I was frazzled but he was friendly and patient. After I ordered he reminded me to give him my phone number for rewards and came up with 2 ! After giving me my discount he helped me pick out a desert! I never leave reviews, but I was really upset by my experience tonight. I got in the drive thru at around 7:30pm and waited almost 30 minutes to receive my order. When I move a little forward from the window to check my order (which I admit was my mistake, I should have checked before even moving) my name was on the bag, but the order was completely different. I would have taken the L and left, but it was a BLT sandwich and I cannot eat pork. I went back in line and had to wait another 20 mins to get the correct order. I had to return the incorrect order and wasn't given a sweet treat for the inconvenience or anything. Which I remember they used to do before, do they not do it anymore? When I got home and opened my sandwich, my frontega chicken sandwich was missing basil and was really dry, like there wasn't any of the chipote sauce in it. I ordered a hot chocolate taste horrible like water with no flavor. They're very kind and try to remake it still taste pretty bad. I would not recommend ordering it. I did have a muffin. Several times I have shown workers the very little chicken they add to my sandwich and ask for more and they rightfully give me an extra portion because they know how insane it is! I love coming to this Panera. Everyone is always super nice and if the manager is working the pick up window, they are on it and go above and beyond before they send you off. They always get my food orders right and if there's something off they quickly fix it without push back. I do agree with the bread comments on reviews, it is a bit too hard to enjoy. I just eat the inside. But still, a lot healthier than pizza or other fast food restaurants nearby. And it's always super clean and organized when I wait for my orders. Overall great spot. Went this morning and I gotta say I had another awesome experience! They really go above and beyond at this location. I had 2 orders but I put the second in kind of late. I got my first order and went to my car. I headed in to get the second order and the young lady was headed to the door with my bag. Panera Bread seems to keep getting stingier than all get out with their servings. A few years ago, the one in Pico Rivera used to pack the mac and cheese in a large container to the brim with the lid nearly about to pop off. Later they started leaving like an inch below the brim unfilled. Next location! So then... Downey Panera Bread did the same damn thing. Now it's South Gate. A large mac and cheese is $8.89. It comes with a side and our daughter almost always wants an apple. Even the apple is on the tiny side. The strawberry poppyseed salad with chicken ($11.19 for a whole size) was good and fresh, but that fat-free poppyseed dressing was not my cup of tea at all. I had some Litehouse Homestyle Ranch Dressing to make it more interesting. During COVID-19 quarantine, the app is very useful for curbside takeout. We were both excited to try for the first time these delicious sandwiches that we were so excited to try from Panera. Boy was I wrong it was about 1 hour before closing time and as we were walking to the entrance the ladies shut the doors right in-front of our face and said "sorry we're closed. Panera in South Gate, you could definitely do a better job in protecting your workers for unsafe work practices. Shift manager instructed worker to climb up an a ladder and clean the elevated areas in the "kitchen" area. Worker had one foot on the ladder, and his second foot on the counter where food was being prepared. Before any one thinks that I'm being petty about safety, how about food safety? Is going above and beyond to ensure that your food is clean and safe to eat considered pettiness? Safe work practices include food safety, workers at this Panera cut corners performing unsafe work, the cutting of corners also includes the food hygiene, food cleanliness, and the safe handling of your foods. I haven't been inside a Panera since those junior college years! Panera has really stepped up their game. Their menu has been revamped to offer soups, salads, and sandwiches made with fresh, wholesome ingredients. After a few indecisive minutes, I steeled on the 'Pick 2' deal. I ordered the chipotle chicken melt and the spicy Thai salad with a side of baguette. The salad was just the right amount of spicy with a crunchy crouton kick. The sandwich was also bomb, with lots of gooey cheese! There is plentiful parking in the shopping plaza and when I arrived around noon on a Friday and there was no line and food was quickly prepared. Definitely, I dont recommend this Panera Bread. I order through Drive-Tru after a long day at work. The night staff gave me the wrong soup and size cup, and I paid for it! I ordered the chicken wild rice in a bowl. They gave me chicken noodle soup in a cup. They don't repeat the order after you, so you don't know if they got it right. As soon as I noticed that Panera Bread opened, I knew I had to have the guys try it out. So, I ordered bunch of bagels for them. I placed the order online at 6 AM and picked up at the store at 6:30 AM. Pros: The person helping me at the take out counter was very helpful and friendly. Excellent packaging on the bagel, cream cheese spreads, etc. Very good value for the meal. Half the price of a Deluxe breakfast, and a much healthier option. First time i came at 6am for a dozen bagels i was informed they were out because of a large online order. It sucked because i was staring at baskets full of bagels in front of me. I learned my lesson and ordered online for next day pick up. They forgot to slice the bagels, they forgot two tubes of cream cheese (only packed one), and they forgot two out of the six ordered pastries! I thought maybe I grabbed the wrong order but they really just forgot all those things. I'm fortunate to have ordered for pick up and not delivery or else I would have been SOL. This Panera like all other major chain restaurants in South Gate fall under the golden rule which is "just eat in another city". Every time I've come here it's always the same story. Rude customer service by late teen to early twenty year old children who seem to blame you for the fact that they work there. They are ALWAYS out of multiple items no matter the time of day. Meals that you get are horribly prepared and often missing ingredients. The most recent and last trip I ordered a chipotle avacado chicken sandwich which they prepared with no avocado, no chipotle and on different type of bread... guess they didn't think it important to tell me this but hey what do they care it's not their sandwich or money. They also often close early or open late. It's like there is no one supervising this place at all on any level. This place is awful, terrible, the absolute worst all the way around from top to bottom. Even with gas prices as they are I'd still spend the time and gas to drive somewhere else. read more

My go to Panera! The staff is always friendly and the iced coffee is great customized haha. I only go for coffee but once I got the pizza and it was delicious. I ate all of it. I love the staff here but the salads are always bad. I come here pretty often and my salads are often wilted with old lettuce (look at pic posted). Sometimes they don't even give me the salad dressing that's supposed to go with the salad. The flatbread pizzas are hardly ever fresh. I like how they put sourdough bread bites separately. My son got the flatbread pepperoni pizza which was hittin y'all. It was cooked to perfection. It was oozing cheese and marinara sauce!
