Unfortunately I had a very bad experience here tonight, I must say, it is a first. We normally dine in or pick up at least once a week. Tonight was again pick up. I ordered my usual, (Roasted Turkey & Avocado BLT), I get it on toasted ciabatta bread with mozzarella. I order it this way because they do offer different options on a sandwich for A little extra $. They put a sticker on your sandwich and check off Modified. It started with the Team Leader questioning everything I asked for, (I never had this problem before). He was very rude, I could tell by his tone he didn't want to be there. I should of checked my order before leaving, of course I didn't, as everyone knows this type of sandwiches get cold quickly. When I got home and opened my sandwich It had no mozzarella cheese and it was not toasted. Very disappointing. I could of called or perhaps gone back but I just did not want to deal with the rude employee again. read more

My sandwich came with chicken about the size of... well, I can't think of a size because it was so small... not too small like a quarter but not small like a meatball either- in between. So, uh, I kinda live here. Ok, to clarify I have a job that allows me to work wherever I want. Anywhere I can get online (read: anywhere) I can work so to avoid becoming a shut-in and talking to the walls I try and get out of the house as much as possible during the fall and winter. And it just so happens that this Panera is ideally located near by house as well as close to other distractions like Target. So a few days out of the week you'll find me here for a good chunk of hours, happily working away and bobbing my head to my tunes. Compared to other Paneras, this one is fantastic. It's big and there are plenty of tables and booths to sidle up to and sit for a spell. Every few spots there is an outlet so I'm never without power and there's so much room that I've rarely run into a case of not being able to find a seat. The free wifi is rarely slow or broken and the layout is such that I can get up to grab some more soda or order food without being out of line of sight with my laptop for any appreciable amount of time. Was a regular customer at this Panera. Came in at 11:03 am and asked for a breakfast sandwich..........they stop serving breakfast promptly at 11:00 no matter I was three minutes late. So Panera, you've lost a previously loyal customer. You will lose about $40.00 a month. read more

I love Panera but I hate the service in this location. Today April 1, my wife passed by drive-thru and requested for mac-n-cheese and apple juice for my 2-year old daughter. She also bought a dozen bagels, cream cheese and coffee. After getting back home, 15 minutes away, we found that instead of an apple juice we got... an apple. My wife called the store to complain and the store manager told my wife to come back for the apple juice. But we can't because we live 15 minutes away. Very annoying. Their process is clearly broken and the store manager should look into this. read more

This is your better Panera. I will bypass Woodfield, Schaumburg and Hoff Estates to go to this location. They are better with food prep. Better service and very clean. They also have the drive through. Bakery goods here seem fresher than the other locations. Turkey Artichoke is my fave and the fresh fruit tarts are back for summer. I ordered in the drive thru and when I got home I noticed there was a piece of paper in my soup. I immediately called and spoke to the manager on duty and told him what happened. He apologized and asked me to come right in to get a new soup. Once i got there he apologized again and asked me if i wanted anything from the bakery. He then gave me a bread bowl and some extra bread as well. He was very nice and all the little extras wasn't necessary but was extremely nice of him to do. Went thru the drive-thru today, employee answered asking can I help you while giggling in the background with other employees. As I was telling them my order they continued to break out into laughter forcing me to repeat my order. As I was repeating it they continued to laugh. At that point I got frustrated and decided to drive away. Very unprofessional considering it is lunch time and people have somewhere to be. The quality of the food at Panera has become very disappointing. We ordered to take home. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Bravo/green goddess pick two combo. They were out of the normal bread that comes with the sandwich and offered to substitute sourdough, which wasn't a problem. When I got home and opened the sandwich I was disappointed at the quality and quantity of the turkey and sparse bacon and the bread was nowhere near fresh baked. I felt I could have made a better sandwich at home. The salad was good but the really skimped on the amount of dressing they give you, it amounted to a tablespoon of dressing. My dining partner ordered one of their new chicken sandwiches and was equally disappointed, she took one look at it and said this isn't an $11 chicken sandwich. The quality of their food used to be much higher to justify their higher cost than other fast food places. We will not be returning to Panera, there are much better options for a sandwich and the chicken sandwich at Popeyes was far better at a lower cost. The cost of a dinner at Panera is nowhere near the quality I expected. Do yourself a favor and make a better sandwich at home. read more

$13.73 for a You Pick 2 - half of a grilled cheese sandwich (which had 1 slice of cheese on it) and a small mac & cheese which was not enough for my 6 year old granddaughter to eat and a bubbler drink. Prices are highly ridiculous. You order yourself, pick up at the counter yourself and clean up your dishes and tray yourself and now they ask you if you want to tip - tip who? - you do all the work except cook the food. read more

