Food was not good at all. Gumbo was very bland. Boudin eggrolls were a bit off putting and tasted old Waffle fries w brisket wasn't bad but the fries weren't fresh and the brisket was a bit cold Drinks were waaay to sweet imo We did have to ask about happy hour in order to get the menu had we known there' was a happy hour menu we would've ordered more from the happy hour menu because it has different stuff than the regular menu. Service okay our server did forget a lemonade that was ordered first thing. No big deal. But lmk about the auto grat and how much it is. After I asked I was told it was a 12% auto grat which is def not enough for the server on a 72$ so I tipped an extra $10 making the tip about 18-19$. We were the only ones in the building ambience was okay I get the feeling you come here more for shots beers and the liquor tower. read more

I came to this place to try the shrimp catfish Po boy sandwich here. I got a side of waffle fries. It was nice you could combine both seafood items instead of individual for a small upcharge. The shrimp batter was very good and the shrimp was tender and not rubbery at all. The catfish was very flaky and breading was nice and thing but crispy. The overall sandwich had a lot of good flavor with veggies. The tartar sauce was ok with the seafood and the waffle fries were decent. The staff was nice and attentive. The place feels like a chill lounge place with sports in the background with hookah and whatnot. Definitely not a place for a quiet dinner. read more

First thing is first, make a reservation before coming and try to come at the time they open in the morning rather than later so you don't have to worry about the rush that comes between noon-1pm. They open at 11am. I loved the bingo in between music and the DJ really had us rocking. There's plenty of free street parking in the area on Sundays. Overall the service was fine but they took quite a while just to bring our food and we were the first ones there. Our server was nice but when it got busy he did not come around and I had to flag someone to get him. I was disappointed with my experience. They advertised a Juneteenth special on Instagram, but when we arrived and asked about it, we were told it only applied if you were wearing a Juneteenth shirt. That requirement was never mentioned in the post, which felt misleading. On top of that, the service was very slow. Our server rarely checked on us, drinks took about 25 minutes to arrive, and our hookah took around 40 minutes wings and fries took an hour. Overall, the lack of communication and poor service made for a frustrating experience. I hope they improve their customer service and make promotional details clearer in the future. read more

