Natalia worked on my hair the first time and I was so impressed that I have been going back to her ever since. She did such an incredible job with my color. It was first time ever getting highlights and Natalia blew me away! The next time in, I told her I wanted to go lighter and she did exactly that and exceeded my expectations. I get so many compliments on the color of my hair and the cut, that I keep Natalia's cards in my wallet so I can just hand them out! Amazing owner and staff! We had an appointment at another salon who cancelled on us. My daughter was devastated because she had waited 3 weeks to get that appointment so she could have unicorn hair. I found this place after having a really bad experience at 3rd Ave Studio and they saved me! Mae took me in and she really listened to what I wanted and most of all, what I didn't want. She cut and trimmed my bangs exactly as I requested and didn't overload my hair with product, which was one of my complaints about 3rd Ave Studio. I've been back multiple times since then and have had my hair cut by Carol and Marco and my hair absolutely loves them. With each visit my hair looks better and better and becomes more manageable with less maintenance and styling required. Do NOT see Yanin Lozano. I saw her yesterday because my color from a previous salon had turned a warmer/red hue and I prefer cool tones. Needless to say, I now have orange hair. Even my husband, who doesn't notice anything, thought my hair looked awful! I should have known when I was sitting in the chair, she kept going back and forth saying "oh maybe we should do this, oh no let's try this", but I was already there and I've never had a hair service I was dissatisfied with. She knew it looked bad when it was blow dried and booked me an appt to come back and fix it. I was going to return, but I was so anxious about her doing even something worse to my hair so I called about a refund. I spoke with her and she told me not to bother asking for her manager because she was an independent contractor so her manager wouldn't even care or do anything. She also told me she was the professional and my hair didn't look bad(than why did she book a free follow appt for this wknd)? I'm my opinion, WORTH paying more for a more skilled/experienced hairstylist that cares about customer satisfaction and retention. I had heard good things about this salon, so I can't speak to the other employees; but it makes you wonder if they hire someone that can't just tone down some warm tones. This is my second review for Pangaea Salon, specifically for Dana. Yesterday, I had an appointment for a color and cut. I requested my base color to be darker, and the pink strips of "flash color" to be brighter. I also wanted a trim. Not only was Dana able to get me in the day after I called (to fit my schedule), she was fast! When Dana finished, I asked, "Really??" My hair turned out a thousand times better than I ever expected it to. Dana knew what I was asking for, even though I couldn't really articulate it. Dana will always offer a consultation and will provide her honest and professional opinion. After years of self-coloring my own hair, I was shocked that I could get these bright colors of pink without having Dana damage my hair. Aside from her wonderful skillset, Dana makes the whole experience more personable and massages your scalp while washing, offers you a beverage, and guaranteed, she will always make you laugh. Marco, her co-worker, is next to her always smiling and creating his own hair magic on his clients, and the general atmosphere is hip without trying or even knowing they are hip. I wanted to post this picture just to show how awesome Dana is...I really couldn't be happier. My husband has now seen her twice as well. He gets his beard all trimmed up, and well, I really think he just likes getting pampered. Yanin was just what I was looking for in my first DevaCut stylist. She explained what she was doing every step of the way and more importantly, why. She studied my hair AND scalp, and taught me that cleansing and conditioning the scalp is also very important. She was exceptionally knowledgeable about DevaCurl products but wasn't a hard sell, which I appreciated. A cute, well put together little shop on Colfax. I went to Kenny after having chickened out of the long bob I wanted at a previous salon and he nailed it. Seriously. I have a stupid amount of hair and he worked through it like it was nothing. Not only is it one of the best haircuts I've had, it was done start to finish in 30 minutes. Absolutely the worst haircut I've ever received. I'm a long haired man (or at least I was), I came in for a light trim and the stylist ruined my hair. I was aiming for my usual lush mane and ended up looking like an androgynous middle schooler. I wanted about an inch maybe an inch and a half off and the guy took 4+ and then didn't even do that well so I have wonky layers and random jagged edges. I wanted to comment on the outstanding customer service my wife received from Carol who provided a cut and color while on our vacation in Denver. My wife originally stop in too buy product from Pangaea, as she already has a hairdresser whom she is faithful too in terms of allowing other stylist to touch her hair. However, Carol, Marco and Dan treated my wife so well I was compelled to write this review. Moreover, my wife became eager to allow Carol to give her a "touch up", which eventually evolved into a full out cut and color. My wife has not stopped talking about her hair since and even I can notice the quality of care Pangaea provided. I will recommend Pangaea to everyone I know here in Denver . Carol deserves many kudos for her knowledge and experience in styling and for her excellent customer service. So I am writing this review on my husbands account so despite the name and profile pic, this review is from a woman's experience. I dropped in to the salon based on my admiration of Dan 's (from the Amsterdam coffee shop next door) hair color which I really liked. He recommended Marco, so I figured I would try the place out. I stopped by on my home from school but Marco wasn't in and Carol was the only stylist there. She was booked for the night, but offered to stay late to fit me in. I appreciated her willingness to do so after a long day at the salon, but was able to book an appointment the next day with Marco, so I did that instead. I usually go to the Aveda hair institute downtown, but was a little bummed the last time I went when the color that I loved -only lasted one wash, even with the pricey shampoo and conditioner I bought to protect it... So I wanted to try a non-Aveda salon and am very happy with my decision. The salon itself is very welcoming, and both Marco and Carol were very friendly. Marco listened to what I wanted ( to dye my hair black, which I've never done, from the faded red color it was) and gave my advice for my over processed hair. The end result was the very dramatic color I had wanted, a great cut to flatter the color (which involved a little fixing from the student work of my last hair cut) and a hair mask to repair the damage I've done from constantly dying my hair. Overall I would definitely recommend this place, and Marco who is an expert at color and answered all of my crazy questions. I would say it is reasonably priced, and worth the little extra compared to the school I usually go to, to have a quality cut/color in a nice atmosphere. read more

The employees were kind & welcoming, and Carol took the time to listen to what I was hoping for in my cut that day as well as my longer term hopes. She also knew just what services I had booked, and I didn't have to remind her which has unfortunately been the case at other salons in the past. Carol took the time and effort to give me a little coaching on how to best maintain my hair and made me feel very comfortable. I was very confident in her, and with myself and my new doo as I left.
