What a gem! Panini Pete's is tucked away in the Fairhope French Quarter in downtown Fairhope. The outdoor seating is in a little courtyard, which has such a great atmosphere. We started with the beignets from the breakfast menu and they were delicious! They put a twist on traditional beignets, like at Cafe du Monde, by adding a lemon that is meant to be squeezed on top. The lemon is a brilliant addition and really balances the sweetness from the powdered sugar. This is one of the few places where I order the same thing each visit. Once again, I ordered the Seared Tuna Panini, and I'm still dreaming about it. The tuna was wonderfully seasoned, and had a strong enough flavor to stand up to the ciabatta bun and toppings. The key lime aioli and thin-sliced cucumbers added a nice coolness to round out the flavors. Will be back next time I'm in Fairhope! read more

This is a wonderful hidden gem in Fairhope's "French Quarter" (which is aptly named since it's the size of a quarter and if you drive to the light on the corner you'll completely miss it). I like to park in the Greers parking lot across the street since there's little to no on street parking. When you walk beneath the wrought iron ivy-covered stairwell that leads to Panini Pete's and the handfull of shops that surround it, it's like walking into a tiny corner on New Orleans. With the exception of local waterfront restaurants, The atmosphere at Panini Pete's really has no parallel on the entire eastern shore. There's a quaint and beautiful indoor atrium to dine in as well as outdoor seating near a tinkling fountain. There also an overflow room which is great because this place is always hopping, and with good reason. Everything is in the old New Orleans style. The food is excellent. I used to live in a vegas and became quite the foodie as a result. This place has food comparable to Vegas' better gourmet burger dives. There are few places here that can boast a better burger. They are gourmet, with toppings like goat cheese and arugula. Not your average fast food burger. You'll pay, but it's worth it. I've also noted they haven't increased prices since covid or if they have it wasn't much, so you're still paying pre-covid prices for a really delicious meal. There are other offerings as well. Try the rosary chicken sandwich if you're not into beef. Their skinny fries are a nice change and their chips appear to be fresh made on premises. I have never had anything but excellent service here. Be sure to tip well, these folks deserve it! They do have a bathroom that is outdoors but it's usually well attended despite being only one stall per gender. My only complaint is I wish they were open longer hours! read more

We had a bit of a hard time locating this place because it's tucked away way the back of a city strip of businesses. It was worth the hunt with only street parking available, but still worth it! The whole area arond this restaurant is in it's own quaint location with a tree covered patio and plenty of seating both outside and inside with a separate glass enclosed area with a very Nawlins vibe. There's friendly service with lots of vibrant activity all around. The menu is expansive with excellent breakfast choices of wraps, panini's, beignets and more. Lunch menu has expansive sandwiches of roast beef, Rosemary chicken, Muffaletta's, burgers of all types and good selection of garden salads.  The muffaletta papino is listed 100 Dishes To Eat In Alabama Before You Die and it didn't disappoint. It was fresh and packed with meats and a delicious olive salad. It's not the very best muffaletta I've had but it's very good. Note: The owner is almost done with construction on an adjacent property that is going to be home to a new pizza pub with late night menu, it sounds like it's going to be good. Bottom line: Everything we had was outstanding and the beignets are the best I've had anywhere, including a many different places in Nawlins. Highly recommend!! read more

I have been wanting to eat at Panini Pete's since I heard about it on Guy Fieri's Triple D show. I was not disappointed ! I had the "muffuletta" panini, and it was wonderful. The surprise was the addition of a tomato. My partner had the medium rare roast beef panini, and it too was delicious. I'm not much of a French fry eater, but the thin fryers were excellent. We both had the Bloody Mary drinks which were superb. The food was great, but what really made our visit extraordinary was our wonderful server Whitney aka Laken. She was very attentive and responsive to our questions and requests ! We definitely will be returning to the "French Quarter" in Fairhope, AL to enjoy lunch or perhaps dinner in the near future. We tried to have lunch here during Arts and Crafts weekend. They were only offering carry out, fine, but one of reasons I go there is because I am Celiac and it is one place in town I can go and get a good sandwich. Don't get fooled by the nice comment by Guy Feri on the menu selection Muffeleta on Sourdough bread with all fixing, because it ain't true. This muffeleta was a big shock in it's appearance and had zero taste. It didn't have enough olive salad between the bread slices. A real muffeleta is on poboy bread and loaded with meat and vegetables. It wasn't worth $13.00 plus at all, and the French fries were thin sticks. They have a beautiful courtyard, which we chose to not sit outside due to threat of rain and high heat and humidity. We were seated inside a cute little greenhouse type building with a/c. I had a yummy lunch here. The roast beef was perfect, but had way too much Gorgonzola sauce - and I had to scrape it off with my ginger because there were no utensils. The bread . was toasted perfectly and service was attentive. The music is good and there is seating for all weather. I forgot to mention one lady restroom. This took 3 tries and maybe 20 minutes of my 49 minute lunch. BUT for $10 plus tip I ate well and my dinner leftovers call. read more

I've probably been here a hundred times in the last 16 years, and will probably be here another hundred before it's all over. Pete's beignets put the Fairhope French Quarter on the map, and I've known more than one NOLA native who said they were the best they'd ever had. Pair your beignets with a hot café au lait, and don't forget to squeeze the lemon. Lunch features a nice variety of panini, burgers, salads, and soups. My favorite is the seared tuna panino, but the French Quarter Burger is also a go-to for me. Pete's Pizza and Pasta is also open now on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. The pasta is made in-house, and it's great, plus the servings are generous. Next time, we'll give the pizza a try. Panini Pete's is a legit restaurant in a funky-cool setting, not just some place on a TV show. read more

This time we tried lunch, finally, after moving to Fairhope a few weeks ago. My wife said her burger had the best flavor of any burger she has had since moving to the area and I would have to agree. The homemade chips were also fantastic. I had the muffuletta and the olive filling made it great. Plenty of meet and it was very filling. The shoestring fries I wasn't sure about until I ate them and they were great and the seasoning added much to the flavor. Our daughter also said her Panini was also great. She had the mozzarella and tomato. Sitting outside also adds to the experience. Hadn't been here in a while. I guess we haven't had much time, but Pets's never fails. The beignets are awesome and warm balls of powdered dough. They are awesome. I stuck to my usual, the chicken slider beignets and they are always great as is everything here for something so simple, plus being able to sit outside is the bomb. We brought friends here for their first time and they loved it as well. Plan on getting back in a couple of weeks for sure. read more

This was a cute little cafe which had pretty good food and I was very happy with my meal here. we did have to wait over 20 minutes to get a table because they were busy but didn't mind giving the weather was very nice. Our waitress was very friendly and very accommodating. We ended up sitting in the enclosed alcove which had lights and windows all around so it's kind of like sitting outdoors but in a garden of Sorts. We split a chicken panini. It was huge and it was very tasty. We also had their handcut Chips. Tomato soup. All good Dessert where the beignets and they were excellent. The ambience was very nice. The bathrooms were clean. Parking is on the street and there's plenty of it it's free. Price is good given the quality of the food. overall I would definitely come back and I would recommend. read more

We finally got to eat here this past Friday for lunch and it was awesome! We all got burgers and they were so juicy and delicious and perfectly cooked. Loved the "skinny fries" - they were so good. I have a gluten allergy so I ordered the gluten free bun and I have tried a whole lot of gluten free buns and NOT ONE has ever tasted this good. That is the only thing that surprised me, is that they are known for their authentic beignets but only serve them for breakfast?
