I normally like this place for the healthy options. However, the service is declining. My order to table isn't correct, my rapid to go orders are missing something or wrong. They significantly need to rethink the order online/tablet option. It's not giving the cooks enough time to process customers from three options: cashier, app, and in store tablets. Perhaps increase the amount of time from ordering online to 15min after order. Right now this place is unorganized. The manager tonight just kept yelling we gotta move make the orders in five minutes. But it was just a cluster. read more

I went here Friday night with a couple of friends. They close at 8 and we arrived around 715/720. The people ahead of us took a while to order no big deal. The food also took a while and they were out of bread. But at the end of the night these things can be over looked. We took a seat in the front of the store and an employee was staring at us. One of us asked if we were okay to sit at that table to which she responded "no but I guess you're here now so forget it" . There were no signs on the tables or cones blocking the section. She then put up cones to block it off and started vacuuming right next to us . Finally our food was ready around 740 and when one of us got up to get our food she turns around and goes "we are closing soon". While we were eating she came over to the section and continued to vacuum. As soon as the clock hit 755 she walked around the section saying "5 minutes guys 5 minutes" . I understand everyone wants to go home after a long day but we were out before 8, cleaned up after ourselves and made sure to avoid getting any food on the floor as to not make a mess where she just cleaned. I felt rather uncomfortable and rushed in this establishment I don't think I'd return back to this Panera. read more

I have come to the conclusion that this Panera is completely incapable of getting mobile orders correct. They ALWAYS forget portions of the order. Today they forgot the bagels. Last time they forgot a Sandwich. The time before that they forgot the Mac and cheese. Avoid this location for curbside unless you want food missing from your order and the hassle of having to go back to the store and fix it. I definitely won't be going back here anymore. read more

We tried this location again today. Still ranked the worst place ever! Don't try the ham egg sandwich. It's horrible . This is the worst Panera in the whole world. Always out of coffee and when ask them to refill the coffee they take your cup to the kitchen and serve you watered down coffee. To compare, try Panera in Gainesville versus this one. Very sad. I'm a huge Panera fan and this location used to be great but lately they have really gone down hill. They've been messing up orders, not including the right ingredients, portions seem to have shrunk drastically or the containers are only half full, bread has been burnt. It's really disappointing. I usually love Panera but YUCK! I got some soup and a salad from there a couple hours ago. & there was a LONG piece of hair at the bottom of my salad !! I'm def going to post a picture so anyone reading this can see. Smh. It's inconsiderate how people work around food & not wear hairnets. My hair is not even close to being that long. A convenient location,since I live 5 mins away from here.Located next to Safeway,this Panera stays busy from breakfast to dinner with being the only one in the area.Lots of good comfy seating in here even though it's a small one and the food is made to order and always fresh and tasty.The staff are friendly and always have smiles on their faces which is why this location is one of my faves.The only complaint I would have about this Panera is that they need to be more organized with the orders and expediting them out especially during the busy hour they have people waiting for more than 30 mins it's happened to me a few times.i understand it's busy and your all over the place but making wait that long is crazy.So word of advice is to avoid the busy hours.prices are reasonable as well.my favorite for breakfast is the spinach bacon egg soufflé,cooked perfectly and the texture is crispy and fluffy,just melts in your mouth so good! My favorite meal to get for lunch/dinner is the pick 2 choice with tomato soup and chipotle avocado chicken melt.The tomato soup is the best to have on a chilly day and the flavor is so good and the chicken melt is made with the freshest ingredients just so tasty when you take a bite.Totally a good place to chill and get work done while enjoying a yummy meal. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Both my husband and I have had bad experiences at this location, on several occasions. The orders being mixed up and delayed service is ridiculous. Open carry at Panera? This is not a gun debate post BUT a few days before Xmas, as I enjoyed a meal with my kids, a big burly man came in with a 45mm strapped to his hip. He was with his elderly parents and did not look like a police officer on/off duty. I did not know what to make of it but I felt uncomfortable enough by his presence and left the restaurant. On my way out I reported it to the manager and eventually emailed Panera; this is their reply: "While we will continue to comply with local firearm laws, we respectfully ask that customers not bring guns into our bakery-cafes. We are simply issuing this request to our customers as it is consistent with the environment we are trying to create. You will not see this policy posted in the bakery-cafes nor will associates ask customers who comply with local laws about their firearms, but we appreciate the cooperation of our valued guests." How can Panera "ask" customers without posting signs or taking actions when customers feel uncomfortable? Ridiculous corporate policy. read more

