An Evening--unexpected--yet precise. Paperfish is not merely a place to dine-- it is a quiet unfolding--of texture, of taste--of pause. Each plate arrives--like a small revelation-- delicate--intentional--undisturbed. The sushi--exceptional. Not loud--but certain. Freshness does not announce itself--it lingers-- in the softness of the rice--the clean finish of each bite. There is an intimacy--to the space-- a dim-lit hum--where conversation softens-- and time--loosens its grip. Service--attentive, without intrusion-- as if they understand-- that moments like these--should not be rushed. One leaves--slightly altered-- not full--but fulfilled

Every bite was fantastic--I'm still dreaming about the black cod bites. The torched salmon aburi was truly melt-in-your-mouth, and the hand rolls reminded me so much of KazuNori in NYC. The fish ceviche was also excellent and incredibly fresh. My one downside was the sake situation. We ordered a bottle, only to be told it wasn't available--this happened three separate times before we finally gave up and asked for three glasses of whatever sake they actually had. That felt like a clear miss on the procurement/inventory side. That said, the space itself is very cool. The interior is covered in collage-style artwork, there's a massive faux tree structure in the center of the room, and a projector playing visuals that really adds to the vibe. Overall, amazing food and atmosphere--just wish the beverage execution matched the rest of the experience.

First time coming to Paperfish and I feel like it was a bit overhyped. I came here with my cousin for a drink and some appetizers and was not impressed by any of it. For starters, we did not see the restaurant until we turned the corner while looking for parking because it looks like it's in an alleyway between other buildings and businesses. We found street parking about half a block away (pay by phone of course). The restaurant does not offer valet and I am unsure if the spaces in front of the restaurant are paid parking or if it's for another business. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the servers were nice and very attentive. They were quick to serve us our drinks and first 2 appetizers, and they cleared the tables quickly when we were done with a dish or drink. However the last appetizer took a bit longer to arrive. Sadly, I was not impressed by the food or drinks, and there was not one thing I ordered that would bring me back to the restaurant. I may have been anticipating coming to this restaurant for so long and expected too much, or maybe the things we ordered are not the things that the restaurant is known for. I would much rather go to another sushi spot.

We came here on a semi busy Friday night for some sushi. We ordered the baby corn, the jalapeño sushi and the Wagyu. I didn't realize that with the wagyu that you basically have to cook it yourself. you have to be quick because the actual hot stove cools off within a few minutes, so it felt a little rushed to eat it since we were sitting outside. I wish we were more about that prior to ordering. The sushi was really good. It was a little bit spicy, but still great. The baby corn was great. It was very unique and very well seasoned. I was also really happy with the shrimp that we got. It was perfectly coated in a sauce.

Order the acevichado roll, you will not regret it!!! It's my favorite sushi roll in Miami! The crispy rice is amazing as well and everything else we ordered! My friends suggested this place for a happy hour on a Friday evening. I got there a little earlier than they did and sat at the bar and was handed the menu for the Miami Spice month. It looked good, but I really wanted to try the happy hour menu my friends spoke of. So I had to ask for it. My friend arrived shortly after and we ordered drinks from it. The drinks not only were delicious, but also very appealing to the eye. The bartender was a little inattentive. She was on her phone for a long time, and genuinely I really don't care, but I clocked it because we were one of the only group sitting there, and there was two of us, and then there was another person sitting by themselves, and we constantly were trying to have to get her attention. However, a second bartender arrived within 15-20 minutes and really turned the night around. We ordered a lot of sushi off the happy hour menu and all of it was amazing. So overall, this is a solid place for sushi and an adequate place for happy hour.

Beautiful restaurant with a great vibe and fresh food! My friends and I shared the omakase, which was beautifully presented. It was more like a sushi boat vs the omakase one-by-one experience we may be more used to in the area but it wasn't a disappointment considering the presentation. The fish tasted super fresh and I especially loved the roll they included. Diego did a great job, offering helpful suggestions on food quantity in terms of what would be shareable for a party of 4. He was super attentive and offered great suggestions.

Bogo spicy tuna roll on Grubhub? Yes, please! I ordered two along with a miso soup, and it made the perfect meal. The rolls had just the right amount of heat, and the fish tasted incredibly fresh. No complaints here. I'd definitely order again or even stop by in person!

