I haven't had a chance to eat in, but I've used this spot to cater for events in the area a few times and always had a pleasant experience. Easy ordering over the phone and they always take the extra time to make sure it's right and ready when you need it. They have been in the north burbs for awhile, different locations with a break in the early 2000's but kept the menu and recipes through the changes. Small version of their old place, better for takeout than dine in. The food was pretty good, but not what I consider wicked good. Although, the homemade fat noodles are pretty dang good. In fact, I recommend ordering a big pan of noodles for takeout. Just make sure you get extra sauce. They have always skimped on that. Sausage and meatballs are made in house and are pretty good too. I would give it 5 stars, but the service was slower than I can usually handle ~ 15-20 min wait for food. Still a good deal better than Original Pizza on the next block North of it. read more

Every time I'm in the Denver area I make a point of coming to Papa Frank's. I've been coming to their old location and now their new locations for years now and it never disappoints. This place has some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Everything is made in house from scratch using fresh ingredients and the friendly staff makes you feel at home. Stopped by tonight after church to try it. I like small family owned businesses. A young girl and looked like her mother were sitting at table in front. They apparently own or work there and were the only ones in the place. i sat down and ordered. The salad that came with the dinner was bagged lettuce and wasn't that good. The cheese ravioli was home made and huge. I ordered 4 for 11.95. Took half home. The sauce is way to spicy for my liking. I went to the bathroom and it was not very clean. I don't like seeing dirty bathrooms because it means the kitchen is also probably dirty. Also, there was one other young girl in the kitchen area coughing really bad. I don't like to see sick people working in restaurants. The owners didn't say hi or thank you or even really acknowledge me. Don't think I will be returning. read more

Called for carry out. They quoted us 30 minutes for pickup. I waited an additional 10 when I got there. Plus, the cashiering/dining area looks like the back of a kitchen, and there wasn't very much hand washing going on as I watched the food being prepared. I used to love this place. I genuinely wish I lived closer to Papa Frank's. The BEST homemade noodles I have ever had. The sauce has the perfect amount of spice, and it's so savory... perfect with the noodles. I have to admit, I eat red meat when I visit here. No shame in that, their sausage and meatballs are equally devilishly delicious. Such good flavor! I can never choose between sausage or meatballs. The staff is always so kind and attentive, I love meeting and seeing the family behind the business out and mixing with the public! It's a nice personal touch that makes the business feel so much more warm and inviting. Their spumoni ice cream and their pies are both delicious, as well! I've never had better spaghetti noodles. I didn't even know noodles could be so incredibly amazing. My first meal ended up being what I order each and every time - chicken parmesan with a side of spaghetti noodles. It's the perfect portion for me (a lighter eater), and I am thrilled that this place is so close to where I work. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs - and the meatballs were fantastic as well! The garlic bread is pretty good and standard. But I think this place has the best made-from-scratch Italian food I've ever had. It's not the most refined atmosphere - but sometimes that's what makes it special. read more

My fiancé and I visited Papa Frank's last weekend. He said he used to eat there often years ago, when they were at a different location, but thought they had closed the business. We were happy to see they had just moved locations at some point. It's a very small restaurant with limited seating, but definitely a nice mom and pop place--which seems to be a rarity. I liked that about Papa Frank's in itself. My fiancé ordered the all you can eat spaghetti and sausage, and I had the lasagna (twice baked style), both of which come with soup or salad and garlic toast. Wow! It was wonderful! My lasagna was full of bubbly, cheesy goodness--delicious! And there was no tough, over cooked pasta on the bottom which can happen sometimes. The sauce is very good--could maybe be a bit spicier for me. The garlic toast was excellent too--quality bread and perfectly done. My fiancé loved his spaghetti too, it had a nice thick pasta and rich lightly spiced sausage. He barely got through one plate let alone seconds, and he's a big man--so portions are generous, and you can choose the size you want. Meats and/or having your dish twice baked costs extra, which can add up, but it's still a lot of food for the price. The menu is rather limited, which is the only reason I didn't give it five stars. Service was prompt, friendly and excellent. I would definitely recommend Papa Frank's for anyone looking for a quality Italian restaurant , family owned and operated that won't break the bank! read more

