Don't blink or you'll miss it. I drove past because it looks like a residential property. Quaint little place, is around the side. It's like eating at grandma's house. Mismatched plates and display of teacup. Only about 8 small tables inside. There is a nice patio area which is 2-3 times bigger than the indoor area. Food was great! I ordered lavender lemonade, my sister ordered hibiscus water. Both are refreshing and not too sweet. I chose waffles with bacon and added a scrambled egg. Fabulous choice if I say so myself. Egg was well seasoned. Waffle came with berries & whipped cream. No need for syrup. The waffles were close to those I ate while in Belgium. Dense but not heavy, nice crunch of sugar. My sister said her crepe was great. Savory with ham and egg. Only down side is there were flies buzzing around. But they do have sinning things for the table to shoo them away.

I absolutely adore this little gem in Round Rock, been coming for years and always love the smiles from staff and knowing the love that goes into this fabulous food from the kitchen... The food is always exceptional. Sit inside or out, don't let construction hold you back! There are always sweet treats and of course pies by the slice or to go! This is what great a local business looks like... thank you for your years of serving our community!

This is such a cute little brunch spot! I've been meaning to try this place out for a while now and glad I finally did. The restaurant is not really noticeable as it's tucked in the back streets of Round Rock but once you get to the location, there are signs directing you down the path to a back area. It gives off an old timey cottage vibe which I adored. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. It was a lovely day so we opted for outdoor which was this artsy garden area. I'll admit that on the day we went, service was a tad slow but I appreciated the sign on the door giving us the heads up that they were understaffed for the day. Also since it was a nice day out, I didn't really mind. As for the food, I initially had wanted to try their salteñas (Bolivian empanadas) but sadly learned that they only have those on Fridays. Instead I ordered their Quiche Poblano and Lavender Lemonade. Let me just say, the quiche was so incredible that I had a hard time holding myself back from ordering a second plate of it. The lemonade was refreshing and had the perfect amount of lavender as well. All in all, a super lovely spot. I'll definitely be bringing any out of town guests here next time instead of going all the way into Austin, and also hopefully get to try their salteñas!

What a cute little place! An old Round Rock house, turned into a charming French/Argentinian restaurant. Art for purchase adorns the walls along with birdhouses of every kind which along with the limited amount of seating inside and in their garden, makes for a pretty quaint yet whimsical restaurant. I could easily see myself having tea and pie here but for my first visit, it was all about the breakfast. I have heard tales of their liege waffles and though I was tempted by them, I knew I would be able to snag some bites from my nieces. For me, it was all about the croque madam croissant. It was incredibly flaky and buttery and the egg on top was cooked just perfectly. The bites of waffle I had were sugary and crunchy and indeed, did not need any syrup, though I would've liked to try it! I unfortunately did not get to try any of their famous pies but that's what next time is for! We got lucky in that we came sort of in-between breakfast and lunch, and somehow got the one table that was left but once we sat down, there were at least 4 other groups who wanted to be seated and had to settle for the chilly garden tables. Though I very much enjoyed my meal and the ambiance, I will say, if you are hungry, maybe go somewhere else, or just be prepared to order two meals/snatch food from your nieces when they aren't watching. The portions are fine but in my opinion could be bigger.

My daughter and I had lunch at Papi's Pies on a recent Thursday. The weather was perfect to sit outdoors in the shade. There is also seating indoors. Based on previous reviews, the menu has changed somewhat and leans toward French bistro in style. The restaurant had a sign up indicating they were short staffed, and it appeared as if there were only 2 people running things. Since it was not crowded during our visit, there wasn't a significant wait. Had the place been full, anything cooked to order could take a while. We ordered 2 crepes. The crepes tasted good and seemed to be made using fresh ingredients. There was a cherry tomato garnish. My daughter had a lavender lemonade, which was slightly sweetened. Portion sizes are not generous, and pricing is on the high side given those portions. The quality of the food was excellent, and service was friendly, which may override any objections to pricing.