Gotti's is a nice choice if you're looking for good food, drinks, and a lively vibe for brunch in Houston. I have gone twice now (once for dinner and brunch) and enjoyed myself each time. One thing to note, even with a reservation, you still may have to wait a bit to be seated. Our reservation was for 2:30 pm and we were not seated until 3 pm due to a large party ahead of us. It wasn't the worst thing, we used the time to look over the menu, but at the same time there isn't much of a waiting area inside so you'll likely be in the way of a lot of the in and out traffic. There also really isn't a bar area, so it was maybe 4-5 parties all bunched up near the front. Once seated, the atmosphere is very upbeat and fun which is great for a brunch where you want the vibes but maybe not the large crowd of people. It can get very loud, though, as there is a DJ and an MC on the mic. They both add to the energy, but I found myself practically shouting to talk to my two friends at a four-top table. They also had a segment where they gave out free shots which is cool, they've done this both times I was there. I'd recommend you to know what you want when you sit down, because even though that was our strategy we still ended up waiting another 30 minutes for even our mimosa tower to come to the table. We also ordered hot lemon pepper wings, beignet bites, and Cajun balls. Actually, received a second complimentary order of the beignet bites due to the wait which was appreciated. We all ordered the fried catfish, shrimp, and grits with an order of collard greens on the side. FIRE. Parking is another minor (or major) inconvenience but it's due to the location. Very typical for Houston, different lots charge different prices for parking especially when there are events going on, so you may drop about $20-30 before you even get to the door. Give yourself a little extra time to figure that part out. Overall, Gotti's brunch is worth the visit if you're looking for great food, good drinks, and a high energy vibe. When we walked into Gotti's, the vibe shifted to "quaint but cool," the kind of spot you low-key root for as soon as you sit down. Now, do I wish they had a real bar? Yes, because I am a bar-girl at heart. But the service-area bar came through for us anyway, and it turned into VIP seating to watch everything behind the scenes. They had Tuesday specials going, so we grabbed Espolòn Blanco shots -- one with salt, one with sugar. And here's the kicker: Their salt is colored blue. Most places color the sugar. Gotti's understood the assignment but rewrote it. Shoutout to the crew because service was tight: Angela -- the manager holding it all together. Daphne -- light-skinned with red hair, made our shots with love and wrist action. Zoe -- bun high, checkout smooth, no notes. Gotti's has been on my "try" list for some time now. My friend and I finally got around to it this past weekend. When we opened the entrance door we were met with blaring, loud music. The hostess greeted us and asked question but I could not hear him. He literally had to talk in my ear! For my friend and I to talk to one another, we had to yell! I seriously left this place with a soar throat. Skip to the food...i ordered the catfish and shrimp platter. The breading on the food was amazing, shrimp were cooked well. The fish? I've been here twice now, and I must say I truly enjoyed the food. Everything we've ordered the flavor was on point, and the drinks are divine. The food and the vibes we had were top tier. Our waitress was great, she gave her recommendations and help us navigate through the menu. The DJ was playing all the best music creating a fun atmosphere. The Red Velvet waffles and chicken were amazing! The softness of the waffle paired well with the juicy crunchy chicken wings. I asked my friend who lives there for a recommendation, and she told me that Gotti's was the perfect place for brunch--and she was absolutely right! Parking wasn't the easiest; I recommend taking a rideshare or carpooling since it's mostly street parking in the area. We looked on open table for somewhere near by with an opening for 9 ladies. We were seated immediately and service was on the spot. Wish I could leave a zero star review. The service was terrible, the food was less than subpar, and tbh I felt judged the whole time. It just felt like no one wanted to serve us and everyone was judging us. Our empanadas had no meat in them. 10-15 minutes after we left my fiancé started violently throwing up. It's $20 for a large Big Daddy bowl (high protein) that's supposed to have chicken, shrimp, crawfish, and sausage. I ordered it with white rice. I was very disappointed when it came. The container probably was not secured properly and it fell during transport. So the gumbo was all over the bottom of the bag. I managed to salvage a little of it that wasn't completely out of the container. I expected for the gumbo and rice to be separate. It was together and it was a lot of rice. So I feel like there barely was any gumbo. It also was full of chicken and sausage. I didn't see any shrimp or crawfish. On top of all that, it was a tad too salty. Hubby ordered the burger only because it was buy one get one free. Otherwise it would not be worth getting only a burger with no sides that come with it for $13 dollars. First time exploring Houston. After a day of interrupted flights, exhausted all we wanted was a decent meal. The online menu appealed to us so we stopped in. The paper menu was very hard to read because it was very worn and small print. We were greeted and seated immediately. The music was extremely loud and you had to yell to be heard. I ended up with a slight headache. We ordered catfish shrimp over rice with gotti sauce on the side. This was perfect and plated very well. We had a cup of spicy seafood cajun rice but had to send it back because it was toooo spicy for my palate. Ordered grilled shrimp with mac and cheese. When I tell you this was some of the worst food I have had in a while, oh my god. So I was craving some Cajun pasta right, I'd heard decent things about Gotti's so I thought I would give it a try. In my mind, I was ordering a creamy pasta, seasoned to perfection, with crawfish and shrimp. Instead, I received a lukewarm pasta, with no sauce, absolutely 0 seasoning, no crawfish and overcooked (and possibly spoiled) fish. I should have known it was going to be bad when I could smell the fish through the bag and didn't smell anything else. I don't know who they have in that kitchen, but they need to find some new chefs. I've had better microwaved pasta from HEB that cost me only 5$. I paid 23$ for pasta at Gotti's... I made the mistake of trusting Google reviews and not coming to Reddit, I understand why they are below 4 stars and honestly, I'm surprised they've even achieved that. read more

My beer not being draft but a draft picture on the menu I am giving a 2. Because draft is better and for $6.95 I deserve a draft. Now my burger I didn't like it. The big ole piece of cheese that wasn't melted is crazy to me. I am giving that burger a 1. Melt my cheese. That was just a bad presentation to me. Had a great experience at Gotti. I was in town visiting for a conference and was looking for a late dinner. When I got to the restaurant I could tell it was a trendy place based on how full the room was . The host worked quickly to seat us and noticed there was live music. Go to any of the food trucks or other restaurants nearby instead of this one. Immediately upon being sat, our water decanter was dirty and plastic cups cracked. We were told the kitchen was backed up and our food would take about 30 minutes, an hour later we finally received one of our 3 meals. In the meantime only a couple items came out of the kitchen. The kitchen had fry baskets full of food the entire time with nobody doing anything with them. I ordered catfish and shrimp with a side of collard greens. The seafood was seasoned well but the greens tasted unwashed or spoiled and I had to pull bones out of my fish. The automatic gratuity and fees are ridiculous for the service provided. Even after waiting until after closing the 12+ employees did mostly nothing besides talk and look at their phones. We visited Gotti's on a Sunday for brunch. Reservations weren't required although they are preferred as tables have a maximum of 2 hours at a table. Our wait time to be seated was about 15-20mins which wasn't bad at all. After being seated we were provided with menus and were provided with bingo cards. There are 3 rounds of bingo that is played. The first round winner wins a drink. The second and third round winner win shots for their entire table. Our table won the first round! The games are paced and are not played back to back allowing others to join in depending on when they are seated. The menu is super limited, but my selection, I really enjoyed. I had the catfish with grits and asked for a side of their Cajun sauce which was superb mixed in with the fish and grits! For drinks I had the Lillies margarita and the watermelon drop. The Lillie's margarita was 10x better--I am a tequila lover lol. Both drinks were perfectly made and had ample amount of liquor. For parking we were competing with the baseball game which was nearby so we had to park 3 blocks over. The DJ is great. However, there is restricted space which limits room for dancing. There is space to stand up at your table but again, it is tight. I hope they can expand soon. read more