First time having take-out from here and wowza! Yummy Yummy to our tummy's! My husband has eaten here several times in the past and is a huge fan of their red sauce/sausage and meatballs. The minestrone soup was equally delish and tasty. Will most certainly become a regular place for us. read more

Nasty. Went based on good reviews as we were on our way to a show at 1st Bank Center. So disappointed. Look at the condition of bowl they served my salad in. (Photo) Gagging. I wouldn't even use that to feed a stray dog. The rAvioli came out with watery plate -ugh. At least strain it before you throw it on a plate. It tasted good til i bit into eggshell. Yup homemade pasta. My dad ordered an Italian sausage. It had been previously cooked in another century and then reheated by tossing it in a deep fryer. It was completely dried out. Nasty. My nephew ordered a BLT. The bacon was black, yes black, and shattered into pieces like glass because it also had been previously cooked in another decade and tossed in the deep fryer I presume. Nasty. Their fries were home cut, however they were cooked in old oil because they were not crispy at all. They were nasty. The cashier area needs a deep cleaning. Nasty. Too bad cuz the recipes are probably great - problem is the execution. Eat somewhere else. read more

Went there to pick up the family spaghetti meal. Took it home and the sauce was so spicy, my kids could not eat it and my lips were burning. When I called to tell them, the response was "some make their sauce sweet. Ours is made with a little kick." I'm sorry, spaghetti sauce should not be so spicy your lips burned. $40 down the drain. The report that Papa Frank's is closed is in error. Ate there yesterday and had a fine dinner. Don't eat enough for their Sunday all-you-can-eat special, but their spaghetti is worth the drive! My daughter had the spinach ravioli and I got a taste--it's great too! OMG. 1st if all no welcome. Had to to say I'm here for an order I called in. We were there early, 10 or 15 minutes. 1st impression was at the front door, boxes are piled. I'm assuming they're for orders to go(beings I was a waitress for 12 years) however, they're are not that busy!!!! So, as I as seat and wait for our food the cook (assuming the owner?) is grabbing a noodles over the steam table with his hands and eats it with a slurp multiple times. Yummy! My husband has been a few times and I never had the opportunity to check this place out. I got their lunch special which was spaghetti, one meatball, and garlic bread. Really good, I love the spaghetti noodles that are really thick just mouth watering. The meatball was tender and just ok. Service not so good. The older lady taking our order -not so kind, I don't know if she smiled once. She seemed pissed off, maybe she is always like that. There was an older guy cooking, he also seemed pissed off. They might have hated how many people kept coming in, not too sure. I kinda shrugged off the service because the food was good. Anyway, that's why the lower rating, and it's very small and compact so maybe 4 tables. Would I be back? Maybe I really love this type of spaghetti, but around the corner is another amazing Italian restaurant and they were a bit more nicer it's called Original Pizza..really good Italian food but they don't take cash. read more

I am a big fan of locally owned and operated resturants. Definitely not your crummy national homogenized chain. A mom and pop kitchen that has a few tables stuffed in the back. They saw me coming in and ignored me for a while, until they run out of tables. Only then they asked if I need anything. 22 minutes passed before they served me a coke and another 20 minutes before the got me a slice of pre made lasagna. They did serve people their kind very quickly. I would suggest not coming to this place unless you are part of this ambience. Their loss. I am not sure about all the good reviews, it is a little perplexing. This place was awful, the noodles, the cleanliness of the establishment, etc. When we walked in we weren't sure if we would stay, but against our better judgement we stayed. We had our salads, which were normal salads looks like it was out of a bag. That's fine, no big deal, but as I am eating my salad the chef comes out of all the clutter in the back of the dining room carrying 4 raviolis' in his hand. Tried to act like I didn't see it as I was in denial, they brought the food to our table spaghetti with 2 meatballs and their raviolis. You can see the kitchen from the tables and the same guys who cooked our meal, is blowing his nose right by the entry way. Same hands he carried our raviolis in. The whole thing kind of grossed us out, everything besides the salad was inedible. We paid our bill and left everything on the table. Never again will we be there! read more