Charming restaurant with a great outdoor space. We were a group of three and were seated right away. We shared a croissant. It was delicious. Nice and warm. I had the Frittata Florentine. It was very good and surprisingly a lot of food. The salad was also very good. I really like this local Round Rock business and will definitely be back.

I went here solo today. I was thinking get a slice of pie and coffee and finish my errands. Instead I ordered a prosciutto and cheese sandwich with side salad and then the coffee and cherry pie! I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and tasteful everything was. It was a beautiful day and I sat outside under an umbrella. If you go, park behind Papi's instead of across the street at the bank. I was praying I didn't get towed! The construction is still going on. Also if you go, you cannot be in a hurry or have a timeline. It's very laid back there. At first I was like come on hurry up! Then I decided "what's the rush?" I enjoyed it very much! Even got a coffee refill for free to go.

Transport yourself to a quaint English cottage complete with its own garden when you enter Papi's Pies. It's a little hidden from the road which made it even more magical to eventually find the restaurant sign peeking out. The ambiance is casual and feels like you're at grandma's cozy home for an afternoon iced tea and lunch. We sat at a shaded area outside and it was perfect. I had the chilaquiles and the chipotle sauce it came with was perfect and as a spicy food lover the dish had a good amount of kick. 10/10 dish. Tried the croque madam and waffle and all were 10/10. High quality ingredients, perfectly seasoned, texture of the waffle was crispy and tartlets were all grilled to toasty goodness. The chef pays high attention to detail so don't be fooled by their humble cozy appearance. Oh and they brew their iced teas in house and the unsweetened peach one is AMAZING. You can order it sweetened too if you prefer.

This is such an adorable and inviting spot in round rock and definitely worth a visit. What really makes me give this a 5/5 is just the charm of the whole place. You can see the love & care of the family restaurant as the owners are the ones serving you and explaining how to properly eat a Bolivian salteña as they did in Bolivia. It's warm, inviting, and has a cottage feel. Truly a lovely place to enjoy breakfast and stay a while! The menu is a mix of European, Bolivian, Mexican comfort foods, reflecting the owners backgrounds. We ordered the chicken salteña, cherry blossom tea, a few quiches, cherry pie. Everything was very good, I particularly really enjoyed the hot tea on a chilly day and the Florentine quiche. I'd love to come back to try some of the other menu items. I hope this place never loses its small-town feel & charm!

I give the food and service 5 stars. It was delicious and everyone was nice. They have a lovely small outdoor eating area as well as indoor. The one thing I cannot get over is how ridiculously horrible their water smells. We ate here 5 years ago an I gagged when I tried drinking the water and had honestly forgotten about it until they gave us water. It isn't their glasses because our kid got served in a disposable cup and it was just as horrid. Something is majorly up with their water. It kinda ruined the enchanted experience. If they can figure this part out they're a 5 star establishment.

We're looking for something different after the holidays and leftovers have played out for lunch. Found this place on Yelp decided to give it a try. Great please for a nice Saturday brunch this quaint little family owned and run restaurant was great.The service and ambience were everything I enjoy about a great dining experience.Now to the great food we ordered the; Quiche au Saumon Fume(smoked salmon), served with a nice green salad - it was delicious. we also ordered the Huitlache(Mexican truffles)Crepe w/sliced tomatoes- also very delicious. With the service and good food I would recommend you give it a try I'll definitely come back and try other menu items. read more

Very welcoming and quaint place. They were nice and accommodating to our painting group. The patio area is lovely. My croissant was huge, hot out of the oven and absolutely delicious and flaky. The pies looked great too. The location is in a historical area of Round Rock on Chisholm Trail. A great place for a relaxing breakfast or get together with friends. read more

After 1 visit, we can see the 5-star ratings are legit. We had the quiche Loraine, and quiche Poblano. Both were excellent and served with a nice side salad. This is definitely not fast food and with the aromas that make their way from the kitchen, you don't even mind waiting. It's a bit of a drive from SW Austin but we will be visiting again. The deserts will def be a Togo purchase and there are a lot to work our way through. Update: so while the food is good, the hours seem to be random. Came by yesterday(01/02) closed. Came by today(01/03) closed and says be back Saturday. Since inside dining is limited we tried to get here early. read more

