We decided to give Panini Grill a second chance after a disastrous birthday brunch for my daughter and daughter-in-law. We ordered a grandma pie, broccoli rabe and cacio e Pepe. The pasta came with a vodka sauce and no pepper. I called the restaurant and asked if they could send a cacio e pepe and I would return the linguini with vodka sauce. The person answering the phone kept saying how "weird" it was. I asked for the manager who gets on the phone and says " our cacio e Pepe comes with pink sauce". Don't understand the overall Yelp rating here. I just ate lunch here today with my husband and my mom. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the portions were huge! We took some of it home to finish later in the night. The bread we got for the table to start was delicious. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and loved it. It was lightly fried and delicious. For entrees we got the pork chop with potatoes and vegetables, chicken parm with potatoes and vegetables, and a crispy chicken chipotle panini. For dessert we ordered the apple pie which came with a side of ice cream as well as tartufo. We enjoyed every one of our dishes and would absolutely return ! Out of 30+ tables in the restaurant, there were only two people dining in. We got our food 1.5 hours later. They forgot our french fries as well. The pizza was cold. The skirt steak was tough (how does someone overcook skirt??), and the panini was drenched in corn syrup ridden sauce. Not recommended. The only saving grace was a courteous staff that had no control over what the kitchen was handling. I don't understand what is happening with this restaurant when I place an online order. My last THREE orders had something that was incorrect. This time THE ENTIRE ORDER WAS WRONG!! This was $57 dollars for 3 wraps when iit should have been whole wheat paninis, which was CLEARLY STATED TWICE (since they have gotten that wrong on parts of previous orders) I requested blue cheese on the side of one of the paninis (which again was incorrectly made as a wrap) and they left it on it, I also requested creamy balsamic (which I paid extra for) and was given balsamic vinegar instead. This "tower " of French toast is just to hide their burnt toast. The server saw i didn't eat it and asked if i wanted it wrapped. I told her no bc it's all burnt and she didn't seem to care. The specials get better and better every time. Along with the bread, my family ordered a hot antipasto to share. The appetizer came with eggplant rollatini, fried calamari, fried shrimp, baked clams, and stuffed mushroom. My favorites were definitely the eggplant, fried calamari, and shrimp. The appetizer was quite large and there was enough for about 4-6 people to share as an appetizer. As always, for the main course, I could not deicide what to order. This time I was adventurous and decided on the salmon special which was pan-seared and served over a bed of pesto risotto. Had a late lunch today and it was absolutely delicious from beginning to end. Started with Pasta Fagioli then Fettuccini Carbonara that was made to perfection. I want to just say I am a big fan of panini grill, but recently I had a horrific experience. I ordered two sandwiches which were amazing and a side salad on for one. (The positano salad) And not to be completely disgusting, but I found a green cricket/bug in my salad! It was good and then I noticed something more solid. And it was a large bug!! I immediately removed any food from my mouth and threw the whole thing away. This could totally be a one time big mistake on the produce or food preparer's part, but this was unacceptable and horrifying. And I know if my boyfriend (who I was sharing the meal with) was the one who encountered it he would have just eaten it unknowingly. And seeing as I'm not the first person to write about an unwanted item found in the food I strongly advise to carefully examine your food or maybe skip ordering here altogether. This place is a joke! I ordered my food at 5:50 and didn't get it till after 7:30 and they are so nasty and inconsiderate!!!!! They suck! I call to see where my food is and all I get back is hostility and a bitchy employee telling me "ok would you want me to cancel it or do you want it? Let me know because you just have to wait." I hang up. Then the manager calls and says I was screaming then I hang up on her too. It was unreal ! Their biggest contribution was helping me to make the executive decision to block them from my phone and never order from them again. Panini Grill is a local spot in my neighborhood. They have updated and renovated beautifully. I'm in the middle with my rating because this is my third time here. I wanted to try to change my mind on my rating. First time, I went for dinner, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, not impressed , I like my food hot, It was warm to cold, bland couldn't finish it. Second time I went for brunch, they have a nice brunch menu. I ordered the skinny omelette. It was ok, but again warm, not tasty. Last night I went in the afternoon and ordered a personal pizza with extra cheese and mushrooms. This was awesome! Delicious! I loved it! Highly recommend there pizza!!!
