Being sooo hungry after having to stop by Fry's, we wanted to try this place out and from the looks of it, it was packed, new, and clean. We placed our order for 2 kids pho, 2 pork rice dishes, curry special of the day, and soft shell crab roll. For a Thurs lunch, they were packed and no one was cleaning the tables off so I had to ask the counter to please clean the table so we can sit. Oh probably 20 minutes later, the kids pho came out and the kids loved it. I didn't try it but hey, if they're slurping it up, I'm happy. Then Oh another 10-15 minutes before the rice and curry dishes arrive. Flavor was OK, nothing out of the ordinary. Another few minutes before the crab roll came out. Now, shouldn't this come out first? Where's the crab? $8 for this? Badly rolled, and I kept biting into some wonton cripsy crunch that wasn't crab. I swear there was no crab in it. If you crave Vietnamese food happen to be in the neighborhood with LOTS of time to spare, it's an OK place to go. Perhaps they're very green and just need time to get things on track. I love the atmosphere in this restaurant!! The food is absolutely delicious and delightful. Highly recommended oxtail pho, chicken rice iron pot, and lychee thai tea !!! Our server today was Joann, she did a really phenomenon job on her people skill and customer service. Not only she care about her customer ( myself and myfriend) but also she pay attention on if anything wrong with food. She always smile and make me welcome when I come to the restaurent. Im empress of how she taking care of me and other customer even though it was an rush hour. Overall, with a great restaurant comes with great product and great services and for sure, this restaurant has this 2 quality. With my seven years of business and leadership experience, I found that this restaurant is so lucky to have such a great manager (Hien). Im amaze by his leadership skill, taking care and lead the restaurant. He always making sure that everything is ok with custumer and restaurant. Rudest employees EVER!! I gave them my debit card to pay. Payment went through, i get notifications when any transactions go though and it showed it got approved well they kept sliding my card 5 more times. Then demanded i pay again even though my bank showed the first payment was good. Then the whole time they were rude, wouldn't even apologize, and then glared at me when i didnt give them a tip! Not even 15 min later i called them asking for all the receipts so i can show my bank and first he makes the biggest sigh, EVEN though I was being very nice saying please and thank you still he guy calls me a bitch under his breath! If you want to call someone a bitch make sure the phones away from your ear. After I went in to grab the receipts i wanted to get the guys name but he kept walking away.... I cant believe anyone would disrespect a customer this way, my family owns a restuarant and this would have NEVER EVER happen there. PLUS papayas food was nasty and tasted off. I am a regular customer that comes for lunch almost every week because I work at boeing. There is a girl sever I think her name is thao that have been very rude everytime I come in. Today is the worse when she threw the menu in front of me then when come back she took order of everyone in my table except me. I have emailed and let the owner know. The owner (or the supervisor) 's response is even worse. Instead of asking/ training his employees on being better in customer service, he excuses for their attitude by accusing me of being difficult to his employees, which is not right. We didn't come in to eat for free; we paid the price in full without any disturbing or ridiculous demand. They lost us as regular customers, since it sounds like there won't be any change in the way she treats people like this - without manner. They need to understand a business can only be successful and last long if it's based on the formula of Quality + Customer service. read more

Papaya in Renton was an okay spot for a casual meal. We were a party of two and tried the coconut chicken and the grilled lemongrass pork chops with a fried egg. The flavors were decent, and the portions were fair for the price. The coconut chicken was nice and creamy, though it could've used a bit more seasoning. The pork chops were tender, but the dish felt a little underwhelming overall. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Not bad if you're in the area and craving Vietnamese-inspired dishes, but not necessarily a go-to destination for us. read more

Food is pretty decent, place is clean, friendly service. The pho costing 9.00 mentioned by the other patrion is actually oxtail pho, which is not offered anywhere else. Hot Pho excellent? Not really. Comparing Hot Pho to Papaya is like comparing apples to oranges. Hot Pho is located next to a gas station. Papaya is located in a premier shopping center, right across from the Regal movie theater at the Landing. It's so hard to find such an authentic pho place here in Seattle. The pho broth was just perfect, love the amount of meat they provide as well. Other dishes are delicious too. I love their grilled pork skewers noodle salad with that sweet fish sauce, so good! They offer wide range of drinks also from bubble tea to beer and wines. But honestly service here is my favorite. The worst pho ever! I ordered a large chicken pho to share with my 5 yr old which i always do at other pho restaurants. They have the smallest portion. And the broth was crazy salty. I was do surprised how people eat it and leave good reviews. I love pho like crazy and i have tried many places in washington and other states and even other countries. This is the worst one and I'm serious. They are not cheap and like i said very small portion. My 5yr old could finish a large one. Never come back here again. read more

I'm so happy this restaurant has opened again for dine in; and they do follow all the rules and cautions to protect their employees and customers! Love their Dlite option. In my opinion, it actually brings out more flavors to the dishes. I enjoy the zucchini noodles so much. My server also suggested to substitute brown rice for my steak cube rice dish(w/$2 extra) and I'm so glad he did. Be sure to try their bubble tea selections too, the avocado smoothies is so good. Decided to give them a shot after passing by several times. Don't want to sound too pedestrian, but tried the fried rice (specifically the Basil Fried Rice) and it was perfect. Lot's of hot teas to select and my favorite Thai Iced Tea was delicious. My wife is a vegetarian and she had the fresh spring rolls. She declared this is her new favorite place. I must say, I am surprised at all of the negative reviews on here! My husband and I have been frequenting Papaya ever since we moved to the Renton area Last year. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the tofu coconut spring rolls! Also, the tofu baguette with yam fries is so delicious. The waiter there even remembers my order and has my Sake2Me ready to go when I sit down! Very disappointing experience. The service was extremely slow even though the restaurant wasn't busy. The staff stayed at the front desk glued to their phones, and the server only came back when he thought we were finished. The food was poor, the stew was overly thick and soggy, and the skewers my friends ordered were burnt. To make it worse, the booths and floors were dirty, and the place felt neglected. Second, The broth is not any like a pho broth should be, it's kinda sweet and not like any good pho I ever had (and I eat it a lot). The best pho place in Renton! I am from little Saigon California and I've had a lot of Pho in my life-this restaurant has the best broth! Order with an fresh egg in the broth and you will see what I mean. I give this place 5 stars because it simply is the best one in the Renton area. My daughter's favorite is the shrimp tomato noodle soup, and I am a sucker for the Pho. We always order a starter of fresh rolls, which are always fresh :) Thumbs up and would highly recommend! read more

Best bowl of PHO I have ever had. They make their beef broth from scratch, it cooks forever, and is unbelievably flavorful. Clean sprouts, nice basil, quality condiments. Seriously, give it a shot. I work in Belleuve and will drive out of my way to grab lunch there. read more
