    Garlic Cheese Bread...
    Scott W.

So your favorite Yelp correspondent can now claim that he's experienced all sides of Papa Pie and the so called Daddy of local pizza parlors. To paraphrase an old Clint Eastwood film, here's the good, bad and ugly of Papa Pie... The Bad- As a part time Uber Courier, I've made a pair of deliveries from Papa Pie and both times experienced first hand what other Yelpers have justifiably yelped about... Interminably long wait times of 15-20 minutes AFTER my arrival to the restaurant. Unacceptable given that Uber Eats orders are supposed to be ready within a couple minutes, tops, of when I get my notification of the gig. Doubly bad because these wait times cause my "prorated hourly earnings" to nosedive faster than a Nipponese fighter pilot at Pearl Harbor AND because at this point only my personal honor and integrity "to complete the mission" compel me to carry out each delivery. [Note: Uber drivers are given an opportunity to cancel late restaurant orders when the restaurant is to blame] On both of my deliveries, I noticed a plethora of younger, teenaged employees largely milling around, faces buried in their phones and paying little to no attention to incoming orders on Papa Pie's Kitchen Delivery System (KDS) screen. Both times I distinctly noticed how both of my client's orders hadn't even been presented to the KITCHEN before my arrival. A noticeable and candidly galling breakdown in training and work flow that can and should be addressed, stat. The GOOD?! My personal experience with Papa Pie this past Monday night was very good. I was jonesing for well made Italian pizza and had placed my order for a ten-inch BBQ Chicken pie w/ a side of garlic cheese bread when I accepted an 18-mile delivery from a rival Cucina to Rancho Cucamonga. Nonplussed and determined to preserve my order, I asked the lady behind the counter if they could keep my food in the warmer 'til I returned in around an hour. I subsequently returned 55 minutes later to find my food sufficiently warm. When I tore into it at the house, the pizza was very good, a rock solid 4 stars. Ditto for the cheesy, garlicky breadsticks. The lone reason I've deducted a star is because of personal preference for the sweeter crusts employed by California Pizza Kitchen and Papa John's. Papa Pie's crust is sufficiently thick, crusty and doughy ... but just lacks that slight honey wheat imbued sweetness that a pair of his rivals utilize. The restroom was suitably clean and stocked and my order cost me $23.47 incl taxes.

amazing recipe! oh my, i ordered a large pepperoni pizza and the quality is amazing! the crust is fresh and crispy, and the sauce is a wonderful tomato mix. the cheese and toppings were so fresh and delicious. i was surprised at the quality of the ingredients, soooo good i would very much recommend papa pizza pie!!!

Ordering from the menu board when I got the bill it was more than what the board said it should be . I asked about the cost and the girl said that the prices up on the board were old . I asked to get a refund because I was paying for the prices that were on the board not knowing what the new prices were . She said that she could not do that and there wasn't a manager there to help me . The girl was extremely rude , constantly on the phone , and very unaccommodating .

The pizza was so good, I love the sauce and the crust was light and crispy. The lady at the register was nice and helpful. It's a roomy place with a few big TVs on the wall. Order and than sit. Great place for pizza, I can't wait to try the sandwiches.

Pineapple and cheese pizza (I screwed up the order and put the Canadian bacon on my other pizza) but still they hooked it up with the pina.

2nd time coming here...one of my favorite local-ish pizza places. They are very generous with toppings and cheese. Crust is fluffy and crunchy. They had a current deal of 2 med 2 topping pizzas and a 2 liter for $23.99 or something like that. Either way not a bad deal especially for the quality. My wife loved their antipasto salad that thing came in fully loaded. Ready time wasn't long either like 15 min on a Friday night !

A better pizza? I haven't found one yet. Best of all, they do a great gluten free crust. Paired with their above average toppings and you get a really good GF pizza that doesn't feel like a compromise. My family loves their regular crust also.