In general, Panera provides good food, good amosphere and free wi-fi at a fairly affordable price point. This was my first visit to this Panera and I have to say the staff was wonderful and courteous. My youngest and I ate a nice breakfast and killed some time while my oldest toiled away down the road taking the SAT. I think we got the better deal! I had a tasty blue berry bagle while my little guy had a smoothie and a chocolate chip muffin top. All good and fresh. read more

Always sold out of soufle before breakfast hours are over. Management does not understand supply and demand, if you always have the mushroom one and artichoke one available but are always sold out of the 2 more popular ones, maybe you should adjust what should be your priority to stock. If you can't handle supply and demand consistently as a "fast food" type of business, you fail. Worst panera experience we have ever had. We are regulars and love the chain. However, we stopped in for a late dinner on our to family' house in Streamwood. Did take out - 3 salads. My classic salad was less than half full and missing cucumber and onions. We ordered, and were charged for a salmon Caesar salad & it came with no salmon. We had a baby in the car and did not have time to complain. Will not return to this location. read more

Definitely one of the best Paneras I have ever been to. It is only improved by the fact that they just added a drive-thru! In fact, I just used said drive-thru for the first time last night. It was fast, efficient, and I didn't have to drag the kids out of the car on a cold, rainy, October night. I was really excited about being able to stay in the warmth of my car (now if only I could get them to deliver!!) They rarely get my order wrong at this location, but if they do, they make every effort to make it right. There is always ample seating, and I love the "cozy" feel of Panera. Their breakfast is really good (some items like the bagels and pastries are available all day). And their lunch is really great, too. The only think I don't like is that they changed their chicken noodle soup. The fat noodles were my favorite, but now the soup as a whole isn't as delicious. But that isn't THIS location's fault, just Panera as a whole! Love this location, and I know I will be back early and often! read more

I went to Panera in Streamwood to get a you pick two napa almond chicken salad and black bean soup with feta cheese. The whole time I was ordering the girl on the line who gave me my soup was laughing. The napa chicken salad sandwhich was made a complete mess and was watery. Mike the cashier gave me a free iced tea at the register so I didn't want to make that into a big issue or anything. When I got to the car I checked my food to make sure I got my order correct I noticed the cap to my soup was not secured properly and the soup had already spilled all over the inside of the bag and spilled all over me. I went home, took my shirt that was full of soup off, ate my food, and then called Panera to explain what happened. I explained that I ate my food and was full and satisfied (trying not to be a difficult customer) I informed them that the cap to the soup was not put on properly and they should really be more careful with soup but I don't need a voucher or anything I just wanted to let them know what happened. The assistant manager Jeff asked me if I would like to come in for another soup so right before they closed I came to pick up my soup. Sounds easy enough right? Wrong. I go up to the girl at the line with brown hair and big eyebrows (Jeff later told me her name is Alyssa) and told her Jeff said I can come in and get another soup. She told me that she gave me the right soup the black bean soup and I'm just like what are you talking about... She told me she knows she gave me the right soup and I tell her yes, but you didn't put the top on right and it spilled all over the inside of the bag and all over me and I only ate half of it. She said "oh I'm sorry that that happened to you are you okay" in an extremely fake tone of voice. I told her that I was because I was wearing long sleeves but that it got all over me, my clothes, and the bag. "She's like well I'm really sorry that happened to you" while she's smiling it was so condescending. A girl next to her gave me a black bean soup. I just ate black bean soup, why would I want another one? I told them idw black bean I want creamy tomato. They said no problem and just tried to hand me the soup. I asked if they could put it in a bag with bread and they told me they threw out all the bread already, I told them that's fine just put it in a bag and give me some croutons. She gave me cup with three or four croutons in a whole soup cup so I asked for more crouton and she gave me a soup cup full to the top with croutons. What is this girls issue and why is she treating me so disrespectfully and rude? It's like I was pulling teeth, just give me my soup and I'll leave it's not difficult. I asked her why she's being rude and asking me 99 questions just give me my soup. I told her to just do her job right and everything will be okay. The other short heavy set Hispanic girl (no name) next to her on the line yelled at me that she is doing her job right. I told her if she was doing her job right they would have given me the soup in a bag, with croutons to begin with, not just 3 or 4 of them and make it out to be such a big deal to give me soup properly. To be honest if Alyssa was doing her job right I wouldn't have had to be there in the first place or have to wash my shirt covered in black bean soup. It still wasn't a big deal (I'm an easy going laid back person) until Alyssa made it out to be a big deal. Once crossed I get sassy so I told her "'I'm sorry you're mad that you only make $10.00 an hour but that's not my problem babe. The assistant manager Jeff, instead of reprimanding the employee asked me to leave. I started crying and he asked me not to make a scene and leave. It's unbelievable, unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. I'm a paying customer and all I wanted to do was get my soup and sandwhich and instead I ended up in tears. The girl had me answer 99 questions, wasn't bothered in the slightest that hot soup spilled on me and I could have been injured and was rude to me while I was the victim just trying to come pick up what was offered to me. They should have offered me a free cookie or pastry or something and instead they asked me to leave the store (assistant manager Jeff) I will be going to talk to whomever manager is there in the morning and will be talking to the general manager Jerry. Hopefully there is resolution, the girl Alyssa needs to be seriously reprimanded and realize what she did is wrong. I hope Alyssa is her real name I will find out who it was from a manager above Jeff tomorrow. If it wasn't her name I will comment and update you all should be careful of that line worker at this location. read more

