Service - The owners seem lovely. Very kind and welcoming. Pho - Eh. I ordered the vegetarian pho which was $15.99. I asked if it came with tofu and was told it did not. I asked to add tofu. Given that the vegetarian tofu was more expensive than any of the phos with meat, I expected vegetables to be somewhat robust...this was not the case. In addition to a fairly bland soup that lacked depth, the only vegetables the soup came with were bok choy and broccoli. The added tofu was fried and quite good but the portion was quite small...certainly not enough to justify an additional $3.00 cost. My soup also came in a different bowl and appeared to be a smaller potion than my friend's. She ordered the beef tofu and also complained of a bland broth; she said the brisket was well cooked. Sauces - The sauces at the table (Hoisin and Siracha) seemed to be water down, which is bad enough. But they also seemed a bit rancid and had a strange after taste. Lovely owners. Nice ambiance. Until Little Saigon Cafe opened, I only had one spot in Chinatown for pho. Now I have two! The first time I walked by LSC, I did a double-take. It was almost midnight, yet the place was full. I smelled pho and had to stop in. LSC is run by two brothers (if I remember right). While they have a full menu of Vietnamese options, start with their pho. They turn out a delicious noodle soup, and they don't skimp on the trimmings. Their summer rolls are pretty good, too. There's room for a group inside, and a few high-tops for parties of one or two. It's clean and comfy. At each table, you can order using a QR code. I'm old-fashioned, so I talk to a person when I'm there. ;) Visit whenever you're hungry. They're open for lunch and dinner (and quite late - to midnight!). Just note that (as of this review), they're closed Thursdays. read more

BAD ATTITUDE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. The server refused to acknowledge that she served us the wrong food and insisted that that's what we ordered when she is clearly wrong. We ordered H6 on the menu, Nem Nuiong Lemongrass Grill Pork Sausage. It doesn't specifically say that it's hoagie on the menu, but it's listed under sandwich and it does say Vietnamese hoagie as shown on UberEats for your information (and there's typo on UberEats menu). We wanted to bring this to her attention again when we received the check, instead of apologizing, she tried to rush us out and take our card to pay and sit the next group of customers. We weren't happy with our experience and we wanted to speak with someone who could provide us with a better explanation, and she dismissed us and said we don't have time for this. Went here for a late dinner with my wife and daughter. They both ordered Pho, but I felt like a sandwich so I ordered the H6. Grilled Pork Sausage Banh Mi (Hoagie). After they received their Pho, the waitress brought out a bowl of vermicelli with sausage. We called her over and let her know the order was incorrect and I ordered a banh mi sandwich. She said I ordered H6, and that was an H6 and walked away. I accepted it was my mistake with a poorly written menu. At the end of an average meal, my wife who is Chinese looked at the menu again, which is written in Chinese as well and an H6 in Chinese is on bread. We brought this up to the waitress, who started yelling at us to pay our bill and leave. Once we got back to the hotel, I checked Uber Eats and found the attachment. I would give this place 4 stars, minus a star because it was quite expensive for not a lot of meat. However, I got the P8 (rare eye round steak & brisket) and it was really good! The broth was clean and delicious, and elevated with the addition of the sauces (as well as Sriracha I had at home). I actually ordered this takeout, so it was perfectly packaged and easy to reheat and eat at home. I know there are a ton of pho places near here, but this was a great one! read more

Good spot for late nights din! Literally landed in Philly at 10ish and was looking around for open restos and came across this place. Huge portions and the summer rolls were super fresh. The service was wonderful and I believe he's the owner of the place as well. I ordered meatball and tendon and only received 2 beef balls.... I think we can do better than that. We came here on a whim Saturday night after we saw it had good ratings online. It's small and very unassuming but the decor was interesting and they had a table open for us. Also it's BYOB. The menu had everything we were looking for. We ordered the spring rolls and they were perfectly crispy. The bahn mi sandwich was a little too toasted for my liking but still yummy. The real star was the pho! We ordered P8 the rare eye round steak & brisket and it was so rich and delicious. It was the perfect food after a long day running around in the rain. I was so full but I just couldn't stop drinking the broth at the end. My friend ordered the spring rolls & grilled pork vermicelli which was a huge bowl of food and she greatly enjoyed it as well. I have been here several times and this is my eldest son's pho place in Chinatown. This time, we brought J and the 2 girls here too - a group of 6. Everyone enjoyed the food thoroughly. I came here for an event hosted by my work place. Sam, the owner, was so nice and generous with us. He was so patience with us and did his best to accommodate all our orders and getting it out in a timely manner even though he was the only one there. The hot soy milk was a classic but Sam's avocado smoothy was so rich and creamy! Such a sweet treat! The fried spring rolls and fresh summer rolls were so good. The peanut sauce and the fish sauce really added a burst of flavor to the already amazing rolls! I ordered the pho special. The broth flavor was so good! I got the regular size BUT there was so much pho that I had enough to split it into 2 meals. Huge plus, besides being an awesome chef and human, Sam is also an amazing community advocate. He's on the front lines of all the protests to protect Chinatown from the Sixers arena and opens his restaurant up for advocacy groups/workshops. It's really easy to support someone like that! This is a fairly new place on 10th Street, but it's an absolutely wonderful addition to Chinatown. The food was very well-prepared and delicious, with a diverse menu that seemingly has plenty to offer. It's a small, inviting and very clean restaurant with exceptionally friendly staff, and I'll definitely give them high recommendations. With the Lai family's "Vietnam Restaurant" on 11th remaining take-out only, this is the only other comparable Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown that I really enjoy being at. I spent $6 for a hot Vietnamese coffee to go, and to my surprise, it was microwaved to heat it up. It's disappointing to pay for a coffee that's clearly been sitting in the fridge for a while. I've been here multiple times and the food quality has always been so consistent. I love their Vietnamese coffee (super bold and flavorful!), beef pho, chicken pho and banh mi. You honestly can't go wrong with anything here. You can tell the quality of the soup and ingredients that they're made from scratch. The staff are super attentive and extremely friendly too. Everything is priced reasonably despite what other reviewers said. Chinatown has a lot viet places but this is my go to spot as I always come here every week or every other if I can. We found this little gem on vacation. It was surprisingly excellent given the humble look of the place. My husband had the special pho not only was it delicious, the amount of beef in the noodle is amazing. I had a chicken pho and the chicken in the pho is outrageously tender and juicy. Went there yesterday 9/1/24 and onlice said they closed at 12am on a Sunday. I get there around 10:30pm and can't be seated be I'm told they are only doing takeout. Fine I originally wanted pho but don't like it as a takeout so I opted to get shrimp and chicken spring rolls with the rice wrap as appetizers and grilled shrimp over rice noodles with pickled carrot and cucumber entrée. I ate the two spring rolls driving home by the time I reached home and started to eat the entrée I immediately started feeling sick. which led to later on that night puking and constant diarrhea up until now September 2 my stomach is still not right. Needless to say the shrimp must have been bad. Will never be going back again. read more

I was taken aback to find that the entire menu had zero Vietnamese on it but the pho broth was legit. The portion was also just enough - with just enough meats and fixings. It's not heavy on the meat so the $17 price per bowl (I got a pho tai bo vien and added tripe) is a bit steep than I'm used to in TX or CA. But!! They're super friendly and service is quick.
