This was the most humiliating, unprofessional, and downright shady food service experience of my life. Papa John's in Key West is not just bad -- it's a scam. We ordered pizza during a thunderstorm to our hotel. The person on the phone didn't even know what a Parmesan crust was, argued with me for minutes, then finally said it was "only on a large." Fine -- I ordered a large and a medium, asked for plates, napkins, and confirmed payment with the driver. I was told "pay when he gets there." After 40 minutes waiting in the hotel lobby with my family, the delivery driver arrived -- filthy, reeking, rude, and missing teeth. He shoved the pizza at me and told me he had no way to take payment. When I asked about the plates and napkins I specifically requested, he snapped "I was told nothing" and walked off. We were left sitting there stunned, calling the store over and over again with no one answering the phone. We literally sat around for nearly TWO HOURS thinking this disaster would be resolved. Instead, at MIDNIGHT, the Key West Police were at my hotel door threatening to arrest me for non-payment of $45 of pizza I had been begging to pay for. Imagine being humiliated in front of your family and treated like a criminal because this Papa John's can't manage basic service. When the police finally called the manager, magically my card -- which they had claimed was "declined" earlier -- went through without issue. Even the officers admitted it looked like a scam and told me not to use the delivery driver's personal Cash App that he tried to pressure me into. This is beyond "bad service" -- it's fraudulent, humiliating, and dangerous. No one should ever risk ordering from here. You're not just rolling the dice on cold, low-quality pizza -- you're risking being scammed, embarrassed, and having the cops knock on your door in the middle of the night over their mistakes. Well....it was 1am in Key West when we made the call for delivery. I understand when you drink a lot and it's late, you pretty much eat whatever. This was rough, even for a late night eat. I ordered a medium pizza. Chicken nuggets and breadsticks. With delivery it was $33. To be honest, it was overpriced by $25. The taste just wasn't good on anything. The breadsticks were ok but they gave us a tiny packet of sauce good enough for one of the six sticks we received. I will say they went out of their way to make a special delivery in 20 minutes as opposed to the hour wait they stated. I ended up tossing about 3/4 of it away. I ordered a pizza from the Papa johns app last night around 7:16pm for my wife and children. My order number was 848726030. I wanted contactless delivery. Around 840 I checked the app again and it said it was delivered. I went outside, checked around the house, no pizza. I called the store. the manager told me the order was voided and canceled because I didn't answer my phone. Well, no one called me, alerted me, nothing. I had no missed calls. The manager said it would take another 90 minutes to bring me my food. Not acceptable for crying children that are hungry. He then was very rude and told me I would get my refund back in about 3-5 days with no resolution to the issue. Contactless delivery to me means you dont have to contact me. I then tried calling back twice once last night and once this morning just to see if he would offer anything to resolve this so it would at least not leave as bad a taste in my mouth, well, it made the taste worse. It's a Papa John's, what else can I say? HOWEVER....I do have a major beef with how they handle their parking "permissions" for their delivery drivers. They are situated immediately adjacent to a mom and pop vietnamese/Cantonese resteraunt called Two Sisters Noodle House (5+ stars btw....not your basic " americanized Chinese food") good owners, good family, friendly ppl. HOWEVER, sister noodle only has TWO parking spots in front of their business.....papa Johns has SIX parking spots. Papa johns drivers are CONSISTENTLY occupying the 2 spots in front of sister noodle house.....thereby denying parking for their neighbor. Papa John's as a whole, local management, and the drivers themselves should be ashamed to allow this to continue......you have 6 spots and you also have routine use of the right of way along 7th ave for your transient drivers.......how about showing some support to your neighbor, and let them have the TWO parking spots in front of their business for their sit down customers. They have 10 times the volume of eat in patrons as you do.....yet 2 spots to accommodate their local supportive patrons. Do the right thing. read more

First pizza was undercooked. Was missing dipping sauces for cheese fries. I called. Spoke with an incredibly rude manager who kept repeating "what do ya want me to do?!?" And speaking over me. They sent out a replacement pizza. And dipping sauces. Again, pizza was still wrong, and dipping sauces were as well. Called back AGAIN. They need to take some customer service classes. It's not that hard to look at a screen, see what the order entails, make, box up, and double check before sending out. I did request a phone call from somebody else. The woman who called back the next day was polite, refunded my money, and repeatedly apologized. I understand, not everything goes perfectly, but come on... cooking a pizza thoroughly, sending out what the customer ordered, and being polite is not that hard. I read some of the reviews here and felt I needed to say I