    Pork and pineapple spurrito
    Jada G.

This truck has randomly sprung onto Drexel's campus in the last month and I was intrigued, so I finally took a dive and tried the "spurrito," which is basically a Vietnamese summer roll with other stuff in it, but like a burrito so I'm guessing there's some Mexican flair to it. Pineapple pork, the crowd pleaser, isn't a new flavor combination, but it tasted a bit like al pastor just with the wrong cut of meat. The spurrito came with a lime wedge and a green sauce, that I expected to taste a bit more Mexican than it did, but it nevertheless made the dish. For the price of $9, it was at least worth the money in amount of food. That being said, I don't really think the rice paper is working since it felt so messy at times and since it was wet, it was a rapid death. I'm a little conflicted by the spurrito but I'm a fan of the flavors, so I'll probably give one of their bowls or banh mi a shot later on.

    Bulgogi Spurrito at Night Market

A short time ago, in a land far far away (Australia, to be exact), a burrito and a spring roll (of the Vietnamese rice paper wrapped variety) met, got together, probably had a few drinks, went back to the burrito's place, and the spring roll forgot to wrap it up, and so was born the SPURRITO! Aren't mixed babies the cutest?! Especially Asian ones. And for some reason this amazing food truck has picked Philly to expand it's US empire, and I'm so glad it did! The Spurrito, is part Vietnamese spring roll (rice paper wrapper, rice noodles, fresh veggies, pickled veggies, vinegary dipping sauce), part Mexican burrito (size, weight, name), sometimes part Korean (bulgogi filling), sometimes part Thai (lemongrass chicken filling) but all parts amazing. It's super filling but also feels healthy and can be made gluten free or vegan. The truck also serves up fresh salsas and banh mis! Prices are reasonable (around $10 for Spurrito and sandwich, less for chips and salsa). I first saw them at the Chinatown Night Market, and then saw their big colorful truck at Bloktoberfest, too! Check their instagram/facebook/website for where they'll be next, and they're available for catering and private parties too. Welcome to Philly, PaperMill Foods!

I'm a sucker for new food trucks popping up around where I work, and so as soon as I saw this intriguing "spurrito" truck pull up I knew I had to try it. I ordered the pork spurrito, which was incredibly good. The pork meat was really tender and juicy, and the jalapenos I asked for all mixed in with the other veggies (and the pineapple, ugh nothing better than sweet and salty) topped with the green sauce they give you were an amazing combo. The to-go packaging is perfect and a cute way to tote it back to the office for a really filling lunch. What makes a "spurrito" a spurrito is that its got a burrito shape with instead of a tortilla, you get a soft spring roll wrapping. I love fusion food, so I'm all about this honestly. The wait was maybe about five minutes, and the service was great. Kudos, PaperMill! I hope to be back! PS Excuse the huge bite I took out of my spurrito in the photo, I just couldn't wait.

Eat the Rainbow Spurrito with Pork & Avocado

Just as delicious as it is beautiful! I went to the KOP food truck festival on 11/11 and spotted this truck up. I think I ordered the "Eat the Rainbow Spurrito" with pork and avocado. I could taste each individual ingredient in there since everything is so fresh. My "spurrito" filled me up without feeling disgustingly full and greasy. The employees are very friendly and seem to be very happy making their food. I had to take away a star because they charge $2 for avocado. I can get two whole avocados at Produce Junction for $1.50 - come on guys!

This food truck is absolutely phenomenal. I had a Pork Spurrito. It was perfect. The flavors were so nice, even my picky Daughter loved it. I would recommend this truck to anyone. The vendors are so friendly and helpful. If you see them check them out. You will not be disappointed

Spurrito with Vietnamese dressing (too liquidy)

I got the grilled chicken spurrito for lunch and it was.. good. Nothing out of this world but certainly far from bad. I like the concept a lot of mixing the burrito with the spring roll but I think it's just missing something. The sauce given with the chicken spurrito is a Vietnamese dressing which has great flavor but is very liquidy so all of the sauce ends up at the bottom of the burrito. My best bites were at the end with the sauce! I wish they offered different sauce options, something with a bit thicker of a consistency so it will actually stick to the bite you're taking. Also felt like like it needed more chicken to keep up with the amount of veggies. All in all it was a good and healthy lunch, would eat again if I had my own sauce!

I often frequent the Porch at 30th St Station for lunch and saw this as one of the new trucks on the new rotation for April, so naturally, I was inclined to check it out. The $9 FOOTLONG Banh Mi was very attractive to me, so I gave it a shot with the chicken. Even though the the line was pretty substantial (~6 people ahead of me), they were very prompt and I was given my HOT food in a little less than 5 minutes. The baguette was toasted and fresh and I was given a very generous portion of chicken. All of the ingredients in the sandwich were very fresh. I hope this tuck becomes a staple to the food truck rotation on The Porch. I'll definitely be returning to try the spurrito.

Too many veggies not my taste. Sauce.... but okay. There is an unequal dustrubution b/w the meat and veggies. Looks good, taste weird.

The biggest surprise was the tái (eye-round steak), yet still retaining that pleasantly chewy texture of undercooked beef; the gầu (fat brisket) was thick and crisp, fragrant but not greasy--who would have thought I'd find brisket fat here? This showed the restaurant's precise control over the broth temperature and the thickness of the beef. Almost all phở restaurants claim to offer authentic raw beef or various cuts of beef, but very few can truly make customers feel the difference. The restaurant's decor is simple but spacious and clean; the service is average, but very efficient. Efficiency is essential for phở, otherwise the beef would be overcooked in the hot broth. After all, the essence of a restaurant is food, and for such affordable ones, it's gratifying to see them spend most of their costs on the food itself.
