Located on the corner of Homerule Street and Puuhale Road - go to the door on Homerule Street (not this door)

Pizza on Pi Day in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii... I heard about this relatively new pizza place from my friend, Donna O. I read reviews about the challenging parking situation, so, Peter Y. and I carpooled. When we got to Kirk's Pizza, I ran inside and asked where we could park. Answer: on the street. Do not park in the lot for the apartment building next door. Inside, Kirk's Pizza is amazing! I really liked the stained glass, etched glass, pizza garland, and the tablecloth on which you can practice your artistic skills! (Sharpie pens are available.) I also liked the air conditioning, the clean, bright environment, cute decor (live plant, memorabilia, maneki neko, etc.), and dining-in option (long table and four chairs). Service was excellent! The male and female staff were so nice to each customer! They were friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and conversational! Food was delicious! I had a slice of the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza - the combination of flavors was genius! The crust was thin and not mushy! Yay! I would like to return and try the other pizza creations! The price was very reasonable - I believe it was less than $10 for two slices and a can of diet Pepsi! Thanks to Peter Y. for lunch, the ride, and a fun foodie adventure!

Kirk's Pizza is like a knead to know place... Located at the industrial area of Kalihi on the corner of Puuhale and Homerule you know you're there when you see the "Pizza" feather shaped flag banner sign waving you down. The bright blue building itself is the true give away resembling a former garage with the visible service station look overhead garage doors does make you question the accuracy of what you're searching for. Entrance is on Homerule Street and for this massive building the service area is quite small with a counter cluttered with various items and pizza display you'd think pizza wasn't the main business with a basket of Easter eggs for sale (for $3/$5 inside is a coupon for deals, of course not noted) some plants, Windex bottle and dirty rag, and random condiments some are obvious a few should be labeled as he warned me about one...then it should be noted! Instead of all that nonsense clutter I wished they had a sign mentioning what kind of pizza they had and the prices of each item and especially for some like the specialty slices it would be great to know what's in it. I did come in partially at the end of the day so the slices looked pretty sad and still selling them at full prices $4-$4.50 is a choice I decided to make since I made it this way with basically park at your risk area so it's dashing from McD's or some illegal quick dash which is recommended since it's currently take out only. The whole ambiance, system and especially parking is something needs work really bad I couldn't tell you what other pizzas they had as reciting by memory doesn't work for me but I did get the Greek Pizza packed in a simple box which I ate immediately as a quick 10-15 seconds warm up was barely warm...what's in it going only by visual (pesto sauce loaded with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, artichokes, feta)...average sized slice. They need to line the box as the oil instantly leaked through, pizza itself was really good and is the first Greek Pizza I've ever have, will be back earlier next time to give them another try...I do wish them a slice day ;-) Thank you!

If you are a pizza aficionado and have been wondering what happened to J & B Pizza in the Manoa Marketplace - well, they ( at least the J in J & B) are now Kirk's Pizza on 2030 Homerule St in Kalihi. Near the McD's, driving the side streets are a hassle...finding parking is a hassle. But...for the pizza. They still offer NY style slices, thin and crispy without too much red sauce or cheese. They still offer slices...from Vegetarian to Pepperoni. And they still offer calzones. Located in, what was a glass tinting business, there are renovations to be made to include indoor seating. The exterior is painted a bright blue...so you can't miss it on the corner. Ordered two slices and a calzone - yes, I was hungry. The Greek was like the Vegetarian...which is to say, vegetarian. The main difference being the artichokes and feta. Both were excellent. Calzone had Marinara sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms, meatballs, and pepperoni. You have the option to choose from the menu board and I chose well...it was excellent. So, despite the crowded side streets and difficulty with parking...worth it Call ahead tho...I should have called but I didn't mind getting a good look inside. Some of the glass designs were...uh, well let's just say the office door glass windows had 2 frogs on them. They are open from 1100 to 1400; and during their soft opening are only taking cash. You can build your own pizza from the menu board.

May you find decent street parking if you plan on hanging out. Cute shop

Synopsis: Delicious pizza at a very reasonable price Easy to locate Near zero parking Beautiful blue building is easy to spot on the corner but good luck finding parking! It took a small amount of investigation to find the front entrance due to lack of signs but they are still establishing their business and setting up shop so it's to be expected. They are working on setting up a dine in area so that will be nice if you can find parking. Very very friend staff. I immediately felt welcomed. Slices are on the smaller side but appropriately priced. If you pay cash, you get a slight discount as there is no credit card fee. They will warm the slice back up in the oven for you so don't worry if it looks a bit chilled in the showcase. Crust is light and chewy, toppings were perfectly portioned and seasoned. Delicious! Exactly what I was hoping for in a new York style joint. As I shoveled a slice into my mouth while driving away...i felt immense regret that I didn't purchase more! This will be a regular stop IF I have someone else in the car that can drive laps around the block while I hop in for a few slices. Food and staff alone, this place gets a solid 5. However, I have to dock a star due to the amount of energy and time it took to find somewhere to pull over long enough to run into the shop. At least they are available on UberEATS! Rumor has it, door dash will be added to the list. YAY Cheers

