I tried Ben's Boyz for the first time this week, and I was pleasantly surprised. I was aware that…read morethey had started as a food truck, but the brick and mortar store was fairly new. I had stop by earlier only to find that they had closed early, so check their hours first. The ordering process is reminiscent of the food truck: you order and pay at the counter and they call out your name when it's ready. If you eat inside you just take a seat. If you order to go or (as I did) eat at one their outside tables, you stand by It was fairly busy on the Saturday afternoon, so the wait was about 20 minutes, but the order taker was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We ordered the fires wing plate with potato salad and okra, served with your choice of cornbread or roll. We also ordered it flounder and shrimp plate with collards and Mac and cheese and cornbread (as a Southern boy, you have to have cornbread with collard greens). For drinks, we had sweet tea, which was served in unmarked but sealed bottles. The wings were freshly fried, cooked perfectly, and the sides were very good. The flounder had a few tiny bones, but was generous, freshly prepared and very good. The shrimp were fine, too. Good collards and Mac and cheese, and the cornbread was good, too. It had sugar in it, but wasn't overly sweet. Prices were reasonable, the food was very good. I'd definitely consider them for a future visit. Aside from the fairly long wait for the food, the experience was good. You might want to check out the daily specials (see the attached photo). I have mixed feelings about tipping when the only person you interact with is the one who takes your order and takes your money, especially when presented with a touchscreen that implies percentages over 20%, but there was a small army of staff behind the counter, so I assume the tips are shared and all of them were obviously working hard. Whether it's called "comfort food," "soul food," or "Southern food," this is a solid entry in the Greensboro area.

I got takeout as I was tired and just wanted to get to my hotel. However the inside of the restaurant was nice large and clean. Pros & Cons: the meat loaf meal was delicious. I got collard greens and mac and cheese as my side and loved it. Portion size was a lil small but for the price I guess that's why. Red sauce is a winner and the chicken I can't be sure as I didn't eat it bc I didn't want to get food poisoning.

I love that you can order a head on his website to cut down the wait. Everything is prepared fresh so your food may take 20-25 minutes. I got the "Munch Chops" Meal. It comes with 2 sides. The only thing missing was some bread. There are 2 nice size center cut pork chops and they were tender and seasoned to perfection. He just knocked my favorite place out of their spot as the best fried pork chop in Winston. The mac and cheese looks old school but did taste like it may have a hint of sour cream. I personally prefer it without. It was still good but not my preference. The fried okra is seasoned and cooked well and I appreciated them being packaged separately. My OCD was in heaven. I definitely plan to frequent again and try some of the other dishes such as bowls and entrees. Stop by and get you some good soul food.

The Salmon bites were very moist and flavorful. The Lamb Chops are very tender, very juicy , flavorful and most importantly, not overcooked. The Brussels are tender and perfectly spiced. Savoury Eats Kitchen is a gem and the perfect complement to Hidden Gate Brewing right next door…read more The setup could not be better. Amazing beer inside the brewery and this eclectic, flavor-packed menu just steps away. Every dish we tried was outstanding. The chimichurri steak frites, tuna poke nachos, and onion rings were all bursting with fresh, creative flavors. It's rare to say that one dish after another keeps topping the last, but that's exactly what happened here. The owner clearly knows his craft and it shows in every bite. As of this review, they're temporarily closed until approximately November 1, 2025, but I cannot wait for them to reopen. When they do, this will absolutely be a go to spot for food that matches the energy and fun of Hidden Gate Brewing.

It's a food truck that's in partnership with the Hidden Gate Brewing. My order was placed at 4:16pm for honey garlic wings with truffle fries. I was given a buzzer to alert me when my food was ready. The buzzer went off at 4:25pm. I was given a side of the honey garlic sauce since I didn't get ranch or blue cheese. I also asked for cheese on top of my fries. Staff were helpful and great! I sat at a table to enjoy my food. The wings were perfectly cooked and I I enjoyed the fries. I even dipped them in the honey garlic sauce. For me, the sauce was more honey than garlic, which I didn't like. I would've preferred the opposite, if a balance between the two wasn't achievable. 9 piece wings and fries for under $14? That's a steal! I highly recommend them. I plan to return and I'd like to try a different wing flavor and/or another menu items. Several menu items piqued my interest. Apparently, this place is a favorite with some of my friends as well! As I'm doing this review, I'm wanting dessert. I definitely want to try the beignets.

I had the Wed special turkey with stuffing and cranberry . It was fresh and I enjoyed it but the side of fried zucchini with ranch dressing was the star. I started with the orzo tomato spinach soup with feta ($3.99). I wasn't sure what to expect as I get a pasta salad done similarly but I can tell you that I was highly impressed with the tomato based broth, the depth of the broth, creamy consistency of the orzo and pieces of fresh spinach. A side of crumbled feta accompanied it to toss in - and it definitely added to the flavors!!! I originally came here for the fried catfish - and it did not disappoint! Two pieces of fish, two sides (collards and broccoli cheese) and hushpuppies was $16.99. I had originally gotten the squash but I'm not a fan of breaded and fried. My server was gracious and let me swap it out. My service was quick, my server was the absolute sweetest and I'm already trying to figure out my next visit!

From the minute we walked in, we were greeted promptly and seated at our reservation time. They even had handbag clips to put on the edge of the table so we didn't have to put our purses on the floor - loved that! Everything we ordered tasted so good! We got the Rice Paper Tacos as appetizers. They came out looking like art on a plate and they were very gracious to tell us that there's not a wrong way to eat it. I got the Korean BBQ Beef as my entree and it hit the spot! My friend got the Modern Tuna Nicoise as her entree and it looked too pretty to eat, but she said it was delicious! For dessert we got the Passion Fruit Panna Cotta. It was the best way to end the night. We enjoyed our meals and the service was top-notch! Ambiance was nice-we sat in the outdoor area and they had a nice simple table display with a small table lamp that I was intrigued by. I'd never seen one so small but what I liked about it was that it didn't take up space on the table. Usually, the displays take up more space than the food sometimes, so I appreciate the little details. If you've never been to Betty on Burke-you must! I was very pleased with my experience and will definitely come back. PS- they validate parking so you don't have to pay the 3rd party parking system in their lot- HUGE plus!

We came here because it was rated highly on Yelp and near the old interstate we were driving on. Why not:)!? Korean barbecue bowl was good with some nice chilled cucumbers. Salty for my taste. Not my favorite place ever but very solid.
