Typical Panera, you get your fix by drive thru and keep it movin'. I always get the creamy tomato soup and baguette, which is really good any time but I prefer it for a nice light lunch. My daughter's go to meal is the rich and creamy mac and cheese, which may be too rich for some, but she loves it. My wife's favorite is the mediterranean veggie. I really enjoy Panera's food, and the servers are always really pleasent and helpful, but every time I eat in the restaurant I notice the people making the food are being really mean to the other workers. I've seen them yell at other workers, and even throw things multiple times. I really enjoy panera, but every time I go I see something new that makes my dining experience kind of unpleasant. read more

Called in order for a smoothie - was not ready when I showed up ended up waiting like I ordered a full meal. Watched an employee get a few toothpicks from the counter and he dropped one on the floor he picked it up and placed back into the holder with the others. I questioned this with him and he played dumb. The toothpick did not have a wrapper on it so this is disgusting. I reported to the manager they did reimburse me on the smoothie but this is not my first issue with them so I probably will not be going back at the Panera café 3943 for a long time. read more

I love Panera Bread. I worked there for many years when I was younger, so I know the ins and outs of the Panera process. I was so excited to have a Panera in Shreveport - it opened right when I moved into town. However, my excitement waned quickly the more times I go in. It's almost a game, seeing if they'll give me a correct order or not. I once ordered a Bacon Turkey Bravo (my favorite), and received two slices of white bread and one slice of turkey. I asked an employee why they thought this was a Bravo sandwich, and they replied "It's got turkey on it, don't it?". Another time I had a quick break for lunch, and thought Panera would be a quick option. I ordered a bowl of soup (since all they have to do is ladle it in, right?) and sat down. I watched my bowl of soup sit on the counter for 10 minutes before I got up and asked the manager for a refund. I no longer had time to eat there, and I no longer wanted to. Always check your sides - guaranteed those will be wrong. Asked for extra dressing? Prepare to have no dressing on your salad and one to-go container of dressing on top. For to-go orders, check your sides and utensils - they'll be forgotten. Now that I think about it, just check your entire to-go order before you leave because at least one thing will be wrong. Another tip: If you're ever on your way to work and you think that it'd be fun to bring your coworkers bagels - DON'T. You will be late for work, I guarantee it. I went in this morning to get treats for my coworkers, and ended up being 15 minutes late for work because I was waiting for someone to make my frozen drink. It would've been amusing had I not been late, as I was watching them argue over who was going to make it. Overall, the staff are lazy (though there are a few wonderful ones), and the difference between the service and food on a normal day versus when their Regional Manager is there is astounding. read more

I would actually give Panera two stars if I it weren't for the soup and the fact its a healthy option compared to Newks. For a chain sandwich shop, this place is quite overpriced. The tomato soup is awesome. The bread seems hard and too big for the sandwich. The soups are usually good. The sandwichs....not bad, but nothing to write home about. Nope, I ain't doing it. This was our very first visit to a Panera cafe. Small tasteless portions and pricey. I ordered a steak and cheese with extra onions. Where's the beef?? Burned hard bread. 6 slivers of onions. Had them remake since bread was burned. They left off the extra onions, even after myself and cashier reminded them. Wife had soup with mac and cheese. She said the soup was okay, but the mac and cheese was under cooked. Noodles were almost crunchy. I would have thought with those prices, the food would have knocked our socks off. BUT NO! That was a wasted $17.00 for lunch. Highly disappointed. read more

This restaurant is the worst panera bread I've ever eaten at. They do not have the freshest ingredients in town. All of their pastas and soups are warmed up in plastic bags in the microwave. They have overpriced mediocre food that is not worth the wait in line. Last time I ate here I had the turkey chili and ended up with food poisoning for days. I used to eat here in college when it was called St. Louis Bread Co. I do think it has gone downhill. We were so excited when it opened but only went once because it was too salty and yet bland at the same time. The frontega chicken didn't really have anything on it. Do they pre-make their food? $35.00 for a small pasta dish, a small salad, mac and cheese, a half a sandwich, a small bowl of soup, 3 drinks and 3 - .99 cent deserts! I took 2 grand kids to eat there. The sandwich was so bland I could hardly tell what the ingredients were. The pasta dish was icky. The mac and cheese was icky. The salad just so- so. The deserts (two M&M cookies) appeared as if they were purchased at Sam's, and the other "desert" was so hard I threw it away. Will never go here again and the prices for three people with no more than we got are outrageous. read more
