Don't blink or you'll miss it. I drove past because it looks like a residential property. Quaint little place, is around the side. It's like eating at grandma's house. Mismatched plates and display of teacup. Only about 8 small tables inside. There is a nice patio area which is 2-3 times bigger than the indoor area. Food was great! I ordered lavender lemonade, my sister ordered hibiscus water. Both are refreshing and not too sweet. I chose waffles with bacon and added a scrambled egg. Fabulous choice if I say so myself. Egg was well seasoned. Waffle came with berries & whipped cream. No need for syrup. The waffles were close to those I ate while in Belgium. Dense but not heavy, nice crunch of sugar. My sister said her crepe was great. Savory with ham and egg. Only down side is there were flies buzzing around. But they do have sinning things for the table to shoo them away.

I absolutely adore this little gem in Round Rock, been coming for years and always love the smiles from staff and knowing the love that goes into this fabulous food from the kitchen... The food is always exceptional. Sit inside or out, don't let construction hold you back! There are always sweet treats and of course pies by the slice or to go! This is what great a local business looks like... thank you for your years of serving our community!

This is such a cute little brunch spot! I've been meaning to try this place out for a while now and glad I finally did. The restaurant is not really noticeable as it's tucked in the back streets of Round Rock but once you get to the location, there are signs directing you down the path to a back area. It gives off an old timey cottage vibe which I adored. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. It was a lovely day so we opted for outdoor which was this artsy garden area. I'll admit that on the day we went, service was a tad slow but I appreciated the sign on the door giving us the heads up that they were understaffed for the day. Also since it was a nice day out, I didn't really mind. As for the food, I initially had wanted to try their salteñas (Bolivian empanadas) but sadly learned that they only have those on Fridays. Instead I ordered their Quiche Poblano and Lavender Lemonade. Let me just say, the quiche was so incredible that I had a hard time holding myself back from ordering a second plate of it. The lemonade was refreshing and had the perfect amount of lavender as well. All in all, a super lovely spot. I'll definitely be bringing any out of town guests here next time instead of going all the way into Austin, and also hopefully get to try their salteñas!

What a cute little place! An old Round Rock house, turned into a charming French/Argentinian restaurant. Art for purchase adorns the walls along with birdhouses of every kind which along with the limited amount of seating inside and in their garden, makes for a pretty quaint yet whimsical restaurant. I could easily see myself having tea and pie here but for my first visit, it was all about the breakfast. I have heard tales of their liege waffles and though I was tempted by them, I knew I would be able to snag some bites from my nieces. For me, it was all about the croque madam croissant. It was incredibly flaky and buttery and the egg on top was cooked just perfectly. The bites of waffle I had were sugary and crunchy and indeed, did not need any syrup, though I would've liked to try it! I unfortunately did not get to try any of their famous pies but that's what next time is for! We got lucky in that we came sort of in-between breakfast and lunch, and somehow got the one table that was left but once we sat down, there were at least 4 other groups who wanted to be seated and had to settle for the chilly garden tables. Though I very much enjoyed my meal and the ambiance, I will say, if you are hungry, maybe go somewhere else, or just be prepared to order two meals/snatch food from your nieces when they aren't watching. The portions are fine but in my opinion could be bigger.

Cute place for a nice patio. The pie and tea are wonderful also the croissant and rhubarb preserves were delicious.

My daughter and I had lunch at Papi's Pies on a recent Thursday. The weather was perfect to sit outdoors in the shade. There is also seating indoors. Based on previous reviews, the menu has changed somewhat and leans toward French bistro in style. The restaurant had a sign up indicating they were short staffed, and it appeared as if there were only 2 people running things. Since it was not crowded during our visit, there wasn't a significant wait. Had the place been full, anything cooked to order could take a while. We ordered 2 crepes. The crepes tasted good and seemed to be made using fresh ingredients. There was a cherry tomato garnish. My daughter had a lavender lemonade, which was slightly sweetened. Portion sizes are not generous, and pricing is on the high side given those portions. The quality of the food was excellent, and service was friendly, which may override any objections to pricing.

