This is a standard, clean Panera Bread with a drive-through within short walking distance to the Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple. They have an app that allows you to quickly pick up food or order from a table without having to stop at the register. As usual for their chain, their bagels are mediocre and other bakery items aren't great, but their entrees are actually surprisingly good (especially their soups and salads). I loved Panera Breads in Oklahoma so I was ecstatic when they came to Temple. Unfortunately this location leaves a lot to be desired. The portion sizes get smaller and the quality of food get worse every time I go there. They are usually out of at least one item I want to order, and regularly give one piece of bread for two menu items, or no bread at all. One time I got a Watermelon Feta Salad near closing time, only to get home and find no feta. Maybe the inside service is better than the drive through, but I'm wary to find out. read more

Twice my coworker has gone here for breakfast, once inside and once through the drive-thru and has gotten completely wrong cream cheese for her bagels. The first time she wanted 2 french onion cream cheese and only got 1 right and the other was plain and the second time she wanted the same 2 types of cream cheese and got a vegetable medley and regular butter. It's not that big of a deal but how hard is it to correctly take and order and read over what you are giving the customer?! They've been open a good while now. Still having issues with order accuracy. We ordered from the touchscreen and my wife wanted the pumpkin cookie which they upsold us on as a recommendation. Well if you recommend something shouldn't it actually he available? And if I order a bread bowl, there should be soup served inside bread not a ceramic bowl. Food temp was not the greatest, taste was pretty decent. Employee energy and service was sub-par. One sandwich was missing the pickle spear. Manager seemed frustrated about order inaccuracy and should direct his annoyance at direct reports and not make guests feel as if it's their fault with the grumpy faces and heavy breathing. Very disappointed! I ordered the Pick 2: Half a turkey BLT with avocado and the squash soup. The squash soup was OK but not awesome. The turkey BLT with avocado was a super disappointment. I paid six dollars for a sandwich about 2 to 3 inches in diameter. Paying six dollars for a sandwich, I would think I would get a lot of meat and avocado, however, that did not happen. Total rip off! The Panera bread brand is supposed to be a superb and healthy food, however, this location does not put a positive light on the Panera bread brand. I will not return to this location. During the last 10 years, I've lived in 5 States and this Panera is by far the worst managed location I've ever encountered. They're always out of something. The staff is completely clueless about their menu and aside from bringing your food to the table, they pretty much don't do anything else. Tables are dirty and floor is always disgusting. I am aware that it is hard to keep up with dirty patrons during peak hours, but this goes beyond that. The way I see it, it is complete neglect. Ordered at the drive-thru a Pick 2 with a salad and Turkey Avocado BLT. Once I got home I discovered I had received a Tuna Sandwich instead of Turkey (gross!). I called the store and spoke with the manager, Justin. I said I would be back in the area in a few hours and asked to have my ordered correct. I would bring the sandwich and receipt. I returned to the store (drive-thru again so I didnt have to get my kids out of the car) explain to the employee what I was missing AND ordered a meal for my husband. Once I got home I discovered my sandwich was wrong AGAIN! No avocado, incorrect bread, no mayo (some weird spicy sauce or something) and incorrect cheese. So much was wrong I'll have summarize. The wait to order was too long and the management left one cashier to handle the lunch rush. Ordered soup and salad and they never delivered my food due to a mix up. When the food finally arrived 20 minutes later after inquiring about the wait, soup was luke warm but salad was good. My wife and I were excited about getting a Panera Bread in Temple, and we couldn't wait until it opened. Unfortunately, it has not lived up to expectations. The food is good. I have no complaints about that. Also, the location is great, and the workers are friendly. Last, I love that they accept Apple Pay. That's a huge plus in my book. However, I ordered twice, and, in both occasions, they couldn't get my orders correct. I ordered via the Internet for a pick-up order. Both times the order left out a key item. In the first order, my wife's salad was missing. In the second order, my sandwich was missing. I understand if a bag of chips or a fruit cup is missing, but a salad or sandwich is a major item. While I enjoy the food and technology, the staff needs to focus on the basics: getting the order correct. I think I will wait until service improves before I visit again. read more

My online pick up order is NEVER waiting at the time i set. Twice they admitted "they forgot", but always apologetically.Today, a Sunday, they open at 7am so i set it for 715.. i arrived at 720 and doors still locked. Went to drive through and got my order. when i asked what time they open .. she replied 7 but "we forgot to unlock the doors.. we're doing it now"..really? This store was okay when it first opened. My boyfriend and I would meet up for lunch break a few times out of the week. One day we were going to our car after a meal and an employee named Brittanny was pretty much acting like a lunatic towards another employee that was leaving in her car. I guess she was trying to fight her and kept cursing out in the open in front of other customers coming into the establishment. On a rare occasion when life gets busy and I'm late or I may need to wait a minute for them to finish up it gives me time to get to know the staff. Originally from the houston area, we have panera everywhere I've always been the biggest fan. I have to admit a lot of it is over priced but nowadays there aren't very many health places to eat anymore so overpaying for food that is decently healthy I really don't mind. Today at panera though was the worst experience I've had, my husband ordered from the rapid pick up since he only came to pick up some food for my sick self on his lunch break. He gets there and tell his order that he need to pick up, waits 15-20 minutes and they can't find his order at all. They finally say they have it then have the audacity to ask him again if he's ordered and that they can't find the order. He waited almost an hour for an order that is supposed to be a rapid pick up. After everything they also got the order wrong so this panera definitely no longer has my business. I hope someone fixes this but for now, we'll be going to another panera or no panera at all. Really bad service. My husband had to ask for a glass for a medium drinks--they were nowhere to be found. The people working there were slovenly. One of them even fell asleep in a booth where we could see her. One couple asked for a bread bowl, and of course, the store was out of bread bowls. They did not let the couple know this until they had sat down and had already paid. The whole store was nasty and poorly cleaned. We will not go back. Also, the prices are much too high. I wish we had just decided to go to Subway, where we always get good service. We will NOT return to this store. read more
