Cook staff was great, person that took my order was great. I wasn't impressed with the manager I talked to regarding a catering order. I wanted to confirm my catering order for the next day. She was there around 2:30 - 3:00 pm on 1/30/20. She was eating another restaurants food at the counter in the middle and looked like I had bothered her when the we asked for some help. Men's restroom didn't have any paper towels and for a new store seemed there was a little bit of disarray. Maybe they opened too quickly. If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. I work two jobs and I am not complaining in fact after working a 16 hour shift I was really excited to go pick up some food at my local Panera but today was not it. I've been to many different locations and never been let down but tonight, I was. The men's restroom was filthy; sink was out of order, and the staff seemed so much more worried about finishing cleaning than they were to take my order at the point of sale. I am sorry to say this but I am so disappointed when given my food, my Mac n cheese was cold, when I say cold I mean like they just took it out of the fridge cold. My wife was upset so she asked if they could warm it up and they pointed her to a microwave under the counter to do it herself. We ate the food and were trying to enjoy our night as we work a lot and don't have time for sit down dinners and while we were finishing they turned off all the indoor lights. No hesitation, no warning or anything. We noticed when we checked the clock that it was 9:12 pm so a little after closing but no warning or letting the guests finish is ridiculously rude. As we were walking out the manager on duty (Shawna, while we asked another employee) laughed at us while walking out. No apology or any respect. I seriously don't understand the appeal of this place. Yet everywhere I see a Panera Bread - its packed! This placed was busting at the seems with customers. We stopped on our way to Columbia, SC, since it was right off the interstate and were all in the mood for a sandwich. Overpriced crap sandwiches. The bag of chips were good? While the food is ok, we have had our last 3 to go orders be short a meal which has resulted in a return trip. The staff is apologetic and tosses in a cookie for our troubles, but they need to check more carefully. read more

My Wife wanted to go to Panera Bread at Hillcrest Mother's Day Morning. This Review is about this Particular Visit only. We ordered very simply: 2 Asiago Cheese Bagels (Toasted), Plain Cream Cheese, and Coffee. When our Buzzer went off, I walked up to pick up our order. When I put it on the Table, My Wife said: "The Bagels aren't toasted and this is the wrong type Cream Cheese". I took it back to the Older Man and told him VERY NICELY I had either Picked Up the Wrong Plates or someone had made a mistake on our order. He asked what was wrong and I explained. He turned toward another guy and said "Toast these REALLY WELL"! I said immediately - We don't want them Burned - Just Toasted. Guess what? They obviously Burned them intentionally! I began getting perturbed but other Patrons were waiting in line so I took them to our table. My wife said - "Don't worry. I can scrape off the Burned Part". WTH? Of ALL the Places I could have taken My wife for Mother's Day Breakfast and she chooses this Place - Only to get sorry Food AND Service? She likes Panera Bread and is willing to go back. I could not care less if I ever go there again! This was ALL what appeared to be the Manager's Fault that Day as He was giving Orders to others. Thankfully Mother's Day Dinner the Night before and that Night were excellent - and obviously at other Restaurants! This place reminds me of a Starbucks. However, I feel they have a better selection of food. They offer coffee and other drinks. In addition, they have pastries and serve lunch items. I went in on a sweets run. I ordered the pecan roll, the personal pineapple upside down cake, the chocolate-walnut cookie, and the shortbread cookie. I only tasted the pecan roll and the choco cookie. They were both really good. I was able to walk out paying eight bucks and change. Not bad. I enjoyed this place. read more

Great experience eating at this Panera Bread yesterday. The cashier was patient, the food came quickly and was fresh and appetizing, and the manager was gracious, present(!), and attentive. He must have an excellent handle on his employees because they serve efficiently and with a smile.The extra long layout of this restaurant, with a glass wall running the entire length, makes this a cheerful, more intimate atmosphere. So far this is my favorite Panera Bread, and I have visited them throughout the United States. read more

