My Auntie treated us to dinner the day before we were scheduled to leave. Our family dinner was much needed being that it's been so long since we've seen each other. We initially had reservations for four but we changed it to a party of six. We waited about fifteen minutes before we ended up being seated. I'm not sure what's the deal with some of the staff, but the hostess was not friendly. She just started walking past us with a handful of menus. My cousin pointed to her and said follow her. The hostess didn't think twice to greet us or to let us know that the table was ready. We received a complimentary bread basket with butter. Although the bread was delicious it would've been nice if the bread was sliced. We ordered drinks and apps. The apps consisted of Shrimp and Crawfish Fondeaux as well as the Crab and Spinach Dip. My cousin enjoyed her fondeaux and we enjoyed the dip. It was perfectly seasoned with a decent amount of lump crab. For dinner we ordered the Crab Claws with Dirty Rice, Fried Shrimp Platter with French Fries, Texas Redfish Pontchartrain, Pappadeaux Platter, Kid's Macaroni & Cheese, and a Kid's Fried Shrimp with French Fries. Every time I dine at Pappadeaux, the food is questionable. This visit wasn't any different. Our order was simple, but leave it to Pappa to get it wrong. My lady ordered one catfish filet and a baked potato, I ordered a shrimp po-boy sandwich with seafood gumbo. Our waitress was MIA, a majority of our visit. It took her forever to officially come to our table for our drink order. Once our food was brought out, I needed assistance as the shrimp on my sandwich was cold & the gumbo was lukewarm. Our waitress was nowhere to be found, so my lady walked over to another employee to ask for the manager. I don't want my food to burn my mouth, but I do want it to taste fresh and hot. The manager came to our table to apologize for the inconvenience of the cold food. Then another sandwich & cup of soup were brought out for me. The shrimp was hot this time, but the gumbo had no chance. After two bites of the sandwich, I was ready for a to-go box. I knew I wasn't going to eat the remainder of my meal, so I offered the other half of my sandwich along with the gumbo to a homeless gentleman. Pappadeaux prices are too expensive to be serving mediocre cuisine. We were offered a free dessert but declined. This will be my last time dining here. Food for me is generally fives star. The service is four to five stars in most cases. However, there are a couple drawbacks to this once great ambiance. It seems to have fallen a bit, not inside but outside. When you go for pickup, be aware of all the lazy people parking in the pickup spaces who probably need to burn a few calories by taking a longer walk to the restaurant. This seems to be mainly a south Dallas thing as I don't see it up north like in these parts. Also, I arrived for a pickup today where there was a burned out vehicle in the parking lot. It had been several years since I had been to Pappadeaux, I was in the area for meetings and decided to stop in for lunch. It was SO good. Walking into the restaurant from the parking lot you wind through calming water features and nicely decorated green space. The weather was pretty pleasant so I decided to sit on the patio. I ordered the gumbo and poboy special on the lunch menu, the portions were large and delicious. The gumbo had sausage shrimp and crab with a delicious roux. My family and I had a 6:30 p.m. reservation on 9/15/25. We arrived and were seated by the hostess who let us know that our server's name was Ryan, and he would be bringing us our menus shortly. We waited 10 minutes without any service from Ryan. No greeting, menus or drinks were offered. During this time, we noticed several other tables being serviced around us, as the restaurant was not too busy at this point . My daughter went up to the hostess stand and requested menus and our server. The hostess said that she would go get our server and menus. After about 5 more minutes the hostess came to our table with menus but there was no sign of our server or apologies for the wait. After a few more minutes we had someone come to our table (I believe his name was DiMario or something similar) and asked if we needed anything from the bar. He took my daughters drink order, offered up small talk, and then seemed to realize that our server was standing behind him helping the table beside us. He then walks over and says something to our server Ryan. Not once did Ryan turn around and acknowledge our presence. No apology or explanation was offered by Ryan as to why he had yet to visit our table. This is absolutely unacceptable. There were two other tables that got sat and serviced AFTER we had been sat. I have never felt so disrespected and invisible in my life! After almost 30 minutes of being ignored, my family decided that we were not going to give this establishment our business and we left, especially as we made reservations. What started out as a joyous celebratory meal was quickly ruined by the unprofessionalism displayed by Ryan. We are very understanding individuals, but this was a terrible experience. Went in today to celebrate my cousins anniversary. I'm not sure if the waiter was new but we could not get a correct order. A guest decided to walk out of a door assigned an Emergency exit right next to our table which caused the alarm to go off and it took 2 people to figure out how to turn it off. We had to ask for bread. They gave us no dinnerware for the bread once it was delivered. It took too long for our orders to be delivered to us and the orders had to be corrected. A simple salad that was missing most of the ingredients (eggs, avocado, tomatoes and bacon) was corrected by bringing us a side of the missing ingredients instead of a new salad. 