Just threw away $55 of food. The person who delivered my food was messy looking and didn't say a word (that I could recall). All I could think about was, is my food ok. Call the store asking if the delivery person was their employee, thinking they might be a DoorDash type. The store assured me that he was their employee. Too many good pizza places just need to look around.

    Angel Hair Pasta

Parking: Plenty of parking spaces. Great place to eat with groups and family. Angel Hair Pasta: Angel hair pasta tossed with tomatoes and basil topped with mozzarella cheese. There's a lot of noodles but overall the dish was bland compared to Cheesecake Factory. I would recommend ordering other dishes like their chicken Alfredo or pizzas.

OMG...I lived a half block from an amazing pizza spot in Downtown Boston back in 2006. I've been waiting for anything even close to that level and today is the day. We got 3 kinds tonight. Cheese for the kids, heirloom tomato slice and a slice of Jalapeño Prosciutto. Topped it off with the most crisp Cesar salad and some ranch dressing. Bottom of the pizza had a crispy crust and the most amazing flavors. Even my kids said it was the best pizza! Should have gotten a picture of the heirloom tomato pizza. This was the best pizza I have had in almost 20 years.

Amazing pizza with great taste and fresh toppings. The crust was perfect, the service was friendly, and everything was delicious. Definitely coming back!

Yummy bbq chicken pizza. Pretty cheesy. Boyfriend got the pickle pizza. We also go ribs. Didn't taste the best but it was at the end of the day. But I would get the pizza again.

Ask the Community - Papa Pizza Pie

Are they open for dine in?

Yes, but they didn't wait on us at our table. We ordered our food and took it to our table.

Is it true that you got rid of the Yelp check-in offer? Because it's still visible on Yelp.

I asked about the check in offer last time I went a couple weeks ago and they said it was only valid on Dine-in. Since no one can dine in, I suppose we can't use it until things open up again.

I saw in uber it says halal?

Yes we do have halal options. If you have any question please feel free to call the store at 714-278-4448

    Is there buffet?

Yes there is a daily lunch buffet which includes salad bar, pizza and pasta. Kudos to the Salad Bar and I'm lukewarm about the pizza and pasta.

Any menu items that are gluten free and vegan?

They have a nice variety of vegan and gluten free options from pizza to pasta and including desserts.

We ordered the pizza, chicken parmesan, and pesto pasta, and every single dish was outstanding. The pizza was delicious, the chicken parm was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the pesto pasta was absolutely incredible. You can tell they put a lot of care into their food. What really made the experience special, though, was the kindness of the people who work there. I placed a to-go order and arrived early, expecting to just wait outside, but they welcomed me in, offered me water, and made me feel completely at home. Since I had my baby with me, they even helped carry my order out to the car. That level of genuine kindness is rare these days. Great food is one thing, but great food paired with genuinely wonderful people is what makes a place unforgettable. I've been here quite a few times and Friday July 3rd was the first time I was highly disappointed with them. I get it, they were busy with the festivities happening down the street but I understand now why they have a help wanted sign in their window. From the time we sat down it took them well over 10 minutes to get our drinks, we had to remind them to bring our drinks, another 10 minutes from taking our drink order to even take our food order, and they came by to refill our water glasses during that time but never even bothered to ask if we wanted refills on our drinks after we had to remind them to even bring our drinks. I ordered the half and half plate and the cheese raviolis were still chewy. We all had spaghetti as the half and half comes with it and they didn't disclose to any of us that the meatballs would be extra after asking us if we wanted meatballs with our spaghetti. We just all assumed ok maybe it's included. I know it's been a bit since I've been there but so much has changed and that's kind of a bummer because I really used to enjoy them

