Very nicely run business has great pizza, clean family atmosphere service and food are wonderful

I visited Papanos on a busy night and was handed the wrong order. It wasn't a big deal -- I let the staff know, and they said they would remake my food, estimating it would take about 10 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes, I checked on my order, only to be told it had never been put in. I politely asked for a refund, but the staff member said it would only take another 5 minutes. I explained that I had somewhere to be and requested the refund again. He assured me he would take care of it. When I asked to speak with a manager, he said he was the manager and told me I needed to calm down. I asked for his name, but he refused to provide it. Another employee later told me his name was Waylin. Overall, I found his behavior unprofessional. Maybe he was having a bad day, but based on my experience, it might be better if he stayed in the kitchen rather than dealing directly with customers read more

As a lactose intolerant person who tries not to eat cheese, I tried their wings with hot buffalo sauce on the side. The wings were lovely and crisp, juicy on the inside, and the sauce was hot and flavorful. It's a nice option for takeout in the area. read more

When I got home I discovered they used pizza, toppings, i.e. bacon, bits, and diced tomatoes. First I want to start off by saying that the staff was very kind which goes a long way for me. But that's about where to positive experience ends. The girl who took our order, while sweet, was definitely struggling with figuring out how to enter our order into the register. We had to repeat a few times which I was happy to do but ultimately part of our order was still wrong when we received it. It's a bit pricy here for what you get. The wings were soggy and not fully cooked so we didn't eat those. The pizza had the wrong toppings and we paid extra for a special garlic crust which was basically just excessively layered in garlic salt. They also forgot my salad and I ended up not eating it by the time I got it because we were full from the pizza. It looked good though. I would have appreciated a partial refund for the inedible wings and other mistakes but one was not offered. Over all for the price and quality I wouldn't recommend this as a first choice, but due to the friendly staff I wouldn't completely write it off as an option. read more

They do decent slices at lunchtime, but much better are the made-to-order pizzas. Excellent crust and generous toppings. Toppings include cooked garlic cloves. No waiting, unlike many Beulah restaurants in the summer. I tried the Veggie sub too, which was good but not great. read more

I love A. Papano's Pizza. I drive about 25 miles round trip to pick it up. I was sent/ emailed a coupon for $5 off that I tried to apply in the coupon space on their mobile app. It wouldn't recognize the coupon. I paid for the pizza with my credit card on the app without the discount being applied. When I picked up my pizza they wouldn't honor the code on my email saying I had to use the code when I payed for the pizza. I told the staff member I tried to use it when I paid for the pizza on the app. She said I had to pay for it in store and use the coupon at their counter. This turned a good gesture ($5 off coupon) into a negative customer experience. 25 miles is a little to far to drive now. read more

Friendly owner and much better service than the Frankfort location. One of the better pizza places around. Great two slice and drink lunch special! Definitely grab a delicious toasted oven sandwich to pair with your two slices. I would highly recommend Papanos over the typical Little Caesars, pizza huts and Dominos! read more

We had my daughter and her husband up for the 4th and we ordered a couple pizza's. My son in law who is a Pizza fantatic said its the best pizze he has ever had. A.Papanos is now our official destination. Even though we live 25 minutes away it's worth the drive! We orderd 3 pizzas over the 4th of July weekend and then ordewrs some awsome subs last Thursday prior to a concert in downtown Beulha. Those were fantastic as well! I have to update my review of Papano's. They have a great online ordering system now. The two orders I have made were hot and ready when I arrived with little wait. We are local and due to shutdown, not much was open . We ordered a pickup...meat lovers pizza and salads. It was our first chance to get pizza. Papano's has the best pizza that I've found in Northern Michigan. Locations include Beulah, Frankfort, Interlochen, and a few others. Particularly known for their choices of flavored crusts at no additional cost... my favorites are the butter parmigiana and the sesame crusts. An admitted long term fan. You can see my review for the Frankfort location which is pretty much ditto for this place. I haven't had any of the service issues another reviewer mentioned here and I've been coming here for years. I don't doubt it happens from time to time, but I'm always hesitant to write a review based on a single experience. Like the Frankfort location, this location could use some updating. That said, you'd be sorely mistaken not enjoying some of this pizza while you're in the area. Not a lot of options up north in early April. Since the Cherry Hut was closed we went up the road to Papano's. They were kind and friendly. Pizza was pretty darn good, Greek salad was good, and the mozzarella breadsticks were good. I was surprised it had only gotten 3 star review. After looking at the reviews from the Frankfort location I felt I had to try this pizza while we were in town visiting family. We visited the Beulah location and the pizza is not as great as everyone says. Granted, it is better than the pizza chains but its not amazing. Staff is friendly and efficient and the pizza is good. The atmosphere was very nice. We had the boneless chicken wings, a small Greek salad and a large half Hawaiian half meat pizza. The pizza was the best we found in this area. I can't say it was great but it was very good. The salad was fresh and crisp. The wings were good but I think they were frozen. We opted to get garlic seasoning on the crust. Papano's has always been our favorite place for pizza. If I can get someone to buy a pizza I tell them just down the street from us is Papano's. The service is great, you do have to get your own plate and silverware plus your drink. Gives you something to do while you wait for the best flavored tasty pizza. I'm on social security and can't have a pizza but once a month.Our police are there all the time. They know a great place for pizza!! I seen the comment of the "sullen teens" that work there, and I do agree they should be polite and say "welcome" or "thanks for stopping in". Perhaps more training in that area.