But seems to be poorly managed as both the green tea and unsweet tea were completely empty and plate / trays needed emptying and it took a while to get our food. All symptoms of understaffing. I remember when this location actually had fresh bread. The last time I had fresh bread from Panera's was when I went Charlottesville last year. At this location I would always order the tomato mozzarella panini which is now discontinued. It used to be so good, I would get it almost every time, in till they stopped putting cheese in it. I swear to god there was almost nothing in the panini, I was complaining about it and another guy near me had it too and was like yes I know right. This place has gotten horrible over the last couple of years. Today I was truly upset with the service (or lack thereof). This was not the first time this location has disappointed me thoroughly; however, I try to support my neighborhood businesses. When I visit this location, I am usually ordering a lot of food for a get together. The last time I ordered food (pre-ordered the day prior), the food was not ready when I ask it to be and they gave me a hard time about my request (cut the bagels in 4ths). Today, I once again pre-ordered my food (lots of bagels and coffee). I purposely showed up late to ensure my food was ready. It was; however, not only did they not honor my request (cut in 4ths as I was serving children), they did not even cut the bagels in half. I was totally pissed, especially since I didn't realize it until I got to my location. I will NEVER patronize this location again, and I most certainly will ensure that my family, friends, and acquaintances do not either. This is unacceptable as a franchise. If you are taking requests, you should honor them. I will also be writing to corporate as I am certain they would not want any of their locations to have a negative review. read more

This place was so unprofessional. The manager was rude I am a regular there and I ordered a salad that was all- yet they acted like they were cooking a 30 minute meal. Ordered online for 8 people and picked up in store. Unfortunately, when I got home two meals were missing from the package. Called the restaurant and they delivered the missing items to our house. I would not even give this place a star, if I didn't have to. I ordered dinner there tonight (curbside) and followed the directions. When I arrived the curb was full so I parked in the overflow lot. I clicked the email to say "I am here." Initially. It said, someone will be with you momentarily. Fifteen minutes later I had not been helped yet. Apparently the lady next to me had not either and she had to go gather her food. I decided to call. Only no one answered. By this point the curb was clear. I checked my email and clicked "I am here, again. This time it said there was an error. I reluctantly went in. By this time I'm very angry! As I'm searching through my bag, I'm interrupted by this young employee that asks if that's my car on the curb. I had to tell her twice that it was NOT. By this point I'm getting pretty loud that it defeats the purpose of me ordering curbside if I have to come in and get my food. Mind you, everyone and I mean everyone is sitting on their asses. So why are people getting paid and people hurting for jobs? Apparently, Panera doesn't mind paying people to sit around and not do a damn thing. I will be calling the regional manager tomorrow. I love panera. I just don't like the fact that I ordered on line it said it would be done at 12:30. I went in at 12:35 it wasn't there to pick up. At 12:43 the young man had a bagged ordered at 12:38 and a 12:40. And mine came out at 12:45. My order that was placed at 12:25. Once got home we got 2 small baguettes and the middle of my bread blow was not cut out. read more

This is the worse Panera. Every time I go here the sandwiches are wrong, but especially on Friday evenings. I asked that there be no spread or sauce on the Italian and it says so on my receipt, there's spread on the sandwich. I ordered a mediterranean which is supposed to have cucumbers -- there's no cucumbers. I should have checked the order before I left because it's happened before and I wanted to try a second time. Food is great, but we always end up waiting 30+ minutes for our food. A few weeks ago my husband and daughters ordered breakfast so it was 4 meals and a vanilla late. They were all served one at a time with 15 minutes in between. My toddler was the last one to receive her bagel after waiting 45 minutes! I kept checking on her order and kept being told that it was on the way. Never happened. The only reason we ever got the bagel was because I spoke to the manager. Like many times before, she gave us free bagels and free cookies to make up for it. The first two times it happened it was fine, but we've experienced it too many times now that we don't even bother attending this Panera anymore. We eat here many times at 4300 Merchant Plaza, 22192. Today 10/22/2015, we did an online order to save time when pickingup there. We did not see our foodbag when we arrived, then we knew that someone took our order. We told with the cook, he said that we might be in wrong store and asked us to show the order email. We do not have a fancy phone to check email. We are in store waiting for 30 minutes, and one of customers lend us his phone. We finally got our order, but when we went home, we found out that the cook put wrong bread in our order. I hope that they read this message so they can do better next time to anyone. read more

Ridiculously expensive! It amazes me how Panera can charge almost $8 for mac n' cheese and it isn't even made in-house. It comes out of a bag and is re-heated at the establishment. Their sandwiches are decent, depending on which one you get but I would rather buy fresh lunchmeat at the grocery store and make my own. The only time you will find their bread fresh is if you get there early for lunch (anytime before 2pm). Otherwise, the bread that has been sitting all day starts to get stale and chewy. They do have decent bread and baguettes but you have to get them when they are first made. Again, the price you pay for the lack of quality you get just doesn't add up. Also, the past two times I have gone there the lettuce on my sandwich was wilted and brown around the edges. The onions were dry, like they have been sitting out in the open or had been reused from the previous day and the bread wasn't fresh. Shame on you Panera for charging the public top dollar to eat your substandard food. read more

I use the rapid order often and every single time it is not correct with things missing and different then ordered. I always get excuses from the manager instead of an apology. Do not put right quantity in the salads. Too bad it's the only one close by. When I'm at work, I use the one in Fairfax , what a difference. read more