Usually Panera stores are consistent from one to the next but today I had the WORST experience in your Streamwood, Illinois location. I stopped in about 9am to get something for breakfast and a salad for my lunch. Got my breakfast food, then went to stand and wait for my salad and a mocha. The salad was made and handed to me but no coffee. I asked about that and was told "she is making it". There was no 'she' in front of the coffee machine. Next thing I know, 5 different coffee orders come out but not mine. I ask about it and am told "there isn't a mocha order". Guess what, it was on my receipt! One of the managers was standing there and told the girl "make it". Asked how I was going to be compensated and the manager just walked to the back. She did come out and gave me a $5 coupon to use later. Great, find that is rectified but I am over my allotted time. Now it is noon and I get my salad out. There is no dressing AT ALL on this salad. It is one of the driest salads I have ever gotten from a Panera. I will be stopping back into this location on my way home tonight, but not to make a purchase. I have NEVER had a good experience at this Panera. My order is wrong every time I visit. Sometimes a completely wrong sandwich, most times they cannot handle a special request such as no onions. I complain and the Manager gives me free coupons. It has gotten so bad that I refuse the coupons because I don't want to go there ever again. They are also often out of certain items (bread bowls or a specific type of bread). I MUCH prefer the Panera on Schaumburg Rd (east of Barrington); they always get my order correct. read more

Admittedly, I get to a lot of places since I work in the field and Panera is a mainstay when I can't find local places with wifi. This one is a definite cut above the rest. 1) They know how to move people. Lines at this place are almost non-existent, regardless of how many people are in there. If a line forms, within 2 or 3 minutes, it's gone. (The stores at Diversey in Chicago, and on Golf in Skokie -- take note!!!) 2) The staff are ALL models for customer service. Roger is among the best and I suspect management bound. 3) The place is always clean. 4) The beverage bars are always fully stocked and staff check the half-and-half and other items constantly as they walk around. I was in there yesterday and it seemed like one employee was checking the bars every 5 or 10 minutes. 5) Food is often up before I even have a chance to get my coat off and laptop set up at the table. (How inconvenient is THAT!!!! lol) 6) The manager is frequently on the floor and is integrated into every task in the store --- clearing tables, checking beverage bars, working the register --- you name it! I arrived before opening time but was greeted with smiling faces eager to help. Stopped in to pick up something for a work function and my eye went right for the cupcakes. After making my selection and ready to leave I had to turn back and get a carrot cake muffin just for me and stash it aside. i am glad I did because it was scrump-delicious. I love there coffee drinks (frozen caramel) I like to get a 20oz when I get it (large) and more than half the time the cashiers dont understand when I say a large. (Comes as 16oz) i understand its a extra charge and im willing to pay for it. I used to work at a panera(my first job) and I know its possible I did it daily for people. Every Friday my Bosses get breakfast sandwiches. I never get sick of them. They are very yummy. As well as other foods. Not happy with how much prices raised though since I used to work there. ( in 2007) I understand its not a fast food or causal restaurant. Its in the middle. Doesn't mean you need to charge like a higher end causal restaurant. read more

Absolutely fresh and delicious food. I don't understand why people don't give 5 stars, when the food is extraordinary, organic and fresh. That's what we have been looking for. Food is very good, service is fair. Like all Panera the food is great, no variation that I have found. Service wise this one seems a bit lower than usual, just sort of that annoying lack of eye contact/connection that I like to have with people. Lackadaisical service. But of a turnoff for me.