Papi's pies is a hidden gem!! Empanadas, pies, sandwiches, and great service in a relaxing hometown atmosphere! We stopped by on a whim for lunch. We enjoyed coffee on the patio and my fiancé ordered us a quinoa salad to share, he ordered an Italian sandwich and I ordered 2 empanadas, we ended up sharing everything because it was all so delicious!! The empanadas were absolutely amazing! Also our server mentioned that they sell them frozen to take home for later too, and I will definitely be taking advantage of that! We ended lunch with a slice of pumpkin and pecan pies, both were incredible!! read more

Papi's Pies have simply amazing pies! I have finally found a Baker whose pies might even be better than my mother's... a hard order to fill. All of their ingredients are fresh and homemade. Their cherry pie is made with a mix of sweet and tart cherries with a nice matrix not top sweet. Clearly no cans were involved. The crust was just right, flakey and browned with a lovely dusting of crystal sugar. Their strawberry-rhubarb pie was perfection - sweet and tart in perfect measure. The crust was thin, flakey, and perfectly browned. They serve on a mixed assortment of fine China adding whimsy while making the moment a bit more special. My only bone to pick was that after we have devoured our selection of goodies, and I had praised their estimable strawberry-rhubarb pie, the Baker came out with a gorgeous rasberry-rhubarb pie right out of the cooling rack but alas it was too late. I loved this place. After saying "heck I am not gonna wait over 30 min to be seated in Java cafe", I looked up on Yelp and drove all the way to here and I was not disappointed. Designed in old French-Mexican style this cafe offers variety of breakfast options and pies. Charming ambiance! Nice and attentive wait staff and friendly owner who takes good care of his business. This gentleman gave me vibes of Europe. I ordered quiche Florentine and it was very tasty and fulfilling. Came with a side of freshens green salad. Molletes sandwich was simple but delicious. Soft bread, beans, manchego cheese. That's a perfect option for breakfast. Next time I get pie for sure. Just couldn't fit this time. They sell art and ambiance is just so different. What a delicious hidden gem! We wanted to try something new so we have this charming little place a try. We were so happy that we did. I had the liege waffles-crisp, sweet, and topped with ripe berries-so good. Wife had the prosciutto and cheese tartine. It was an open-faced sandwich, with gruyere melted over top. Rich and delicious. She appreciated it came with a salad on the side. Kid had the quiche which he gobbled up quickly. He even ate most of his salad so you know it had to be good. We took others' advice and ordered some saltenas at the same time as our food. They were done just as we finished our food. Both were delicious, one beef and one chicken. Savory fillings, tasty crust. They were so good, the kid didn't even notice they had olives in them. There is a lot of artwork by Janet Oh hanging in the dining area, most of which are available for purchase. I might have to buy a piece next time we go there. read more

I can't speak for there other food, but the pecan pies is the worse I've ever tasted. It doesn't taste like pecan pie, mostly just pecan. They put way to many pecans in the pie. It it doesn't taste sweet at all. HEB has a better pie then them. read more

Super cute spot hidden away. The homemade pies look delicious, be we were too full after splitting the waffles and having quiche. Absolutely delicious. The mixed greens salad tasted like it was out of a garden in the back yard and the quiche Lorraine was exquisite. Will have to go back to try the actual fruit pies and meat pies as well. read more

