    Soul food eggrolls
    Whitney J.

I just did not like it. I think the overall concept of the restaurant is nice, but I didn't like the food overall. My husband ordered the catfish and it was pretty good. I ordered the soul food eggrolls and the thanksgiving eggrolls. I think the soul food eggrolls were way too sweet, almost off putting. Our server was really nice but I could tell he was a bit overwhelmed. We waited at least 10-15 min before being acknowledged at our table. We ordered a couple of desserts to go, including the peach cobbler, banana pudding and the cake of the day. Banana pudding tasted very good, while the peach cobbler and the cake of the day were not impressive. I'm not sure what type of cake it was, but my husband said it tasted old, like the icing was rancid. Unfortunately, Jordyn's was a miss for us and we won't be returning.

Fried chicken entree with macaroni and green beans. The drink was a cosmo martini.

To start off the food wasn't bad at all. It could have been better but it also could have been worse. I've had other southern comfort soul food places in Houston and I would probably choose them before Jordyn's. I will say the lamb chops were delicious. The customer service could be a lot better. It took 5+ mins just for me and my friend to get acknowledged and seated because the hostess wasn't in the front which was confusing because the place was pretty empty. Also be prepared for the taxes, gratuity and the "service fees" they will add to your check. My bill went from $35 to $44 with the extra fees.

A nice sweet roll with mac and cheese and yams that made a great combo was really good especially for a starter.

    THREE POT ROAST EMPANADAS

What drew me to Jordyn's Soul Cafe was a food review featuring their famous oxtails and mac & cheese and let me tell you, it was worth it. The Three Pot Roast Empanadas were so filling and flavorful I wanted more. But, I needed to save room for the full course. Instead of ordering the Oxtails and Mac & Cheese, because even though I wanted it, who needs all that cheese right now, lol, I ordered the Oxtails entree and added a side of Collard Greens and Candied Yams and that did it for me. However, I was a little disappointed that the oxtails and the crab meat in the fried rice were salty. Such a shame. The atmosphere was booming in the best way. Good R&B playing while everyone eats, drinks, and vibes. They also offer Hookah, but only in a certain section of the restaurant. So if you want the full experience, definitely make a reservation. Parking is valet only from what I can see and it's $10, but it seems the most convenient option for the area.

Date Night with The Hubs. He made reservations, which was encouraged instead of just showing up. Ambiance was very nice, jamming to RnB music. My Hubs ordered the smokey drink I believe and I settled for sweet tea. Now the sweet tea I had wasn't good so I returned it and played it safe with water. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and deviled eggs with shrimp. Now I thought they forgot to put 2 shrimp on my eggs but the waitress said they only put 4 (insert confused face) nevertheless both were delicious I just wish the tomatoes had an option to add a seafood sauce. We then ordered entrees, i ordered the crab stuffed salmon with Mac and cheese and yams...Delicious! The Hubs ordered the smothered snapper, he loved it just prefer they put the sauce on the side. 9/10, we will come back again.

    Catfish and grits

This was a great new place. The catfish was fried to perfection and when paired with the grits delicious. The service was wonderful quite worth the price. Great ambiance. Definitely recommend if you are in the Houston area

I don't really know where to start, so I'll just begin with what wasn't my favorite and that was the lack of parking - this place is obviously very popular and parking is at a minimum, so keep that in mind. They do offer valet which helps, but I wish there was more self-parking options than what's already there. The next thing that could use improvement was the greeting by the hostess, it was a bit on the drier side, not very warm and welcoming but the checkin process was smooth. Now that, that is out of the way...what made me fall in love with this place is the food and the table service. Our server was hospitable, lovely and patient (considering this was our first time coming). Loved her! Even one of the Cooks came out to bring food to our table and he was the best! The food...the food!!!! It was more than a meal, it was memories on a plate! Portions are large, and we were all torn in what to order. We started with appetizers and decided on their Thanksgiving Eggrolls, Pot Roast Empanadas, and Salmon Eggrolls...omg!! Each bite was an explosion of flavor!! The Thanksgiving Eggrolls (filled with greens, mac, and dressing) transported me back to Grandma/Grandpa's on Thanksgiving holiday with a house full of family - my Grandma, mom and her Sisters all in the Kitchen cooking, my Grandpa and Uncles gathered around the TV watching the game, and the cousins running around the house. Lol. The Pot Roast Empanadas brought me back to Sunday dinners feasting on a roast my mom spent hours making. All of it felt like warm hugs! For my entree, I selected the oxtail mac and cheese! A big hearty bowl of cheesy Mac and oxtails shredded through out, and topped with more oxtails. If you want your oxtail fix, Jordyn's has it all, from oxtail pizza, to oxtail fried rice, and more! Almost sinful how good all the food was! I selected a Piña Colada for a cocktail - though refreshing it wasn't like your standard looking/tasting creamy Colada, but definitely wasn't bad at all! If you haven't tried Jordyn's what the heck are you waiting for?!? Jordyn's is not cheap, so save those coins! You'll feast like royalty here and forget all about the lack of parking and any other issue there may be. Lol. To say I will be back is an understatement...I'm already planning my next visit already. Make your reservation now...you're welcome!Lol...Enjoy!!