Charming restaurant with a great outdoor space. We were a group of three and were seated right away. We shared a croissant. It was delicious. Nice and warm. I had the Frittata Florentine. It was very good and surprisingly a lot of food. The salad was also very good. I really like this local Round Rock business and will definitely be back.

I went here solo today. I was thinking get a slice of pie and coffee and finish my errands. Instead I ordered a prosciutto and cheese sandwich with side salad and then the coffee and cherry pie! I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and tasteful everything was. It was a beautiful day and I sat outside under an umbrella. If you go, park behind Papi's instead of across the street at the bank. I was praying I didn't get towed! The construction is still going on. Also if you go, you cannot be in a hurry or have a timeline. It's very laid back there. At first I was like come on hurry up! Then I decided "what's the rush?" I enjoyed it very much! Even got a coffee refill for free to go.

Transport yourself to a quaint English cottage complete with its own garden when you enter Papi's Pies. It's a little hidden from the road which made it even more magical to eventually find the restaurant sign peeking out. The ambiance is casual and feels like you're at grandma's cozy home for an afternoon iced tea and lunch. We sat at a shaded area outside and it was perfect. I had the chilaquiles and the chipotle sauce it came with was perfect and as a spicy food lover the dish had a good amount of kick. 10/10 dish. Tried the croque madam and waffle and all were 10/10. High quality ingredients, perfectly seasoned, texture of the waffle was crispy and tartlets were all grilled to toasty goodness. The chef pays high attention to detail so don't be fooled by their humble cozy appearance. Oh and they brew their iced teas in house and the unsweetened peach one is AMAZING. You can order it sweetened too if you prefer.

This is such an adorable and inviting spot in round rock and definitely worth a visit. What really makes me give this a 5/5 is just the charm of the whole place. You can see the love & care of the family restaurant as the owners are the ones serving you and explaining how to properly eat a Bolivian salteña as they did in Bolivia. It's warm, inviting, and has a cottage feel. Truly a lovely place to enjoy breakfast and stay a while! The menu is a mix of European, Bolivian, Mexican comfort foods, reflecting the owners backgrounds. We ordered the chicken salteña, cherry blossom tea, a few quiches, cherry pie. Everything was very good, I particularly really enjoyed the hot tea on a chilly day and the Florentine quiche. I'd love to come back to try some of the other menu items. I hope this place never loses its small-town feel & charm!

I give the food and service 5 stars. It was delicious and everyone was nice. They have a lovely small outdoor eating area as well as indoor. The one thing I cannot get over is how ridiculously horrible their water smells. We ate here 5 years ago an I gagged when I tried drinking the water and had honestly forgotten about it until they gave us water. It isn't their glasses because our kid got served in a disposable cup and it was just as horrid. Something is majorly up with their water. It kinda ruined the enchanted experience. If they can figure this part out they're a 5 star establishment.

Is it counter service or waited tables?

A waiter or waitress will take your order at the table. There is counter service for pies to go.

Do you need to pre-order pies or do they carry a large selection every day?

Seems they carry a variety of pies and pastries. Macaroons too.

Backyard patio has some big bricks for the kids to play with. Parking is a bit confusing at first but there's additional parking to the side if the entrance lot is full. We sat outside and ordered the following dishes: Coxinha (shredded chicken croquette) was excellent and very kid friendly. Crispy on the outside while incredibly creamy and soft on the inside. 9/10 Bolinha de Queijo (fried cheese balls) were my son's favorite, basically their version of mozzarella sticks. 9/10 Pizza Queijo, cheese pizza with crust stuffed with Brazilian cream cheese, really good. 8/10 Espetinho de Chicken Heart, my wife's choice and she loved it. Dense, slightly chewy, and best with lime and the creamy pepper sauce the waiter brought after I asked. 8/10 Strogonoff de Frango, the standout main dish. Rich, creamy, perfectly seasoned sauce with excellent rice and crispy potato sticks. 9/10 Caipirinha Tradicional, solid and paired well with the savory dishes. 9/10 Caipirinha de Caju, my wife loved it, perfectly balanced sweetness. 10/10 Brigadeiro (dessert) taken to go. Small but tasted as expected. 7/10 Pricing is mid range and actually lower than expected overall though drinks can push the bill up quickly. Overall, great vibes and a very enjoyable experience. Best suited for dates, special occasions, or family outings. I would definitely come back, especially to try more appetizers, different pizza options, the Strogonoff de Frango again and try some new dishes. 4.5 / 5 rounded up!