Went for happy hour but it was almost over the server was nice enough to let me order two drinks and appetizers 4mins before happy hour was over. The drinks were very delicious and the ambiance was very nice. Was able to order Acevichado that was 10/10 the flavors burst into your mouth!! As for the Hamachi Jalapeño it was okay I wouldn't order it again it was lacking flavor. Overall it was a great night out.

This was for sure some of the best sushi I have ever had. We made reservations but did not really need them because it was pretty empty on a Sunday night. Service was very fast and we got our food within 20 minutes of being seated. Everything is so fresh and flavorful! Additionally, they have an amazing happy hour until 7pm. 5 pieces of sushi are $8 during the happy hour. they also have a few drink options on there for only $8. I highly recommend anything on the menu and would definitely dine here if you like sushi!

I've been to Paperfish dozens of times since I've moved to Brickell. It's been my go to sushi spot, and have highly recommended it to friends and co-workers to try out (and have previously left 5-star reviews). On Saturday (3/7) we ordered Salmon Furai from Uber Eats, and it arrived with it raw (I wish I had a picture but took it directly in the Uber app for a refund). Never in all our Salmon Furai orders has it been raw, and it is not starred as raw on their menu. I was going to give Paperfish the benefit of the doubt since restaurants can have bad days, but on Sunday (3/8) placed another order for Salmon Furai since we did not get to enjoy Saturdays, and left a comment to please make sure it is cooked. Making sure it is cooked does not mean burning it to a crisp as you can see in the attached photo. I'm not sure if Vida and Estilo is a new food group that bought Paperfish out, but back to back nights with serious food quality issues when I've never previously had an issue is concerning to say the least. Next time, we'll be going to Osaka.

This restaurant is simply amazing. When we walked in we were greeted and seated right away next to beautiful cherry blossoms. The ambiance was just right for a date night. The attention to detail in the interior design created a perfect experience but that was not all because as the food came out I was impressed dish after dish. Our server Antonio was friendly and attentive. The manager Joyce introduced herself and made great suggestions. We ended up ordering more than we planned. The most unacceptable experience ever , ordered 4 quick items due to a time crunch , one item came immediately (off to a great start ). My drink was made and sat on the bar for 15 min in my line of view while some employees got other drinks and left mine and others where on their phone. My last two items never came and had to asked them to be removed from my check. Food 10/10 Server 10/10 Manger that made us move tables as we were waiting on our last dish ....0/10. The way she approached us was extremely unprofessional and made the end of our night uncomfortable. Her words were" excuse me can I ask you a question?" We need you to move so we can set up for a large party. I can comp a round of drinks or something". We said no problem smiled and moved. Then she never came to check on us at the new table, the party she set up hadn't even shown up by the time we left. At the new table, we received our last dish, ordered another drink and dessert. NOTHING on the check was comp. And honestly after spending 400 dls on this place, it wasn't about getting something free, is the feeling that we were less than your party that didn't show up. We came to Paperfish for my dad's 60th birthday and had the best time! I had the Wasabi martini and the gyoza to start (both great). We tried various nagiri. Each was a different experience, they were like eating different flavors of salty fish candy. My dad said it was like nothing he'd ever had before. I like the salmon flavored with lime the best. The tuna tataki was also a show stopper along with the black cod. Our waiter Rami was patient, attentive and personable. He helped us celebrate by ending our night with Sake and an awesome cream brûlée dessert which was delicious. The presentation and decor was tasteful and memorable, with pink cherry blossom trees being the main feature. Overall, Paperfish was excellent. It was delicious, beautiful and unique. 4 stars Decor 3 stars Service, our server was nice, attentive and fast. See below. 3 stars teamwork, as I said our server was very nice. But two different servers tried to "steal us" as they said. One of them as she said to her guest at the nearest table, I stole you from another server. 2 Stars food. A few items where good, especially the ceviche. But specialty nigiri misses the mark. The chicken dish is pathetic, the crispy rice was ice cold, and any menu items that said truffle had zero truffle. I heard a lot of hype for this place. Tried it out on a Sunday night. They were busy but not to the level we got. Anyway long story short. The sushi normal. But the wait for it was too long. And hour and change. Sushi doesn't really take that long to come out it's not like I ordered a well done steak. And the service was lacking ... we spent 4 hours on a Sunday night and the server must have passed by to check on us 2 times. I'm not to review attitude so I don't care about their stoic demeanor. But I do care about time of service and food quality. The place is in a great area I think if they improve their just menu it would be fire. read more

Just dined for the first time as a new local resident to Brickell. I enjoy the atmosphere, happy hour menu (4-7pm). The drink and food menu is good but not amazing. Good value overall and good for fun large groups. I can't speak for all of the staff but my server Yurllen was great at giving recommendations and the runners and expo did a great job dropping and clearing plates. The food wasn't amazing but it did the job and the pricing was accurate. I will come Back for sure. read more

Disney priced drinks without the Disney customer service. Do I want to come back? Yes. Am I going to be picky with the vibes coming from the bartender and chose who to go to? Also yes. Hopefully, I can increase the rating.

