Maybe we ordered the wrong things but we were definitely disappointed. We went in to get dessert to go. We got a chocolate croissant and a shortbread cookie. When we got back to the room we tried the chocolate croissant and no chocolate. It wasn't bad but we wanted chocolate. The shortbread cookie was awful. The bread and pizza looked good. I'm giving it two stars because the muffins were good, but the coffee (mine mocha, his latte) was so bad we only drank half and dumped out the rest. I like small/quaint/eclectic. This place is small and dirty. And, no, they do not take credit cards but they do have a handy atm so they can reap the benefits if an unwitting customer gets caught without cash. read more

No idea why it has taken me so long to write a review of my favorite place to stop in Nye Beach and it's next door to my favorite shop, JOVI!!! The bakery is beyong any other bakery I've ever visited. Their breads are just wonderful but it's the cafe Mocha and the pastries that keep bringing me back. First place I go to on our first morning in town. We also love Stephanie's when we want a full breakfast. And to my surprise Panini's now offers breakfast in a cast iron fry pan. When leaving town to head back home I always get a couple of baguettes to bring home. Their baguettes and crusty and the texture inside is heaven. The baker made an almond torte and had samples on the counter. I ate a bite and it melted in my mouth, so delicious . I gave him thumbs up hoping he will add it to the menu. Lovely staff so cheerful and sweet like their pastries. Bravo Panini until we see you again. read more

This is the best pizza I have ever had...After a long walk on the beach and practically starving to death...we drop in to Panini's...There are usually four or five pizza selections (by the piece). They are big enough for a meal and to die for yummy...I personally am happy when they have the eggplant special or artichoke..My husband likes the meat so sausage or peperoni... for him...YOu need to try it!... read more

I was there 2 days ago and am still talking about that pizza slice to anyone who'll listen. I selected the plain vegie thinking it wouldn't be quite so yummy as the sausage-combo so that I wouldn't be tempted to eat the whole thing. The slice was HUGE. It was noon so there wasn't much seating and I ordered it to go. That slice covered the entire paper plate. I went out to my car thinking I'd drive to a view point and eat it while watching the ocean. I took a quick bite and that's all it took. There was no driving anywhere. I consumed the entire slice right there in my car. I know I made moaning sounds with every bite. It had a great crunch to the crust, and the sauce was absolute perfection! So much for thinking I'd only eat part of it. I not only ate the whole thing, I licked my fingers and even tried to lick the paper plate. Thank goodness I live in Portland so can't come for lunch every day. Wow! read more

Went here to get coffee on a stay this past weekend in Newport. Wow, was the service rude and bad. We didn't even stay long enough to get the coffee I was after because the girl behind the counter was so disinterested in helping us and was more interested in how cool she found herself to be. Also, big turnoff that they don't take debit or credit, only cash or check (!) but will happily point out the ATM right behind you. My husband pointed out they get paid every time someone uses it. My husband and I were in this morning and felt like none of the guys working there could have cared less if we were even there!!! Just looked at us a few times then FINALLY someone helped us...the breakfast wasn't even worth all of that....mad I wasted my money on someplace that didn't want my business!!! read more

We came in 10 minutes before closing and the staff was still very happy to help us. The croissants were delicious :) cute little store!

Holy crap, this place is fantastic! Thank you to the line of 8 people standing outside it, which caused us to give it a try. The staff was super friendly. The vibe of the place is wonderful, very warm and comforting (as a bakery should be). A truly amazing selection of baked goods and pastries. Then there are these amazing looking breads displayed on this ancient bread display shelf. Had a ridiculously delicious lemon curd brioche thing *drool* Also tried this caramel nut bar which was amazing, too. Super SUPER buttery amazing crust and topped with all kinds of nuts, including pistachios. Not the prettiest food, but totally moan-inducingly delicious. The staff is not the fastest baristas in the world. So if someone orders an espresso drink, it'll take a few moments. But worth it. Topped lovingly with pretty foam, it was a very tasty mocha. What fantastic treats to munch as we walked along the beach. My only sadness was that we were leaving town that morning and couldn't justify buying some of the loaves of bread, as well. read more