Love this place! Their new Friday night date night is a perfect way to start the weekend. Everything is relaxed, there is joy in the service, the food is delicious and the wine is great too! I have been once with my husband and last night with a friend, both times we were able to sit and enjoy each other's company at a leisurely pace. Quiche Lorraine, with salad. Incredible flavour. We have been desperate to try this place for over a month, finally had the opportunity this morning via the Favor app. I don't care that we paid a delivery fee because it was so worth it. Next meal will be in store, for the full experience. I'd like to apologise for calling during breakfast rush, but as someone who lives for flavour, this phone call was warranted. So...we went inside, were given menus and asked to pick a table outside and someone would be out shortly to take our order. We did so, another couple came and sat at a table after us, were helped, received drinks, and placed their order, all without someone even acknowledging us. After about 25 minutes, we decided it was a lost cause and left. WE WERE NEVER HELPED, not even a "I'll be with you in a moment." Very disappointed and sad, as this place has amazing Yelp reviews. read more

Extremely cute! I love family-owned & run businesses. I was in the area and came by to have brunch by myself. The entry is photo worthy as like the whole place itself. There is parking at the back, as I was informed. Ordered the bacon and onion quiche and the hibiscus water. The quiche was great, flaky and eggy and it came with some mixed greens and little tomatoes. The hibiscus water was not much to my liking- it's like a watered down pomegranate juice and I really wanted to try the lavender lemonade but they were out. I'm not a pie person so I didn't get any but they looked nice. Very nice family, came by and checked on me a couple times. The quiche and drink was $10.50 with tax. I can't get over the decorations and vibes here, so so very cute. Will definitely be coming back with my camera to pose for some pictures. read more

What a gem! The food was PERFECTION and worth a wait. Service was a little slow but it didn't matter because the local art for sale on the walls can keep you well occupied inside and seating in the garden outside is simply inviting. I will definitely keep coming back to this quaint spot. read more

Papi's Pies is one of the most charming places I've ever visited. The entrance is to the side, through a little garden with benches and picnic tables. I walked through the door to find a clean, quiet and just adorable dining room. A doorway leads to a small counter with a pastry display - oh goodness. Everything looked SO fresh. The proprietor walked from behind the counter to greet us with a smile. He explained the menu and answered our questions. By the time we got there they had stopped serving breakfast, but I could still order a slice of Quiche Florentine. Delicious and went nicely with their hot coffee. I was captivated by the dining room, especially by the art on the walls by Charlotte Barbini. Each painting had an accompanying story, and her collection her story moved me to tears. I had the feeling that I was one step away from my own grandmother whose paintings I love - if she had a little dining room. With a garden, I imagine it would look like this. A lovely place! I wish we had time to hang out while they cooked up some empanadas. Next time! read more

This is a great little mom and pop spot to stop in for a decent breakfast, cup of coffee, some pastries, cakes or all the above. Their cheesecakes are fantastic but the Nutella pastry things are outstanding. Great ambience to bring your laptop and work too. read more

Papi's never fails to delight. I wasn't sure if their little place survived COVID, so we drove out to Round Rock and I'm so happy they are still there. This time I had the Florentine quiche- it melts in your mouth. But I can't pass up the South American empanadas: totally worth the drive. Finally, I don't know where they found the rhubarb, but strawberry rhubarb pie reminds me of my mother. She would ask me to pick a few stalks and berries and she turned them into a thing of beauty. Charming surroundings once you figure out how to get inside. This is a tiny cup, small servings kind of place. I was unsure how to get a second cup of coffee.... The quiche was good and the salad was fresh and yummy. Didn't try the empanadas but the dessert cookies were all underwhelming. Try empanadas...next time. read more

A secluded and quiet, vibrant and full of character local breakfast spot with tasty quiches. I haven't had a quiche like this - it's affordable and the side salad is great to balance out the rich and flavourful quiche. I had the quiche Florentine which had perfect levels of salt and seasoning, and the crust was flaky. The amount of cheese is a bit generous as a heads up. read more

These are some of the BEST salteñas I've ever had outside of Bolivia!! The masa (dough) was perfectly sweet and everything inside was deliciously seasoned! My taste buds were jumping for joy! Other places make them tiny, but they're huge here. Their waffles are also a must! We will definitely be back =D read more

Delicious. I never knew I needed French-Bolivian food but once you have the Salteñas or Quiche au Saumon Fume you'll need it too. Flawless baked goods in a quaint home style atmosphere. Best pie selection around too. read more