With a grand opening on Pi Day 2023, Kirk's Pizza is half (Jason) of the former J&B Pizzeria in Manoa. Now located in Kalihi, it's easy to get to and find but difficult to find parking. They're more geared toward delivery or takeout; there's plenty of places to leave the car for a couple minutes to get your food to take home. Jason and the person on the phone were both very friendly and excited to be in business. It's located in what looks like an old shop, very open with pizza ovens in the back, counter as you walk in, and a long table area with games to the right. They do have room for dine in, but not many tables so it'd be a good idea to call before counting on a table. They have a selection of bottled and canned drinks inside as well. The pizza menu is pretty typical for a pizzeria, they have the classic ingredients for build-you-own, plus specials. The opening special was a cheeseburger pizza - ketchup & mustard base, cheese, pickles, and beef. It was unique, a little on the sweet side. We also got a plain cheese pizza. Both were well done. The only critique, the cheese used was very greasy which caused the center of the pie to be soggy and was also mouthcoating. The dough was also tough, maybe was not given enough time to rise before use - a lot of the crust was too hard to eat, which is usually my favorite part. One favorite part was the cornmeal on the bottom - a nice touch I wish more pizzerias used. As part of the opening promotion, a premium pizza is $20, or with any $30 you get free cinnamon rolls. They were sweet and with lots of cinnamon, but again were too tough to enjoy. I think with the history, positivity, and a little time to develop the pizzas themselves, this place could be great. It's worth a try to support a new local business.

    Large cheese, calzone

If you're looking for pizza in Kalihi that is made fresh to order, come here! The service was great, prices are reasonable for a non chain pizza joint. They just opened this year and relocated from Manoa! We went traditional with a large cheese pizza and not so traditional with a cheese calzone with pesto sauce. It also came with marinara on the side too. Lots of cheese inside, very generous portion. Cheese pizza was a nice thin crust, good flavor. I love that it was fresh and the service was fast and friendly. Make sure to bring cash so you don't pay the cc fee! The parking is tight but there are a few spots on the main road where it says no parking. Just call ahead and they will tell you where to park if there is no street parking. Lots of specialty pizzas too can't wait to bring my friends and try more!

The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is the parking. Too bad they cannot save spots in front of their building for their customers.

Nothing like eating huge sandwiches and the best pizza around! Our office orders takeout frequently from little g's and we absolutely love it here! You can order online but after a certain amount it requires you to phone in your order. I didn't grab a picture of everyone's food but this was the two sandwiches I got! The chicken parm is incredible stacked with 3-4 pieces of chicken parm and their red sauce with mozzarella served hot. The Italian has three different meat with cheese and lettuce and bell peppers served cold. These were served with a different grained bread which was a lil different than what we are used to but still really great! After looking over the menu options, we stood waiting for quite a while before anyone acknowledged us or took our order. The manager seemed rude and unwelcoming, which immediately set a negative tone for the visit. Looking back we should have trusted our first impression, but we decided to give it a chance and see what the hype was about. We each ordered a slice of pizza and took it outside to eat. After eating , we walked past the glass wall of the cafe and I noticed the manager handling and mixing flour with his bare hands, with the flour mixture covering his hands and forearms. I didn't expect to see food prep without disposable gloves and it made me uncomfortable. The pizza itself didn't make up for the experience. At around $22 per slice, I was expecting something exceptional or life-changing, instead, it was pretty underwhelming. The flavor, texture, and overall quality just didn't justify the premium price. Between the unfriendly service, concerns about food handling, and the disappointing pizza, I don't feel the experience was worth the cost of overpriced slices of pizza and I will not be returning nor will I recommend Little G Cafe to others. There are plenty of other pizza spots in Honolulu, including Boston's Pizza, that offer better value and a much more welcoming atmosphere.

I absolutely loved their Detroit-style pizza (now called the "square" pizza), and it used to be something I looked forward to every visit. The last time I ordered it, it wasn't quite the same, but I thought maybe it was just an off night. Unfortunately, after trying it again, I left even more disappointed. The pizza had very little pepperoni, minimal cheese, and the sauce tasted pasty rather than rich and flavorful like I remembered. What made me so sad is that this wasn't just a slight difference -- it felt like a completely different pizza from the one I used to love. I'm posting this because I truly hope they revisit the recipe or preparation, because this place has been special to me for a long time.