Skewers - these were pretty good with a nice grilled flavor. I loved the texture. Escondidinho de carne - this is a really good dish with ground beef that doesn't have many veggies like the Irish version, but still very good. The visit was not without a miscues though. I asked the waitress for an extra plate when she brought the entree out, but she never returned. Then, at the end, I finished my meal and nobody was coming to my table to give me my ticket. I had other places to be so I had to walk to the register and ask for my bill. Another person at the bar, who I had never seen come to my table, prepared the bill so I could pay. This was a little bit awkward and just seemed like the employees were flustered due to the holiday or something and just forgot about me entirely. We ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup, chicken and waffles, and the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread. Before I get to the food, I want to recognize the excellent customer service. Since it was my first visit, I had quite a few questions. The employee helping us was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. She walked us through all of the flight options, and let us know that everything was made fresh to order, so there would be a short wait. I appreciated the transparency, and when our food arrived I soon found out it was worth the wait. The standout for me was the grilled cheese waffle with tomato soup. The soup tasted homemade, with bright tomato flavor and generous chunks of tomato throughout. It was fresh, and absolutely delicious. The grilled cheese featured a flavorful muenster and provolone instead of the standard cheddar you find everywhere else, and the waffle itself was crispy on the outside with a perfect gooey cheese pull. My friend enjoyed the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread since I'm not a huge fan of Biscoff. I did try the strawberries and cream, though, and both were excellent. The strawberries were fresh, sweet, and firm, while the cream tasted rich and homemade. The chicken and waffles were outstanding. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and well seasoned, and the waffle had a wonderful texture: light and airy inside with a crisp exterior. It was served with syrup and a remoulade-style sauce. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully decorated with fun murals, word art and nods to Round Rock. For a first visit, Waffle Love made a fantastic impression. The next time I'm in Round Rock, I'll be ordering another waffle flight, probably the same 3 selections, just without the Biscoff spread.

Oof I walked in and it was beautiful with what looked like gourmet pastries and coffee. Not a place to be covered in dirt and grass clippings. But I was already there, the coffee smelt good and I saw a matcha croissant (I love matcha) so I ordered to go. The girls in front of me bought the last one, but they very quickly made me another one and they were far too nice The food was spectacular and the best I've had in a long moment! The coffee was amazing! The service a 10 out of 10! And the vibe was so cute and relaxing

Maybe they were having an off day because I only saw one other review about the wait time... don't…read morecome here if you are in any sort of hurry. We were exited to take my niece to the 'unicorn place' and support a plant based shop. It was super cute and she was excited about the decor and unicorns. Came a little after 9am on a Friday, it was maybe half full, but it took about 40 minutes to get two lemon tofu toasts. I was patient until my niece was getting antsy, she finished her pastry, we both finished our mediocre coffees, still no toast... I checked and the Apple Pay time stamp went through more than 30 minutes prior. I asked staff if our toast was still coming and they replied rudely like I was being a jerk to even ask. Pagers for food when they went off were obnoxious beeping. Just give people a table number and carry it out to them. Maybe they have one little toaster and person in the back? That said once the food came, the tofu was DELICIOUS, and a large portion. We could have split it. Croissant was unimpressive as was their chocolate croissant. Macarons were tasty, but not with the signature chew that ones made with egg whites would have. $$ Two plain lattes, two lemon toasts, a chocolate croissant and 6 macarons with a $5 tip was $88. Pretty ridiculous, and I am used to California, Bay Area prices.