Randomly drove by & noticed this establishment some weeks ago & then coincidently we decided to dine here for lunch on a Thursday, it also happened to be during their happy hour. Right off the bat, the service was nice & there was plenty of room for seating (3 dining spaces, all 3 different vibes). We sat in the main dining area. The music was greatttt (r&b, soul) and not too loud (IYKYK). Now let me just say, the menu is stacked with options! The indecisiveness was working in full overtime but finally we settled on a range of items. For appetizers: Spicy Buffalo wings Jerk Shrimp Taco Entree: Southern Smothered Red Snapper Jerk Lamb Chops Entrees come with 2 sides each so we got: Mash potatoes Broccolini Mac and cheese Rice & Peas Everything listed above was at least an 8.5/10. Would recommend everything The stars of the show however: smothered snapper (if you're okay with a whole fish & don't mind the bones), Mac & cheese & jerk shrimp tacos !! Things to be mindful of: parking probably isn't fun during evenings & weekends. Thankfully at the time we went we could easily self-park in the parking lot but by the time we left around 5:30 the lot had already turned to 'valet only'. Lastly, depending on your entree + side choice the salt content may be a little on the high side. Mash & broccolini were great choices for neutralized the salt from the main entrees we got. Nevertheless, very yummy experience. Would go again & would recommend going (esp on a weekday afternoon lol).

Had a nice dinner here for my bday. My waiter was very sweet and attentive. The manager was accommodating when my oxtails weren't right . The marketing manager made sure my food presentation was just like they advertise . The setting was amazing . I'll definitely be back again.

I was really disappointed with the service here. Let's start with the food... Greens: the greens were seasoned well, however they were missing acidity. Some vinegar would've been good in them. Cornbread: the cornbread was cakey, and had good flavor. Love is: A cocktail with tequila and raspberry liquor.. delicious! The service is what made me bring my rating down to a 3. The waiter was almost nonexistent .. they forgot to bring us waters to the table, we ordered a second round of drinks, and never received them, and it wasn't very hospitable. There's an automatic 20% gratuity, but my visit did not even deserve that. Plus beware, there's only valet parking, which is $10.

Great experience from entering through dining. Our waitress was Bri and she was extremely attentive and helpful with recommendations. The menu is extremely diverse providing something for everyone but can also make it difficult to choose a meal. We ordered the wings small bites for appetizers and they were cooked to perfection. For our meals we had the salmon Alfredo, fried chicken, jerk lamb chops, collard greens, Mac, and candy yams. Everything was delicious and seasoned to a T. Certainly a must try.

This has been on my list for a while and I finally made it! Right off back i have to start with 4 stars because I hate to park where I have to pay knowing the amount im about to spend lots of money just to eat. Its 10 dollars to valet. We walked in and were greeted. It was a nice atmosphere. The music was good but a little loud.. but jamming. The service started off cool but slowed down mid visit. Had to ask for a couple of things a few times but eventually got it. Now the food.. everything was good and everything came out smoking. That macaroni was on point. Those salmon eggrolls were amazing. I mean everything tasted great. My Hennessey drink was strong and good. I will be back.

I wish I would have read the reviews before going here. Everyone is right. The food was just okay. The lady that served us was nice and friendly. Only one stall for the bathroom was a total turnoff.

Considering the recent shutter of other places (#2) within the hospitality umbrella, it's not too big of a surprise that Wooster's would also be in the crosshairs. The space was always a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, which combined with its dedicated parking lot made this an easy drinking outlet for all kinds of occasions. The intimate indoor space was lovely and well ventilated, and it felt like there wasn't ever a moment where the bar wasn't slammed. The outdoor space was much of the same, with lots of tables and chairs, and even the trendy swing chairs facing the city. The only thing that was a little bit of a liability were those open flame heaters; it would only take on person to accidentally walk into one or trip onto it. For libations, the drinks were well priced, well made, and always potent. I appreciated the aesthetics, as well as the bartenders who made them. The only part that wasn't exciting was the limited food menu, which did its part as munchies for the drink heavy crowd, but was mediocre otherwise. The space is already undergoing the new facelift of a separate concept, one of which I hope will do the area justice, just as much as Wooster's did. ____________ (#1) The Kirby Group. (#2) R.I.P. One comes, above all, for the atmosphere and the splendidly crafted cocktails. We sampled but little from the kitchen, though we did partake of the sausages. I went because this was the only bar open during Labor Day when I had guest visiting. So I would say it's a pretty nice location, considering the fact that it is always consistently open. It looks like the drink that I ordered is also no longer on the menu. The bar prides itself on having a rotating meal changing menu so I think that's a lot of fun when it comes to trying new drinks and new combinations and it truly shows the artistry of the bartender. There was the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior was more of a dimmer, elegant and darker tone. I can see it being pretty classic if you were to go at night time. Service (3/5): While we had a waitress, she was slow to greet us and slow to check up on us. It's a small bar and there isn't a ton of seating so it's not like she was overwhelmed. For a fancy hotel, you expect better. Maybe sitting at the bar is better than sitting at some seats as we did. Ambiance (4/5): The Colombe d'Or is a beautiful hotel and Bar No. 3 reflects that. It's an elegant spot to grab a drink, although small. Food (N/A): While there are expensive items on the menu, I had dinner earlier that night so I was on a liquid diet. Drinks (3/5): Bar No. 3 is known for its cocktails so I focused on the cocktail list. The list isn't large but it features a nice selection. Like the food, you're going to pay a premium. I enjoyed my adult beverage but felt like it was a bit overpriced. Hitting up hotel bars isn't a common occurrence in Houston unless you're a traveler.