Discovered this bakery while on a quest for a decent loaf of bread on the Oregon coast. The rustic sourdough was so good we came back for another loaf and a huge piece of pesto focaccia. Fabulous! read more

Would have given it five stars if they had had turkey to make our sandwiches at noon time :( staff was not as friendly as other places but i wont' knock them for that after one visit. We went to find the beach we visited 8 years ago and on the way back stumbled upon this little place. It was crowded and there was nothing special about it from appearance. Since we were going to the lighthouse tour later on we decided to order a few sandwiches to go. We were told that it would take 15 minutes and the sandwiches would be made from scratch. We decided to wait. What a smart decision that was as the sandwiches turned out to be the best we have ever had! The warm salami on a warm and freshly baked bread just melt in your mouth. Who would imagine that you can find the best sandwiches tucked away in such a little place. This place definitely deserves a 2nd visit. read more

We were at an awesome superbowl party last night and the host had some of your very good pizza.I tried the combo and I must admit it was the best tasting sauce and meats I have ever had on a pizza ! I have tried pizza at every place here In Newport and the surround areas and this is the best crust,sauce and ingredients of them all. I will order one soon to take home !!! read more

First, I want to get out of the way the reason this place has more than one star. The first night we went there we had shortbread and hot chocolate, and it was fairly good. I'm giving them a star purely on that. The next time we went, however, we found ourselves grossly disappointed. Quite a few reviews have mentioned that their pizza is quite good, so for lunch on our last day we decided to try it. We arrived at around noon where there were only two other customers in the place with us, and ordered a single cheese pizza. They said the wait would be about forty minutes. This seemed absurd on its face, but thinking back on the good reviews and deciding we had nothing better to do, we shrugged and decided to wait. An hour later, the pizza was still not forthcoming and despite our best efforts we could not get an update on when it would be done, besides a stern employee telling us it would be done "when it is ready." Then the pizza arrived, and although it was on the reasonable side price wise, I would rather have gotten a Little Caesar's $5 than this. It seems that for that 20 min differential, our pizza had simply been sitting on their back counter in the box, as it was lukewarm at best, and cold at worst. The cheese on top, the only ingredient other than sauce, was burnt, while the crust was so doughy me and my wife had difficulty eating it at all. Our jaws were sore by the end, and none of the employees seemed to care that it had taken them an hour to cook such terrible food, nor were they apologetic about the extra wait time. This was by far the lowlight of our trip to Newport. read more

Get the spinach Parmesan scone! I get this every time I can. This is the most inconsistently made thing I have gotten anywhere, but whether it had more pepper, more salt, dry, moist it's always delicious. Amazing job with the staffing. They are more of a local feel, but always remember the returning tourists. Thanks guys! read more

They receive this rating not because of the food ... the food is great ... But the customer service today was the worst ever ! at 145 I called to order a pizza after driving 40 minutes and having my grandson excited for peperoni pizza ... I was told they were out of dough ... the had 1 piece left but refused to hold it for the 10 minutes it would take me to drive the rest of the way there ... the girl was like a puppet repeating a script ... so I ask to talk to the manage ... who also proceeded to talk from the same script ... I begged and pleaded ... as a friend and I and my grandson wanted to have their pizza ... I asked "what Happened " Panini used to be a cool, hip ,fun and quirky place to go so not just for the food but for a taste of counter culture coolness . She replied "The Owner used to be that way but he grew up and has strict rules on what they can and cant do ... something to the fact that he grew up and got a clue " of course we didnt go after the conversation will never go again unless there is an apology .... and will remove all there info from our vacation rental homes in Yachats and Never send anyone their way again !!! Food should be an experience and something we feell good about ... I would have done a minus star if I could have shame on you for not being willing to help a 10 year old from Ca have an experience he had looked forward to every year since he was 4 or 5 !