The mix of flapping gums and mixologists concocting cocktails made for a cacophonous distraction from the actual "music" we were there to "listen" to. My ladyfriend and I ducked out across the street to Black Market Miami Bar where the game was on and you could actually order a drink that didn't cost $50+. After a few libations, we headed back to Miami Sound Machine Bar (they need to put 'Miami' in every bar's name down here in case you forget where you are). There was a weird looking guy playing depressing vinyls with singing in different languages. I was more in the mood for something upbeat and groovy like salsa or merengue that I could dance to with my girls. Although I did hear the 12" Andrew Weatherall remix of Happy Mondays "Hallelujah" at some point, a staple at the Haçienda nightclub in Manchester - an institution that shook the music world and changed club culture forever. The head servant at the bar looked like Nirvana (yes, one man looking like a whole band). He was jaded and rude. I don't blame him! As the night wore on, the crowd got larger and more deplorable, and the room got smaller and smaller. I got stuck in an awkward conversation waiting to use the bathroom. I don't think sound bars are for me. Pros: The bar across the street had really fair drink prices, and the servants are polite and efficient. Cons: the ratchet yuppies that inhabit Miami's nightlife, always on the prowl to ruin a subculture with their tackiness.

Finally visited the highly recommended new sushi spot of brickell. First off, let me say wow the decor is beautiful. The cherry blossoms immediately set the tone. Upon being accommodated at our table I could not helo but to notice how well thought out and organized the table was set and our waitress Melinda greeted us immediately and assisted us in ordering drinks. She basically explained each cocktail to me in which I was impressed and helped me make some great choices. The drinks were spot on. Delicious and picture worthy. The bar manager also came over to see how our drinks came out and I really appreciated the attention. The woman manager came by our table a few times to make sure everything was good. Their attention to detail was impeccable. Moving on to the food, every single plate that we ordered was AMAZING! We ordered several sharing plates and several sushi rolls. Please try the Ishiyaki Del Mar you will not regret it comes with a little fire show and all. Ended my night with the Miso Black Cod... I'm visiting from NYC and came here for my first night in Miami and this place is literally AMAZING!! Exceeded all expectations, the food came out so quickly and everything was so fresh. But my favorite part about the experience was having Joselyne as a server. The moment we sat down she came over and asked about any food allergies and I have some severe allergies, but she was so attentive and mindful of them. I also cannot eat gluten so everything she explained on the menu she explained how to make it gluten free for me so I can still enjoy it and brought out gluten free soy sauce (I didn't even know soy sauce had gluten in it until tonight). She was literally the most mindful about my allergies than any server or restaurant has ever been, so I'm extremely grateful for that!! We discovered this restaurant yesterday and we all fell in love with it! Chris the manager immediately accommodated us even though it was quite busy, and we didn't have a reservation. we sat at a high table and were able to order from the happy hour many which is fantastic. you cannot beat those prices, especially for the quality of the food! and the drinks Jorge was our server, very nice and knowledgeable. Chris kept checking on us to make sure we were satisfied. the ambience is spectacular, we were having a conversation and at no point. One of the best lychee martinis in miami. Definitely not the most high quality fish but still great and not the highest price so it all works out: honestly lost a star because the hostesses were so rude and had so much attitude even though we had a reservation, wouldn't seat us inside (even though we said when we made res that we wanted inside) and they were just rude about. The second I walked in I was greeted with the nicest and most welcoming staff. The scenery was amazing with the Japanese inspired look. Our server Jocelyn was so nice and very bubbly and helpful with any questions we had about the menu. She was on top of attending to us for any refills of our water or if we wanted some more drinks. She hooked us up by talking to chef and letting them know what each of our flavor preferences were so that they could customize the order to our individual taste.
