This Panera location always seems busy and a bit out of order. The dining area tables are wobbly and are typically occupied by teens and tutors. The staff seems to get along well as they have personal conversations and giggles as they work to fulfill the orders. Glad to see them smiling rather than drudge through their day. This location could earn more stars if they repaired things and swept up a bit more often. The location has a steady flow of customers which might account for the messy floors and tables. My wife and I walked into the restaurant at 10:28, waited for someone to take our order with only one person ahead of us and four people behind the register. Finally when someone helped us I ordered a breakfast sandwich and the woman yells out to her manager, "is breakfast over!" Knowing we were there before 10:30. Panera is my first option for lunch. Everything is freshly made. I love their paninis & soups. They have a very good check in system where in you enter inside & on computer you enter your name. Then server will call you at the counter. You place your order & you will be given a token. When that token blinks it means your order is ready. You can collect your order at the counter. Food came out good. My panini was great. Freshly made with fresh ingredients. And the tomato basil soup was very flavorful. For water or soda they have a machine you can go take it yourselves. They have lot of dessert options as you can see in the picture. I didn't try any of that but I have heard good things about their croissants. Will try next time. Restrooms are clean. I had to stop for coffee on the way back home to Orlando, so this was the closest Panera. I had to circle around to find it, but I eventually found it on the corner. What happened to Panera? They have upped their game. What a noticeable improvement to their menu, ingredients, customer service, and dining areas. No more preservatives and an improved, healthier menu can be found at Panera. My favorite is the Mediterranean chicken salad with kale and sun-dried tomatoes. It's full of tasty and fresh ingredients with a light dressing. Their broccoli cheddar soup is another favorite of mine. Not so healthy but the macaroni and cheese is worth indulging in with those soft shells in a bath of creamy white cheese. Kids meals come with apple, yogurt or chips. Avoid the grilled cheese. I always try to be realistic about my expectations when thinking about restaurant service. I don't expect the same out of a Taco Bell or Applebees as I would expect from a Charlie's or a Ruth's Chris. But, damn, Panera, let's get it together. Made my order and paid no issues.... Uh, hold on just a minute there buddy, you're not getting out of this that easy. The cashier drops the change everywhere. I mean everywhere. She even got some of it in the childhood hunger donation box posted at the cash register next to her. Then she took and interesting approach using empathy Instead of apology. She looked at me concerned and told me "it's ok" and that it's ok to take my time picking it up. I sit down and the buzzer goes off which brings me to the counter for pickup. My order of one bowl of chicken noodle soup was deemed far too meager by the staff behind the line so they decided to upgrade me to Broccoli Cheddar and some other items of unknown origin. When I asked to it to be corrected, I was given only a look and no words. She must have been so distracted by the outrage she had for my lack of gratitude for her upgrade that she shorted my new soup by at least a half portion. I noted it and that was met with the same silent glance. It's the quiet ones you have to be careful about. Ok, it's just Panera, right? Maybe they have just emerged from a brutal Tuesday lunch battle and I'm just the guy who shows up to bayonet the wounded. Have a heart guy, you don't know what it's like to serve that many bread bowls. So, I leave my disappointment in the basket along with my buzzer. I'll simply eat my half portion of soup and get some work done. Nope. I fire up the laptop and spend the next 25 minutes trying to connect to the WiFi. Each time using up time and battery life to be redirected to the franchisee's web page only to drop connection when I attempt to move on to what I need to do. So here I sit, writing a passive aggressive Yelp review using the WiFi from the Great Clips next door. This review is simply for the customer service I experienced today at Panera on S Howard. I popped while my husband was next door getting a haircut. I was pushing our 5 month old in a stroller and when I went to pay i stuttered over my words with ridiculous brain fog probably from the lack of sleep from being a new parent with a teething baby. Lydia was so incredibly kind to me and on my way out before I left she asked how I was. Genuinely. I cannot say how much that made my week. It's really hard to have a baby, ever, but this past year having a baby for the first time in quarantine with no help has been brutal. Her simple kind inquiry made me feel seen. This morning I tried Panera's new Rapid Pickup online ordering option. It's super simple and easy to navigate from your phone, tablet or computer. There is even an app that you can download to help with ease of ordering. You can link your MyPanera rewards card by signing in with your phone number/username and password so you get credit for your order. I was able to select the store and was shown menu items that were offered there. Next, I was able to select each menu item and customize it to my liking, omitting or able to add-on items, if they aren't vegetables there is usually a nominal charge of $1 for extra meat or egg whites or $.50 for select kinds of cheese, all of which the extra charges are specified on the itemized ingredient list. I really liked this aspect and was able to remove cheese or get light cheese on food items that were ordered as well as load them up with vegetables or comparable spreads (if you wanted to substitute something else on there). You can use a credit card payment, redeem a MyPanera rewards, enter a promo code, or use a gift card for payment-so easy! Upon arriving my Rapid Pickup order was ready and on a shelf to the left of the front of the store with my receipt taped on the outside of the bag. Quick and easy, I was able to grab it and go. Rapid Pickup is aptly named and I appreciate the ease of ordering. Thanks Panera for coming up with an easy and efficient method to get food fast. read more

This location has limited parking as most of the spaces are usually taken. Inside is a standard layout and you can usually find students hanging out. I find the staff generally friendly. When there today (around 10:30am), someone was cleaning the dining area and refilling the coffee urns. This was a good thing as the hot water urn was labeled "6am" and was lukewarm. I asked the manager for hot water which was cheerfully provided. The new recipe for the whole grain bagels leaves a lot to be desired. The bagels are now made with spelt which I find dense and tasteless. I really liked the old recipe and will not be ordering whole grain bagels in the future. read more

My experience today was average for Panera. The service wasn't great. The lady taking our order (who appeared to be the manager) wasn't very friendly and we never heard them call our name so our food sat for a little while before we realized. It's all good. Pastries: That chocolate croissant pastry is and always has been one of my favorite sweets. The cinnamon rolls are gigantic, soft and sweet. Soups: Mmm. Every visit..Homeless (non-customers that appears to sleep in cloths) sitting at outside tables , wont see me using a outside table to eat or drink...Sanitary issue ... Large spray painted graffiti on wall not being cleaned And what was last straw...what appears to be human droppings in parking lot and by building. Left uncleaned up ... Panera is one of my spots for fast and easy food during times that I don't have the time or patience for sit down dinner and lunches. While in college they basically fed me half of the time! There is a large selection of tasty salads, soups, sandwiches and other sides. I really like their French onion soup and their cheddar broccoli is among the most loved by customers. Fuji apple chicken salad is great with a nice balance of sweet & tangy dressing. Panini & sandwiches are made with fresh baked breads in house every day. They also have delicious bagels, breakfast sandwiches and quiche for early risers. They also offer a nice variety of baked goods for your sweet tooth.
