Came back in today to try the Quiche Poblano for myself, and it was as amazing as my friend described. I can't handle spicy anything, and this dish had just the right hint of pepper flavor without making my face turn red and eyes start crying. I also took home a slice of pumpkin pie, and it did not disappoint. About two inches of pumpkin goodness in a homemade crust. I loved the coconut cream, and the pumpkin res presented Papi's well too. read more

Papi's Pies has a five star rating for a reason. It is family run business that cares about the quality of the food they serve, and the experience. The food is simple but fantastic. We had the croque monsieur (super fluffy croissant with a savory sauce and thinly sliced ham), the beef saltenadas (sweet and flaky crust with a light but impactful broth emanating from the beef, veggies, and raisins), and their strawberry rhubarb pie (omg, so good. I'll need to try it warm.) While their space is small it is definitely worth the visit. The only thing that I wasn't big on was the tea. I ordered the lemon ginger, but I must have received the wrong tea because it tasted nothing like what you'd expect. Not a biggie, but now I know tea (a generic brand tea bag) isn't really a worthy companion to the quality food. Thanks for the great experience! We will return. read more

My wife found this place and had to give this place a try. Little hard to find so just a fair warning it literally is this tiny house on a street but worth coming! It is this tiny little house with a few seats inside and a few benches on the outside but the food was oh sooo good! We got the waffles, empanadas, a sandwich and the key lime pie! All the food turned out so good, the waffle was definitely the favorite of the things we ate it was cooked perfectly, crisp on the outside soft and fluffy on the inside! Delicious! The empanadas were different you bite the tip off and spoon out the inside but oh so good, we got the chicken one and the beef one and definitely worth trying and they were sizable also! The pie oh what do you say about the PIE! you come here you get some pie! Key Lime was heavenly! Definitely a place we would come again! read more

Wow, such a great brunch spot. Very cute little restaurant tucked away in Old Town Square Round Rock. Has a beautiful patio. We had the Croque Monsieur Crescent and the Waffle. Both were absolutely fantastic. I also tried the lavender lemonade which was so good I drank a bunch of it down before I remembered to snap a picture. We did not have any room to get dessert but will definitely be back to try one of the many different Pies. read more

This was so on point! A very nice start to a beautiful Saturday brunch with my babies The customer service and atmosphere was warm and friendly. This place is comfortably small and suitable for a weekend day brunch. It gave me a nostalgic feeling of my late grandmother, eating off of her "good plates" and a sense of my late father's style both always exhibiting behavior of a Queen and King. The Quiche Florentine was absolutely delicious with the side salad and my babies went to town on the waffles. I couldn't leave without a slice of pecan PIE. Sorry I'm too positively satiated to take a bite right now but I'm sure I can bet a dollar that it's going to be absolutely delightful. Go! Such a wonderful find!!! Not only were they covid conscious (everything is done outside), the food was amazing, and the staff so hospitable! The lavender lemonade is perfectly balanced and so refreshing. I had the poblano quiche, which was so good. I wasn't ready for it to be gone! The salads came with Parmesan slices and a lovely Italian dressing. Very fresh. My daughter devoured hers. And then dessert. I had key lime pie and my daughter had chocolate cake. Not a crumb left. The eating area outside was really splendid---decorated with rustic decor and a handful of birdhouses that had the cutest birds around. The food itself was good. Though this place is known for their frittatas, quiche, and Benedict's there were a few eggless options. We ordered all of their eggless things with my son. Let me say that everything had a ton of flavor! Everything was well made. My toddler son loved everything from the empanadas to the crepe. What a gem! My 3 year old son and I had a wonderful brunch here yesterday. The staff were so kind, welcoming, and attentive to us. I just loved the decor and ambiance. We sat outside in the shaded garden and were surrounded by beautiful rustic decor, unique handmade birdhouses, and plants and flowers sprinkled around. My son loved looking at all of the interesting decorations and a few birds that came to visit curiously. Most importantly, the food was INCREDIBLE! We are vegetarian and there were plenty of delicious options for us. We had the homemade lavender lemonade, veggie saltenas (kind of like the Bolivian version of an empanada), veggie quiche with side salad, and sweet waffles with berries and cream. The flavors were fantastic and we were so stuffed but finished every last bite! We love supporting local businesses and we were so pleasantly surprised but this wonderful spot. Charming little place. The food was okay. I ordered the waffles which were good. The whipped cream was good. They are overpriced. For $3.75 extra you will receive 3 slices of bacon that were paper thin and tasted like cardboard that obviously came from a precooked box of bacon you find at a grocery store. My daughter found this place on Yelp and I'm glad, she did. We had lunch here. I had the Frittata Lorraine and it came with a salad. Both was delicious!!! Besides, I had the Lavender Lemonade, which was very good, too. We enjoyed looking at the art and eating in this wonderful homey feeling dining room. Another time, we will eat outside, because it is beautiful, too. We took several kinds of cake pieces and pie pieces home. Since I grew up in Germany, I know, what good cake is. I really enjoyed eating the Raspberry Rhubarb pie and the Key Lime Pie piece. Delicious and not too sweet! Then I tried the Pecan pie and I could barely believe it. This place is a hidden gem for sure. I drove past it several years ago, when trying to find a shortcut to work, off I-35. Trust me, there isn't a short cut to La Frontera, off I-35 LOL. The good news is I found this adorable hideaway on Chisholm Trail, and decided to try it. I was not disappointed as it was not only charming, but the sandwiches and quiche were amazing. We had a Quiche Lorraine, Prosciutto and cheese tartine and Croque Monsignor that were very much reminiscent of France . I kinda felt like I was in a cafe in France, maybe Lyon as it reminded me of a restaurant on our travels, I digress. Definitely not at all the same as my last one in Paris, but tasty and worth the splurge on carbs. Stingy on béchamel tho. Doubtful the jambon was French. Cutesy interior and fragrant herbal outdoors. Very quiet indoors. So very quiet, no music & little conversation. Felt lonely, just like my sandwich. It looked so small on that large glass plate with no fruit or garnish. If you want a hidden gem in Austin, this is the place to go! The small setting makes you feel right at home. Very intimate, very welcoming. I was visiting Austin from Maryland and I was craving Saltenas, the Bolivian version of breakfast pot pie, Papi's Pies popped right up and we drove 40 mins from our resort on Lake Travis, man was it worth it. This quaint little cafe reminds me of some of the cafe's I've found off the beaten path in New Orleans. There is patio seating and a few tables inside. It's a very cozy atmosphere. I had a Ruben Sandwich which was so delicious! The meat was sliced very thin then with the combination of the Russian dressing, cheese and sauerkraut, it was the best Ruben I've had in years! I am going to be honest, this place was adorable and tucked away and service was nice but we were not blown away by anything we got unfortunately. I tried a saltena there and it was an interesting mix of savory with a little bit of sweet and it was cooked well although it does take awhile to get it (don't come here if you are on a schedule). I also got a quiche which was good but again nothing to blow me away. I did enjoy their apple pie and chocoflan to go and their macarons were not too bad. I also got one of each of the saltenas to go and unfortunately when I did cook them and my husband took one of his to work he found a hair in the middle of the pastry, doh!