This is a welcoming breath of fresh air when a lot of brunch spots have hours long waitlists or need to book reservations weeks in advance. This brunch spot features large portions at good prices, though now it is okay prices given they surcharge extra 40 cents per egg so each dish will cost $1-2 more so it can add up. We got the breakfast burrito, pork belly sandwich, pork belly hash, and steak and potato. The breakfast burrito is pretty large and hearty, with a good amount of eggs and potatoes. The pork belly sandwich has lots of sauce but the pork belly is still fairly crispy and hearty. The salad on the side was okay. The pork belly hash features crispy pork belly with a boat load of potatoes, along with spinach, caramelized onions, and roasted bell peppers. There was probably 8 pieces of pork belly so it is okay portions compared to a very hefty amount of potatoes. I love the flavor of the pork belly and how nice they made the egg over easy. The steak and potato was okay. Steak was overcooked though it was still tender. Yet again there was a hefty amount of potatoes. We also got nutella bomboloni which is a fried donut. They do it differently as the nutella is placed on top. The bombolonis I am familiar with have stuffing inside and optionally sugar outside. This was a bit sweet but it was fairly low commitment as it was $3.50. Service is decent as they check up on you a few times. I wished they gave less ice for water as the water refills were iced water too, so each refill you get less and less of actual water as ice accumulates in the cup. Food-wise, if you like the greasy spoon type of brunch spots here, then you will like it. I am more a quality over quantity person, so this was just okay of an experience for me. They just stuff lots of breakfast potatoes to make the dish filling, but in itself you are not getting that much more value than any other sit-down restaurants.

We would have sat in the bar, but there was a large group scheduled in there, so we sat in the dining room. Next time we'll try the bar room. The things that stood out were their delicious, rich sauces. The flavors were spot on. They cook their pasta perfect to my family's taste, with a bite (al dente), but done enough that it's not chewy or floury. Fair prices. And yummy desserts. We really enjoyed the tasty Crab Cake app. We all liked our pasta, particularly me, who had the Mushroom Ravioli with the same sauce that comes on the Beef and Mushroom Ravioli. I think there was a Mushroom Ravioli special with a different sauce, but they did it with the sauce I really wanted to try, which was much appreciated! We enjoyed the Spumoni pie--Spumoni ice cream with a graham cracker(?) pie crust. They also made us a traditional Affogato, because that's what my dad likes. But I want to try their version next time. I'm really excited to go back and try their pizza. We'll get one with sausage, since the sausage on my dad's pasta was really outstanding. The host was a gentleman and was welcoming and very friendly. We were taken to our seats right away, having reservations. We were lucky enough to have Catherine as our waitress, and she was an absolute delight in always. We started with wine, their focaccia bread with a delicious pickled relish, and the arugula salad, which was incredible. And that's where the wheels fell off the bus. To my own fault and sincere regret, why would I order anything but Italian food in an Italian restaurant, especially when Italian food is my absolute favorite. But no, we took the side route and my wife ordered the pork chop and I fell on the trap of ordering the ribeye steak. Will start with a pork chop that was just pretty good. And that's my wife's favorite protein dish so that's saying a lot. As for the ribeye, I was asked if I wanted it medium rare which of course absolutely that's the standard. However, when it came, I instantly knew this was going to be a bad piece of steak. It was all of about 3/8 of an inch thick and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. Sure enough I cut into it and it was absolutely dead gray and the taste was just the same. The taste was just mediocre at best and rather than make a big thing about it and return it I just powered through. After all, there's only so much you can do with a 38 inch ribeye. As an expert in meat grilling, even though it was a $28 steak, I would completely drop it from the menu because it's just not worthwhile at all. Otherwise get a 1 inch prime cut and charge $45 and make that a winner. As for dessert, how could I not order the homemade tiramisu and I was glad we did. It was perfection. So, will we be back? Yes, we will for two reasons. One, we loved the ambience and setting along with our server. Too, we intend to try what we would hope to be their strong suit, which is the pastas. We're not fish lovers at all so forget all of that, we'll go for the mainstream pasta dishes, and hope that they can restore our feelings for this gem of a restaurant.