Horrible! Restaurant was dirty and the staff acted like children. Customer asked for a sample of chili and the cook actually told this person no. Bathrooms were disgusting and not stocked. At the counter to get my things the two plates left did not look like what we had ordered. So I said "I don't think these are mine" and the staff member replied "it's what you ordered" in a hateful voice. Customer service goes a long way! I will never be back to this location. read more

Oh, I usually love Panera. This Panera is the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been in. The tables had not been wiped off at all. Food in the floor, and a hair hanging off one of the tea pulls. I went to Panera because I thought it would be great to have soup and salad on a cold day. Well I used the self order and ordered a pick two: salad and soup. When I got the soup, it was the smallest cup of soup I have ever seen for $4 and my salad had everything I asked to not be on it on it and then the extras didn't have the normal amount. I am extremely disappointed. They weren't even busy to where it could have possibly been over looked. I'm a regular customer and I work in the food business. I will not be back. read more

Very nice Panera location with lots of inside and outside seating. One complaint is that ladies' restroom needs attention from maintenance. Toilets seats are loose, and the trash can and sanitary receptacles are dirty. They really need to step up their game on Sunday mornings. They have lots of customers, but the coffee is often depleted and they are out of bagels by 11:00 a.m. I don't understand why they don't refill the coffee before the rush, and prepare more bagels. This is a great location for extended hours - there is a movie theater which shares a parking lot. Teenagers can safely walk over before or after their movie for a bite to eat. Parents can drop them off and they can enjoy movie/dinner and then get picked up. Maybe consider offering a 10% discount to anyone who can show a ticket from the theater. read more

Ordered at the front, nice cashier, friendly service there... went to go pick up my food and it was wrong. I told the people making food and she rolled her eyes at me, made some rude comments. Tables were not clean and floor had not been cleaned. Food was ok but just disappointed in the cleanliness.

The food is good. Not great. Our experiences vary from very good to disappointed. Sometimes you can't find a clean table to sit at and sometimes the food can be dry and not ample portions. Generally we like it and the pastries are never disappointing. They removed one of my favorite menu items, the Big Kid Grilled Cheese. Don't get the grilled cheese on the menu now, it is awful. How does a restaurant serve a grilled cheese that has no butter on the bread. I think they are going too far with the healthy thing. Yes we need to eat healthier but food must have some taste. They have removed too much flavor trying to be healthy I guess. Just don't think this is a good strategy. read more

I go to the Panera on East Main St all the time, since its about 2 seconds from my house. I also do the Rapid Pick-Up a lot which is such a great idea. I want to give more stars, but I have to say, if you offer something to your customers, don't you want it to be completely sufficient and worth their while?? Out of maybe 8 times of doing "Rapid Pickup" over 4 times Ive had to wait 5-10 min or MORE past the time stated on the websites "10 minutes or less" rule. I mean whats in a name RAPID if it isn't. Also, you can modify things on the page, I do sometimes. I took off chicken for a salad and added avocado, the rest wanting the same, and it came back with literally HALF the ingredients of the salad that should have been on there. Please don't charge me $2 more if you can't even make the salad right. Disappointed. read more

This place is entirely too expensive for what you're getting. The food is always dry and stiff and boring. The staff isn't friendly. You can go across the street to Wendy's and have a better time. Dirty. Poor service. When you walk in the door, don't look to the left, or you will be grossed out at the filthy used dishes and trash drop off area. Then skip the kiosk, it's more trouble than its worth. No numbers on the pagers makes it useless. Paid for large drinks, and there were no large cold drink cups at the kiosk. Ordered a Green Goddess salad...but oops! No Green Godess dressing. Just dry salad. Had to go back to cashier, wait for her to finish her conversation with another employee to get some dressing. Actually, after making a mess trying to mix the dressing into the salad as the photo had shown it plated, it tasted good. But not worth the trip or the money.The cookie display was also dirty, looked like the cookies and their signs had been there since the beginning of the location. I usually cannot resist a cookie. This time it wasn't appetizing at all. . Went to fill my regular size drink cup, that I had over paid for, and the drink station was dirty and trashed. Can I just say Panera Bread usually does better, in different locations. Skip this one and enjoy somewhere else in Spartanburg. read more