This frappe tasted exactly like a 'fluffy' oreo; just devine. On the other hand, I ordered the creme brulee souffle pancake. For those who have not yet had the opportunity to try this Japanese delight, the name is what it implies; a creamy stack of pancakes with crunchy bitter caramel, and silky vanilla custard. This dessert happened to be accompanied by a dollop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. These pancakes melted in my mouth and each bite was just as good as the one that preceded it. I had other places to be so I had to walk to the register and ask for my bill. Another person at the bar, who I had never seen come to my table, prepared the bill so I could pay. This was a little bit awkward and just seemed like the employees were flustered due to the holiday or something and just forgot about me entirely. If I ever return, I will have to come back and try the steak on my next visit. It looked really good!

Well when I pulled up today the line was wrapped around all the way to Mays street. So I just followed the line of cars and got in line. It was definitely Texas-sized. The six donuts we took home were two blueberry cake donuts, two regular raised donuts, and two filled. The filled donuts were our favorites, along with the cake and the traditional raised. We can now say we've been to the legendary Round Rock Donuts.

The chicken was crispy, juicy, and well seasoned, and the waffle had a wonderful texture: light and airy inside with a crisp exterior. It was served with syrup and a remoulade-style sauce. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully decorated with fun murals, word art and nods to Round Rock. For a first visit, Waffle Love made a fantastic impression. The next time I'm in Round Rock, I'll be ordering another waffle flight, probably the same 3 selections, just without the Biscoff spread.

Cocktail- served in a lowball and looked great upon presentation. This tasted pretty good, but ended up being so small with a lot of ice, unfortunately. Skewers - these were pretty good with a nice grilled flavor. I loved the texture. Escondidinho de carne - this is a really good dish with ground beef that doesn't have many veggies like the Irish version, but still very good. The visit was not without a miscues though. I asked the waitress for an extra plate when she brought the entree out, but she never returned. Then, at the end, I finished my meal and nobody was coming to my table to give me my ticket. I had other places to be so I had to walk to the register and ask for my bill. Another person at the bar, who I had never seen come to my table, prepared the bill so I could pay. This was a little bit awkward and just seemed like the employees were flustered due to the holiday or something and just forgot about me entirely. If I ever return, I will have to come back and try the steak on my next visit. It looked really good!

My family and I had a great time at this new little cafe in Round Rock! Welcoming owners, adorable garden, and a beautiful art exhibit inside of the cafe too. We had saltenas, which are like an empanada and delicious. We also had Belgian waffles, chocolate cake and coconut cream pie (we shared all, so we could try as much as possible in one visit). After our yummy meal, we had tea and coffee and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds outside on the patio. We noticed there are a whole bunch of little bird houses decorated differently placed throughout the outside. The owner told us their artist friends gifted them to the cafe. How sweet is that? This place really brings back the spirit of Old Austin. Laid back, friendly and not cookie cutter in terms of design or menu. My 7 year old and 15 year old love their quiche! their waffles are awesome, too! We have never been disappointed in their food. Since Covid they no longer have the cute little floral porcelain tea place settings, but it's understandable why they have more of the paper/plastic wear now. I look forward when/if they can bring that back. Just adds a nice little touch. With regards to their pies, I love getting a rhubarb pie there. Not many places here in the south offer rhubarb. Now, they only have strawberry-rhubarb on their menu, but you can ask to order a whole rhubarb pie (minus the strawberries - which is how I like it) ahead of time. My fiancee and I were looking for a new place for breakfast, and found Papis Pies. For the past four Sundays, we've been in for their Quiche Lorraine. It is the best quiche, hands down. Pairing it with a salad may seem unusual, but really enhances the flavor experience. I would also recommend the Leige Waffles. With the sugar baked in the waffles why would you need syrup? I was in around Rock this morning and decided to check out some breakfast/brunch places. Papi's Pies popped up on Yelp so I decided to drop in. I ordered the smoked salmon quiche (new menu item).
