I would rate this at 3.5 stars. Giving it a three star rating would be inaccurate. I went to this place twice when I was on a business trip to Arlington. It was adjacent to the hotel I was staying at and being that it was hotter than a blast furnace outside, it was easy. I sat at the bar. The bar was large and comfortable. The service was good. I ordered a Manhattan on my first visit that was not made well. It must be a TX thing. I didn't have a good Manhattan anywhere. They had a good selection of ice cold draft beers, whiskey and vodkas. The food was good. They provide bread upon request. It is a LOT of bread. I had a Caesar to start on both nights. It was well made. I had a small filet on both visits with some nicely prepared string beans. The steak was prepared well and had good flavor. Value was good. read more

This has been one of my 2 favorite restaurants to go to on Saturday night for the year and everything is always excellent till tonight. There was a short wait for me to get a table for 1 and the hostess suggested I sit at the "rail" which is in the bar. I waited for 10 minutes timed and never got a menu or any interaction. I walked out and told the hostess there was no one waiting so I should have been offered a table . The problem is Saltgrass does not want solo diners. There were 2 bartenders with 6 customers so I was probably there responsibility, it gave me a chance to try a new place 2 minutes away that had good food and excellent service. read more

Went to my favorite place, Saltgrass, for my birthday lunch. Actually took a $20 Lyft ride to get there. It was early and the restaurant was near empty. I had a bottle of Dt Dr Pepper in my hand 1/4 full. The hostess said "would you like a trash can?" And told me I could not take my drink to the table. I threw it away and went to my seat. But it just didn't feel like the place I wanted to spend my birthday. So we left. I really don't think the hostess cared one way or another. Walked down the street to Boston's Pizza. He we very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Clearly knows his regulars and multitasks well. I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the warm loaf of bread and sweetened butter served at this restaurant.. Absolutely delicious! The steak bites melted in my mouth.The meat was so delicious. It was almost like they had cows out back grazing in the pasture. The creamy chimmichurri sauce was a unique and delicious addition. We went here for lunch and had an amazing dining experience! My husband got the steak and raved about how amazing it was. We ordered queso and chips without the briquette to share. I ordered the grilled shrimp with a side of brussel sprouts. It was all so delicious and so filling! The service was exceptional! Phil was our waiter and he was so friendly! We both really enjoyed our conversation with him. The restaurant had a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere! The food was phenomenal, the service was exceptional, and we are grateful for this recommendation that came from the hotel front desk staff. Shouldn't have expected much from a chain restaurant, and my server (wish I knew his name he never told me) (sat at the very front left hand side large party 12/21) (dark skin glasses with tie on the back 5'9) made sure those already low expectations were still not met! It's crazy having to ask a server to refill my bread and butter (both of which he dropped on the ground and chose not to replace until I asked). Incredibly lack luster service, when we ordered he notified us that we couldn't order chicken fried steak bc it was 86'd. Then after my aunt spent the next 5 minutes rearranging her order he goes "yeah, I just wanted to see you sweat, you can still get the lunch portion of chicken fried steak. Hahaha" What a loser. After a whole day of touring (first w/ a VIP guided tour of AT&T Stadium then a guided tour of the Cowboys training facility at the Star in Frisco), we decided to find a casual steakhouse near our hotel, literally 5 min away. There were a lot of higher rated spots but they required a more formal dress code and we hadn't packed those types of clothes on our trip. The choice came down to Longhorn's, Texas Roadhouse and Saltgrass. My Google and Yelp research revealed that Saltgrass seemed to have on aggregate the slightly higher rated sentiment online so we settled on Saltgrass. So we strolled in and noticed there were quite a few ppl waiting in the lobby and we started thinking that the wait would be long but the hostess told us it would only be 15-20 min for a table which was pleasantly surprising. I ordered the biggest ribeye I could find on the menu. My dad got a 12 oz-er and my brother decided to try country fried steak for the first time. I appreciated the butter finish on top of the steaks! My ribeye was cooked 90% perfectly (I asked for medium rare). There was a good amount of meat near the rib cap, radiating outward from the bone, that could've prolly used more cook time as it was edging more towards rare but I can borderline tolerate rare so it was ok I guess. I have to say, the country fried steak my bro got was not good. My dad and I tried some of it and it had the texture of ground beef??? It was also extremely well done and SUPER dry on the inside which made it difficult to swallow without drinking something. Smoked mac n' cheese side was delicious. Al dente noodles and very cheesy. Ceasar salad was mid (typical store-bought sauce). Brussel sprouts underrated (nicely roasted). Sweet potato fries could've been crispier. Our server Jonathan, was very attentive to us throughout the night. Checked up on us constantly. When explaining the soups of the day to us he forgot to mention that one was a creamy soup and the other was a non-creamy one (just a future tip to provide that info to the patrons as well ^_^). Btw, I can't forget how tasty that Tito's texas tea was. Felt like I was drinking a refreshing juice! I was prolly buzzed after leaving the resto and didn't even realize it LOL. The older female at the hostess desk was VERY RUDE and condescending to our party and others. We are members of the Landry loyalty club and dine frequently at their restaurants. My wife and I celebrated Valentines day here and so glad we had a reservation. We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time and our waitress, Brianna, can right over to take our drink and appetizer orders. For appetizer we had the crab cakes and they were fantastic. There was plenty of crab meat and the sauce on top was a good compliment. I entrée I had the Cajun Steak meal and baked potatoes. The steak was only OK because it had some fat, but too much grisstle and was frustrating too eat. The potatoe was loaded and really good. Let me start by saying the service personnel weight staff is excellent. I have never had an issue with any of them at any of the restaurants Salt Grass specific that I have patronized, as Landry club card member, I must say since 2021 the service as far as meal preparations and takeout and pick up order staff, has been horrendous. It has dropped off precipitously the carrot cake, which was one of my favorite items prior to 2020 became something that doesn't even resemble carrot cake at this point. I don't know if there was a change in the recipe the ingredients or the preparation it is horrible. Lastly, my wife and I would use this restaurant on a once every 30-60 day basis. And I would order consistently the largest steak available be a cowboy cut steak or Pet ribeye with all trimmings three sides my wife and order salmon and Oscar with three sides along with drinks cocktails at least four between the two of us with the average ticket price of 189 to 200 before tip and tax. The last three times I've eaten in the restaurant the food coming out of the kitchen has been sub standard the cut of the steak the per preparation and attention to detail is lacking tremendously and don't order takeout. The last three takeout have been beyond horrible. It says if they take food from customers that came back reheat and send out for takeout. It's been atrocious to say the least overcooked steaks, salmon, Oscar, that look like it had been sitting on the line me before 45 minutes to an hour and then reheat it. The Oscar is left of the order the brussels sprouts to burnt the salad is just thrown together it's it's not up to the standards that I have come to expect from Landry's restaurants stated I am a Landry club card holding member for at least 15 years. How many times have I been to Saltgrass? A lot. My family went to celebrate my sister's birthday. We went to Arlington for a ball game and our team was on TV. Our server, Unis, was helpful and sat us down near a tv and put the game on. We ordered the fries appetizer. It was good, but, there cheese wasn't melt enough to my liking. It was still good. I ordered the rack of ribs with mash potatoes and side salad. The ribs were falling off the bones...as if I My sister ordered the bacon covered steak. It came out undercooked. It came back with the bacon fallen off and still undercooked. It was as though the kitchen nooked in the microwave. My sister went to the kitchen and spoke with the manager. (As both of us have worked in the industry, we expect food to be as ordered and hot). The manager came to the table. Made sure it was as she ordered and it was. He also took it off our bill, which was extremely kind and unexpected. The servers had several plates sent back to kitchen. Which can be challenging for the servers. It is out of their control, but customers often complain about it. When servers communicate with the table, it's less than a headache. Unis communicated with our table. read more