have never had a problem with the service or the food. The pizza tastes great and with deals every day on the phone app it's the best value in town. Pizza is half the price of those mom and pop pizza places and better tasting too. The only opportunity I see is if asking for Parisian cheese tell them a number of packets...if younjust request 'some' packets they give only two.... for a large pizza lol. He informed me that on the last time I ordered, I never picked up or paid for my food. I simply was confused as he is making these accusations , I am looking at my bank statement that states I have a charge for $28.87 on the date he said I did not pick up. Ok so I rarely would ever give five stars to a pizza joint unless this was some of the best pizza I've ever had. But this is an exception. Not the best pizza I've ever had but a good story behind why this place will always be special to me. It was also a good solid pizza that I would go back for. You may be wondering why any tourist to Key West would go to Papa Johns. I live in Columbus and I never get Papa Johns. But I landed in Key West on an extremely high anxiety level. I had signed up for the Key West Half Marathon which happened to fall on my 30th birthday. I made the horrible mistake of booking a flight that got to Key West the day before the race (in January when Midwest weather is iffy). What was I thinking?! Sure enough our flight to Miami got delayed 5 hours because the pilot "didn't show up." The AA associate told me if the flight was cancelled, I wouldn't be able to get into Key West until the next day, meaning I'd miss my race!! It was an extremely stressful five hours filled with uncertainty and constantly changing messages. I just kept praying to God that He'd somehow get me there in time for my race. After all, that was my main reason for going to Key West. And it was my birthday! Well sure enough God answered my prayers and they were able to get another pilot who flew us into Miami and then I got the last connecting flight into Key West. So when I got to Key West and checked into my hotel, I was still a bundle of nerves. It was about 8pm, I was tired and I knew I had to hurry up and eat and go to bed. I was so stressed and didn't know where to get food. I asked the guy at the hotel if there was a CVS nearby to get some bottled water and he pointed me in the direction. I knew as soon as I saw this Papa John's closeby that this would be my dinner! It was perfect! A tried and true pre-race meal full of carbs!! I was so relieved that I didn't have to get on Yelp to look for a place to eat (that's the only time you'll ever hear me say that!). My brain just couldn't handle it after the stress I had been through that day. Papa John's was such a saving grace! I went in and ordered a small pizza with extra sauce and cheese. The girl who took my order was very friendly and had a smile on her face the entire time. I gave her a heads' up that I'd be going to CVS for a few things and would be back in 5 mins. Upon returning from CVS, I waited another ten mins for my pizza. I'll never forget just sitting in that Papa John's just feeling so incredibly relieved and grateful that I made it to Key West! After the trials of the day, it seemed surreal! As I sat there, I listened to the staff chat with each other. It felt like they were enjoying each other's company and joking around. You could tell they were having fun, even on a Saturday night at work. When the associate gave me my pizza, I took it and headed back to the hotel. I actually only ended up eating half of it (can't over indulge too much before a race!). But it really hit the spot and was exactly what I was looking for! Oddly enough, I actually ended up having an Uber driver during my trip and when I asked him what he did he said he managed the Papa John's on Truman Ave! I was so excited to tell him I had been there. After chatting with him, I was even more glad that I went. He was super nice and a true family man. The mission statement they have posted on their wall in the restaurant came to life after speaking to him. So like I said, I will always have a special place in my heart for this Papa John's for making dinner easy on what was probably one of the most stressful days of my life! I don't even know where to start! I tried ordering over the phone someone would pick up then hang up. You'd call back and the phone would be off the hook. When you do talk to someone it's like customer service only exist on another planet! The personnel working there do not acknowledge you at all until they get ready to do so. One of my orders was with sausage. I kid you not they put two pieces of meat on each slice! I ordered a pizza last night ( Hawaiian ) . I got a pepperoni pizza and immediately called and informed management of the wrong item. After being placed on hold twice I was told they would remake a pizza and deliver it. I specifically asked what I was to do with the pepperoni pizza and the response was I don't care, eat it throw it away whatever. There were also negative comments about the delivery driver from the management. Upon receiving the next pizza I was asked for the wrong pizza- the pepperoni which had been given the to a homeless person. The driver called and began speaking in another language. I was handed the phone and spoke with the same person and reminded her of what she had told me approximately thirty minutes earlier. I asked for a refund of money and was told to keep the pizza.