10 minutes after delivering the side, the waiter came and removed it. No questions asked, just removed it from our table. I asked for water with LEMON, I got a lime instead. We had to ask for dressing more than once and the kicker...I asked for a margarita. The waiter took almost 20 minutes to bring my drink and immediately, the drink tasted off. Something was not right. That drink resulted in me spending the rest of my visit in the bathroom vomiting everything we had eaten. Needless to say I didn't even take my to go box. I spent over 140.00 today and it all ended up in the toilet of the restaurant. The only good thing was the waitress coming into the bathroom with a glass of cool water to help me while I vomited into your toilet. This was an awful experience. The service at this restaurant was top notch! Food was served timely--considering how busy this place was and you can definitely sense how well coordinated the staff was. We were seated quickly with an advanced reservation. The environment was very cozy and welcoming. Our food was outstanding and freshly made to order. Everything from the temperature of the food, flavor and portions was really good--excellent quality. So many more menu items to try so definitely will be coming back. Flew into town for a Dallas game and stayed at the hotel right behind this restaurant. It's a very popular place so expect to wait a bit if you are a walk in. We waited about 15 mins the first night (Saturday) at around 630pm, which we thought was early for dinner. There was still quite a crowd. We were seated and were able to quickly put in our order. The portions were quite large, so my dad and i were able to split the Atlantic salmon dish (came with shrimp, scallops and crawfish and dirty rice). We also got the crab and spinach dip to start. Super delish! The 2nd night we went, i did a reservation for 815pm since i knew it would be a popular place after the game was finished, and i was right. After about another 5 mins, we received a text and were seated. When we got our seat we were greeted by Devin who was such a sweet waiter. We ordered side cars which were amazing and food that didn't come out for 45 mins and when it did it was lukewarm and undercooked. My friend sent her undercooked fish back and instead of sending out a new one quickly, she waited 20+mins and just are her beans and rice in the meantime and eventually told them to forget it. As I was eating my fish, I noticed it too was undercooked and stopped eating. I let Devin know and he took it off the bill. This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I had heard so many great things, but this was not the best experience. The noodles are huge. That was different for me. I wasn't expecting the noodles to be so big. One portion is definitely shareable if you wanted to try more than one thing. I had leftovers for another meal. Now the key lime pie is probably the best I've ever had! The crust, sweet tangy flavor, and presentation in a "to go" box was pretty. Been here a good number of times. It a more upscale Cajun seafood restaurant that is a classic spot we usually hit up. Service is usually phenomenal and if they do mess anything up like forgetting to put in an order, they for sure make it right. Their gator bites are a classic and are good, but their star of the appetizer show is their crab cakes. These are some of the best crab cakes you can get!! Great crab taste and flavor, not the cheap ones you'd get that are filled with bread stuffing. My coworkers absolutely love their dirty rice but I'm a huge fan of their sautéed spinach, my favorite side from here. I've had their huge portion dishes like their Texas Redfish that comes with a bunch of other seafood like (fresh pealed) crawfish but it usually too buttery and filling for me. Though my favorite was their seared ahi tuna that they no longer have had for a very long time, in my most recent visit I got their seared salmon with shrimp and scallops which was very similar. They specially seared in their sweet and spicy sauce which was more like a sweet chili per my request. The salmon this time was seared perfectly and wasn't flakey like it was in the past, so props to the cook on Feb 7th because I haven't had it this good in quite a while from here. But only came with ONE scallop so was not too happy but didn't care enough at the time to let the staff know. Their scallops in general are okay, not as good as I'd like so I wouldn't recommend just getting a dish that features scallops. This location is HORRIBLE!!!! Waiter took 30 mins to bring our drinks and 40 mins to bring butter and bread. My salad had cardboard like paper in it. When I told my waiter, he responded by saying oh wow. I'm actually concerned about getting sick because of my experience. I have never had this problem with any other Pappadeaux's, I will NEVER ever go back to this location. Service is slow, the waiters are forgetful, and there's not enough cooks. Most places are short on staff, but to be near the AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field service should be better. It's ridiculous that everyone I saw including my party had to get to-go boxes. My annual trip to Texas always includes a much anticipated trip to Pappadeaux. To be honest, this trip and the trip last year left a little to be desired. First the service, our server was polite and efficient and I couldn't ask for better service. This evening I ordered the shrimp and catfish fillets and to be honest, the catfish was greasy and breaded quite heavy. The shrimp were decent and were cleaned well (which concerned me from someone else's recent review). My meal was pretty pricey but not unreasonable, but the upcharge to get a baked potato vs. the French fries that come standard, was a bit much to me. It made a pricey meal unreasonable to me although the baked potato was very large and dressed well. I ordered dessert to go, a praline cheesecake and it was the highlight of the meal. My coworker ordered the stuffed shrimp and did not like it. To be honest, I ordered the stuffed shrimp last year and did not like it either. She ended up throwing away most of her food, which is a shame because she, more than any of us, was looking forward to her meal! I hope Pappadeaux moves toward the way things used to be. read more

Enjoyed the TEXAS REDFISH PONTCHARTRAIN, WILD CAUGHT MAHI TCHOUPITOULAS, and Caesar salad. Big portions, flavorful and saucy food. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. (Not too overcooked like most restaurants) The salad had crisp, fresh lettuce leaves and an unique Caesar dressing with a hint of mustard. The meal also came with a freshly baked baguette wrapped in a white napkin with a tin of whipped butter on the side.