But we wanted a Steak so we decided to come back today. It wasn't nothing getting in compared to last night. We were seated immediately. This place has a rustic and ranch ambiance. Our Waitress greeted us and took our orders it was three of us. We ordered several Appetizers and our main dishes. (See Pics). We all ordered Steaks and they were all cooked perfectly. I just stopped in for some direction. I'm on the road a lot eating in and out of a lot of restaurants. I never take the time to write a review good or bad. Today, I am posting my first review. tonight we celebrated my husband's 82 birthday at Saltgrass on Lamar in Arlington,Tx. my husband had a medium ribeye with a salad, fried green beans and a baked potato. it was wonderful. I had a medium rare NY strip , baked potato, Mac and cheese and potato soup. everything tasted wonderful, but, the strip was chewy. I told our great ,attentive waiter Abner and he went to the manager Camden and explained the problem. there was no hesitation, Camden was very respectful and immediately put in an order for a new meal. the service was was fantastic and the problem was respectfully addressed and corrected. also they have a photographer taking photos for a minimal fee. we were thrilled with ours. my only suggestion was to add the name and location of the restaurant to the photo. it was a lovely evening, thanks to excellent employees. We were shocked to find a wait when we walked over to this location from our hotel next door, at 7 pm on a Monday... but we were able to find sears at the bar and order drinks while we waited, and the bar staff were great... so were the Tito's Texas Teas! (16/10) - YUM!! We were seated within the expected time and our server took good care of us. Be warned- the Jalapeño shrimp starter are HUGE! Each one was the size of a small fist! They were OK, but didn't wow me (6/10). The ribeye & center cut steaks were of course divine & cooked as requested (10/10 -- ribeye definitely won on overall tenderness and taste)The smoked Mac n cheese was interesting, but I don't love things with smoke flavor added... my kiddo poached it and loved it though! Salads were standard but good, and I had to order my 7-year-old more shrimp after he devoured the kids chicken tenders & shrimp meal... and the extra shrimp took about 20 more minutes. We ordered the chocolate cake to go, but it tasted store bought when we ate it later that night. Cake was quite dry (5/10). We had 12 people show up at 6 pm on a Wednesday to this location and they handled us like champs. They were able to seat us within 10 minutes of us arriving in a part of the restaurant that allowed us to talk and hold conversation amongst our work group. Additionally, they split the check by seat without asking accurately which is increasingly rare. So, overall their professionalism and ability to take care of guests are above average. Bread - Their standard appetizer bread is pretty good. It competes and in some way is superior to the "Australian chain restaurants" that are pretty famous. It is tasty, savory, and filling. Be careful to have more than 1-2 loaves for a table of 4. Their meal portions are sizable. So, you don't want to spoil your meal. Grilled Chicken - I had their grilled chicken with Brussel sprouts. The Grilled chicken was good. Nothing special, but tasty and well made. Their Brussel sprouts were above average but, nothing special either. I would recommend it. But, I can't give the full throat YOU MUS HAVE endorsement. I would probably explore other options the next time I went. Pro Tip: Tons of Parking. So no worries there. Pro Tip: They have a few specialty margaritas that are LARGE and tasty. I would highly recommend you have one with your meal if you are of the legal age of course ;-). read more
