Thank goodness I'm not allergic to nuts. I SPECIFICALLY asked for none. Make sure you guys double check when you make food. Thank you

Sad sandwich!!!
Thomas S.

Sorry to say that this is the saddest grilled cheese sandwich I have seen in a long time. Looks like 1 slice of cheese in between to slices of Texas toast. Not exactly my idea of a "classic" grilled cheese.

The poached pears were exquisite. The fresh spinach and thin-sliced pears were the perfect bed (better than arugula would have been) and the crans, feta and crushed nuts were great for balance and texture. But let's talk about that chicken's agave marinade. It was zesty with a slight acidic citrus to balance the sweetness from the pear. The whole deal was delicious. And with the maple-dijon vinaigrette to top it off - well, that topped it off! My buddy got a Hippie Chic sandwich and he liked it very much too. I don't usually write reviews on first visits and certainly never before for a salad but the Vault is a gem that should be on full display, not locked away!

I went here for mother's day. This was our first time here. Cute little place. We parked around the…read moreback and sat on the patio. Right out of the gate I was disappointed with slow service. There were two waitresses in our area and it was clear ours was not as serious about their job as the other. We waited long enough after being seated to start to wonder id we had been forgotten. Two other tables (seated after us by the other waitress) had been seated and got drinks before our someone came to our table. When I did get my water it had plastic wrap in it. The other waitress took it from us to get a new one. No sorry, nothing. Acted like nothing happened. Our waitress delivered the new one 10 solid minutes later. It was Not super busy at this time. Why so long? And again no acknowledgement of the plastic.. couldnt get myself to drink anything else with worry of contamination of the ice box. Order the california chicken sandwich and brussel sprouts. My mother had the smash burger. She seemed to enjoy it though both sandwiches were stacked super tall and mine had two huge thick red o ions on it. A bit overpowering but mine was good after that was removed. Brussel sprouts were significantly salty. Wasnt able to get through them. My mom got the fries and tho were standard. She also got a bloody mary. It was alright she seemed to enjoy it. Waitress was a little sarcastic with us for no reason and the plastic and just overall service was unfortunate. It was enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth and I dont plan to return.

Checked out this restaurant in Yorkville to get Middle Eastern food. Flame Kabob has a limited menu…read morecompared to other places. It has a lot of choices that are meaty and these even include salads. Also kind of a hectic atmosphere. There's not a whole lot of room inside for tables. Basic looking place in a strip mall with other places to eat. It's somewhere after going past it enough times I got a craving for a falafel wrap so finally we came in. They got a much more limited menu that really made us struggle to choose something. A few okay things to get. There's a counter to order that and they bring it out. It's about $7 to get the dolmanthes. These are the classic stuffed grape leaves. It's about $8 to get hummus. This is pretty much the extent of the vegetarian options. Someone forgot to put falafel on the menu. They have plenty of chicken though. Crappy. The lunch was okay but it seemed not that fresh to be honest. Fairly okay food if liking gyros and kabobs because that's mostly all they actually got. It's one of the few restaurants of this cuisine to not have any falafel on the menu which is crazy stuff. There's a few items for vegetarians but these are sides or whatever.

Had okay time at this bar and pizza place in Yorkville with great drinks and okay food. It has some…read moregood things about it. Mike & Denise's is one of several restaurants the owners have around town it seems. For certain this location is the best known. The prices can be kind of high on some things, okay for others. A kind of haphazard setup once you get inside. It's got the entrance where you can choose two ways to go, whether it's eating inside or for pickup. The inside dining area is also kind of hard to get through. Has a patio. There's a good amount of seating. Most people seem to get beers. Pretty expected with these going great with pizzas. It's about $9 for one of their seasonal cocktails. We got a couple including the Lucky Charm. A classic. This is made with coconut, Malibu coconut rum, orange juice, and pineapple juice. It's about $12 to get a personal pizza with a few toppings of your choosing. We got the build your own option. A great option is giardiniera because it's like a few toppings in one to be honest. The pizza has a pretty crispy crust and is great for sharing. Crazy busy because it's one of the best known places in town to go. It's located on Veterans Parkway in the one plaza. They have half off pizzas on Tuesdays.

I'm back, more than a decade later, to update, and its great news!…read more5 stars, for sure. The pizza here is the best in town. The other food options they have are tasty as well (try the Philly quesadilla, seriously). LOTS of beer to choose from, and creative cocktails that match the season or holiday. My favorite thing about it though is the atmosphere - it's always a party, but family friendly. The owners are great, they hire lots of local students and support local sports and organizations, and when the Bears pulled off that win over the Packers in the wild card, they were out of town but bought a round for the whole bar! Highly recommend giving this place a try, for a family dinner, a quick drink, a work gathering, anything - and try their other businesses, too! (The Vault and Bristol Tap).
