You can always find seats at the Papa John's in the Windward Mall Food Court. If no seats there, the mall has numerous tables to enjoy your meal. I couldn't resist this online offer of a half off large specialty pizza. We got this Works (supreme/combination pizza) for about $18. With the online order, Papa John's allowed me to track my order so I knew that I still had time to shop before the pick up time. I remember several months ago that the pepperoni pizza was very good. Today, I used the buy 1 get a 2nd 1-topping pizza free. The free one was a pepperoni on thin crust. The crust was nice and crunchy, but I didn't see any sauce on it and the cheese was quite sparse. There was a pepperoni in every bite though. I also ordered a thin crust 2-topping pizza which was sausage and olives. The sausage was very sparse, there was a good amount of olives and no sauce that I could see except a little bit near the outer crust. I'm wondering if it was just a bad day, but it was certainly not worth the BOGO offer. I'm bummed out. I like to order "Chicago cut," as some family members prefer their pizza slice without crust. The last time, it was clearly cut into regular slices, so I didn't even bother taking the pizza. Got several slices on two different days. Pepperoni had an odd bad smell both times so didn't finish. Crust wasn't very good very doughy and oddly fell apart. Birthday lunch! My friend was hosting a birthday party for her son. She was already spending a lot on two inflatables in her backyard...you know...those bouncy houses...and one of the bouncers had a water slide! Whoa! Kiddie heaven! She wanted reasonably priced pizza, but didn't want to drive to Costco in Honolulu, so I found Papa John's at Windward Mall. There was an advertisement for $12 for an XL with two toppings. I ordered 5 pizzas with extra cheese, 5 pizzas with sausage and mushrooms, and 5 pepperoni pizzas. The manager asked if I had any coupons. My heart dropped to the floor. I wanted to cry and go home to look for some coupons. The manager sensed my distress and said he would give me a BOGO discount. I offered to order another pizza to make it an even number, but he said that he would just give me half off... $214. I thought he was going to charge me $107...I was elated and told my friend right away. She was ecstatic! On the day of the party, my friend wisely brought her wagon so we could roll the 15 pizzas through the food court. Luckily, she parked her van at the curb and we loaded the pies in...whew! However, the cashier was charging us $214. I told her that the manager was giving me half off. The cashier said that it's EITHER half off OR $12 a pizza...not both. Whaaat??? That's not what was said the day before when I made this order. My friend did the math and said that 15 pizzas x $12 + tax does not total $214. After some calculations, they ended up charging us $188. I still was in shock. I apologized to my friend for the misunderstanding and disappointment. I thought we were getting a bargain. Anyway, the pizzas were satisfactory. The children at the party were happy! The pizzas each came with a pepper and garlic butter sauce. We also got a bunch of paper plates from Papa John's...thanks! Chicken cordean blue - 4 stars - very cheesy, but a lot tastier (and higher in cholesterol and fat) when I drizzle the garlic butter on it. Pros: *Lots of parking since it is in the foodcourt of windward mall. *Can order by phone so don't have to wait and can track when pizza is ready. *Web wednesdays and other days have specials so pizza is cheap and flavorful Cons: *no selection of crust, but I like it the way it is, so I have no problem. *Hardly any wifi in the mall so I always order before entering the mall. *no drive through since in the mall, so have to walk into the mall to get it. Service - 4 stars - the first time I tried to order on the phone, I didn't know how to do it, especially since there was hardly any connection, so the cashier helped me greatly to get it. Papa Johns located in the Windward Mall was nothing special. Stopped by to grab the kids a quick snack, but quick was an understatement. The wait time on our cheese sticks was supposed to be about 15 minutes. However, it was about 40 minutes later that we were finally handed our order. The cheese sticks were ok... but nothing special. Today we ordered the double cheeseburger pappadia. Apparently it has been discontinued, however they sent the order out with just meat and cheese. We have ordered from this Papa Johns location at Windward Mall at least 2-3 times a month from the time they opened in the food court a few years ago. That's probably more than 50 interactions with them through the years and I cannot ever recall a bad experience. The quality of the food is consistently good, orders are always correct, friendly service, and very accommodating. We once had a party at the glow putt upstairs at the mall and papa johns brought our pizzas up to us with plates and napkins. Delivery always comes on time or sooner.
