so I saved the cookie and had it for breakfast. I'll be doing that again too. Its the perfect balance of sugar and sugar to start your day off right, with a sugar high. Add a cappuccino and you've got enough energy to go all day. This is a good thing! The restaurant is always clean and to be honest, I can't even figure out how its always clean, because its always so busy. Parking isn't a problem, the line is always long but the cashiers/order takers whatever you call them are very fast and efficient and knowledgeable about the menu items as well. So the line goes quick and you get your food pretty quick as well, no one rushes you and you clear your own table. In all honesty, its a little overpriced considering you order at a counter and pick up at another counter, get your own drinks, etc.. but the food is good, the drinks are just as good and everyone is friendly.. Its a nice place to get a quick meal while you're out shopping! read more

Needless to say I ended up with the wrong order rendering it usesless to me due to my allergies. I didn't notice the screw up until I got home. Probably has to do with the way they shout your first name and not an order number or order contents. I probably ended up with someone else's order of the same name. They have a nice outside terrace area with umbrellas and chairs and me and my sister (Stripe) like to go their with the guy we own to have what he insists on calling "Beagles and Bagels". I am a die hard panera fan but this particular location has messed up my order so many times. They are always willing to fix it but it is super annoying when you're out to eat with friends and everyone is almost done eating and you are waiting because they messed up on your order. They've messed up my order 3 of the 6 times I've been there but my most recent trip/mess up takes the cake. I ordered mac and cheese with my sandwich. Took a bite of the mac and cheese and there were chunks of frozen sauce in it. Come on panera! How hard is it to not serve some frozen sauce. So for some reason this is the only place my boyfriend knows to suggest whenever we just need dinner or lunch and we both have no idea what we want. I never want to go here. I'm never thrilled to be there. Once I get my food, I eat it and it tastes good, but I'm not jumping for joy over it. I do appreciate that the lettuce in the salads are crispy and fresh and my soup is always and warm in my tummy but, eh. What I really want is the bacon turkey bravo sandwich but I havn't been able to bring myself to order it since they decided to let me know that it's 800 calories. I had been blissfully unaware. Three stars per the earnest effort put forth by the counter staff. However, the management and franchise owner need to stop and examine how they are damaging their reputation. First, this is the lunch rush they have one cashier behind the counter and then another associate encouraging patrons to use the self-ordering system. It is better customer relations to have the two cashiers moving the line efficiently versus one getting bogged down while the other is idle. Just because gas stations have "pay at the pump" does not mean every retailer should. Second, there is a manager right now wiping tables. Again, get on the registers and move the patrons along. Have a bus boy handle that chore. This is during lunch rush and the counter staff and cooks are very efficient and courteous which is laudable. read more
