    Pho Chay

Check out this good Asian find. It has lots of noodles such as pho and plenty of vegan friendly options. Pho 89 is one of the few decent places for Asian in Yorkville. Has lots of other menu items besides just the noodles and pho. They also have banh mi sandwiches A lot of noodles of course. It's a restaurant that specializes in pho. There's also banh mi sandwiches, the kind that's popular in Vietnam on streets. It seems pretty authentic. The majority uses a beef or chicken broth, and have some kind of a meat, whether it be these or seafood. Has one that's vegan friendly. This is the Pho Chay, great stuff. It's about $12 for a pretty big bowl. This has certified vegan broth and rice noodles with soft tofu and a mix of fresh vegetables. It has the vegetables on the side so you can add them later. This keeps them crunchier and not soggy. It has really nice spices like basil. This smells like great stuff and complements the great taste. For those who like Vietnamese there's a good place far away from the big city. It's closed Tuesdays, which is the only bad thing. They have mostly pho and most of the menu items have some kind of meat but there's a couple things for vegetarians.

Food, service, and ambiance, was amazing the phooooo was sooo good! Coming from out of town, im always wary. But the broth was so clear, aroma was on point, and the meat (especially the brisket) was so tender. Will definitely come back pho-more

Char siu pork bun had the perfect balance of favors. The bun was fluffy, pork tender and sweet, and a nice spice of cilantro. The pho was incredible. The broth was cooked to perfection from a hint of the spices used. Also delicious toppings! Yum! Large portions & great service!

Food was amazing and the people were so nice :) My wife and I I will be going again soon

1.5 stars. First time trying out Pho 89 with the fam. Thought we'd try out a new place for dinner. Next to Little Caesar's pizza, Panera, and La Michoacana. The spring rolls looked pretty, but were very dry and the noodles were hard. The pho was a good size, but not much flavor in the broth it was just okay. However the cleanliness of the condiments/utensils stand was a big turn off.

Outstanding!!! I've being eating Pho since 2002 and this is close to be my favorite spot !! The shrimp rolls were delicious, garlic soy sauce extremely flavored ! My fiancé ordered the file mignon pho and I the brisket and steak. The Mignon was the best, next time will be my primary choice ! 38 minutes drive was more than worth it! Keep the good job Leo, we will be back for sure .

I would give this spot 6 out of 5 stars if I could, it exceeded my expectations. My husband and I came here on a weekend for dinner. I was craving pho, but we both wanted to try something different than our usual haunts. Enter Pho Son, a few towns over from us, and we were ready to give it a shot and drive through a new town. Their food is incredible. I'll even venture to say, their food was better than what I've had in Chicago... and I've had a LOT of pho in the city. We ordered: House Special Wings (canh ga chien) Tofu Spring Rolls Pho Dac Biet (Meat Combination); mine Spicy Noodle Soup (Bun Bo Hue); his What made this spot a winner was the quality/freshness of their ingredients. The little details of my dish that I really appreciated: a generous amount of scallions, clear broth, super tender tripe, and melt in your mouth brisket. When I tasted how fresh their tripe was, I felt like I had been consuming subpar tripe my entire life. I thought, "this is how tripe is _supposed_ to taste." Similar, maybe, to someone who has never been to a steakhouse and then tries a gourmet filet mignon for the first time. The comparison is for a totally different part of the cow, but you know what I mean!). It was cooked "right" and it made all the difference. My husband enjoyed his spicy noodle soup. It was not called Bun Bo Hue on the menu, but this was essentially what it was. He ordered his without shrimp. Our appetizers were also fresh and tasty. The wings were delicious with a sticky honey-fish sauce glaze that was finger lickin', need-to-wash-your-hands-after-you-eat-them, good. TL;DR Pho Son is excellent. Since I am still fairly new to the western suburbs, this spot reminds me of the restaurants in Uptown where I would go for a bowl of pho, but even better. We only tried their noodle soups here, but I'd come back to try their rice bowls and vermicelli bowls too. I'm glad this spot is close by, and we won't need to drive to the city to get our pho fix. We will be back. 6/5 stars!

We've brought traveling friends and family here, and it never misses. The portion sizes are fantastic--we highly recommend the Shrimp Spring Rolls and the Viet Taste Starter Platter, which is an amazing deal. For our main courses, we usually go with the V032 Pho Dac Biet (the broth is so comforting!) and the V070 Double 'B' Banh Mi. Occasionally, I'll opt for the V062 Marinated Pork Chop with Honey Sausage and Fried Eggs, which is always delicious. Located in Pacifica Square near the Fox Valley Mall, it's such a fun, cozy atmosphere. They usually play acoustic guitar covers of pop songs in the background, which adds a really nice touch to the experience. If you're looking for high-quality, consistent Vietnamese food, this is the place!

I got the V045 which is pho with Well Done Beef Brisket, Eye Round Steak Slices, Tripe, which I usually get when I go to a Pho Noodle Station location. The pho came out and the first few bites satisfied the pho craving. But the cuts of meat weren't the best and the broth didn't taste fresh. It was hard to finish the bowl, although the portion size was generous. It probably didn't help that we were seated next to the kitchen, and the doors would swing open every few minutes and smells of dish soap would waft through. I usually love Pho Noodle Station, especially the location in Champaign, but this was a disappointing experience. Not sure if the stores are related, but I wish the quality was as good as that location.

I looked up highly rated Vietnamese restaurants and found Tasty House 1 in Carol Stream. This place is everything we anticipated it to be. The location is nice and has parking in front, inside is super spacious and had a relaxing and breathable ambiance. We ordered a family appetizer platter that came with all the delicious Vietnamese appetizers like: spring rolls, bbq marinated meat, fried eggrolls, grilled jumbo shrimp, meat wrapped in betel leaf, lettuce, noodles, cucumbers, cabbage, tomatoes, daikon, jalapeños, two dipping sauces: peanut butter hoisin and Vietnamese fish sauce. Another appetizer we got separately was the fried calamari which had a great crunchy texture, the absolute best! For our entrees I decided to build my own pho and chose tripe, rib eye steak and quail eggs. My husband got the spicy beef noodle soup (Bun Bo Hue). There is a separate vegan menu with half a dozen things on it, and other than the drinks and desserts, pretty much nothing on the regular menu is vegetarian. (The papaya salad, which is on the vegan menu, is a ringer: it contains fish sauce.) You've got your choice of various fruit lemonades, bubble teas, popping bubble teas, jellies, etc. Desserts include flan, Vietnamese yogurt, coconut jelly - none of which you'll be eating onsite as you'll be too full after your entree. Portions are on the large side - even the papaya salad is a meal. I got the peach lemonade, vegetable spring rolls and the tofu, vegetable and noodles, which turned out to be a soup, basically Vietnamese ramen. The spring rolls are tasty and come with peanut sauce; the vegetable broth was savory with lots of baby bok choy, plenty of noodles and cubes of fried tofu - it was even better with some of the homemade hot sauce, which I highly recommend. The lemonade comes in a bubble tea disposable cup and contains tiny pieces of fruit - very fruity, not very citrusy. Service was friendly and very personable, which helps if you're serving 16 people. All of whom were happy.
